Versa was great for a quick bite and a few drinks. My Apperol spritz tasted a bit flat. But, service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean. But it's so clean that it smells like bathroom disinfectant clean. The food was good and golf was on. It's a nice bar and it's a little gem to sit outside on a nice day with so much room. read more

We came here to the rooftop for the vibes but it was lacking. There was a long line with no staff in sight to seat us. Finally they came and we were seated at the bar - our choice since it was empty. The bartender was all by herself serving the whole place with minimal to no help. The beer was on draft and ok. The food was horrible - nachos don't order. Wings were mid. Fries were good. read more

Came here for a happy hour before a concert at MSG at 4pm. We got seated inside since there was a private event happening outside (wish they posted this warning earlier in the day) They advertise happy hour on their website and Instagram but we weren't even offered a happy hour menu.. our bill was 140$ for two drinks and two apps. Was just a little upset that I saw that the table next to us had a happy hour menu when we weren't even given one.. read more

Terrible mess. It wasn't that busy at the bar during a World Cup game and the bartenders couldn't keep up. Three bartenders huddled around the middle instead of being spread out to handle other ppl across the bar. The food was pretty bad. I've been here before and it was ok but this time the nachos were terrible. Don't get the Korean short ribs, they have an odd taste. We ordered nachos with guacamole afterwards and it never came. Very ill organized read more

Was recommended to come here before a concert at MSG. It was an easy walking distance from Penn even in the rain. It's conveniently located in the hotel and was easy for a quick bite to eat. I thought the food tasted great as well. We easily made a reservation online before the concert. It wasn't too crowded as it was a Wednesday night. read more

This place isn't bad. They have a really large rooftop area. I visited during a business lunch and the place was dead. It's likely poppin' in the evening for dinner. Staff is friendly and I love that they spoke Spanish. Food was solid, nothing to rave about but certainly not bad at all. I had a solid lunch and certainly would return. read more

Coming to Versa is ALWAYS a pleasure. Our vendor always reserves the rooftop and it's much appreciated. Walking through the restaurant, you'll see elegant lighting, comfortable seating, a large bar, and plenty of televisions. The service is top notch. Staff members constantly refilling food selections (cheeses, fruits, angus sliders, chicken tenders, to name a few). There is multiple seating locations throughout the rooftop (booths, chairs, high-top tables, and long sofas). The view is spectacular. From the Empire State Building to 7th Avenue, it's beautiful and only gets better as the evening progresses. Thank you, Versa, for hosting another memorable gathering and I highly recommend it to everyone. read more

Went here for a Madison Square Garden Group Outing Leader Appreciation Night. Two-hour open bar (beer and wine) and finger food (sliders, tacos, spring rolls, etcetera). Beer was cold, food was okay, just disappointed that the open bar closed 15 minutes early. The bartender said the organizers had reached their spending threshold. Came here for a quick bite after a comedy show at Comedy Cellar. The rooftop is huge with 3 levels, a full bar, big screen, and Dj on weekends. Let's not forget the great view of the city. The staff was attentive and polite. Very nice artwork in the lobby entrance as well as on the roof. The breeze felt really good as I ordered a BBQ choken flatbread and a glass of Rosè prosecco which the waiter recommended. The flat bread was good.. I would definitely return to Versa. I had heard of it but never been. read more

Beautiful rooftop bar inside the Renaissance Hotel. I see why they are on the list of one of the best sports bar in Nyc. It's huge with plenty of seating and screens, even has a ping pong table. Their happy hour ends at 6pm and drink wasn't great, as why I gave 4 stars. But the cocktail I had after 6pm was delicious, so I definitely come back. A great place for a large party, afterwork. They even have separated rooftop bar, private party area. read more

Versa has the open air city views!! Great rooftop bar/restaurant to hangout, eat and drink. One of our partners hosted an event here last week. The event food was kinda whatever but everything else was good. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was functioning and kind. Really no complaints. The rooftop makes the place. read more

Came for a Sirius XM event and was thrilled to get in no problem. The rooftop has spectacular views and a good amount of seating. We really enjoyed our dinner which was reasonably priced. The drinks at the bars though were outrageously overpriced, served in plastic cups and with 20% gratuity automatically added on. Staff was all very nice. Bathrooms were in sore need of attention from the onset (5PM) and had degraded further by the time we left around 8PM...tissue paper on floors, toilets not flushed, soaking wet sink area, etc. Would most likely return, just not for drinks specifically at those prices. read more

Their lox dill bagel special for breakfast is a top tier bagel in nyc, coming from a rooftop you'd never expect it. The service could be a little more organized they're good but they have way too many people helping causing themselves more confusion. read more

We sat in the canopy section which has rooftop vibes but with fans and rain protection. Really liked the ambiance. Menu is pretty typical American fare, but well executed! Servers were friendly. What do I think of Versa? H O R R I B L E SERVICE!! We arrived with a large group for a few drinks before heading out to dinner. The place looked beautiful on their website, but that's where the charm ended. When we requested drinks from the bartender, she responded with an attitude. We chose to overlook it. When we tried to order another round, we noticed our original bartender was absent, so we asked another staff member behind the bar for our drinks. He seemed annoyed; he leaned in to hear our order and then walked away, still visibly irritated. Several of us encountered similar attitudes throughout the night. We were puzzled as to why the staff seemed so annoyed; the venue wasn't busy, and we just wanted to have a good time before dinner. It's becoming clear why the place wasn't as packed as we expected! read more

I came here to watch the Michigan football game. It's a cute rooftop with a good amount of TVs. Shoutout to Alana for great service all night! I came here recently for a private event on a weeknight. The event had a variety of different type of bar foods like mac and cheese bites, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, etc. They were fine for bar food, nothing remarkable. The drinks are reasonably priced for a rooftop bar. The space itself is pretty big. There were multiple parties going on at the venue. There was another private party across the way. The view is a bit lacking compared to other rooftop bars as it's only a few floors up. I would be interested to see how the bar is during the summer given how spacious it is. Not only is the venue spacious there's multiple types of spaces. There's a bunch of tables for a dining area. A couple of areas for bars. And a couple of couch type areas for lounging. The place definitely has an afterwork happy hour vibe to it. read more

Versa is in the heart of midtown with beautiful city views! The night I came there was a live DJ to set the mood. Vibes were on 100, service was on a 100, but the food was just okay. Their menu had a little bit of everything but nothing that blew are socks away. 11 of us make reservations. They brought us over to an area that could accommodate us and said someone would be over to take our food and drink orders. We milled around for 15 minutes and now one came over. I went up to a woman in black who seemed to be someone like a manager and let her know we had been waiting for 15 minutes and had no service. She said she would find someone and walked away. 10 minutes later there was still no one. So I walked around to find a server, who didn't even know we were there and said he'd be over in two minutes to take our order. 10 minutes later he still had not shown up and I went back to him and he said he had forgotten about us. What 11 drink and food orders and you forget about us? Jeez? Take if from me. If you have a group. Find some place else. read more

We went to Versa for happy hour, and even though it was crowded due to March Madness, we managed to get a seat on the upper level. The upper level is still stunning with great seating and views of their lower rooftop and has an area for people to walk out and enjoy the nice spring weather. We enjoyed some appetizers, including truffle fries, nachos, and a margarita flatbread. Personally, I found the margarita flatbread to be a bit too salty for my taste, but the truffle fries and nachos were quite good. read more

Extremely frustrated and disappointed. Walked in with a very nice impression of the hotel and greeting downstairs in hotel but as soon as you go upstairs... start the decline. The host had an attitude asking us redundant questions implying we couldn't afford the restaurant even though it's an average price average type of food restaurant. Then the waiter greeted us, asking for our drink and food order in the same encounter... seeming very rushed. Gave a simple order of waters and the sampler plate on the happy hour menu. That was the last time I saw her. Wasn't talked to again and never saw the waters. Had to wave down the bartender who seemed very busy when only 2 other customers at the bar. As a fellow server/bartender I'm very generous when I'm out, attempting to be understanding. however this restaurant is a major blow to this company and hotel. Only reason it's not one star is because the food is relatively decent read more

I'm only assessing the special Rangers event ENTRANCE - this restaurant and rooftop bar is in the renaissance hotel. You have to take the elevator up to the 5th floor EVENT - this is a usual Dolan party for those familiar AMBIANCE - for others the rooftop area is fairly large with an outdoor section and a covered section (in case it rains I suspect) The feel is very modern with a long bar for ordering and many tables. PEAK AT REAL MENU - not a lot of options at a glance and prices are up there SERVICE - for the event the bar tenders taking drink orders were efficient and fast. Overall I'd give it OK but I'd need to come again for a restaurant outing read more

Came here for a NYE party. At first I thought it was going to be super overcrowded judging by the line when we got there. It took my group a good hour to finally get through the front door. But once we were in, I was surprised how massive the venue is and that it was not as crowded as the line appeared to be. There's a nice rooftop area with heating lamps, although the view isn't the best. Nice place to hang out to catch some fresh air. Wasn't crowded because it was freezing outside, so putting on a nice alcohol coat will do. There were two bars: one by the entrance and one by the dance floor. The bartenders by the entrance knows how to make a solid drink. The ones by the dance floor not soo much, but makes sure you get your moneys worth with generous alcohol pours. There were hor d'oeuvres served throughout the night and there was plenty to go around. I for sure would come back again in the future read more

Unfortunately, I had one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever had at Versa in my 15 years as a New Yorker. I made a reservation for 15 to host business clients here for drinks and dinner before heading to MSG. Our department assistant even went to visit Versa the day before event to make sure everything was in order. They showed her where our tables would be and said they'd block off part of the outside for us. We check in the day of the event and they take us to a high top table for 4, telling us that is all they can accommodate as they have a private event happening outside. They couldn't even move us to a bigger table inside. The manager and hostess both didn't seem concerned, apologetic or want to help us in the slightest. If they couldn't accommodate us, I don't understand why they'd take the reservation and go as far as to show us where we'd be seated the day before. We were left in a bad situation and had to scramble when hosting clients. Versa used to be my go to before MSG, but I won't be going here again. read more

We came here as a group after work to meet up with some friends. Although it was dark when we arrived, the large glass windows and roof offered a ambiance that was refreshing. We sat at a large long table that was a high top. This gave us a good view of the entire place and there were a good amount of TVs everywhere. We didn't have dinner there, but had lots of appetizers and they were all pretty good. The charcuterie is obviously and good shareable one, but I really enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip. It was not too heavy like some other places will make it and was filling. The beer selection here is good and so is the service. The ambiance and that retractable roof were the highlights though. read more

I recently attended an event at VERSA and was impressed with how well the staff managed to keep the attendees well-fed with passed hors d'oeuvres and hydrated at the busy bar. I did not try the food (was mostly fried or heavy items), so I cannot comment on it, but the bar offered a wide range of beers, seltzers, wines, and alcohols. My Casamigos and club soda was perfectly enjoyable. The balcony was not really a rooftop, as it was only 5 floors up, but the views were nice, and the patio was furnished with a variety of seating options - from high-top tables to couches. It was a comfortable and welcoming environment for sure. The indoor space seemed rather upscale, but also delightful. read more

The ambiance is comfortable and casual, very clean and trendy, I sat inside. I was so pleasantly surprised at the bright and fresh flavors paired in my dish. There was grapefruit on my dish and surprisingly it was perfect with the flavors! My palette is savory and salty but the butternut squash had a creamy coconutty flavor with a little citrus, the spinach was earthy and I went on and ordered the fluke although I tend to not always love flounder and it was incredible ! I'm a huge fan of oyster mushrooms and they were good as well- the garlic rice just needed a little salt. Boo took me here last night to celebrate my birthday. The rooftop views are nice. There was a DJ who was playing fire music. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The refresher cocktail was amazing and the perfect balance. My date had a long island iced tea. The bartender was really friendly and accommodating. Food was surprisingly very good. I am muslim and don't eat pork so they were generous enough to remake the burrata bruschetta without the prosciutto. We also asked them to make vegetarian nachos, which they gladly improvised. The truffle fries were good, but could use a little bit more Parmesan cheese. Both the fish entrées were amazing. The puree On the Branzino was paired really well and the crispy brussels sprouts were delicious. My date ordered soy glazed salmon which was also delicious. Service was top-notch, they even came out with a little surprise birthday lava cake. Highly recommend this place. read more
