It has three floors, though the first floor seems more like a storage or pass-through space, so head straight to the second floor to check in. The second floor has bar seating but is more dinner-oriented, with mostly tables. The third floor is the lounge: more relaxed, with chairs and less structured seating. Pearl Box was one of the most unique dining experiences I have been too. The restaurant is cozy - speak easy feel. It was a great vibe for wanting to go out with my girlfriends to catch up and chat. The food menu was admittedly small and was small plates to share over actual meals. This was fine with me, as I like to try a bunch of different things on a menu. The drink menu was vast, with the menu book being themed like a Playboy Magazine. I had a classic dirty martini, which was delicious. The caviar service really stood out, and was presented beautifully. The waiter was extremely helpful in picking which service and which caviar would be best for our table. We ended the night with the classic candy box, which is filled with classic gummy candy and seems like "the thing they are known for" when you stop in. Overall, the service was the only thing I would complain about. The food and drinks took extremely long to come out. Additionally our server did not stop by our table to check in as much as I would have liked her too, especially with everything taking so long. I don't know where to begin. I came for my daycation and I had this as my last stop of the night before heading back to amtrack! What a great send off. First off... the decor is just spot on. We showed up on time and were taken upstairs. The hosts were all friendly. The space is not big at all. Maybe 10-15 tables that seat 2-4 people. We were sitting on a small couch near the front. It was a comfortable couch! The space is gorgeously decorated in a 70s vibe. Music playing with a mix of old and new. Wish they played more disco. Service was attentive. The only downside was their lack of vegetarian options on the menu. Both my friend and I are veg and the only two things we could order were the bowl of candy and a bowl of potato chips. Both were very good however! The drink menu is pretty interesting. I had a drink called a Floradora which was botanical and made of gin. My friend had a Sazerac. They were not the best drinks I've had but not the worst either. There's a bathroom upstairs that's decorated with 70s playgirl and playboy magazine covers which was fun. After 90 minutes, we were asked to leave so they could seat the next reservation. This was fine with us because we were done after our one drink and snacks. I'd be inclined to stay longer if I had more food to snack on. The sound level wasn't loud and overall, this was a pretty nice, chill environment even on a Saturday evening. Would go back and really hope they add more veggie options to the menu. There is apparently a $45 per person minimum but we did not meet it and were not asked to either. I came in with a group of 9 we sat at the bar ordered a birthday shot for one of the people with me and then other folks ordered other drinks. After 30 minutes a bartender came over and started making drinks but looked confused at one point a person with me offered to tell the bartender what was in the shots we ordered if he wasn't sure. He looked her dead in the face and said "Go F**k Yourself You can just leave." Needless to say we all got up and left immediately. I was already outside when the last of our party came out and said the manager came over and didn't apologize or anything. I don't know how this place has such high ratings with such poor staff and service. It's well decorated and there is a mix of cabin rustic vibe + Nordic chic + modern lighting. It strangely works but not necessarily comfortable seating or relaxing vibe. I imagine it's because the space is quite small and nobody can escape the feeling of being a bit cramped. They do have an outdoor space that seemed to have potential; I didn't get to check it out because it wasn't quite ready for the patrons. Went for after work drinks on a Friday with a friend. When we walked in the vibe was super cool and the host was very friendly when he seated us. I ordered a dirty martini and my friend ordered a gimlet, $24 each, and an order of French fries, $12. The drinks came first and I can tell you, you're not paying $24 for good ingredients, finesse, or even glassware (they were plastic), instead you're paying for the tik tok ambiance in Soho. When the French fries came, there was mayo (let's be real, aioli is just mayonnaise) on the side as a dipping sauce. I'm not a fan of dipping French fries in Mayo, so I asked for ketchup and the guy said "we don't have ketchup, it's not that kind of place," which is a confusing statement when the French fries clearly came from a bag (they tasted like McDonald's) and the drinks were mid. If it's not the kind of place that has ketchup there should be a ketchup style dipping sauce to offer. There's a sign on the menu that says $45 minimum (embarrassing to have to require that) but we asked for the check and they didn't enforce the rule. I'm conclusion, you can only be that rude if the food and drinks back it up, this is a pass in the future. read more

If you have dinner downstairs and then go upstairs for pretty much the same drinks you will still be required to spend $45 a person on drinks. The ambiance was okay, nothing over the top.
