    Sunday Roast - Lamb Chops
    Sam M.

I ate an early dinner at Tara Mor during a work trip to NYC. After a long week, the idea of a Sunday Roast was too good to pass up. I arrived at the restaurant around 4:30pm and was seated immediately without a wait. The restaurant filled up quickly though, so I do recommend making a reservation if you're wanting the peak dinner window. This review actually pains me, because on food alone this would be 5 stars; it was the service that dropped the ball. But I'll get to that later. All the food was fantastic. I started with the Irish Spice Bag and the Homemade Sausage Roll. The Irish Spice Bag is fun and flavorful and comes with a delicious curry sauce. The Sausage Roll was hearty and savory. Note: the Sausage Roll only comes with two pieces - so it's best for parties or 1 or 2. For the Sunday Roast I went with the Lamb Chops. Everything on the plate was delicious. My only complaint would be that the Yorkshire pudding was barely room temp, if not outright cold. There wasn't a ton of meat on the chops, but this is typically the case for lamb. I think next time I would try the short rib instead. Let's talk about the service. First impressions were good. The hostess was great - she was friendly and offered to store my suitcase for me. However my actual server was probably the least attentive server I've experienced in years. There was a long gap between taking my drink order and coming back for my food order. After taking my food order I didn't see him again until I got my check. And I had to flag down the host to get him to come back. I had finished eating and was sitting there for almost 45 minutes before he eventually came back. At which point he just nonchalantly dropped off my check. I actually would've been interested in dessert, but he didn't offer, and worried I would be waiting around for another hour - I didn't bother to ask. Despite the sluggish service, I would absolutely return. The food was really good. Fingers crossed I just get a different server next time.

Came here after another bar and being felt rushed. Place was beautiful and mildly crowded due to the rangers game but it was still comfortable. We able to snag a little ledge and got drinks rather quickly. Was poured a perfect tasty creamy pint. Then switched it up to a very refreshing pickle martini, my friend was not drinking and got a Nogroni mocktail. Would like to come back and try other drinks and food.

Tara Mór is the perfect after-work spot if you're looking to unwind in a stylish setting. The aesthetic is modern, warm, and effortlessly cool, ideal for grabbing a drink and a bite without feeling rushed. The Mexpresso martini was bold and smooth with just the right kick, while the margarita was perfectly balanced and refreshing. This is a great place to stop catch up with friends and ease into the evening with good drinks and a relaxed yet elevated vibe

Cute spot. Friendly service. Good food options. Tasty drinks. Great spot to check out if you're in the hood. I've been several times for brunch and always leave full and nicely buzzed. Love the chicken! Aperol Spritz and mimosas hit the spot to. Huge spot with multiple party rooms. You can easily grab a spot at the bar or a table with friends. Lots of TVs to watch your fav game. Check em out!

I visited Tara Mór on a Monday evening and was greeted warmly upon entering. The vibe was casual and classy with Irish sayings adoring the walls around the room. I liked the bar area with a random door separating the seating. I am unsure of the bartenders name because he didn't offer it when I sat down. He was friendly and helpful when suggesting dinner options. I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled chicken dinner that was served with gravy (sauce), mashed potatoes and blackened asparagus. The food was served piping hot and full of flavor. Great job and thanks for a satisfying meal!

My braised beef short ribs & gravy was amazing!! However, my daughter's CHICKEN was extremely DRY!! The gravy with her chicken did tase amazing! She has to soke her chicken in gravy to eat! Also, our food was room temp at best. If food was hot and chicken was moist I would've given five stars! Also lava cake was a lot smaller than expected! Looks like it was smashed but was good!

Great ambiance and beautiful décor. Very comfy, warm, and elegant. Even the bathroom was nice and well kept. Great ambiance and beautiful décor, very comfy, warm, and elegant. The bathroom was nice, no shortage of stalls, steep stairs. Music was classic. Lighting was nice. We came right before happy hour and were told we could be seated for two hours before a reservation, which was totally fine, since we didn't have a reservation. The happy hour was good, and the lunch special (drink + meal) for $22 was actually an even better deal. Service was mixed. Our server -- a young Irish guy -- was great. Toward the end it felt like things shifted into a bit of a frenzy. Our first server shared the business slowed recently and this was their first full house in a while, so maybe that played a role. Towards the end of our meal our server was switched to a brunette who seemed to be in charge, but she wasn't very friendly and came off a bit rude. We're hoping our generous tip went to the Irish lad. Dessert was very basic. The lava cake gave *cough* Domino's energy, and the "vanilla ice cream" was pretty flavorless. Nothing to write home about there. TLDR: Stick with the lunch special and skip dessert. That said, the Negroni, Five stars. Guinness on tap was tasty. Overall 3.5

New and upscale Irish pub that is close to Penn Station! Beautiful decor and ambiance, friendly service and more ~ authentic~ dishes including the "Irish Spice Bag" which I haven't seen on other menus. The food was fantastic (just had apps and drinks) but will definitely be back! And yes there is a happy hour

Loaded Fingerlings & Alligator Sausage- both were tasty

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way.
