We stopped here for a drink before dinner. The place is really cute and cozy and service was really good and efficient. My drink was great and I love how they served the lemon served martini. Really creative

Bar Centrale is an awesome spot that is tucked away in brownstone walk-up. If you didn't know to look for it, you could (and would) walk past over and over. First note, make a reservation, they might have a few walkups or options for later in the evening, but you won't want to miss this night. First, the ambiance is quaint and cozy - perfect for a fall evening. The staff was excellent - from the hostess to the server to the busser - everyone was kind and welcoming. The cosmo was excellent, easy drink, but perfectly even with nothing standing out or being too much. They definitely pour heavy handed, but it comes out quickly, so don't get too crazy. We thought the food was excellent, although the menu is small we loved all of the food. Starting with the potato skins, I wish there were more because they were that good. The tacos & steak were both excellent. The portion size was perfect to not feel stuffed but not leave hungry.

Maybe a bit of a well-known secret spot. I loved my experience eating at the bar after I got out of a musical back in March. Such a perfect last night of my trip in NYC! And a nice solo activity. The pasta was so delicious, which didn't hurt.

We stopped in for a night cap drink at the bar and enjoyed it. After finding the hidden entrance with no signs, we were greeted by a cool atmosphere with a few empty bar seats. The menu wasn't huge but with a full bar, I'm sure you could order anything you wanted. The drinks are served in a tall glass with the rest of your drink in a smaller glass inside of a glass of ice.. it was interesting but a fun way to serve a drink. The dining room was dark and intimate which was a cool way to utilize an old apartment. You would never know this place existed behind these beautiful doors. We didn't try any food but we enjoyed our drinks.

Cute little spot hidden behind a plain apartment door. We didn't have reservations so they had us sit at the bar, which was fine, but I didn't like how they said the tables were already reserved for people coming later. We were there for 45 mins and the tables around us were still empty.

Came here after watching Betrayal at Jacobs Theatre. Unassuming entrance with no signage so easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. Inside was classy and upscale, but ambiance was rather chill. The cocktail menu consisted of a short list of the classics. I had the cosmopolitan, the presentation of which was quaint. The glasses were small but the drinks were strong. We also shared the grilled cheese and guacamole. The grilled cheese was delicious - the goat cheese and bacon bites were a nice twist to the classic. There's only one small, unisex bathroom but clean. Hostess and bartender were nice and attentive. Highly recommend making a reservation or go early to avoid the pre- and post-Broadway crowd.

A cute hidden gem with late night menu, a comfortable atmosphere. Pasta dish was perfect and what a treat to see some actors as well!

There was tons of soap, it smelled nice in there. The beer and shot special under $10 in the city? Haven't seen that in awhile. The beers are super cheap here as well. They feel like old NY prices! Can't complain. They have four booths in the back maybe it was three. I did notice one of the hanging lights was from an 80s pizza hut joint. Letting you know now the paper towels for your face at the table felt like jail toliet paper, very rough. The bar doesn't have bar stools with backs! You either need to get one or two tables by their mini kitchen, very hot there not recommended for preimenopause or menopausal women or one of the booths. The energy is right there, hovering, but it never actually lands. It's giving "almost iconic" but not quite--like a party that never fully starts. And that's what gets me. Because this bar could EASILY be that spot. The kind people plan their week around. Where are the themed nights? Where's the drama? The chaos? Give me a reason to come back on a random Wednesday. Do a city-event tie-in, a holiday takeover, literally anything that makes it feel alive instead of just... existing. Because right now it feels like a missed opportunity wearing a cute outfit. BUT--let's talk about the one thing they absolutely did not fumble: the view. The VIEW??? Insane. Genuinely stunning. The kind of view that makes you pause mid-sentence and remember you're in New York and not just spiraling in your own life choices. It's carrying the entire experience on its back, respectfully. So yeah. I'd come back... but mostly for the view and the potential. If they ever decide to actually do something with this space? It could be dangerous (in a good way). Until then, it's vibes... just not fully realized ones.
