Decent bar I wouldn't call it a Dive. The steak tartare was a perfect blend. It's very narrow and small. If you're claustrophobic I do not advise coming here.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, and I am so glad I did! I am very much a burger person, and it did not disappoint. The fries were also amazing and we were given a large portion! (Great to share if you're not super hungry). What surprised me the most was how much I loved my drink! The French 75 was one of the best I've had, and I am very picky about this drink! The reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of how small it is and crammed the tables are together. Although I still enjoyed the ambiance and vibe of the place, I do wish the tables were spaced out just a littleeee bit more.

Most come here for drinks, I come here for food. It's just always on point. Tuna Nicoise is a must have. And I'm obsessed with their artichoke - having it here sent me on a journey for the best artichoke dish in Manhattan. So far no competition. It's so simple yet so right. Can't go wrong with falafel, ricotta, Bibb lettuce, beef tartare and FRENCH FRIES here. I'm a fan of their curry mussels too. But beware! It's messy splatter prone so if you're dressed up, it's a danger zone. Always appreciate a place that has a wide variety of non alcoholic drinks too! Le Dive reigns in all categories beside table availability. That's a rough one. But be nice and patient and they'll squeeze you in.

I came here with my two friends for a cute wine bar experience and we got exactly that! The lighting was perfect and service was fast and amazing. Very sweet. I got the french 75 and it was really well made. The tuna tartare was amazinggg as well. Not bad of prices. Definitely need a reservation made beforehand though as it was busy on a Friday night.

Quaint spot we walked in on a Sunday afternoon just to get a drink while we waited for our to go Order at the golden diner. We sat at the bar and ordered two paper planes. They were really good and refreshing and the service was prompt. We didn't eat but the burger looked popular.

Went here for a drink while waiting on nearby reservation and it was quite busy. Service was fine nothing notable and would do a more in depth review when we try their food. There is a bar and two levels for seating but still rather tight inside

Loved this place. Been meaning to go for a while. Went on a Friday night, and the place was pretty buzzy around 10:30. I've been to some of the other locations by the restauranteur, and this one was the best. Very good house mezcal Negronis Will definitely be back

Came by with some friends on a busy Thursday night, thankfully we had a reservation so we sat right away. We ended up staying awhile so we saw the bar go from the after work crowd to the getting ready to go to the club in the basement crowd (& yes there is really a small dance club in the basement). The food here is served tapas style so we ordered a few dishes for the table. Started with a frontage & charcuterie (these are separate & the charcuterie is actually just meat. The meat plate came out pretty full & the frontage plate or cheese seemed lacking in comparison but we were three girls hanging out so it wasn't the end of the world. We also ordered a stuff mushroom & a steak frites for the table. Both of these are must orders! Very good, the steak was cooked perfectly & the sauce from the stuffed mushrooms were to die for. We soaked up the rest with our fries & leftover bread from the cheese plate. Drinks are a little pricy without the matching heavier pour but overall we had a good time. The busier it gets the less we saw of our server but that makes sense because at one point the bar was three people deep & it's not a big enough spot to move around easily.

I mean anyone that's a downtown girlie loves Le Dive. A Dime's Square staple. Great vibes always. Great espresso martinis, it's the perfect "let's grab a drink" spot. I went to an event in the downstairs space, great vibes, you really feel like you're in Paris at a French speakeasy. The team is also great, they're always busy but that doesn't affect the customer service in any way.

    Mushroom pate, radishes and butter

Lolll i kind of understand the low rating but i also think the food here is amazing and its an addicting spot to people watch at which made me enjoy the experience a lot. Like there are many characteristics of a dime square establishment that r so entertaining in a myriad of ways but i still thought this place managed to run a tight ship despite it all. We came at around 7:30 on a wednesday and waited around 15 mins for a table for 2 The radishes and butter are a nice simple side and the mushroom pate really surprised me with how savory and delicious it was. The texture was velvety and smooth. The skin contact wines they had, if they were a little lighthanded, were delicious. The fries r a mustttt. Yum

Walking through the cold streets, I stumbled upon The Spaniard which has quickly become one of my favorite NY destinations! We were there for a quick 30 hour trip to experience the "Holiday Magic". After a long day of travel, we just needed something good. We arrived and they accommodated us in a back booth tucked behind the bar, perfect! Our waiter was a delight and very responsive. The martini was kick-ass and our waiter was kind enough to offer us many recommendations. We landed on Charbroiled Oysters, Steak Tartare, and French Onion Dip. As for food, there were some true hits but most of the food was good but basic. The highlights for me were the wild mushrooms & rice cakes as well as the Caesar salad - loved the use of nori in the salad and would definitely come back for the mushrooms. The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. The wait staff weren't super attentive nor super warm, but they were efficient when we asked for water refills, etc. There was ample standing room at the bar while we waited for our friends, but the table/booth that we sat at was super narrow, I was knocking knees with my friend all night and generally felt squished.

Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!
