My reservation was originally for outdoor seating, but due to the unusually hot weather that day, we requested to sit inside and were seated at the bar instead. The tiny space was packed with diners, and Michelin-star accolades were prominently displayed throughout the restaurant, creating quite a bit of anticipation. Despite all the hype, however, I can't say the food truly impressed me. The dishes felt a bit too heavy for my taste, and I didn't particularly enjoy the vermouth either. The service was good, but the tight and crowded setting made it difficult for me to fully relax and enjoy the experience. I won't return for sure.

Ordered the yellow tuna, arroz negro, & skirt steak. All very good flavors, friendly service, & cozy ambience. On the pricier side, so did not leave feeling full, but would've had a full score otherwise.

Casa Mono is a small intimate spot with about eight tables and a few bar seats. Wine bottles line the walls, and the cherry wood tables/chairs give the space a warm homey feel. It's also an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs making all the food. Casa Mono also held a Michelin 1-star since 2017. Service was very attentive throughout the meal. Servers were constantly checking in, changing plates, clearing bread crumbs, and replacing silverware every couple of dishes. The pacing felt thoughtful and polished. What we ordered for 2 ppl: - Daily Special Shrimp: Three large shrimp with great texture and flavor. The sauce had a nice balance of tangy and creamy. A well-executed bite. - Razor Clams a la Plancha: Decent size with a rich, buttery finish. Slightly sandy, and not as sweet as I prefer. - Patatas Bravas: Firm with a creamy, savory flavor. The green onion added a nice lift. - Pulpo a la Plancha with Fennel and Grapefruit Ensalada: Crispy pan-seared octopus topped with minced olive paste, fennel, and grapefruit salad. Each component was simple on its own, but together the flavors balanced well. - Foie Gras with Cinco Cebollas: A favorite. Crispy sear on the outside, rich and buttery inside. The tangy sauce helped cut through the richness. - Duck breast with Maitake Mushroom and Miel de Jerez: Good flavor, but too chewy. Hard to fully enjoy because of the texture. Overall, Casa Mono delivers a refined dining experience with attentive service and thoughtful plating. Some dishes really stood out, while others fell a bit short for me, especially given the Michelin star and price point.

Still consistently outstanding and absolutely deserving of its Michelin star! Every visit delivers--flawless execution, bold flavors, and beautifully composed dishes. Standouts for me were the bone marrow, razor clams, and the creamy eggs with uni--pure indulgence and unforgettable. If I had to point out one miss, it would be the foie gras. The sauce was quite heavy and didn't pair as well as expected; a brighter balance--like apple or pear, as many restaurants do--would have elevated it. That said, this was a small hiccup in an otherwise exceptional dining experience!

Cute and cozy tapas spot! The space is quite small, but we only waited 30 minutes for a 2 people walk-in at 7PM on a Friday. We popped in across the street at Dear Irving for a drink, and our table was ready before we were done. The server recommended 4-6 dishes for 2 people, but we got away with 3 for 2 girls with normal sized appetites lol. Everything was delicious and we left quite stuffed. The drinks were great as well, would definitely come back.

Went for a birthday dinner. Each bite was fantastic and it was overall a wonderful experience. The bar seat has a perfect view of the cooks making each dish. Amazing place to go with a group of friends to try shareable dishes. Razor Clams a la Plancha - $32 9/10 - sauce is phenomenal and the oil tasted rich. would order again Crispy Pig Ears - $18 10/10 - Super fresh ingredients and very crunchy with generous portions. Would reorder. Foie Gras with Cinco Cebollas - $38 8/10 Doesn't taste like the French style, but the sauce is incredible. A bit sour, and too much on the plate. Was interesting to try but would not order again. Duck Egg with Mojama & Black Truffle Patatas - $25 9/10 - Hard to tell a duck egg from a regular egg, but the truffle was amazing and the cured tuna complemented it perfectly. It was not too fishy and just the right amount of salt. The potato and egg were simple, but the flavors together were fantastic. Would reorder Pork Belly with Fabada Asturiana & Pickled Mushrooms - $25 9/10 - The bean flavor is strong and the meat is very tender. I'm not a bean fan, but it's clearly well-made. Others enjoyed it more than I did. Would not order again. Iberico Lamb Chops - $40 7/10 - The lamb is very fresh but not particularly special -- you could make something similar at home. I didn't personally like the salad. It came with pistachios on the side, but my partner had an allergic reaction (unclear if it was cross-contamination or if some fell in while I ate it). The staff took our number to follow up and invited us back for desserts another day. Would not order again. Desserts (Second Visit) Tabla de Quesos - $18 8/10 - it comes with 3 types of cheese and 3 different jams/honey. very classic but nothing exceptional or unique about it. would not order it again Crema Catalana con Buñuelos - $15 9/10 - the bay leaf fritters compliments the dessert well and would reorder Pudín de Pan - $15 9/10 - i thought the ice cream tasted fantastic with the dish and i would reorder

For a one-star Michelin restaurant, I was expecting more. The vibe and service were okay, but the food did not meet my expectations. We ordered four tapas in total. The razor clams were delicious, although for people who do not like garlic, the flavor might be a little too strong. The creamy egg with sea urchin did not really work for me, as the two ingredients did not pair well together. The oxtail was over-seasoned and tasted like airline food. The confit goat was something special, I liked the sauce and the avocado, but not the meat itself. Overall, the red meat dishes were not as good as I expected, while the seafood was quite good.

My professor and his wife were in town and I knew they were treating me so I had to use the opportunity to try out a restaurant that I never have regardless of the price point lol. I originally wanted to go to Gramercy Tavern, but it was booked. I'm thankful that it was because this was such an amazing meal and now one of my favorites in the city. I honestly don't even know what we ordered, but everything was divine! A few callouts: The octopus, Skirt Steak, and lamb were perfection. The lamb may have been a special because I don't see it on their menu online, but the goat confit was both beautiful to look out and amazing in my belly! I was super happy with the service and the upbeat energy in the restaurant. We did get a few rude-ish energy from a hostess, but everyone else was wonderful and i'll be recommending this place to everyone!

Finally got to try this long standing One Michelin Star restaurant. Chase introduced a new Sapphire Reserve dining credit and this was on the list, making this a bit more affordable to be able to try various dishes. Reservation is required. It is a really small and tight space and the best seats are probably the tables by the window. My friend and I were seated in the middle tables that were strategically placed diagonally, but our elbows or tables was constantly being bumped by either the waitress or other guests. Also, we were seated right next to a couple that sounded like they were on a date, so there's really no room for intimate conversations. As you may expect from a Spanish restaurant, this is tapas style, so all of the dishes are small and meant to be shared amongst the table. Creamy Eggs ($30) - this is an egg soufflé with sea urchin (uni) scattered on top, ancient anchovy oil, and walnuts. Best full experience is if you eat with egg, uni, and walnuts in one bite. It's a very well done dish. Skirt Steak ($38) - This was a bit too well done to my liking, but still tasted good with the Romesco sauce and Onion Mermelada. Duck Breast ($40) - This was my favorite dish. The duck meat was prepared to perfection. Foie Gras ($38) - Loved the fattiness of this dish, which goes really well with the other ingredients. Chocolate con Galleta de Avellana ($15) - consists of chocolate ganache with olive-oil ice cream, shaved Ibizan chocolate, and a tahini-hazelnut-cookie crumble. This one I highly recommend for dessert. The ingredients are soo rich in flavor. Crema Catalana con Bunelos ($15) - This is a burnt vanilla custard with deep-fried bay-leaves. I wasn't sure if you can eat the leaves, so I took them out after biting into the fritters. It's different and enjoyed the creme brûlée part of the dessert.

Our first time at a michelin star restaurant and it was quite the experience! We didnt have reservations on a Wednesday evening but were seated immediately at the bar. There werent many tables and the space can be crowded, but honestly it didnt have a negative effect and made it seem more cozy (less fine dining, which I am ok with). They have an open kitchen so we had the pleasure of watching all the food get made and appreciate how efficient they are. Very calm, very controlled, not like the kitchens from Gordon Ramseys shows or the Bear. It was recommended to order 2-3 dishes per person. Our favorite dish was definitely the scallops! It was cooked to perfection, and paired really well with the green curry sauce and the minced cashews. The razor clams were also really good! Really garlicky, tender, and fresh! The other dishes were okay but not spectacular. I liked the pork belly but my gf thought we couldve skipped that, and she liked the duck and lamb but I thought they were okay.

Everything was absolutely spectacular! The sommelier was super helpful in guiding our selection of bottles to pair with the food. The razor clams, mushrooms, and octopus are a must!

The tapas here was really a wonderful experience. We weren't able to get a table reservation but thankfully snagged bar seats and honestly, I think that worked out perfectly! It was awesome to have a front row seat to the kitchen, the personalities of the chefs, and the cooking methods. My favorite dish of the night was hands down the pig ears- wow! What an amazing take on a part of the pig that isn't eaten often. It was salty, sweet, crispy, and soft, just perfection. I

Casa Mono is such a gem. The space is small and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it has that intimate neighborhood feel. I came on a weekend right as they opened and was able to grab a seat at the bar overlooking the kitchen -- an amazing experience on its own. The staff was incredibly attentive, warm, and on point the entire meal. It's truly a no-frills Michelin-level Spanish tapas spot. They start you off with complimentary bread and olive oil, which was a simple but nice touch, because who can say no to warm bread. Every dish I tried was absolutely phenomenal--complex flavors yet beautifully simple dishes in nature. I can't stop thinking about this place after going, and already planning my next visit because I want to try everything else on the menu!

There are no signs, and you walk up a set of steps and through a thick curtain to get inside. It's tucked into an old brownstone and very easy to miss. We went right around 7pm, and it was completely empty. That actually makes sense since Broadway shows start around then, so it's a great time to hit a bar or restaurant in the area. We sat at the bar. Service was a bit mixed. The bartender we had wasn't very friendly, but we did get our drinks without issue. We ordered a couple of Mexican mules and a martini. The martini was fabulous -- definitely the standout. Unfortunately, the mules were not great. I was also hoping for some specialty or holiday cocktails, but there weren't any. That said, the space itself is beautiful and has a cool, hidden-gem feel. The other staff we interacted with were very nice -- we just happened to get the grumpy bartender. Would I go back? Probably not, but only because there are so many other places in NYC I'd want to try. Still, it's a cool spot (if you can find it).

The bar is not marked by a sign either. What may have been a hidden secret in the past is not so much a secret these days. They take reservations over phone up to one week in advance. There's a number of tables and booth seating, and a few bar seats available for a walk in. The menu of food is pretty decent though lacking in many vegetarian or vegan options. I opted for a grilled cheese sans the bacon and it was good. The grilled cheese has goat cheese in it which may not be for every one. I had an aviation drink and a glass of riesling. The cocktail was pretty standard. The wine was good. Service was generally good and attentive at the bar. The host in the front was kind. It seems like they have a coat check which I did not use. There is one bathroom in the back. The bar is definitely more crowded pre and post theater. It was packed 5pm-7pm but around 7pm, it became noticeably quiet and the bar emptied out. I'd suggest coming here while a show is playing to avoid a crowd. However, even with a packed house, the bar was not loud. Of course, if you prefer a pre or post theater cocktail, I'd recommend a reservation to guarantee entry. While this bar won't be known for its drinks or food, I think much of the allure stems from the location and the reputation for attracting famous clientele. It's a pretty chill place in the midst of crazy Times Square, so I'd definitely come back. While it may attract some tourists (if they find out about it), it generally seemed to cater to the wider New York crowd (I.e Manhattanites but also Westchester folk, Long Islanders, New Jerseyans driving in, etc)

Instead of taking the review as constructive criticism and maybe improve their service, he decided to be hateful. The food was "nice" but not great. Didn't receive what we ordered, and service was nonexistent. The business owner's response is very disappointing. In late November, we went to Bacall's to soak up the holiday spirit. And my goodness, they was full of holiday spirit!!! From the moment we walked in, the inside was decked out with crazy amount of decorations. You go up the staircase to upper level to the main dining area. It was called Frosty's Christmas Bar inside the Bacall's, and it sure was spectacular. Decoration in every inch of the place, from top to bottom. In addition to that, they had a few photo-op spots, which were really fun too. We ordered some drinks, Meet Me at Bacall's, Espresso Martini, and White Sangria. I liked that they had some blueberries in the Meet Me at Bacall's and the White Sangria. All the drinks were all nice and tasty, and a good portion too. For food, one of us ordered Braised Short Rib, but we somehow received Filet Mignon... Since the server never really came back to check on us, we just had that. It was a nice dish, although it was not what we ordered. Linguini Vongole was nice, the pasta was cooked well, coated in the flavorful sauce. It had a good amount of clams. Steak Frites was tasty. The steak was cooked just the way I wanted, juicy and flavorful. It was a nice sized steak, very filling too. The fries were addictive, went great with the steak. For dessert, I was very interested in their layer cake. I saw a few pictures of it, and looked really good. Bacall's 16 Layer Cream Cake looked different from the pictures I saw, which was all ivory color. The one we received was festive with red and green, perfect for holiday dessert. Unfortunately, it only looked good. Each layer of cake was a bit tough, and not as creamy as I thought it would be. Good thing we also ordered Japanese Cheesecake, because it was quite good. I was very curious what makes it "Japanese" cheesecake. When it arrived, I got it. The cake was round and stacked on top of each other, looks like popular and famous Japanese soufflé pancakes. We had a fun dinner there, with overload of holiday decorations. The atmosphere was perfect to take in the holiday spirit. However, we couldn't say the same for the service. At the beginning, it was ok, but then we felt like we were forgotten by our waiter. The place was not that busy when we visited... He never really came by to check on us, or brough our check. We had to get whoever else around to get our check. When we saw that they already included 20% tip to the check, although there were just three of us, we understood the bad service. If they thought they are going to get 20% tip regardless, then they might think they don't need to provide good service... Bringing the wrong dish, never checking on us, etc. Regardless to say, we were disappointed with the service. But, it was a fun place to go visit during the holiday season.

Two criticisms: first, the tables are sort of jammed together, which isn't unusual in Manhattan, but the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable; second, while you can get bread, but you have to ask for it, which at midtown prices, I find a bit cheap. Pricing is typical for the area. The entrees, other than vegetarian, are between $30 to $42, while the appetizers are about a third cheaper. You come here to be near Broadway, have a great drink and enjoy the ambiance, the food is solid but not the attraction.

About 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday night there were some people waiting for the doors to open. Once we asked for a table, we were asked to step to the side so reservations could be checked in first. Luckily in a few minutes we were offered seats at the bar since they had full reservations that night. The bar was comfortable and the bartenders were great. I loved watching the cocktails being made and speaking of cocktails, they are excellent. The Bool included tequila, pomegranate and jalapeño; the other cocktail was a spritz of sorts and both were fabulous. The menu is Korean tapas, so we ordered a bunch of items to try. As each dish was served the server described the dish and even provided some instructions on the best way to eat it, if applicable. Tuna Tartare was quite good, the knife cuts were a bit inconsistent which was surprising given the level of everything, but the dish was still enjoyable; citrusy with crispy sunchoke chips. Oyster Mushroom Tacos were incredible. It didn't even feel like I was eating mushrooms. The tacos were so falvorful and balanced. If they ask you if you want to add a 4th taco to the dish, definitely say yes. Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice served with a beautifully runny egg brought the spice and the dish was both elegant and homey at the same time. Just wonderful Birria Mandu served in a bone marrow consume was spectacular. Fried Chicken Wings, we opted for the sweet and spicy version served with kimchi daikon were sublime and addictive. They also provided a wet towel with the dish so you can clean up afterwards. Those 5 dishes were a good amount of food to feel satisfied, but we couldn't stop there and needed to try dessert. Do not pass up the Black Sesame Bread pudding, it was sublime. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan with candied almond slices and ice cream. It was so unique and really really delicious. The whole experience from the hostess to the servers to the food was A+ and I can't wait to go back.

Came here on a Wednesday around 5:00 to have dinner before a show. Able to get a table right away…read moreand the servers asked about our show time so that we would have plenty of time. It's a cozy little space that doesn't feel too dark or cramped thanks to soft lighting and mirrors. The food was amazing! Kitchen staff was very accommodating to multiple allergies (nuts and dairy) and even made some changes so that the food would be safe to eat. We had the Brussels sprouts, oyster mushroom tacos (for person without dairy allergy), mushroom harvest bowl, and tuna tartare. All of them were excellent. I would definitely come here again!
