My husband and I came here for drinks and appetizers before a show. We had the shrimp cocktail and sliders. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. My husband got a glass of wine, and I got a bay breeze. Again, nothing fantastic, but just fine. I knocked off two stars because we specifically came here for the view, but the entire front area was closed off due to a private event so we had no view. We did go out onto the back patio when we were done, but it was very small. We thought the pricing was expensive for food and drinks that were just fine. Also, service was incredibly slow. Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday, and we were seated promptly but literally could not find people working for ordering or asking questions about the menu. There were also simple things like we ordered coffee, but it came out without cream/sugar or the burger came without condiments. That aside the food was great! We had the beans and chips(they only come with three chips so you have to order more for $5), the impossible burger(yummy but doesn't come with fries), the shakshuka, and hummus which all were well made. Also had bottomless mimosas(think they also have Bellinis and sangrias). For a group of 4 we ended up spending ~$300. We also sat in the long hallway which may have been out of site. My friend and I went here for the bottomless brunch. It wasn't very busy, but the service was very slow. They gave us carafes of the mimosa bellini and peach sangria. We would often run out before the server would come by and have to flag them. The servers seemed more interested in socializing with each other. We had the "egg in hole" croque madame and it was a bit dry. I would have liked the side salad to be dressed, but did like the cheddar crisps. The shakshuka was very bland, however the bread was crusty and nicely toasted with olive oil. The vibe here was not very exciting. There was no music playing when we initially got there. They did have a live band that started played latin music about an hour into brunch, but the band did not seem very happy to be there and were not friendly. Elsie Rooftop lost my jacket and then ghosted me for five weeks. On February 28th, their coat check handed my Canada Goose parka ($1,775 retail) to another guest. When I went to pick it up at the end of the night, it was gone. Staff confirmed the mistake right there. It was freezing outside and they wouldn't even help me get a ride home. That part still gets me. What followed was five weeks of broken promises. The manager, Christian Morasco, kept telling me he'd "update me asap," "by this evening," "by tomorrow afternoon," "by today." Not once did he actually follow through. They admitted it was their mistake, opened an insurance claim, asked me to send over purchase documentation to "help expedite" things... and then just went dark. I've filed a police report, disputed the coat check charge on my card, and sent a formal demand letter via certified mail. No response to any of it. The views up there are nice. The accountability is zero. If you check a coat here, understand you might not get it back, and management will not make it right. read more

Although, it being a rooftop bar semi-justifies the price since you're paying not only for the drinks but for the view! Came here for a corporate event. The actual outdoor rooftop space is not that big. However, as the night went on, I found out how much more space there was when you do go behind the main bar. The Mother's Day Brunch appeared to be the same menu and options that are normally $45 but we paid $30 more pp=yikes. Upon arrival a spot on the outside was not available but the hostess did work to get us out there within about 20 minutes or so which we very much appreciated. Portions were small. Food was good although it took a while to come out. The carafes of bottomless mimosas were great. Liked the vibe. All the staff we encountered were all super nice and they didn't rush the 90 minute mark. Restrooms are like airplane size and one was out of order. I learned that the Elsie Rooftop had a Y2K Emo party on a recent Saturday afternoon and was super interested in checking it out, as I love all of those pop-punk tunes! We found the office building in which it was located, and the doorman advised us on which elevator would take us up to the 25th floor. When we arrived, the gracious hostess confirmed our names on the list and sent us towards the back end of the place, walking right past the bright and stylish main bar. The back room was spacious and had a ton of cozy couch areas, but was definitely more dark and mysterious. We grabbed a couch and hit the small bar to make the most of the 2 hours of drinks that were included in our ticket cost. The alcohols to be used for the cocktails were all of a top shelf level, which was awesome! However, my two tequila and club sodas were very strong, and I found my Aperol Spritz too sweet and herbaceous. So, the liquor was of good quality, but the ratios of the mixed drinks were a bit off. Regardless, the bartender and rest of the staff were so nice. Plus, the DJ was playing all of my favorite hits, so I was fine just enjoying the moment. I also was pretty hungry, so I ordered a platter of Avocado Toast off of the brunch menu. Sourdough toast had been cut into small triangles, topped with mashed avocado, pomegranate seeds, and drizzles of oil. It was not the most elaborate rendition of the dish that I had ever had, but it was perfectly fine. Overall, we had an enjoyable afternoon singing along to memorable tunes and imbibing in some boozy beverages. How does a single lady spend love love day? At a really cute enclosed rooftop w/ friends. Love is an everyday occurrence to me, but one day it's thrown in your face. So much so you may not be able to get a table anywhere. However, we were in luck and made reservations the day before for 4. The location was definitely nice, had a good hangout vibe and great views. Sadly, that's all it was for us. The food was pretty bland and the drinks were the same. I've had rooftop bites that make me wanna go back...not the case here. Yesterday was the warmest day in NYC in 2024 so far, so it was time for a rooftop moment! My friend and I walked in without a reservation. They have bar seating and some lounge seating, as well as outdoor bench-type seating for walk-ins. The bartender was so friendly and welcoming! I ordered the Victorian cocktail. It was perfection! You couldn't even taste the alcohol (and I saw him put a good amount in)! The passion fruit flavor was so refreshing and it is a perfect spring/summer cocktail! My friend had the sunset and not only was it pretty, but it was delicious as well! I would definitely come back here as rooftop season continues. Service was very friendly and attentive at the beginning of our brunch on Sunday, December 28th, at our 12:30 p.m. reservation, and we were polite and appreciative throughout. However, once another group arrived, both our server and the bartender largely stopped engaging with our table. Complimentary shots were offered to the other group while our table was overlooked, and it became difficult to get assistance when we were ready to pay and leave. We were using a Pulse deal and made staff aware multiple times. I emailed the restaurant in advance to notify them of the Pulse deal since the phone is never answered. We also mentioned it at the front with the hostess and again directly to our server. When the bill was presented, the total was approximately $82.75. At that point, I reminded the server that we were using a Pulse deal, and she appeared surprised and said we should have mentioned it beforehand. The Pulse deal documentation reflected a value of $140, which caused confusion, and when the deal was finally applied, a manager had to closely review it, which felt uncomfortable. This brunch was especially disappointing because I was there with my mother on her last day in the city, and we had really been looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the inconsistency in service and the handling of the bill took away from what should have been a special final meal. read more

I visited Elsie's with a group of friends on a beautiful, sunny Saturday for brunch. While we were a bit disappointed by the limited food options, we all found something to eat. One friend had the Huevos Rancheros, which she said was just alright. Another had the Impossible Burger, which she didn't like at all. One friend ordered the Belgian waffles and, despite only receiving a single waffle, found it to be really good. I had the truffle grilled cheese, which was superb--I was shocked by how delicious it was. The drinks were excellent, and the ambiance was beautiful. A rooftop on a sunny New York day is hard to beat. However, the service could have been better, as our server disappeared for long periods throughout the meal. We went to Elsie Rooftop for a Bottomless Brunch. Once we entered the building, we went down a long, super clean, shiny white hallway. A staff let us into an elevator, and used his key card to take the elevator to the rooftop. The restaurant was much smaller than I thought it would be, but more cozy and the interior was super modern. We had a reservation for when they first opened up for the day, so it was still empty. Then we were brought to "outdoor" seating space which was in the back. The outdoor seating area was completely covered, and it was so pretty! With it being all covered, this space can be open for dining all-season. But, since the weather was super nice, they opened up the side window/door, so we could also step outside to the actual terrace space as well. Awesome! The Bottomless Drinks are for 90-min, we were told that we can choose any Sangria from their four sangria options. And of course we tried them all... I tell you, they were really tasty!!! Not water down or anything, really flavorful, fruity, and refreshing. Mimosa and Peach Rosé Sangria were our favorite! Although, my husband really enjoyed the Red Room Sangria, the more basic style of sangria. For food, we decided to get a different dish among the four of us. We ordered Shakshuka, Croque Madame, Cheese Toast, and Sliders. They were all quite tasty, much better than I expected. We had a super fun Bottomless Brunch here. The drinks were flavorful and strong (but not too strong), and the food were all great too. The service was good, we were never rushed, but didn't feel neglected at all. Whenever we got attention of our server, she came over immediately. It was relaxing and enjoyable. When you take the elevator, don't forget to take a selfie in that mirrored elevator. As you get off the elevator, this building is very narrow, so walk towards the host, who will direct you where to sit. We arrived soon after they opened, so we had a table in the exterior rooftop area with a bottomless brunch selection. The space was gorgeous, and we got to walk all around and enjoy the room with the view. Food and drinks: We had the two-hour bottomless brunch, so we were a group of four to have a carafe of sangria or an individual glass, so we tried to mix and match different flavors. Here are some of the flavors for the brunch drinks: Peach Rose Sangria (Bodvar Rose Wine, Creme de Peche, white peach puree), Red Room Sangria (Diora Pinto Noir, Bulleit Bourbon, Hennessy VSOP, orange, pomegranate, honey), Margarita Sangria (Baron Herzog Sauvignon Blanc, Codigo 1530 Blanco, agave, pineapple, lime), and Mimosa Sangria (Paul de Coste Blanc de Blanc Brut, Chambord, orange, pineapple). For the food, we had the slider burgers (Cheddar cheese, secret sauce, caramelized onion with tomato and lettuce) and the Truffled Grilled Cheese and other items too. I stopped in on an early Saturday afternoon after seeing some buzz about this place on TikTok. Party of one scoping out the city and what it had to offer. The mimosas are good and they have a full bar. What set it off was the live music and the vibes. It wasn't crowded so I was able to get served quickly. If you want a table you'll need a reservation otherwise the bar has 5 seats that are first come first served. You can also sit outside freely. It's a beautiful spot to hang with friends but if you're looking to get buzzed, the cocktails might not be the route to go. This fabulous rooftop is amazing! The cocktails are perfectly mixed and pack a nice punch. I sat at the bar and found the ambiance real chill and had music at the perfect volume. It is definitely larger than most NYC rooftops, as there is space outdoors and even more inside. For a 90 degree day, the extensive indoor seating with AC was absolutely perfect. Since the bigger party wasn't there yet, we asked to take a quick look from the roof and were told "no." The food was as expected - below average and the drinks were watery. As soon as we got the there, I was notified that there was a high school reunion that was taking place, so therefore, we couldn't make our reservation for dinner. we decided to stay and enjoy the views of the city Momentarily. we couldn't have been there for more than 20 minutes. It was at this time that a very rude restaurant staff worker came up to us and rudely said: " we know you aren't part of the reunion class you need to leave". I informed this person that I had reservations that I had to forgo because of this event and that they shouldn't have allowed reservations to be booked if there was a prior event already booked. Needed something for a drink and quick bite in exactly this location on a weeknight before a Broadway show - and i would recommend it for that purpose. Would just manage the time as the service got a bit slower as it got busier - but everyone working was happy to help and friendly. The drink options were fairly standard, but nicely made and presented. Enjoyed the red pepper hummus appetizer, but the margarita flatbread was too flat (could have used some salt, garlic), but the texture was good. It's a really pretty space and I imagine even nicer when it's warm and open-air. I get the feeling it might pick up a clubbier vibe late night or on the weekends, and I personally wouldn't pick it for that.
