    Free bread with lasagna
    David Z.

Came in thinking it was overrated but can pleasantly say it was really good! Got the chrysanthemum salad, sourdough pasta and of course the lasagna Salad was really solid tho 26$ and no meat in it is crazy. Overpriced for sure but delicious nonetheless Sourdough pasta was my favorite of the night and only 3$ more than the salad lol. Pasta was aldente and sauce was nice and flavorful Sweet potato side was not bad but didn't stand out either Now the lasagna, tbh still a solid dish. Definitely suggest taking it home and then reheating it for the next day. It is a lot of food and the tomato sauce was nice and tangy. Only Wish there was more tomato sauce and for the lasagna to be served hotter. It came out warm but i wanted it like lava Bread was good just needed to be seasoned

I've been to Don Angie a few times and it never disappoints! The food here is solid and the staff are all super nice. It can be hard to get a reservation here, but it opens 7 days ahead of time on OpenTable at 9am so definitely plan ahead if you want a reservation. For apps, we tried the Amberjack Crudo, the stuffed garlic flatbread, and the chrysanthemum salad. All three were delicious and I'd highly recommend trying them all. The flatbread had a cheesy texture while being super crispy similar to a Chinese scallion pancake. The chrysanthemum salad had a nice texture and was super refreshing. For entrees, we had the buffalo milk caramelle, gnocchi, sourdough pasta, steak Al Limone, and the lasagna. The caramelle portion was small but it had a nice sweet taste to it. The lasagna is the star as it comes with 6 large pinwheels and is served with garlic bread on the side! The sourdough pasta was also tasty along with the lemon sauce steak. For sides, I recommend getting the Japanese sweet potato's. They are super sweet and crunchy and was definitely the unexpected star of the food we tried! For dessert, the tiramisu is delicious but our group really loved the mochi!

This is similar to my experience at San Sabino. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I appreciate the service, ambiance, creativity, and good quality ingredients.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, most dishes have confusing flavors that I would not try again: (1) the chrysanthemum salad was way too acidic and salty, multiple tables near us couldn't finish it either. (2) veal was not outstanding, just no fault. (3) the candy shaped pasta is the best tasting thing 10 out of 10, it's $4 a piece though. (4) the tiramisu had too much crumbly stuff and too little moist, Torrisi's affogato is a superior dessert. I didn't try the lasagna but saw 2-person tables struggle with finishing.

Don Angie gets a lot of love and I wanted to love it too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The West Village room is lovely, the service is warm, and the concept is genuinely fun: nostalgic Italian-American with a creative twist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But after all the hype, the Michelin buzz, and the impossible reservation, I left feeling like something was missing. The chrysanthemum salad is the real deal. Buried under a mountain of parmesan with a punchy dressing, it is bright and textural and honestly the best thing we ordered. Get it without question. The crudo was also a highlight: fresh, delicate, well-balanced. My only complaint is that it was gone in about four bites. The garlic flatbread, which is supposed to be a crowd-pleaser, came out genuinely soggy in the middle. Not in a good way. The edges delivered but the center just didn't hold up. And then there's the lasagna, the dish everyone tells you to order. The pinwheel presentation is adorable and I get why it photographs so well. But ours was sausage-forward to a fault, light on cheese, and swimming in a sauce that just didn't have much to say. For the restaurant's signature dish, it felt like a letdown. Don Angie is perfectly good. It is not a bad meal. But for the effort it takes to get a table, I expected more than a few memorable moments scattered across an otherwise forgettable spread.

Their lasagna was pretty flavorful. It was pretty similar to the lasagna at Ciccio Mio in Chicago, and very solid overall. Their chrysanthemum salad was one of the best salads I've had! Very fresh tasting with a mountain of cheese. The reservations are not as difficult on OpenTable as when they were on Resy, but still have to make it right when they release.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely gorgeous establishment![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon entry, we were seated fairly quickly. We arrived toward the end of their lunch hours, and there was already a line forming outside the building. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had no idea this restaurant was such a hot spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend secured the Resy and told us where we were going, so I showed up feeling very lucky to snag a table! I ordered a cocktail that was cute and enjoyable, nothing too over the top, and we shared a few starters. But the real star of the show was the LASAGNA. Wow, wow, wow. It wasn't prepared like a traditional lasagna, so I had no idea what I was in for, and it ended up being the best surprise ever. It was incredibly delicious and gloriously cheesy. We only ordered one for the table, but if I hadn't had plans after lunch, I honestly would have ordered another to go. It was that good!!

There are few things that are sacrilegious in Italian households like eating lasagna that didn't come from your own or a family member's kitchen and eating meatballs that you or a family member didn't hand roll themselves. This is the first time in my 36 years of life that I had meatballs and lasagna at a restaurant. Both were excellent. For appetizers we ordered: - Pinwheel lasagna - we felt that we had to try this and we are so glad that we did. It was gooey and delicious. The Robiolina cheese was a wonderful in this dish. The super thin pasta was tender. - Chrysanthemum salad - How have I never known that chrysanthemum salad could be so delicious? Someone else described the dressed as "bright" and I cannot think of a better way to describe the fresh taste. - Stuffed garlic flatbread - Reminiscent of artichoke dip baked in bread; good, but our least favorite item. - BBQ calamari - tender and flavorful For our main courses: - Sorpresine & Smoked Mussels - So much flavor on this "surprise" pasta. The combination of flavors was slightly unexpected, but everything worked beautifully together. The mussels were tender and added the perfect amount of smokiness to this dish. - Garganelli Giganti - The sauce and meatballs were perfection. I am very picky with sauce and this was really tasty. - Chicken Scarpariello - Veal "da Pepi" - This was the star (for me at least). I didn't know what to expect with speck, horseraddish, and banana peppers, but WOW. The veal cutlet was thin and tender. The breading was extremely crisp. Veal is very easy to dry out especially when this thin. - side of Charred Broccolini We all were able to share all of our items amongst the four of us which made it a great way to try so many different items on the menu. I also had a "Two Yoots" to drink. I was initially tickled by the My Cousin Vinny reference, but then felt I needed to try prosciutto washed rum. The rum mixed with min and cantaloupe very just as refreshing as I had hoped it to be. I wanted to try Nonna's nip, but I wanted to make sure I had enough room for all the food. My husband, parents, and I came in for lunch on a Sunday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is tiny and it was packed, but service was excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't love the Open Table reservation situation, but that is about the only negative thing I have to say about our experience with Don Angie. San Sabino (their sister restaurant) is up next on our list!

This meal was kind of unreal. We ended up paying about $63 per person, which felt more than fair for the quality of the food we tasted and the variety of dishes we were able to try. Their site says to set an alarm at 9am 7 days before you want to go, but luckily a snowstorm took care of any reservation concerns for us. First of all, one of the most hyped up items on the menu: the chrysanthemum salad. I really did not know what to expect and what chrysanthemum tastes like, but WOW did it live up to the high praise. The boatload of parmesan nearly covered the green entirely, but the garlic added some intrigue and crunch which really made it unique. It was probably the best salad I've ever had in my life. The stuffed garlic flatbread was also phenomenal - sooo cheesy but had just a bit of crisp. Warm, gooey, and savory. For mains, we split the garganelli giganti and the lasagna, and both were amazing - rich, saucy, and intensely flavorful. Definitely the move to share. They also bring bread, which we dipped into all the sauces left over from the mains - the texture and flavor combination was absolutely delectable. Finally, the star of the show (in my eyes - my friend had a different star, the lasagna) was the Japanese sweet potatoes. I've never tasted sweet potatoes like that before, but the combination of the sweet and the crunch of the skin was actually life changing, I had 3 potatoes and each one was memorable, I wanted to chew slower so that it could last longer... The broccolini was flavorful, but felt dim compared to the light of the other dishes. And the tiramisu was super unique - rich and creamy with a crispy feuilletine texture that made it stand out. Also slightly chaotic because it fully stained our napkins black, but worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beyond the food, the ambience is classy without feeling overbearing, and our waiter was incredibly nice, which made the whole experience even better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, one of those meals where every dish hits. So fun to share with a group and try a bit of everything.

Don Angie is worth every effort it takes to get a reservation. The lasagna is an absolute must -- one of the best things I've eaten in the city. The cocktails are seriously underrated and deserve just as much attention as the food. Staff was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is vibey in a way that makes you want to linger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Difficult to get into, easy to fall in love with.

Yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. My goodness was the food fantastic here. Yes it's a bit difficult to get a reservation, I have to make sure you are quick with the mouse, but totally worth it. I was able to snag a reservation for a Monday night, probably the way to go if you're not having luck getting one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was of course still packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the service was top-notch as expected. Food, dessert and drinks lived up to the hype. I would absolutely come back here again, one of the few restaurants I've been to that actually was worth all the commotion I have heard about it.

Making reservations at Don Angie is challenging in that you have to be hovering over your keyboard when reservations open up. Once the nail biting reservation process is complete, it's deciding what you want and enjoying the wonderful food. Here's what we had: Scallop Crudo Chrysanthemum Salad Buffalo Milk Caramelle Garganelli Giganti - Broken Meatball Ragu, Guanciale, Pecorino Our Lasagne Whole Roasted Lobster (includes extra dishes) Japanese Sweet Potatoes Caramelized Pear Sorbetto and Black Cocoa Tiramisu Capuccino Very Dirty Martini While our party of 4 enjoyed all the dishes, we would be hesitant to order the whole roasted lobster again as it was just a whole roasted lobster with not much meat. With that said, the lobster did come with extra dishes that were special so I guess that is something to consider. All in all, a very special meal with the Black Cocoa Tiramisu for the Birthday Boy!

I would fly to New York just to eat here. I am Italian and this was the best lasagna I've ever tasted. The noodles were so soft and the pasta tasted so light. The ambiance is so enchanting with a small lovely space feeling so intimate. The food also came out so fast and was so hot and every single dish was so flavorful. This was a highlight dinner on my New York trip.

Is the lunch menu different than their dinner menu?

Yes. No buffalo milk caramelle or the lobster. Otherwise it's the same

    Do you have vegetarian options?

    Yes!

    Is there a dress code?

    it's casual .

Is the lunch menu the same as the dinner menu? Is the two person lasagna offered during lunch time?

Hi Kayla! Thanks for reaching out! The lunch menu is almost the same! We definitely serve the lasagna, however the lobster and pork are not served during lunch. We hope to see you soon!

Is the buffalo milk caramelle pasta still on the regular/special menu?

It was when I went last week but it's not a regular item.

Is there any way to get a reservation? I've tried SO many times, at 9 on the dot, and it's not happening. Reservations are "for sale" on AppointmentTrader, which is really disheartening.

Best thing to do is to go in person between 3:30-4:30pm and put your name on the waitlist, sure fire way to get a table!

    Are children allowed?

    Yes

How can i reservation?? There is no seat any days. I dont understand

Is there any way to get the lasagna with no pork in the sauce?

Do you have a vegetarian option for pasta or can the pasta dishes be done without meat? (One guest is vegetarian, the rest are not). Thank you

    What are you vegan options?

    Do you offer takeout?

I'm looking to dine at Don Angie 3/25. What's the best way to snag a ressy?

Do you have gluten free pasta? Any other gluten free options?

AT this location I did not see any, and they did not mention it. I would call first to ask. That would be the best opportunity.

Hi! Are your outdoor booths heated for the winter?

Yes, and they have heavy-duty curtains to close you in!

What meats are in the lasagna?

Hi there! We use a classic meat sauce of veal, beef and sweet italian sausage (Pork)!…

All I want for my birthday on 3/21 is to eat here but they're fully booked. Is there any hope of a walk in?

If you go right when they open, start at the bar, you may get a seat around 5:30pm or set something up. When we were there, a couple walked in right ahead of us. No reservation. They were offered a table at 10:30pm, an hour after our reservation. So…

Do you have any vegan menu options?

Hi Gretchen! We have a few vegan options, including a house made pasta!…

When do new reservation time slot become available?

We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. It came with a little side of rustic chips. I would not come back for the food but I would possibly go back to try a drink if I was in the area. The drink menu looked pretty good.

We were running a little late getting there because of traffic, but they were really nice about it which I appreciated. We ordered a bunch of things for the table so we could try a little bit of everything. The monkey bread was probably my favorite and definitely worth ordering. We also got the steak which was cooked perfectly, along with pasta and a burger. There was a small mix-up with our order and they accidentally brought out an extra pasta, but our server fixed it right away and took care of it without us even having to ask. Service throughout dinner was honestly great. We also tried a couple drinks and ended up staying for a while because we liked the atmosphere so much. It's definitely more of a special dinner spot than somewhere I'd casually stop into, but between the food, service and overall vibe I'd happily come back. Such a good dinner in NYC!

They have to let you in. I didn't have a reservation, but was seated immediately. Win! I really should've asked questions instead of going rogue. My intention was to do the lunch prix fixe menu. The menu on the table was a la carte. This did however work out better for me as I had limited time since I was catching a broadway show. Started with the olives then followed with the hot dogs and closed with the gem lettuce. They did come at different times. This gave me the perfect time to nibble slowly. The olives paired perfectly with the salad. The hot dogs were my favorite. The whole meal was perfectly balanced for me. Just have to mention how amazing the service was. No table had anything waiting to be taken away because there was always someone walking around. At one point, one of the guys clocked I had just finished drinking my water and within seconds he was at my table refilling my glass. I mean c'mon. Will took great care of me. He even suggested the dessert I ended up getting which was the peach cruller. I'm gonna try to come back to do the lunch tasting before I go back home to LA.

Bursting with flavor and the potatoes made for a nice variation of textures. Salmon with endive salad was also great. Salmon skin was cooked perfectly. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the corn gelato. Just didn't taste like much and the peaches I found didn't really play well with the dish for me. Overall though, service was top notch and you can't beat the upscale vibe. Would definitely recommend this for restaurant week experiences if you're looking to get a fine dining taste at a reduced cost. Portions felt reasonable for the quality and left full (far from bursting, but definitely not hungry at all).

The hostess was welcoming, our waitress was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and the support staff kept everything running smoothly throughout the evening. We took several of our server's recommendations and were happy with every one. What we ordered: * Butter Service Garni * Dressed Big Rock Oysters * Yellowtail Crudo * Filet Mignon with Pommes Purée * Nutella Opéra Cake Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, the pommes purée were rich and incredibly smooth, and the Nutella Opéra Cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The only thing I'd mention is that the restrooms are located down a fairly long flight of stairs. If you're wearing heels, have a stroller, or have mobility limitations, it's something to be aware of. Overall, this was a fantastic experience with excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I'd gladly return and would recommend Quality Bistro to anyone looking for an upscale French dining experience.

We started with the kale salad (although it seemed more like spinach than kale), and it was still fresh and delicious. The tomato burrata was outstanding--definitely a must-order! I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the French onion burger, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'll be ordering next time--it was incredible! The cocktails were made perfectly, and to finish, we shared the lemon ice cream cake. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet--the perfect ending to a great meal. Everything from the food to the drinks and exceptional service made this a wonderful dining experience. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
