Okay, I loved this location! Let me break it down so you can have a 10/10 experience too. First: Make a reservation! While you may be able to walk in, I wouldn't risk it. The restaurant does fill up, and you could end up waiting or not getting seated. The drinks: I highly recommend the $30 bottomless mimosas! They have a lot of different options to choose from, and my personal favorite was the lychee. The food: Delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. They have a great variety of options, from savory to sweet, and the portions are pretty generous. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant, which came with a salad, and everything was delicious. The view: BEAUTIFUL! You get an amazing view of Manhattan because the space is open enough to take in the scenery, but it's still covered, so you don't feel like you're sitting completely outdoors. It makes for such a nice dining experience. The service: Our service was good, and the host who greeted us was especially funny and energetic, which was a great way to start the experience. Even the security guard was super nice and helpful. Overall, this is a beautiful location with great food, drinks, views, and a fun atmosphere. I definitely recommend checking it out -- just remember to make that reservation first! read more

Came here for brunch with a friend, and I really liked the overall vibe. It's a pretty space and a nice spot to catch up, although it did get pretty loud later on, so we had to speak a little louder. The food was just okay for me. The menu felt a bit limited, and a lot of the dishes seemed pretty similar despite having different descriptions. The flavors were also fairly average. read more

Had brunch over the weekend with some friends at "The Glass Ceiling." First off, I'd highly recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance because time slots do fill up quickly, especially during brunch hours. In addition, they don't accept anyone without reservations. The rooftop dining room is pretty spacious with lots of booths and tables, as well as a bar section. There is also a small section for outdoor seating on their patio. The natural lighting shining through the glass, floral decorations, and city view make this a great place to dine, as well as take many wonderful pictures. Ambiance rate: 9/10. My friends and I ordered... 1. Mimosas: - Lychee - Orange Juice - White Peach All mimosas were good; it wasn't too strong, nor too sweet. Rate 7/10. 2. B.E.C., Pleeeeease This dish was yummy and flavorful. Rate 7/10. 3. Ooo-la-la omelette: This was mediocre considering I barely tasted any truffle and it was a small dish for an expensive price. Rate 5/10. The staff were friendly, however the service was extremely slow. It took about 30-45 minutes for our dishes to come out which was essentially just eggs, so it's not like they were super intricate to make. Staff/service rate: 5/10. Overall, this rooftop had a nice ambiance, but there's definitely other rooftop bars in the city that are way better in terms of food, service, and views. read more

Came here unexpectedly one night. The guards out front were nice and were able to let us know if their kitchen was closed before we went up. There was a small private event going on but we were still able to get a table for 3 right away without a reservation. The place is spacious and wasn't crowded. The host greeted us very warmly. Where we sat we had a good view of the top of the Empire State Building. Our drinks were good and our food was even better, and it didn't take long to come out. I had the out of control drink, it was delicious. Lychee and coconut. For food we ordered the Not the Margherita pizza. It was fresh, delicious, and the crust was thin. We also got the spicy tuna and lobstah crispy rice. Both were delicious. We ordered the lobstah one 2x. They give you ample lobster and tuna. The spicy mayo is very good. It was a nice night and we enjoyed our meal here. This is a cute place for a date night. Music was good and it wasn't too crowded or loud. read more

I thought our server Andrew was accommodating and the perfect vibe for our group. We did bottomless drinks for brunch and boy did we have our fill. The food itself was solid, nothing extraordinary but not bad. For mimosas I only drank the orange because the other juices seemed too think. My friend got the cranberry sage which didn't blend into the drink. It sunk to the bottom. If you go in winter it is a little cold. But this spot is for sure a good time. read more

While visiting a friend in NYC, my friend wanted to check out this spot and you get a really great view of the skyline. We ended up going on a dreary, drizzly day, so we could not sit on the patio but I really enjoyed the fact that the space felt super airy and light! There was an event that was being set up next to our table, but it wasn't really disruptive. It was really cool to see that the space was allowing a hosted event like that, even though their bar area was getting pretty full. We went around 430-5pm to catch happy hour and it was absolutely lovely! It was fairly easy to find, once you figured out the entrance, and getting to the roof was pretty simple. Everyone was super friendly and the drinks were pretty good. I didn't get any food but would love to come back and check it out more thoroughly! read more

Glass Ceiling Nomad has a lot going for it -- the location is convenient, and the rooftop space is definitely the highlight. It's a nice atmosphere for drinks and hanging out, especially if you're looking for a casual rooftop spot in the city without anything too over-the-top. The food we did receive was solid and overall pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was service-related: our order for the main courses was somehow lost, and we ended up waiting a long time before realizing they were never coming. By that point, it really put a damper on the experience. The staff was apologetic, but it was still frustrating, especially since it disrupted the flow of the meal. Overall, it's a decent spot for the rooftop and location, but the service mishap kept it from being a better experience. read more

My friend picked this place for its convenient location and for the view of the Empire State Building which you can see when sitting on the patio or near a window. The space is airy and feels very open, even indoors, given that almost the entire restaurant is made of glass. We started with the house chips with whipped ricotta, and I had the chicken kebab bowl for my entree. While the food was solid, I'd definitely go more for the views than for the food. Friendly service. read more

Came here simply for a drink on a whim during happy hour as it was close to our dinner reservation at Hangawi. It's fairly nondescript as you have to enter what looks like a small office building and take the elevator up. Once you make it up, then you get the airy feel of being up on the rooftop. Not knowing that you can't just grab drinks at the bar, we were seated for drinks. We had a small table that looked over a random building. Had a drink and that was it. I know most people's reviews are either in the evening or during brunch, so I can't attest to that. I will say the bathroom was clean, though I'm sure it gets packed during the busy hours. read more

For Mother's Day Brunch we sat outside which could use a bit more ambience...there was nothing on the tables other than a couple of spots that they assured us weren't bird poo. The restroom situation is also quite rough with just two which are unisex and one and at time so there was always a line whenever one of us went over and at 1PM the garbage cans were overflowing and the state of cleanliness was severely lacking. Our waiter Marcus was phenomenal. He went out of his way to recognize the two moms and kept the bottomless drinks flowing. Other than the water refills he was on top of everything else. Was not a fan of the DIY mimosas, the juices weren't great. The sangria was a bit tart and tasted more prosecco than wine based. Meals though were all good, most especially the creme brulee french toast. Would most likely return. read more

lovely waitress but management tried to downplay a rodent issue (we saw a mouse running around the rooftop) by being condescending and patronising about a rodent running around a restaurant and bar. His solution was to offer a weak lemon drop shot while making us feel stupid about bringing up our serious hygienic concerns. read more

After going to 2 other rooftop places in the same neighborhood both not open yet ( they open at 5/6pm - they should really open earlier imo), I stumbled into this venue which is close to our dinner reservation. It had a speakeasy feel , located in a small building on the top floor (4th). I didn't think it Would be as nice , It's a good surprise , it's a place for a drink or two with a view of the Empire State ( better at night ). I like the open concept and airy atmosphere. If you decide to sit in the small outdoor area, it's facing the virgin hotel that has a gorgeous terrace . Inside in the middle has inviting couches , nice furniture . The seating outside could use some work, better decoration , etc . Good spot for a quick drink . Service is above average , friendly . read more

Swung by here for a corporate after party. The host was super accommodating given the large rush. The aesthetic and lighting were pretty rad, not the best views in Manhattan but a chill vibe overall Not sure who the bartender was that night but the cocktails reigne din heavy. Which could be a good thing or bad thing when mustering up the courage to speak to clients. read more

We came here for breakfast because the rooftop views looked beautiful, and while the atmosphere didn't disappoint, the dining experience did. My sister ordered the avocado toast and I ordered the salmon toast. When our food arrived, both pieces of bread had lint or fibers stuck to the bottom. We brought it to the staff's attention, and they remade both dishes. Unfortunately, the replacement plates had the same issue, so we decided not to eat them. What was most disappointing was that, despite the food being inedible twice, we were still charged for our drinks and bottled water. We understand paying for what you consume, but after receiving two rounds of food with the same problem, we expected the restaurant to handle the situation differently. The rooftop itself is nice, but the food quality and the way this issue was resolved left us disappointed. I hope management takes food quality and customer service more seriously moving forward. read more

I loved this place! The hostess and wait staff did seem to be a bit uppity, but the bartender was terrific and was busting her butt for the entire restaurant. First, lets start with the ambience. I thought the spot was very Cutesy! From decor, to vibes, immaculate . We came on a rainy day and it really set a very calm and enjoyable ambience. The Host in the front was super friendly and he was very welcoming. We were seated and we were greeted by the waiter, Andrew. This is where things go south. We were given the menu, and we needed a couple more minutes to decide. We told him we needed that and so he left. He comes back a few moments later and we asked him what he recommended (he gave us options). So the three of us were deciding amongst ourself what we wanted (based on his recommendations). I guess this offended him?! He then says in a really rude and condescending tone "ummm, im right here ladies, you can speak to me". I have never been too stunned to speak. I thought this was so rude and we felt rushed to order. He then proceeds to apologize after realizing how rude he was being by saying "sorry if that was rude". We decided we would not judge this place by this experience. Maybe Andrew was having a bad day. But throughout our time there, he continued to speak to us in a condescending way. When we finished our food and he came over to pick up plates, we tried to help him tidy up the plates and give it to him. He responded to that by telling us "you can hold on to that and just give me that" (regarding our plates). Idk it was very off putting the way he was speaking to us. To top it off, we were given the bill and we were accidentally overcharged, but we understand that mistakes can happen. On the other hand, Edgar the busser was amazing. He should be a waiter instead. He made our experience all the better. Now onto the food, we got the smash burger 10/10, flatbread Margherita 10/10. The B.A.L.T was good but the sourdough was tough. With that note, i still think that this place has lots of potential and deserves a shot. Just, please be compassionate and kind to others. amazing service the staff was attentive and the food was amazing. Everything was nice and warm

This was, hands down, the worst brunch I've ever had - and my two friends agreed. The space itself has so much potential: a rooftop greenhouse vibe that could have been amazing. I started with a latte that was burnt - never a good sign. My friends and I wanted the frittata without mushrooms, but the server said it couldn't be modified because it was "pre-mixed." Still not sure what that even means. We ended up ordering the hummus, pita, and egg plate, which was inedible. The eggs didn't taste real - more like the powdered kind you'd get at a cheap motel breakfast. The hummus and pita were passable, but everything else was awful. It's no surprise this place had plenty of availability on a Saturday for brunch. read more

I was shocked when I saw that Glass Ceiling had reservations available for a table on a Friday night in December. Seems like this place is a solid kept secret because the ambiance is warm, moody, very "New York City." It is quiet, dark, romantic, has a spectacular view of the Empire State Building - but be careful, their drinks aren't for the faint of heart! They're absolutely delicious, but they do have a true and generous pour. I recommend getting something to eat while sipping on cocktails. I highly suggest grabbing drinks and a bite here for happy hour, maybe before the Rangers game or a concert - it's close to MSG, a few blocks away, absolutely worth it! read more

We, a group of 12, celebrated a milestone birthday for one of us and had an amazing time. We were seated in a corner that offered complete privacy and plenty of space for everyone. From every seat, we enjoyed outside views, including the Empire State Building, through the glass roof above. Our drinks, each one superb, were served and refilled promptly, and all the food we ordered was excellent. Our birthday guest was greeted with a sparkler and complimentary dessert for the entire table, along with celebratory shots. Glass ceiling had a great ambiance. The waiter was very nice and efficient. It has beautiful views of the city, and comfy seats. However, the host was a bit rude upon our arrival. We had booked a table for 10pm, about an hour before that. I was supposed to come here for my birthday brunch with friends but I'm so glad I didn't! Come for the views and ambiance but not for the food. I can see how this place could be fun for drinks and mimosas but definitely not for meals. Food is super overpriced for barely anything. I spent $32 for 3/4th of a lobster roll that was more stuffed with slaw than lobster and don't even come with fries (had to pay extra for like 12 house chips). Don't come here hungry! Came in for a quick bite to eat with a coworker. The ambiance is great and there's a beautiful view of Empire State Building. As we arrived we were greeted right away by the manager, Salestra who is absolutely amazing and such a lovely person. We were sat right away and greeted promptly by our server, Andrew who is another gem. He was attentive, made a great suggestion to try the bottomless red sangria, which we loved. We had the Mediterranean Bowl and Smashed Avocado Toast which I completely forgot to take a picture of because it was delicious and we ate it right away. Beautiful space. Good food. Poor service. Con 1: I made a reservation and confirmed it when they texted me yet when we showed, they had no record of it. Con 2: our server was terrible. She barely came by the table, and we waited about 45 minutes from having the table completely cleared and being ready to go before she ever came by to give us the check. She was nice, but very slow and not very knowledgeable. Con 3: they were completely out of sangria, which is part of their bottomless menu and the primary reason we came. They were also out of some of their mock tails. Pro 1: very good food. The drink options we did have were great and fun and the food was delicious and reasonably priced Pro 2: great space and atmosphere. It's a really nice rooftop with various seating options. There's also a nice little photo spot with the Empire State building behind it. read more

I've been wanting to visit Glass Ceiling since they opened but never had the chance until now! My coworkers picked this spot for drinks and small bites. Upon entering it was just as nice as the photos. Super airy and it fits the garden theme. We were seated immediately in the terrace area. It wasn't busy at all but that's to be expected since it was a Tuesday. We were greeted by the waitress immediately. She was attentive and quick. We ordered drinks and I LOVED the Find Your Light. I had 2 more rounds. To eat we shared the House Chips, Prosciutto Flatbread, and Chicken Kebab. I didn't care for the House Chips so I didn't have it but my friends said it wasn't anything crazy. Pretty overpriced for it. Might as well get the guac and chips at that point. There's more to it. I'm not even a big fan of prosciutto but the flatbread was pretty good. The taste wasn't too strong which is why I usually don't like it. All the ingredients balanced well and wasn't too much. We finished it so quick. I really liked the chicken kebab. I've never tried couscous and I enjoyed it a lot. Everything had lots of flavors. The little salad tasted very fresh. I wish the portion was bigger for everything though, especially for the cost. The place got busier throughout the rest of the night. There was a big table next to us that treated us to another round. It was a very fun vibe toward the end of the night. I'll be back! read more
