Nice rooftop area by MSG. Decent happy hour drink price specials. Food was giving Sysco and naturally overpriced, nothing special. Good vibes downstairs, feels intimate and they also had Harry songs on pre-Harry concert.

After walking the High line, our group of 9 decided on grabbing a cocktail and food at The Rutherford. The hostess was welcoming and we were seated quickly, I had the Margarita picante and the Crispy chicken Sandwich with fries. The rest of the group had other appetizers, beers, and steak sandwich, salads and burgers. Everyone enjoyed the food and good service.

We wanted something to eat close to MSG for a concert we were going too. This place fit the bill. We sat on the back patio and the food came out quick and looked and tasted amazing. Although I don't believe they use Heinz ketchup which was a thumbs down on my rating scale. Anyways everything was great. Service food drinks everything. I'd def go back and try something else bc you can tell it was fresh

I have historically been a huge Rutherford fan. My go to before concerts and basketball games. Having ate there tonight before the Mumford concert, I left completely underwhelmed by their sharable apps we ordered. The nachos were cold, covered in a grainy liquid cheese with little taste, the mozzarella blocks were exactly that, cold/still frozen blocks of cheese...lastly the buffalo chicken bites looked like the leftover grizzle from a long deep fry. I can confidently say I will never eat there again. Their frozen margaritas were the only thing keeping us from walking out. Sorry Rutherford, but you have lost your touch.

Came on Saturday evening before going to a concert at MSG. Sat at the bar for drinks and food. The bartender was really nice and attentive which made the service good in my opinion. There was College football game playing and most guest seem to be young adults. I felt like there was upstairs seating but I could be wrong. Pornstar martini was tasty and had the right amount of alcohol. Had chicken sandwich that came with fries. Portion side was good in my opinion and I was definitely full. Chicken in the sandwich was fried and crispy with a sauce on it.

Stopped in here before a comedy show at MSG. I was expecting (more like hoping) that service would be fast assuming that many others were going across the street to MSG but that wasn't the case. Our server was very nice but she was the only person working in the downstairs dining room. The food was pretty good - we had the NY Strip Steak sandwich with fries.

Nice rooftop bar. I had no probably getting a seat. The staff was so attentive. Drinks arrived to the table super fast. Very views! The bar looks onto Madison Square. Consider rideshare or public trans, parking will be a pain. There are stairs to the rooftop.

My friend and I came here on a total whim. I wasn't expecting much, since it was a pretty casual place, but the food was better than expected. The menu is pretty basic, mostly classic American and bar type dishes, so don't expect anything overly inventive. Still, I feel like it's more of a drinks spot, given the ambiance and bar vibes. The service was great and we had a great time here overall! I'd recommend if you're looking for an easy walk in.

Stumbled upon this place outside the train station near MSG in NYC. Only had time for a drink while waiting for my train to Baltimore yet received excellent service by Karla. Adorable little restaurant with a nice bar, cool outdoor seating area, and fantastic service.

We didn't even mean to eat here. More settled. Our walk around the city led us to this area. My intention was to get noodz close to this area, but we had walked about 5 miles and my feet were hurting. The rooftop option was what sold me, but unfortunately it wasn't even open yet. We decided to stay anyway because we really needed some nourishment. First off, the rosé was not it. We shared the wings, risotto and sprouts. The risotto was the only winner for me. The other two were whatever.

Had a great time sitting at the bar at The Rutherford last night. Jack was an amazing bartender and we had a great time and stayed way longer than we intended to.

Great little place to go before or after an event at MSG. They have happy hour every day. They also have a nice outdoor mini rooftop that they enclose in the winter. It's right next to MSG so you have a nice view of that and the post office that houses Penn Station. The service is friendly and they make a great cocktail.

got a spiced hot cocoa! few customers on a weekday night, got seated immediately. service was very friendly and not pushy at all. my friend and i came just for drinks. vibe was dark and mysterious. super convenient location - a few steps from the train station!

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. Patent Pending is has such cool speakeasy vibes, think dimmed lighting and candles at each table in a very intimate space. We ordered both the chips and bar nuts to go along with our drinks. And instead of wine, I opted for a cocktail! They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all these crazy concoctions. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.
