Came to the Monarch Rooftop with coworkers on a Friday night hoping to vent and dish all the work gossip! Haha we wanted somewhere with nice views, and a fun vibe along with a cocktail list. Well we got it all. We ordered a bunch since we were a group of 8 and they only offer small plates. We went with the chips & guac, Thai chili wings, truffle fries and margherita pizza. The guac was excellent!! I didn't love the pizza - it was a little lackluster. The cocktails were on point and the service was very attentive! My only gripe was that we sat right in front of the DJ and for a table of 8, we had two small end tables for all our food/drinks. Made it hard to have conversation and there wasn't a lot of room. I would definitely come back during the summer in hopes of a sunset view but with a smaller group!

Rooftop bar with an indoor and outdoor part - the staff wandered by periodically to help the group with more drink/food orders, but took a while between the rounds. Very small tables to put food and drink on, almost like little round stools to sit or put food on... which led to a broken glass and someone came over to clean it up immediately. On a nice day, good view of the Empire State. Some of the drinks were less than exciting, but they did give the birthday girl a free glass of champagne! Sofa wasn't too comfortable nor the little round seats with no backs. Dress code a touch on the more formal side according to reviews, but there were guys there with shorts and boat shoes... you get checked at the door for ID and then up an elevator with a guy using a security card (the rest of the building is a hotel).

My friend suggested this place to meet up, but little did I know I already had it bookmarked! We walked in and the elevator was broken/not working so we had to wait for the hotel elevator to go to the rooftop. A sign would've been nice, but instead we had to ask the hostess how to get to the rooftop. Luckily we walked in and was able to get a sofa lounge table outside! No standing tables for us and the weather was perfect! A little breeze here and there and they had umbrellas for shade which actually worked so the sun wasn't blinding us. Lots of seating inside and outside! The menu is your typical rooftop bar, but they had astrological margaritas! I thought that was so cool considering I wanted to go to astrological bar in Brooklyn the previous day. Unfortunately, I don't like tequila so I didn't partake. I got both the spritz - passion fruit spritz & peach spritz. They were both refreshing as they sound! The main reason why I'm giving this rooftop bar a 5 star is the view. Absolutely stunning view of the Empire State building. I did wish we went at night, but our schedule did not permit. I was still content with what we got. They were playing house music, so this place was exactly my vibe. This was the perfect little wind down in the midst of our touristy day before we continued the night with even more touristy excursions. I loved this place so much, I recommended it to 2 of my other friends and they loved it just as much!

We celebrated my sister's birthday here on Saturday 11/22. Our server was on top of it! She was amazing. Drinks were delicious. The view was spectacular. Ambiance was nice and the DJ was on a good one! We had such an amazing time. This place will be saved to my NY trip itinerary for next time. Cannot wait to visit again.

Another rooftop checked off my list, which I will visit again. Had a great time, and our server was awesome. Food and drinks were good; if you like your drinks strong, this is the spot. Great views of the Empire State; recommend going late so you can see the light show at midnight. Get a reservation so you can get a table. They also have a dance floor by the bar area, and the DJ was playing a good mix of music, which I was bumping to. The downside, hence the four stars, is after 10PM if I recall was the kitchen is closed, so only drinks are available. Overall had a great time and will drop by again.

A gorgeous rooftop bar. Visited in March so the greenhouse is still up, they take it down in May when the weather gets better. Weather was around 50 but it was HOT and bright in the greenhouse. Make sure to bring shades. Waitstaff was very attentive and encourages you to walk around the venue to enjoy the view. We ordered: Margarita (3.5/5) - strong but flavorful Boneless buffalo wings (5/5) - a nice thick crispy layer and meaty bites. Coated in just the right amount of sauce. Exactly what you want in a buffalo bite. Monarch Beef Sliders (5/5) - oh my my these sliders were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Comes in three and sadly I had to share. Highly recommend if you want good views of the city and to visit a nice elevated rooftop bar.

Excellent spot foot a drink after a long work day to unwind. Best to come with a companion. The Ambiance is even better than I remember and the service is great. The food bites were good and there was a great selection of items to choose from. The tequila drinks that were made for me initially was weak. I had to change drink options and went with the old fashioned to get a buzz going ...

09/20/2024 Greetings and Salutations Attended a birthday happy hour. As with prime time things can be busy. With that said ordering and receiving food and drinks a bit delayed. However, great views of Empire State Building. Bar bites exactly that..bites as compared to other bar bites. They however were tasty. If looking for a cool chic rooftop with nice views check them out.

We only came for drinks we stayed for the view and vibe. The ambiance, people, everything! New York has that special vibe! Nothing can be wrong we you are sipping tequila while you have Empire State in front of you.

I'd give this place a 3.5/5 stars. We got there upon opening and after researching this spot, we decided to come here since according to their online menus, they had great "Sunday deals" which included a football oriented deal and a happy hour. When I asked the server she said that "those specials aren't active until the new year"? (we went on the last Sunday of 2024) If that was the case then that should've definitely been stated online. Bites were simple yet pricy for what you get. Cocktails were pretty good though and the view was nice.

Bartenders were weird. They blatantly ignored me and my friend we were trying to order a drinking, so the other bartender and they gave us a funny look. Other than that the view is nice and music was good and we had a good time dancing. Just didn't appreciate the first part and don't understand why we received it.

I stayed at this hotel and it was like night and day when I went to the rooftop . It was a beautiful scene I can see the Empire State Building from the rooftop. The only problem for me was that when we asked for the attire they said business casual no sneakers or shorts . So we got dressed up and then we start noticing people coming to the rooftop all laid back with sneakers and shorts some even look like they were coming from the gym . The drinks were good and so was the service .

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. The moment you step inside, you're transported to the Victorian era, with ornate details and charming décor that make the entire space feel like an experience in itself. We stopped in before a show without a reservation and, while the dining room was full, we were able to grab seats at the bar. Honestly, I think it worked out for the best--the bar felt more spacious than the table seating and had a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon. The mocktails were as creative as they were delicious, and the cocktail menu offered plenty of tempting options as well. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and impressively efficient, striking that perfect balance of great service without constantly interrupting your conversation. We shared the sliders and the summer salad, and both were generously portioned and perfect for splitting. Between the beautiful setting, excellent drinks, and seamless service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to.

Defiantly make a reservation for this one but you might get lucky to just walk in. Super stunning atmosphere and took amazing photos inside. Drinks where fabulous and a great wine selection. I would recommend their lobster ravioli and we shared their tuna tartar. Good idea to get to this place early as service was a bit slower. We waited 25 minuets for our second round of drinks and ultimately had to cancel them as we had our show to attend.

A diverse space that is as much a spot for business as it is for the Party as the DJ stand indicates. Oh, and gold. Gold everywhere. Super fun spot that still maintains super crisp, clean program. Clean, rooted and martini driven. No bonobos here, just well manicured martinis that are built for the pallet, not the instagram grid(but, hey, they're pretty damn photogenic, too)

My only two gripes with the spot were - they didn't acknowledge my birthday, even with a happy birthday from my server or the hostess. I am not sure why Resy prompted me to indicate the occasion if it wouldn't even be acknowledged or looked at. It obviously feels good to feel celebrated, so they dropped the ball in this regard. The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving! I would come back for more of a going out event instead of a sit down dinner, but it's a cool spot!
