This is my 2nd time here while we were waiting for a concert to start at MSG. We choose to sit inside and made it for happy hour. It wasn't that packed on the floor level but seems the rooftop and outside were busy. Service was a bit slow although our server was nice. We got our food and drinks, almost everything was good. I wasn't a fan of the calamari though. Everything else was good.
Had a fun time at Avenida! The vibe was great and the DJ was really good. Service was a little slow, and with the bottomless drinks, the drinks were inconsistent - some were super strong while others were pretty weak. The food was also just okay. Overall, fun atmosphere, but the drinks and food could've been better.
Nice spot with a rooftop, food is great although it was slow to get service and our food. They offer bottomless mimosas which we declined but the table next to us didn't and they ended up puking all over the tables which definitely affected our meal experience. We had to move ourselves to another table and wait even longer for another server. We ordered 3 different desserts to share- tres leches cake, tres leches French toast, chocoflan. All were great !
I've always wanted to try this spot just from walking pass & always seeing good vibes, so I randomly decided to stop in to see what it was about. Walked in, went up the stairs to the rooftop for a good view & a glass of wine (of course lol) the service could've been better but I'm guessing because it was pretty busy that night with more ppl coming in. I'd definitely try it again & maybe grab a bite as well.
Lovely space with outdoor seating conveniently located near Penn Station. This was my first time here. Party of 2, my cousin had heard it was good for drinks, and chose it because he wanted somewhere close to Penn. I don't know if he reserved ahead of time, as he was there and seated before I arrived. It was busy but not as busy as it probably would be in warmer temps. It's a really nice space. First you go to the host stand at the outdoors, then they direct you either outside, inside, or upstairs. Unfortunately we arrived after happy hour ended. My margarita was delicious, as were the chips and guac and our tacos. Service was pretty good, didn't have to wait terribly long for drinks and food. I would love to check it out during nicer weather for outdoor seating.
Came here Saturday afternoon for brunch. We had reservations and the kitchen closes at 4 so we put our food in immediately as soon as we got there. The rooftop has a decent view of the city but its a bit crowded on the rooftop. We did bottomless brunch and to do that, and entree must be ordered. We chose to do bottomless margaritas and they were nice and strong. I got the Tres leches French toast as my entree. It was really tasty but not that filling. Our server was really nice and everything came out at a decent time. Only thing is, someone got sick next to our table and it took a little while for them to clean it up and that kinda throws off the vibe when you're trying to eat. I would come back because its conveniently located by penn station but I'd probably go for dinner or lunch instead.
***3 1/2 stars*** Without even going inside this place, I could tell that an ideal experience probably centers around a few margaritas after work. I came DURING work at lunchtime this past Thursday and had a water, so keep in mind I didn't have some of their biggest selling points. That said, this was still perfectly fine as far as it goes. I work next door at Penn 1, so this is literally a 30 second walk for me. In warmer weather, the clientele seems to be a healthy mix of both tourists (which makes sense given its proximity to MSG/Penn Station) and office workers. There's a pleasant outdoor area that butts up against the plaza we use when it's not wall-to-wall brown piles of snow, but in late February it wasn't possible to take advantage of that. When I walked in, I made myself comfortable at the bar, which had a great lighting/window situation going on - felt like an atrium or greenhouse almost, though I imagine that's often contingent on the sun situation outside. This was a pretty no-frills situation. I ordered chicken quesadillas and requested they hold the sour cream. The food showed up in about 10 minutes or so, which I think is very reasonable - the restaurant overall seemed quiet and the bar was otherwise empty, so there wasn't an obvious reason for a wait time, but thankfully that was moot. As you can see from the attached, it was a large portion and had solid presentation value. I ate two of the quesadillas while I was there, took the last two to go, and may have accidentally consumed a third as a late afternoon snack. Not bad; the cheese was a little rubbery and the chicken a bit dry; nothing egregious, but the accompanying chipotle sauce was definitely needed. The tortilla itself was arguably the high point here - nice and crisp, and had a little seasoning to it. The service was decent. Again, turnaround time was very good, and the bartender/waitress (Diana, I believe) was hospitable and pleasant. When the bill came, it included an edgy postcard that I'm 100% utilizing in the future, my concerns about the USPS notwithstanding. She also handed me a card with a QR code to write a review, not knowing she was in the presence of someone who literally does that at every opportunity. This type of overture can kind of play both ways - I don't like situations where someone is not-so-subtly urging me to shoot them a positive review - but I thought this struck the right balance where she was just giving me the forum to send some feedback. Noted and done. I'd come back, especially given how conveniently located it is for me on the weekdays. But it's probably an overall better experience if I wait for the end of the workday.
The food is absolutely delicious, and the music and atmosphere create a great vibe. Service can be a bit hit-or-miss during busy brunch hours due to the crowds, but the staff are friendly, helpful, and do their best to accommodate guests.
Rooftop with great vibes right outside MSG. Felt good in the sun with a nice breeze and a fire quesadilla that was thick asf. Guac and chipotle sauce were great alongside it.
This place was an absolute godsend after a concert at MSG! We had driven from out of state, and hadn't eaten pretty much all day. We weren't expecting to find a sit-down restaurant open at 11pm on a Monday, within walking distance from MSG, with delicious food AND drinks! This checked every single box! Service was great, the space was clean and open, and it was surprisingly quiet inside despite the hustle and bustle of thousands of people right outside. The birria tacos were perfect, better than most I've had before! The chicken quesadilla was also perfect, and a sizable portion too. Their frozen margaritas were EVEN more perfect if you can believe it. My favorite was the mango frozen margarita. I will definitely come back here after concerts at MSG!
Solid lunch experience. Visited for a second time with my coworkers because it's close to our job. Love that they have a long happy hour. It's from mon-fri 11am-6pm! I believe my sangria was on that menu and it was delicious. Pretty strong too. We got the guacamole and salsa with chips to start and that was flavorful. I preferred the guac over the 2. I tried the chicken quesadillas for my meal and it was good. Not the best I've had or the most authentic but filled me up. We all enjoyed our food. It's a good spot to stop in.
We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate a party of 6 on a Saturday night. We sat inside, but they do have a rooftop but it was too cold to sit out there. They have heating lamps but they didn't work the best. Service was good, food was decent. We ordered the taco salad, the chicken quesadilla, chicken burrito, the fish tacos, and the steak tacos. The steak tacos were a really really small portion. The food flavor for everything was okay. We ordered the tres leche for dessert. The flavor was good but the cake itself was HARD. It tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. I don't know that I'd return here. Possibly. Drinks were good. Party of 6 our bill was $400.
A nice spot to chill, enjoy the views, and mellow out to Mexican music. Nice! There's plenty of seating for the whole gang. The staff were responsive. The food arrived at the table timely. Good vibes. The bathrooms are 3 flights downs, in the basement.

Whether you want to bask in the sun on the rooftop or snack indoors, this place is super cute! The rooftop views are perfect and the food.... Even better! A more condensed menu but there isn't a wrong choice! Quick and friendly service, this place will have you crawling back for more! read more

I went to this place for my mom's birthday and we had a nice time. Since this was our first time trying, we decided to have the bottomless brunch. They have Margaritas, Pina Colada, Mimosa, Bloody Mary and such. For brunch, we decided to try their burger, breakfast burrito and a French toast. They all tasted good but the portion was little small. Also, their bottomless drinks were pretty strong. Since I'm not so strong, I could only have two drinks. I wouldn't recommend if you are like me lol if you love these drinks and you're strong, then I think you'll love this place! read more
We came here midday for some appetizers and drinks. Our waitresses were extremely patient and nice. The food was pretty good. We got chips with salsa and guacamole, the wings and the calamari. I'm not a huge fan of calamari but the breading on this one was very good. We got drinks as well and overall, it was a great experience. read more

Absolutely not. Made a reservation for 6 at 3pm on a Sunday and we were immediately sat which is nice. I understand switching shifts but we had 3 different servers within the 17 mins we were there. Immediately I was turned off by my water glass' rim being covered in lipstick. The glass was replaced but then we noticed the water carafes had hair in them. Those were replaced and our drinks came out. Two of the drinks dropped also had hair in the them. Disgusting. By this point we wanted to leave and tried to find any server to help us cancel our food order. Since it took so long, the food came out and they kept trying to place it down no matter how much we said no. Thankfully someone from the party was able to speak with someone and we left. I won't return. Seems WAY overhyped and from overhearing the table next to us and reading other reviews, they also don't care for dietary restrictions. Too much of a hassle for generic Mexican. read more
I have been here several times under different owners. First in a while. The service was timely, as we were on a time constraint which we expressed to server. Davie- made sure we got what we needed in good time. He was helpful and polite. It was lively and busking. Pretty packed on a Thursday evening. Did lit with cute decor. The wings, calamari and fries were good. Crunchiest fries I've had in a long time. Drinks were well made. Overall, I'd pop in again. Perfect for happy hour, after work drinks/ dinner. read more

So many great things to say about this beautiful brunch spot! First for most, the waitress was super sweet & even the host was absolutely amazing! The host invited me to shots on her! The waitress knew the menu down to the tea which is a service of 10/10 because she knew exactly what she was talking about. Food, I ordered an avocado toast & my partner had ordered huevo ranchero. But it wasn't just any avocado toast or any huevo ranchero. The avocado toast had such good flavor to it with a little bit a lime in it. The bread was a pretty decent size with cherry tomatoes on the bread. It was also very soft. I had a little bit of salad on the plate which I loved. My partner had huevo ranchero, with a soft tortilla. The egg was cooked perfectly for the yolk to spread with the sauce of the ranchero. She also had some avocado & beans blended on the plate. It gave it an amazing touch to everything on the dish. Food was a 10/10!! Drinks we had mimosas of course, & spicy margaritas. It was too spicy, so didn't like but waitress said she would change it for me which was so sweet of her. Ambiance was such a vibe! They played great music, all different types of music. 10/10 - Avenida is a place to go to for brunch & vibes especially in the summer, it's right off penn station very easy to get to. Would I go here again? Definitely! read more

Came here w my husband after an event up the block. The service was good but my husband was really disappointed with his chicken sandwich. The chicken was really thin and small. Nice ambiance looking over 34th street but definitely not worth the price for what we got. read more

Friend and I came for brunch on the rooftop and it was top tier! even though the weather wasn't that great we had such a fun time. The service was quick, very friendly, bartenders were efficient for the bottomless drinks. Music by the DJ was fire and the whole energy of the place was so fun highly recommend coming for brunch and staying for socializing and good times. Food was delish too! 10/10 read more

What a great time for brunch on Saturday, before we went to see the Knicks lose . The hostess was super sweet and was trying to accommodate our party of 6, fit up in the rooftop but it didn't workout so we sat downstairs. Our waitress was sweet and attentive; music was great; food was delicious and the unlimited drinks just kept on coming! Definitely a must "go to" place! read more

Came here with friends yesterday and I liked it. Great spot for after work drinks. Mexican food, more of a fun modern spot. I like the indoor and outdoor seating options. Great views of MSG and 1 Penn from outdoors seating area. Steps from Penn Station and great shopping area. The service was fine. Loved the enchiladas and quesadillas. A slight bougie vibe if that matters to you. Would go back. read more

I came for a bottomless brunch birthday for 12 and 2 people didn't come, but they were ok with it. We were seated on the rooftop which was nice since it was the first warm day of spring! I loved how they had more than the quintessential bottomless brunch drinks (mimosas, bloody mary's) such as piña coladas and margs. It's $24.99 for the bottomless aspect and you pay for your entree so the pricing isn't bad. I got the avocado toast with poached egg (+$3) and to honest, I was shocked by how small the avocado toast was. It was smaller than the egg which filled up the majority of the plate and not filling at all. It was definitely the smallest avocado toast I've ever had and will probably ever have in my lifetime. However, the drinks were great, satisfyingly strong, and the staff came back frequently to ask if we wanted refills. I would definitely consider coming back but would not get the avocado toast. read more

Came in on a Saturday and got a $12 "spicy" margarita. The only thing spicy was a Tajin rim. And it came out of a tap. Not fresh at all. No jalapeños. On top of that the bartender was rude (as in took forever to come over to me even though the place was half empty and pretty quiet, and then overcharged me and I had to point it out to them. Gave him a $20, got back $4 in change. Nah. Walked down the street and got a hand mixed margarita at another place for the same price. read more
I've been here before but it's been years! They have a rooftop (very very loud), inside and patio seating. They also take reservations! I will say the roof was too loud and we decided to move seats and just sit outside on the patio. This was so nice. We liked the food and laid back service - they do not rush you out. Actually took us a bit to get the check... the location is supper close to MSG/ Penn station so that was also a plus! read more

You cannot beat the bottomless brunch - pina coladas, mimosas, bloody mary, and margs included for 90 mins. Got the 'CHILAQUILES VERDES' this time. It was basically 2 eggs with tortilla chips covered in green sauce. This place you come for the VIBES and MUSIC and DRINKS, not the food tbh. It started pouring on the rooftop and the vibes CONTINUED. DJ was still popping off and the whole rooftop including staff was dancing and having so much fun in the rain. Second time back, and will definitely be back! read more
Its a decent place, close to the subway. The interior is nice, and the olace had great vibes. That was the extent of what I liked. The food was really bland. We are vegetarian and the vegetarian options at this location were really lacking. They had like 4 items they could make vegetarian- Nachos, a taco salad, salsa and guac and some potato tacos. The taco needed some seasoning, they tasted like boiled potato slapped on a taco without salt or spice. The drinks were ok, we ordered a mango margarita and a spicy margarita, neither had anything special and tasted just ok. We also ordered a chocoflan which had way tooooo much whipped cream but I did like the chocolate cake flan combo it was interesting. The taco salad I could maybe eat again but I doubt I would fo to this place again. The staff is really good though they were very plesant and courteous. All my points go to the staff and their service. Without that for vegetarian food options itself I would give this place 1 star. read more

Best brunch in town!! Our group visited this restaurant prior to an event and ordered the bottomless cocktails and they didn't disappoint. The servers were great and kept the margaritas coming.
