Cheesy Fritelle Pasta Alle Vongole Shrimp Parm Broccolini Service was okay. The Cheesy Fritelle was good. Pasta Alle Vongole was not bad... just alright. The Shrimp Parm was good!
Lovely staff. Warm And helpful and answered all my questions. We had the don Angie meatballs. It was very light and tender. I had the shrimp parm. The shrimp were huge and the sauce was so flavorful. The best dish was the trout. It was covered by dill and crispy onions and a light sauce. This was my favorite dish. Because it's my husband's birthday, they gave us pineapple ice cream and mocktails. Lunch was $148 for two with the tip. I'll be back.
Nothing like a little wine and Italian food on a cool fall Wednesday night! The restaurant had a laid back, slightly retro European vibe with dim lighting - perfect for a late evening date night. This cozy spot has warm, welcoming atmosphere and a menu stacked with comfort food items in Italian cuisine. After starting off with a couple glasses of wine, we had the stuffed mussels, shrimp Parm, lobster triangoli, and stuffed farfalle. The star of the show was by far the shrimp Parm. I must say I was actually skeptical of this dish because I could not imagine shrimp Parmesan being as good as chicken Parmesan, but this absolutely blew us away, -- not an exaggeration. It was full of flavor, perfect combo of textures, and the shrimp were actually more like 3 giant prawns. So there was a lot of shrimp meat that was so tender. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Otherwise, the mussels were a nice light starter. But I was a bit disappointed with the pasta. The lobster triangoli dish came with four pieces and was absolutely drenched in a rich vodka sauce. It was definitely way too much sauce flooding the entire dish; I could hardly see the pasta underneath all the sauce. I could've done with half or a quarter of the amount of sauce that was on the plate. The flavor of the lobster filling inside the pasta was good though. That said, we still had a wonderful time, service was quick and the staff are all very friendly throughout the evening. I would definitely come back here for the vibes and for that shrimp Parm!
It's been a while that I'd be thoroughly impressed with a meal. For sure exceeded expectations. Who needs Don Angie (same owners btw) when reservations are a lot easier to obtain here and probably tastes just as good, if not, better. I've still never been to Don Angie as it's impossible to get a reservation (still trying to this day), so I'm making some bold assumptions here. Spicy Classico ($19) - Their take on a Spicy Bloody Mary. Spicy Tuna ($26) - Broken Arancini (crispy, crumbled fried-rice pieces), Rabe Furikake (seasoning), and Charred Scallion Crema. These appetizers were delicious and great to be shared with the table. Lobster Triangoli ($38) - In a white vodka sauce and black garlic, this may look simple face value, but upon cutting a slice and taking a bite, it's soo rich in taste along with being creamy and buttery. Worth getting if you can afford to indulge on such a dish. Shrimp Parm ($38) - This is their signature dish in a sweet & sour arrabbiata sauce. Comes with three enormous head-on shrimp butterflied, breaded, fried, and then covered with cheese. Such a statement piece when it comes out and it tastes even better after that first bite.
Upon walking in, we were greeted by the hostess. The restaurant had a good amount of people inside and, while it is rather small, it works in its favor and gives the space a nice atmosphere. Once seated, our waitress greeted us, offered recommendations, and answered any questions we had. We started with a glass of Prosecco and their Sabino Spritz. The Prosecco was solid, while the Sabino Spritz reminded me of a sweeter Aperol Spritz. As for the food, everything was pretty solid, although nothing particularly stood out as groundbreaking. My favorites were the steak and the Don Angie meatballs. Overall, it is a beautiful restaurant with great service and enjoyable food. However, regrettably, I don't believe I'd return.
Came here to use the Chase Sapphire Reserve $150 OpenTable credit. We ordered the lobster pasta and steak to share and both were surprisingly good. The lobster sauce was delicious and the staff even gave us complimentary bread to soak up every last drop. The steak was also a pretty hefty portion and worth the $46. It was rare in the middle, just the way I like, and crispy on the outside. The only disappointing part was the cocktail. We tried the Sanzese Spritz, which was overly sweet and didn't seem worth the $21 for just some juice and prosecco. I expected it to be a little more complex for the price we were paying. Service was super friendly though (they even gave me some pineapple sorbet at the end for my birthday) and I loved the vibe of the place. Would come back again! Everything was so good!! Food: we came here for a friends birthday and got so many different things! The cheesy frittelle was my favorite app! It had the right amount of cheese and had a very fun citrus twist. For mains, I loved the lobster triangoli! The sauces were so creamy and complimented the lobster well. The rocotta gnudi was also great. The shrimp parm is the most ordered, and it was also very good, but I preferred the pastas. We tried all three desserts and the crepe was my favorite Price: pretty expensive for the amount of food! Service: good service; very attentive. They gave US a free dessert for my friends birthday which was sweet. Ambience: very lively and busy! I would make a reservation early!
We came here for our anniversary dinner and had an absolute blast. We could only get bar seating but we had decent elbow room and staff were very friendly and attentive, always gotta shout out great waitstaff! It's a really fun menu that is pricey but this isn't really a "hey why don't we pop in here kind of place". Unless you got that kinda money in which case you shouldn't be complaining about the prices. Enjoyed the wine we ordered and they even brought us a couple of small glasses of champagne to help us celebrate! The food was awesome, we shared the crab and mortadella dip, the spicy tuna, the shrimp parm and the pasta vongole. Didn't expect the shrimp to be massive head on prawns and was thrilled, they were delicious. Have never had anything like the crab dip and the zeppole it came with were fantastic, really recommend that one. The spicy tuna with broken arancini is so solid, would maybe get something else but also wouldn't be mad eating 20 of them. The vongole is good, the pasta is delicious but the sauce really is just an obscene amount of butter and lemon. Yummy but there are better in the city and would rec picking something else. A great place to celebrate something!
I came here for my birthday dinner. I made the reservation a month ago. I had a reservation at 8:45 pm but our indoor table wasn't ready yet so we probably didn't get seated until 9 pmish. The space is much smaller than I anticipated, but I loved the dimly lit ambiance inside. There's a single stall bathroom in the back, to the left of the bar. My friends and I shared (in order of my favorite): - Don Angie meatballs: it came with 6 pieces total. The bottom pieces were slightly crispy and I loved it! I would have ordered another one. - TRICOLORE SABINO: I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this salad. Each piece was seasoned, so no need to mix. - CARAMELIZED CRESPELLE: I was debating what dessert to get and chose this one cause the other one had nuts (which I'm allergic to) or it didn't sound appealing. My friends and I were like what are these sausage looking things but it was actually really good. It's caramelized with key lime pie filling. - STUFFED FARFELLE: this was good but nothing crazy, I only ordered because other reviews said it was good. I did prefer it over the lobster triangoli. - LOBSTER TRIANGOLI: pass on this. 4 pieces for $36 is crazy. It wasn't memorable because my friends and I only each had one piece. - complimentary pineapple sorbet: our server brought this for me on candle for my birthday! I was hesitant about ordering this because I'm not the biggest pineapple fan but the taste was subtle enough. My friends agreed too! I was touched by this gesture and it definitely made me feel special. - Spicy Tuna: this was fine. It came with enough pieces for some of us to have 2-3. Our server, Ulysses was great! He was attentive and filled up our waters a lot. He even relit our candle when it blew out. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and we were so impressed by how much he memorized the menu!! He even took pictures of us - appreciate his kindness and patience. Food: 3/5 (portions are small) Vibes: 5/5 Company: 10/5 (love my besties)
The space was just so aesthetically warm and inviting. Our waiter was friendly and the food was delicious. It's always good when the menu is limited so the focus is on a small set.
My friend and I had been wanting to try this place for a while and we were finally able to snap a Sunday evening reservation. The staff was lovely and we had a seat at the bar. We started with the cheesy fritelle which was delicious. Then we had the manicottini which came with mini meatballs and was absolutely fantastic. Last, we got the fish special for the night which came with a radicchio salad and while it was a little pricey it was divine and we paired it with the potato crochettes. This place did not disappoint and I would recommend it to anyone!
This place has been on the list for so long because the Quality Branded team never does it wrong, so it was great to finally get in and try it. Everything was so delicious! This place was very very delicious. 3 out of the 5 items stood out and the other 2 I'd skip! Our first server was exceptionally nice and gave us some good recommendations. The second server wasn't really engaged and so we were happy to have originally ordered with the first waiter. we got the: cheesy frittelle: which we could have skipped. It was a little dry but the insides of the orange blossom and saffron was very tasty. spicy tuna: an absolute must order. Crispy and fresh-- highly rec but wish it was a little larger of a portion. Lobster Triangoli which was the perfect taste with the white vodka sauce and pepper on top. The only wish would be that it came with 6 instead of 4-- a pretty expensive order for not a lot of food. steak magazzino: the star of the show!! something i've never had before but instantly became a fan. The meat was cooked rare but perfect with the little crisp ends with the anchovy crisp reminded me of the fried onions you'd get with albacore. Super impressive dish. finally we got the gelato viennese which was okay. This would be my second skip, but the dark chocolate was decadent with the nuts. Overall the 3 dishes outshined the other 2 but it was a great experience and the food quality was fresh and beautiful. I'd absolutely come back to try other items on the menu. thank you!!

Let me preface by saying that this is a 5 star dining experience, if value was not a criteria. Now, I realize this is NYC and as San Sabino is sister restaurant to the highly acclaimed next door located Don Angie, however portion sizes make it hard to fully justify value. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk food. I got to try the head on shrimp, the lobster ravioli and the prawn toast. Everything was so good, we just wish we had a little more of each of them. Make sure you ask for some toasted bread to wipe the sauce off the ravioli. Service was on point and fortunately it was a nice evening to sit outside. Can't wait to be back to try more of their pastas. read more

The food lacked the distinctive, memorable flavors that characterize essentially all of Don Angie's menu. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out and I felt that I could get comparable or better meals at much less popular restaurants. A few things we tried: *Cheesy Frittelle: Good, largely because it's a big fried pocket. The honey was a nice touch that added a bit of sweetness. *Lobster Triangoli: The pasta was cooked well and the cream sauce was nice, but was run of the mill. *Manicottini della Casa: Disappointing. It was on par with what you could find at any Italian-American restaurant. Nothing distinctive about the flavor, very middle of the road. Dined here to celebrate a birthday dinner and boy was this place packed. Good thing we had a reservation because on a Tuesday at 6:45pm there was a wait for walk ins. The restaurant itself felt like you were in the amalfi coast during summer and in need of an aperol spritz. Very fitting for a June birthday. The seating is a little tight so we were seated within earshot of our neighbors on both sides. Our server was knowledgeable about all the dishes and very helpful he went above and beyond with his details. For drinks, we opted for the Benny was their spicy prickly pear margarita and the glass itself that the drink was served in was beautiful. Drink itself was tasty. My companion ordered the mambo Italian and also enjoyed their drink although we didn't expect so many passionfruit seeds in the actual drink. After reviewing photos and reading reviews we opted for the spicy tuna and the crab and mortadella dip. First caution for you all. This restaurant is VERY lemon forward in all the meals so if you don't particularly like citrus, I would ask in advance for less lemon. Second caution is that there are multiple pictures of the crab and mortadella dip pictured in this deep dish with ritz crackers. This is NOT the case as those pictures of that dish is "outdated" and the chef had revised it to no longer be served with ritz crackers but with zeppoles. I was quite disappointed in this as I adore the idea of the ritz crackers and I felt that the new dish the dip was served in was a lot smaller than what the previous images led me to believe. This also ate more sweet than savory and was my least favorite dish of the night as there was not enough mortadella in the dip, the pepper jelly was sweet and the zeppole ate like a bunuelo which is typically a dessert based bread. The spicy tuna I enjoyed as it was crispy and the tuna was fresh but again very lemony which I liked, my partner did not. Now on to pastas which honestly was the saving grace of this meal as I was a bit underwhelmed with the starters. All 3 pastas we ordered were delicious in their own way. We knew we were going to order the lobster triangoli given the popularity. The sauce itself is thick but was served a bit lukewarm and I prefer my food served very hot temperature wise. The lobster itself was delicious with the chili oil inside however I would have liked it more stuffed given the price point and 4 pieces served. We wanted to try the Don Angie meatballs but opted for the manicottini Della casa after confirming that the same meatballs are used for that pasta at a smaller size. This pasta was absolutely amazing! The thicker rectangular shape was al dente and while the pasta looked like it was be thick it was perfect held the sauce well and the addition of the breadcrumbs added a great bite to the dish. It was hearty and flavorful and a must get. Now the pasta alle vongole had the most unique pasta shape I have eaten it in a while and was long and curly weirdly like hair but the aji Amarillo sauce was so delicious and while lemony, it complimented the clams and breadcrumbs and I would order it again. For dessert we ordered the gelato Viennese which was a chocolate tarte cake and had a thick sticky caramel with hazelnuts. It was hard but flavor wise so yummy and gelato in the center and it was nutty and crunchy and cold. We also ordered an americano and a cappuccino and the coffees came with a cookie which was perfect to dip it in. Now without me saying anything additional, our wonderful server also brought out a complimentary scoop of gelato for the birthday celebration and added a candle which was very nice. Overall this was a pleasant experience with the exception of the crab dip, and I would definitely ordered the last 2 pasta dishes and the dessert again. Bonus points if you have the chase sapphire you can use your dining credits at this spot. read more

San Sabino was one of my fav restaurants of 2025 so I had to come back to see if it stand the test of time. Once again, vibes were 10/10 and service was great. - Octopus carpaccio: 10/10 (light and fresh, perf to start off the meal) - Shrimp parm: 8/10 (I'm usually not a big parm girl, but my friend recommended me the shrimp parm at San Sabino so I had to try it. Loved the slightly spicy sauce and I'd say it def was one of the best parms I've ever had, but again I don't think I like parm) - Lobster triangoli: 10/10 (still a very solid pasta dish. This restaurant is definitely more seafood focused! Everything we tried was delicious Favorite item on the menu: Lobster Trangoli*! They're know for this and it was actually so delicious! The lobster was cooked in this very delicious sauce that was inside the Trangoli. Both the Stuffed Farfelle and the lobster Trangoli was bursting with so much flavor and depth. This seafood-focused sister restaurant to Don Angie has been on the top of my want-to-try list for a while, and food-wise it did not disappoint! Started with the Scotties Martini (garlic bread martini) which was maybe my favorite thing of the night. It was a savory girl's dream drink! For food, we tried the: -Spicy Tuna arancini (nice play on the classic spicy tuna and delish) -Tricolore Sabino (classic salad, kinda like a Caesar) -Stuffed Farfalle (my favorite dish of the night, love the tobiko on top) -Lobster Triangoli (also delish, don't skip their pastas!) -Don Angie Meatball Spiedini (this was just okay to me, but I'm also not a meatball fiend) -Pineapple Sorbetto (Best dessert! Literal perfection with the almond granita) -Caramelized Crespelle (a little too sweet for me, but very limey) Overall all the food was fantastic! Service was just okay though, had to flag someone down to order. A bit surprising, but maybe it was an off night. Definitely make reservations in advance. Walked in at 4:55pm and barely snagged a bar seat (had to be done by 6pm). The spot filled up quickly! The crispy tuna rice is a fun spin on a classic dish. As was the shrimp parm, it was delicious. They give you 3 pieces of each dish. The lobster ravioli is a common dish but it was only okay -- came out a little cold and was nothing special. My friend and I left hungry but glad we got to try this popular spot. read more
Sister restaurant to Don Angie, I was excited to try San Sabino. It is much easier to get into this restaurant if you, like me and most of nyc, find it impossible to get into Don Angie. Best way to get in is through Open Access Dining on Open Table. The ambience inside is very sexy and great for a girls night or date. Me and my friend ordered the: - cheesy frittelle (3/5) - spicy tuna (4/5) - stuffed farfalle (4/5) - lobster triangoli (4/5) - steak magazzino (5/5) - don Angie meatball (5/5!!!!!!) - caramelized crespelle (2/5) - gelato Viennese (5/5) The pastas were more seafood forward and delicious, but the meat is what really stood out to me here. The steak was fried with a crispy exterior and the most tender interior. Also THE star of the show to me was the meatballs. I found this particularly exciting because it was the only time I've seen a non-pork meatball option on the menu of an Italian place. As someone who doesn't eat pork I was excited to have my first restaurant meatballs! And it was delicious!!! Right next to Don Angie, and the space is even smaller, but brighter. Reservation is easier to snag. Food is really good, especially the Stuffed Farfelle. Bf and I shared two apps and two pasta and were very satisfied! read more

Came here on a Saturday night (30 mins before our reservation) and got seated at the bar. A really cute interior and friendly bartender My friend and I shared: Mussels (10/10) these were actually so good and beautifully plated Spicy tuna (7/10) not our favorite, we didn't finish this dish it was a little too spicy and was just a lot of one texture Octopus carpaccio (9/10) I really enjoyed the octopus the crackers underneath were a little thick Pasta alle vognole (10/10) so delicious! Lobster triangoli (9/10) really good and the sauce inside the ravioli mixed really well with the cream sauce on the outside! I got the Benny cocktail which was delicious and came in a really cute cactus glass and my friend ordered Scottie's martini which she really didn't enjoy but she did say it was very garlic bread-y read more

This is hands down my new favorite restaurant in the city. Everything from the staff, drinks, and most importantly, food were amazing. Our reservation was for outside which I was a little nervous about since OpenTable said there were no heaters. It turns out there are a few tables under heaters but some without. The hostess tried to get us a table inside which we really appreciated but ultimately unsuccessful. We had a cocktail inside and the vibes were immaculate. However, the food and drinks were so good we quite honestly forgot we were outside. For drinks, I had the Benny and my friend had the Scottie's martini. She was obsessed with her cocktail and I loved mine as well. I don't typically love martinis or olives but I tried hers and this one was very tasty and strong! Olives were stuffed with creamy feta which was good. For food, we shared everything so we could try a bunch of things which I definitely recommend. For apps, we got the cheesy frittelle, stuffed mussels, and spicy tuna. All were absolutely amazing but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be between the frittelle and mussels. For our mains, we got the steak and lobster triangoli which we loved. The shrimp parm was also highly recommended but we ultimately went with the steak because we felt the crispy outside was quite unique and were correct. this place lives up to itself-- the pasta was decadent, the ambience was up scale, and the service was cordial. The lobster triangoli. was a personal favorite of mine and paired wonderfully w the meatballs in my opinion. I wish the portions were a smidge bigger, but I took my roommate here for his birthday and we both enjoyed it greatly. Need to come back here and try the drinks soon-- Cheers! read more
If you get one thing here....let it be the Scottie Martini (garlic infused vodka, spicy brine and feta stuffed olives). It was the best drink I've EVERRRR had. All the food was amazing too, but I would come back to new york strictly for this martini. My favorite was the lobster ravioli dish we ordered. It was creamy and rich and everything delicious. The salad and octopus carpaccio were also great. I loved the ambiance on the inside. It felt very ~coastal italian~ Our service was amazing too. Our server over heard that we didn't love the first drink we ordered and while we offered to still pay for it, they happily took it off the bill and brought us something new. read more
Solid meal. Everything tasted good then I started to question the margins that they make on each dish. Octopus Carpaccio - very delicious. However am i tasting more of the cured capocolo meat or octopus. 5/5 Pasta alle vongole 5/5 Lobster Triangoli - how much lobster am i actually paying for. Anyways, it was very good. 5/5 Pepperoni Carbonara 1/5. Almost sent it back. They should remove this from the menu. Kind of ruined the meal. Shrimp Parm. Huge pieces of shrimp. Great invention. The cutest place with friendly staff. This is a place you can take a date, dinner with friends or solo. We went for dinner and ordered: spicy tuna, cheesy fritelle, stuffed mussels, lobster triangoli, pepperoni carbonara and the Don Angie meatball spiedini. Hands down my favorite dish was the lobster triangoli! Every dish was delicious, but definitely the lobster triangoli needs to be part of your order. While it's hard to get a resy here, the food is delicious. Food is definitely on the smaller portion size but it's best shared between a few people. Service was very attentive and accommodating. For food, I highly recommend their Shrimp Parm and Halibut! The shrimps are huge and the presentation is beautiful. read more
If you snag a reservation here, DOOOOO it! It was a perfect meal. The one thing I will say is that once you get to the pastas, you need to be selective because the acidity mix from the dishes may make you feel a bit uneasy. You WILL have a a lovely flavor trip though. The mussels and pasta vongole? 10/10. Had all the pastas and tbh they taste better than the shrimp parm if you have to choose. It's all still really good individually. The staff is incredible. They add so much to the experience and there's such a beautiful ambiance. A little pricey but it is what you expect. read more
This place is pretty darn good. Seafood by the Don Angie people. The menu leans Italian American (though isn't bound by it) and features creative takes utilizing fresh seafood. The stuffed farfalle here is incredible. It's savory, a bit crunchy, and filled crab. Delicious. The shrimp parm is a showstopper in terms of looks, though I found the dish itself to just be ok. Not a must order but fun. I really loved the stuffed mussels here as well. If you like seafood, you should come here. One of the more fun and interesting restaurants in the city. read more

I love the vibes inside of San Sabino - it's a shame it's so hard to grab a reservation. I went with a friend and we LOVED the deconstructed spicy tuna. The lobster pasta was good, but a little overrated. It is definitely on the pricier side - but is nice for a special occasion. The staff is also very friendly!! read more

Space is quite tight but the food and drinks were great. Our waiter was quite enthusiastic too :) As a party of 2, we shared: - Cheesy frittelle - 3 pieces, highly recommend. - Tricolore sabino - this was really good, had a nice something crunchy in it. - Manicottini: really good, but I preferred the pasta vs the meatballs - steak magazzino: this is a unique fried steak. Recommend trying this! - pineapple sorbetto: also unique and tasty! ...and then we were stuffed Oh the Benny cocktail was really good. TLDR: I love love love San Sabino. Something about their food just hits. The. Spot, every single time. Now that reservations are a BIT easier to snag, I'd highly recommend you get one asap. SETTING: corner restaurant space next to its sister Don Angie. Beautiful bar, lighting, and ambiance- though the tables along the perimeter are a little tightly packed together, they did a great job with the space. Perfect for smaller groups, dates, family dinner, just about any occasion. We came on a Wednesday for an 8:45pm res and were seated around 9:05. FOOD: the food here is amazing/it's one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Every dish is packed with flavor, texture, acidity, and more. The MUST haves for me are always the stuffed mussels (I get them every time), the stuffed farfalle (the sauce is crack.... I lick up every last morsel), and the crab and mortadella dip (unassuming, and served with Ritz crackers but so damn good). You really can't go wrong here if you are an elevated seafood lover. SERVICE; the hospitality here is always perfect. The servers are so nice and friendly always offering great suggestions. We were seated a bit late (waited out in the heat), and they comped us a baby margarita for the wait. They really know how to take care of their guests. VERDICT: I've been lucky enough to dine here 3x now and I know that San Sabino will always be on my list of favorites to go at least once a year / bring people who love food as much as I do.
