From the moment we arrived, the staff at the door were super welcoming and encouraged us to try out their breaking glass activity. Check-in was quick and easy, and even though it was a full house for a Saturday night, we were still able to find seats without an issue. The space was definitely lively and a bit crowded, but there was still enough room to move around comfortably. Our bartender was really sweet and made great drinks , the cranberry vodka and Long Island were both spot on. We didn't pay extra for the additional glasses to smash, but the six cups included were enough to make the experience fun and satisfying for a casual night. SMASH! What a fun concept for a bar. The space itself is nice, feels mostly like a local sports bar with a bit of clubbiness (dim lighting, some music blaring). Pretty standard beers on tap, as well as cocktails and other drinks. Service was solid, there was one bartender staffing the entire place, and he did a great job. We were there during a sleepy Sunday afternoon, but our experience was great. And then the hook -- getting to smash glassware! You sign a waiver online, and then get a wristband that gives you access to a room dedicated to breaking glass. You can break the glasses from your finished drinks, or buy buckets of empty glassware solely for the purpose of smashing. Either way, it's so much fun once you get to the designated glass area. Well worth a visit for a standard bar outing with a fun bonus activity to take out some stress! read more

Omg I think I found my new favorite spot. Stumbled across this gem walking through the city and it did not disappoint! The premise is you smash your glass after drinks at the bar. We ordered the strawberry and jealous and it was sooo good. I had two it was THAT good. In order to smash the glass afterwards you need to sign a waiver. The place is usually packed by 8pm so I'd recommend getting there early. They played NSYNC and Linkin Park, just good vibes all around. This bar was such a good find! I would highly recommend it to anyone that is visiting the area. The fact that you can drink your drinks and collect all the glassware to then break it after it such a cool concept! I have not tried their food here so I cannot comment on that. However, the drinks here are pretty good and decently priced! Also the bartenders are super friendly and are pretty quick to serve you. They do a great job to make sure that everyone is getting their orders taken in a timely matter. Another bonus about this place is that they have a decent selection of board games you can play while you are drinking and hanging out. we traveled far to come here, I used to be a frequent customer here and loved this place! i'm quite upset with tonight's experience. the bouncer didn't let my 21 year old friend with a GOVERNMENT ISSUED temporary ID into the bar. (he also gave us trouble to a member of our party with her legal ID, who was the oldest of all of us. but besides the point) we left, and then went back in to speak with the manager (who is the bouncer) and he wasn't at the door. at least 5 people walked in without being checked. i found the bouncer at the bar and asked about this situation since this has been a plan for a while for us. when he said he doesn't accept the legal document, i asked where in the bar/establishment it states this rule and he said "every bar in new york." which is most definitely an incorrect statement since every other bar we've been to took us this place has never given me or anyone of us trouble. get a new bouncer stat. this is irresponsible and will push customers away. tried to have a reasonable conversation with the manager and it didn't go too well. he physically pushed her out. i LOVED this place and so do my friends; it's a unique and interactive activity that sets them apart from many other bars in the city. this interaction and hostility really spoiled the night. to add- the rudeness and attitude was very uncalled for. i get that both parties were frustrated but as someone who works in the industry, i know that behavior is not allowed and heavily discouraged. we were no threat to the establishment. please treat people with kindness and respect. we want to come back but only if we would be treated better. read more

I'll preface my review by saying this: this visit came at a very, very good time. My best friend had scheduled this visit to the wrecking club about two weeks in advance for just the two of us. It's appointment-based and you need to arrive 15 minutes before your start time to go over safety instructions and put on safety gear. Safety gear included the helmet, jumpsuit, optional boots (I used them because I didn't want to ruin my sneakers), and gloves--you're also provided plastic gloves and socks for hygienic purposes. The staff stress that if you are late, this will eat into your time, and since each session is 30 minutes, each moment is pretty precious. I believe they also have late hours, but we went towards the late afternoon. Our safety instructors were kind and diligent about what we could hit (the target wall, the items, and the mannequin) and what we could not directly hit (the other non-target walls, the floor). During our session (which I think was the smallest package), we were provided with two bats, two crowbars, and a sledgehammer. We kind of played with everything but with the sledgehammer being too heavy, we both mostly stuck with bats. We were also given two keyboards, a mannequin, ten glasses (in total), and a fax or copy machine (I couldn't tell or care what it was; I was there to SMASH). To make everything better, they have a speaker where you can play music to pump you up. YOU CANNOT SMASH THE SPEAKER. The speakers are set up for both iphones and android phones. It was such a release to break and beat things. My keyboard laid in ruins; I felt great about it. My friend preferred throwing the bottles and I preferred batting them into the target wall. The safety instructors look through the camera and check up on you if they are concerned. It was very much appreciated. They have a tip jar but also have their cashapp/venmo listed on the wall. After our thirty-minute session we left, feeling physically and emotionally relief. It's a real workout so we both were sore for days after. I strongly recommend bringing a change of clothes and only wearing light clothes under the jumpsuit; trust me, you get very sweaty. All in all, highly recommend, especially if you hear some news that really ticks you off. we didn't try the drinks but probably would next time. I will definitely return. read more

We wanted to get a few drinks before going to a comedy show and found this little dive by our hotel. We were able to snag two seats at the bar near the kitchen. Our bartender looked like she had only been working there two days, but she was all smiles and had a very heavy pour. So, we decided to settle in and have some appetizers. About 20 minutes into the worst bar pizza I think I've ever had, I hear a loud smash coming from the back like someone just dropped a whole tray of ceramic dishes. Then after I had two and a half more drinks to get the taste of that nasty pizza out of my mouth I hear it again, only louder. This time I looked at the bartender and said, "Damn, sounds like the kitchen staff are kind of clumsy tonight." She laughed and pointed towards a back room called the "Throwing Range". I somehow missed the big sign. Turns out the bar has a policy for every beverage you purchase you can sign a waiver and go to the room and hurl your empties against the wall. I looked down at our collection of eight empty cocktail glasses. I thought about the $15 I just wasted on that pathetic pizza. Then I asked for a waiver...and a couple of extra complimentary glasses. *** Side note: Later that week I was in a specialty grocery store in Brooklyn and stumbled across the brand of frozen pizza they served us. And all I could think was here we are in possibly the pizza capital of the world and here they are serving frozen pizzas. We had a good time, but I had to take a star off for that. read more

Came here for the first time with some coworkers for a team event. FANTASTIC as a stress reliever as a team. We ordered some food and plenty of drinks. The food was OK. It's bar food, so some greasy bites that'll fill you up, but nothing that's really what I'd call delicious. The drinks were also OK. Definitely a little on the pricier side of NY, but considering you're paying for the cup to smash too, i think it's worth it. Bartenders were not super quick, but they handled the rushes well, so that's good. Honestly, the best part and saving grace of this place is how much fun you can have breaking the bottles and shot glasses. They were also kind enough to provide a little extra empties to smash for fun! Come for the fun. Not for outstanding food/drinks. Just the fun makes this worth it. Interesting concept for a bar. After you're done with your drink, the bartender rinses your glass out so you can break it. You have to sign a waiver and wear safety glasses in the break room. The room is set up almost like a shooting range, with targets and piles of previously shattered glass behind a half-wall divider. It's a super fun experience, especially with a small group of friends. My only complaint is that it's more fun to break multiple glasses but the drinks aren't amazing and are kind of watered down. The pizzas are also very dry and small. I wouldn't come here regularly but I would definitely bring my friends who have never been, for a unique bar experience! read more
