Went to the Swan Room at the Nine Orchard Hotel on a weekday evening early in the week for a late cocktail with a friend. We did not make a reservation and had no issue getting in, though I would recommend a reservation on busier nights or for earlier evening times. The interior is absolutely beautiful, highly intricate, ornate, and visually stunning. The space feels elegant but still comfortable, making it an easy place to settle in and relax. We ordered cocktails (all $24), which were served with large ice cubes that melt slowly. I had the Margarita and my friend ordered the Old Fashioned; both were excellent and well-balanced. This is a great spot for catching up with a friend over a cocktail. The seating is very comfortable and spaced out well, so it does not feel crowded or loud. The staff was kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. Would certainly return and recommend for a relaxed, elevated cocktail experience.

Swan Room on the Lower East Side is the perfect place to have a cocktail experience in New York. It's housed in a landmark built in 1912 which is now the fully renovated Nine Orchard Hotel. There are a number of bars and restaurants available but the Swan Room is quite unique. It's the old teller room set with vaulted ceilings and Pink Tennessee marble walls. It definitely has an old world flare which makes it a perfect spot for a New York nightcap. @swanroomnyc The menu has a nice selection for all flavors and likes. We landed on Banana Sazerac and Grasshopper which are both variations of classics. I have a hard time passing up a cocktail paired with banana liqueur and a brown spirit. They always turn out delicious if made well so Banana Sazerac was calling me. This legendary New Orleans recipe took on new life by adding a few twists to the original ingredients. It combined Rye whiskey with Brown Butter Cognac, Oloroso (dark Spanish fortified wine), banana liqueur and absinthe. It worked well with a nice balance of boozy, slightly sweet and rich. The Grasshopper added Armagnac and Pandan (Asian vanilla) to the original ingredients of Creme de Menthe, Creme de Cacao and cream. It was an elevated treat from a classic that always brings happiness to our crew. White Swan is a memorable space worth seeking out next time you're in New York. I look forward to checking out more of Nine Orchard hotel next time but I would go back just for that room and these two fabulous cocktails. @nineorchard Salute @thejohnnycocktail #newyork #cocktailphotography #cocktails Banana Sazerac Rye Whiskey Brown Butter Cognac Oloroso Banana Liqueur Absinthe Grasshopper Creme de Menthe Armagnac Creme De Cacao Pandan Cream

Great place to grab a cocktail. Beautiful interior with warm stone and stunning architecture. Popped in before meeting friends for dinner.

We had a craving for a fancy drink in the neighborhood and decided to visit the Swan Room. We didn't have a reservation, so the hostess took a few minutes before seating us, even though the room was nearly empty. Not sure what the delay was about, but we eventually got a table. I ordered the bourbon Old Fashioned, and my wife opted for a dirty martini with Bleu cheese-stuffed olives. To go along with the drinks, we added a side of rosemary fries. The fries were tasty, although at $15, they didn't feel quite worth the cost. Overall, the drinks were great, and we're excited to have this as a local neighborhood spot. We'll definitely be back.

I came here around Christmas and had a great time. The area isn't my favorite, especially taking the subway but once you're there you totally forget. I did make a reservation so I'm not sure how hard it would be to walk in but we were sat immediately, the inside is beautiful. I got the eggnog cocktail and it was great, my friend also loved what she got. We ordered the hummus which came almost more like a salad but was really great. And then we got the toffee cake and espresso to end the night, both of which were great. I loved it here and will definitely be back.

I had no idea this place existed until my friends invited me for drinks on a Saturday night. They made a reservation so when I arrived, we were already seated. It's the hotel bar for Nine Orchard hotel so the bathroom is located inside the hotel. You have to go all the way in the back by the bar, turn left, and walk down some stairs. Quite an adventure. It's absolutely stunning inside! Love the low lights, high ceilings, and coziness. I got the strawberry cocktail, which came in a huge goblet. It was refreshing and I liked it.

Gorgeous sexy bar that has my favorite burger in the city. Food is limited but you can ask to order off the corner bar menu (shhhh). Drinks are delicious, great for a date night or classy / quiet start to a night out downtown.

The Swan Room is located inside the Nine Orchard hotel. There's a small step to get inside, and I'm not sure if there's an ADA way to get inside. It is not a big bar but it is gorgeous! Note that the bathrooms are downstairs (not sure if there's an elevator). The bathrooms are very pretty though. Service was spectacular and attentive. I had the Takishido Martini and it was stunning. Very complex flavor profile. The drinks here are thoughtfully curated. The food menu is limiting, especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan. We had the snack platter but it's pricey at $18, and usually something some bars give you for free! It contained potato chips, olives and nuts. The tables are pretty close together so be prepared to make friends with your neighbors. Their Resy page mentions a dress code and say "dress for a night out", which is deceiving. There were a fair amount of tourists at the bar not dressed up at all, so I would take the dress code as a light suggestion rather than a requirement. Overall, this is a nice place to come for a drink but make sure you eat a full meal before or after as the dinner options are limited.

Beautiful space. Delicious cocktails. Okay food that's slightly overpriced, but well that's usual for a hotel lobby bar. Grilled Oyster and Jamon Croquettes were great elevated bar bites here.

Wow. This spot was gorgeous. LOOK at the ceiling - beautiful chandeliers dropping down from a high ceiling with intricate details. We had a reservation for 9 but our table wasn't ready. We were taken to the bar where we ordered the yuzu and lemongrass martinis. We were there for a little while before we got taken to our seats but the bartender was really sweet and we enjoyed our drinks. We ended up getting seconds - the spicy goldfinch and garden margarita, which were our favorites for the night. Overall, beautiful spot - very elegant. Definitely a great date spot!

After our reservation at UVA, we journeyed to the lower east side for drinks at Swan Room. This elegant and cozy cocktail lounge is connected to the Nine Orchard hotel and is the sister cocktail bar to Corner Bar on the same block. It was a rainy night, so the plush seating, velvet curtains, and intimate lighting were particularly inviting! I had a glass of Rosé while my friend tried a savory gin and tonic with carrots and coriander. The Swan Room is a great spot for drinks before dinner or a spot for a long debrief and lengthy conversations.

What a great cozy little lounge bar that used to be a bank. A fairly new spot in a hotel called nine Orchard. Adam, the host was very professional and accommodating. It's almost like a much smaller version of the Beekman if you've ever been to that hotel and bar. Definitely the most upscale joint for the area.

Speak-easy type of bar - in the middle of Dime Square! Unreal that something so fancy is in the Lower East side. Beautiful people and beautiful space - amazing mood lighting and luxe seating and finishing. Came here for a nightcap and spent $100 on 3 very dainty but delicious and well-done drinks. Almost worth it! Photos not allowed but I snuck one of the bar snacks

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

Which is fine in my opinion because they have live jazz and I love that. I also love a bar with an activity outside of just drinking. Some pros: so many games and pool tables and live jazz and decent beer Some cons: not many seats, long waits for the pool/ping pong/foosball tables on a weekend, loud (not a place to get to know someone I'd say) Overall it's definitely ~cool~. The crowd looked to be a lot of NYU students/20somethjngs in tech or whatever living their best city life. Not the vibe for all, but definitely the vibe for some.

It's actually a legacy spot in disguise. This basement used to house Fat Cat, a longtime West Village institution that shut down right before the pandemic, and before that the room itself was a bowling alley, tucked into a 1932 Art Deco building a few steps from Stonewall. Drink selection isn't the draw here, don't come expecting a deep cocktail list. Crowd skews heavily undergrad, and the place is loud, so it's not the spot for an intimate one-on-one or a real group conversation. It's built for a different kind of hang: elbow your way to a table, keep your hands busy, let the noise do the rest. I made the reservation for 4:15 PM, I didn't want to risk not getting one of those cheeseburgers. It's all he talked about. We left me with plenty of time to get there walk around the city go to dinner and then head to the next stop. TRAFFIC!! Awful, terrible, dream crushing traffic! It was bumper-to-bumper almost immediately getting out of Maine. I'm staring at the clock, watching the arrival time get later and later and my son's face go further and further from the glowing smile it had started with. I try to call the restaurant, knowing no one would be there to answer. They didn't open till 4 o'clock, and it was 10 AM. I have my husband sent an email saying that we might be late. Then traffic starts to clear up and it says we're gonna arrive in New York around 245. Awesome! No traffic picks up again and it goes back to 6 PM. We finally get a call from the restaurant, they moved things around and offered us a reservation at 5:25pm, but it was the best they could do. Their best was enough, we made it there by 5:15. Thanks to the amazing staff at sip and guzzle, my son was able to have his birthday dinner at the place he'd been dreaming about for months. Mackenzie and Kamila greeted us at the door, we had spoken to Kamila on the phone and she was just as wonderful in person. She led us to a nice corner booth where we weren't all crammed in and left us in the hands of our server, Angie. Unfortunately, they were sold out of cheeseburgers. They only make a minimal amount a day, but we made up for it other places. We ordered the highlight reel. MOCHI FRIES Creative, crispy and unique, the nacho powder dip is an interesting touch, I preferred it without. SPICY TUNA was disappointing, we were told to alternate side because one was meant to be sticky rice the other tuna. Enjoyed as instructed but unfortunately the ratio of rice to tuna was probably 70/30. Two small bites of rice and then all tuna. Mine being the second bite I didn't really get the experience. SHRIMP TOAST fried shokupan stuffed with royal red shrimp and lobster This was strange, it wasn't bad, wasn't amazing. The first taste and smell was soapy, like fancy soap. The texture is amazing. It almost had an herb chicken salad flavor. Definitely interesting and worth the bite. ELECTRIC CHICKEN hot and crispy This was FUN!! The presentation, the flavor. It really hit upfront with scechuam pepper. Szechuan pepper is more a feeling than a taste and really elevates the experience. If you've never had Szechuan pepper this is a good place to start your adventure with it. This came out with their addictive cabbage, not by request, it just happened that way. So obviously I wanted to see if they were friends, they are, bites together suggested. ROYALE WITH CHEESE a5 wagyu Yes we ordered $150 sandwich, shamelessly. If this is the only thing you can get, get it! It comes with sour house made pickles. I suggest being careful with those, there's no need to overpower the flavor of what is already here.
