Able to get a table immediately on a Sunday afternoon despite it being busy. They had a cute patio outdoor setup and a lot of space inside. Fun hipster vibe that would be great for a date or catch up with friends. Solo complaint is I wish they had more vodka options - it's just the melonade which we did like. Want to come back for food and to sit outside on a nice day.

came here to try the famous spice bag, and it did not disappoint! the chicken was well seasoned and the curry sauce was fantastic. i had a spicy bag in ireland once and this definetly competes, if you never hand a spice bag this is a great first place to try. their drinks are super creative and amazing as well, i'd recommend swinging by during their happy hour (i believe before 6pm?) because they have some great deals on food and drink. overall they choose unique cups and have a wide variety of beverages to choose from and even some season options. ambiance in here is great, it's small and cozy with quite the nice interior. so many reasons to go give this place a go, if you want a beer and a snack or if you want some nice cocktails, there's something for everybody.

What a cute spot!! Fun for dates or group of friend. Came here for a spice bag and it was everything i thought it'd be. I can't recall what the burger was because it was a new item but it was delish! It's a bit small for the price but delicious otherwise. It gets crowded here so it's overwhelming at times when people are bumping into you while you're eating. Nonetheless it's a cute spot with solid snacks.

10/10 I truly enjoyed visiting Bar Snack this evening. The bar is cozy with ample seating. Yay for purse hooks on the bar as well. The menu is so fun, per the name, they do snacking very well here. I had the chips and dip (bbq chips and jarlseberg cheese) plus their "Starving Artist" meal combo (glass of wine plus their delicious peanut noodles for $22). To drink, I had a glass of white wine followed by the Dawn Patrol N/A Arnold Palmer. What stood out especially was the amazing customer service. Danielle and Emma were warm, friendly and attentive. This was my first time at this bar but I felt like I was among friends. The noise level on a Monday was not loud though I'm sure weekends are busy! Bonus points for many vegan/vegetarian food options. There's so many overrated/shitty bars in the East Village right now and Bar Snack stands out as something authentic, fun and real. Not only is the food reasonably priced, it is actually good. Same goes for the drinks. Hoping to make this my new regular spot. I was enjoying my drink and peanut noodles so much that I forgot to take a photo of them.

Bar Tender at the bar was super kind, attentive, and great to chat with! Another great place in the neighborhood to visit!! Cheese curds not the best but the menu overall is so well constructed !

Nice, chic vibes that is so popular for a night out. It was quite busy on a Saturday night, but we found a bar seat along the wall towards the back. Unfortunately, the space was next to the speakers and a large group, so it was very loud; a bit too loud for this millennial, unfortunately. It also took awhile to flag down a waiter to order drinks and pay the tab, but they would check in when we didn't need anything. I ordered the Good Gordo ($18) and my friend had the Force Majeure ($18). I wasn't too into the drinks either despite the description sounding good. It's a cool space, but everything else didn't leave me wanting to stay here too long. P.S. The restroom is super fun with disco vibes though.

Great spot - big but cozy, opens early (rare for craft cocktail spots), friendly staff (shout out to Rob!), and of course great drinks (salad negroni and guinness egg nog were both great)

Service, drinks, SNACKS, vibes, and of course: the disco bathroom! Everything about bar snack is what you need in a bar. It's a party, but you still feel at home, it's transformative yet comforting, it's boozy yet balanced. In other words: perfection. Finding escapism in NYC is easy, but finding a place with a unique experience, great people, and a well executed beverage program can be a bit more challenging. Bar snack has perfected the blend of feeling like a regular, bringing you to a party, and being a priority. Beautiful drinks, great eats. Get the dill cheese curds. They are finger smacking good!

Wine, Mama tried, and melonade with spice bag

My friends and I snagged a table in the back. We ordered a white Wine, Mama tried, and melonade with spice bag. I loved mama tried (frozen sorbet with alcohol). And we all enjoyed the spice bag very much! You can't go wrong with warm fries, chicken tenders, peppers and onions. Great customer service too!

Reminds me a lot of Bandit's Diner & Dive. Wooden panel walls, slub velvet seats, quirky bar food, delish novelty drinks, laid back service. Has a 1970s-1980s vibe. Speaking of 70s, they have a disco bathroom! I came mid-day in the middle of the week, so there were only a few patrons here and there. I didn't get any snacks, but some of the offerings were: cheese and chips, grilled cheese and soup, a dressed up hotdog (pork and beef, onion jam, hot pickle, kettle chips). Spicy peanut butter noodles. Dorito pie. All snacks 10-14 dollars. Drinks were varied and seemed to have a classics with a twist vibe. I had the melonade (cantaloupe, lemon, "an herby kick," and grey goose vodka. I had the snack daq (comes in two or three sizes)--diplomatico, other mixed rums, clementine, winter spices, and lime. Those two were very refreshing and fruity, but not too sweet. The menage-a-gave I had was a little more savory, but still delish--strawberry, snap pea, yola mezcal, agave wine, agave syrup, and sparking wine. I also had the salad Negroni, which was one of the better Negronis I've had--nectarine, basil, and acid layered into gin. Closed with the Swan-yay Lo Ball--aberfeldy 12 single malt, white peach, and pink grapefruit soda. Service was laid back but attentive. Not pretentious. Prices reasonable, or at least on point for Manhattan, and the value is definitely there. Prices 16-18 dollars. They live up to their motto, "dressed up classics for dressed down people."

A recommendation from The Infatuation brought us here on a weekend night, as well as some recent bad health news for my partner, and I wanted to cheer her up. She got a pretty strong Whiskey, and I a Menage-a-Gave, which was perfect. When we arrived, my partner was pretty daunted by the packed, straight crowd that was there but I coaxed her inside to the back of the bar. The host was super friendly as was the bartender: I think they understood we we'ren't typical guests and really made an effort to make us feel at home. We vowed to visit again during the week when it was less crowded--it's next to our favorite ramen spot in the city.

The bartender with glasses and piercing was amazing and nice to talk to us. The drinks were yum and different!! The bar is fun even the bouncer outside is fun! Would totally go there again! The restroom is lit too!

After a long day of travel, we just needed something good. We arrived and they accommodated us in a back booth tucked behind the bar, perfect! Our waiter was a delight and very responsive. The martini was kick-ass and our waiter was kind enough to offer us many recommendations. We landed on Charbroiled Oysters, Steak Tartare, and French Onion Dip. Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!
