The views...6 stars! The location...5 stars! Absolutely love this rooftop bar for its incredible views and prime spot overlooking MSG and lower Manhattan. Super cozy vibe too, especially since it wasn't too crowded when we were there. Where it falls apart is the service, and most likely the reason behind it. Service was unfriendly and lackluster at best. The drinks were decent, but not worth the prices they charge. What really stood out was the forced 20% gratuity, no matter the size of your party. I can understand why the staff didn't seem too motivated to provide great service or be more meticulous with the expensive drinks and cocktails. It's a shame, because the views and location are top notch. This place could easily be a 5 star spot if they changed their tipping policy, which in turn would almost guarantee better service, friendlier staff, and better mixed drinks and cocktails all around. read more

After a work day, we stopped by this rooftop bar located inside Fairfield by Marriott. They offered $10 cocktails plus some wine and beer for happy hour between 5-7pm. The space is not too big, but has a nice view of the city while being located right next to Penn Station. We scored a tabletop and I had a glass of Peach Prosecco. I went to Blu 33 Rooftop in NYC with some friends, and overall it was a fun spot with really nice views of the city--definitely a great ambiance if you're looking for a chill rooftop vibe. The drinks were a little pricey (pretty typical for a NYC rooftop), but they were good. I originally ordered a drink from the menu, but they told me they didn't have the ingredients for it, which was a little disappointing. I ended up getting something else instead, and it actually turned out pretty good. We tried the Spicy Fairfield Margarita, which lived up to its name--nice kick and really flavorful. The Hidden Passion was also delicious and refreshing. The biggest downsides were the wait times. They seemed to be short-staffed, so it took a while to get seated and even longer to get drinks. Came early so it wasn't crowded and was able to get a couch area. $18 for specialty drinks ( a bit pricey), menu prices for the rest. No happy hour discounts here... However, Great view during sunset view and looking down into the streets. The strawberry mojito was good. Depending on which bartender made the drink - it was either on the lighter side or the stronger side... Tokyo tea drinks came in many shades of green from light to dark depending on who made the drinks (and they were strong). There is only 1 restroom up by the bar area inside. The only downside was waiting for the elevator. Note: If you are ordering a large # of drinks, they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill. Make sure to get an itemized receipt else you are tipping them double! Caught that since I saw the receipt and friend mentioned they had tipped not realizing and went back for refund on the additional tip. read more

I'd like to give this place a solid 3.5 stars. It's a rooftop bar. It's cool. The prices are typical rooftop bar prices. Thing is, I wouldn't really RETURN here. For one, it's SMALL. I don't visit rooftop bars often, so not sure if this is a norm or not. Luckily, I went for a social event last night that had a space blocked off for us, but even then, snagging one of the 4 tables by the glass partition to actually enjoy the view seems difficult. I can see how this place can get packed REAL quick because it's pretty tight. Now it WAS a spectacular midtown view, so points for that. Drink prices were regular NYC inflated rooftop bar prices but they WERE tasty. Biggest negative though; NO FOOD. No snacks or NOTHING. This place should at least sell bags of potato chips or SOMETHING at the very least. I like to nosh while I'm drinking. But it was clean, cool ambience, so check it out on like a Tuesday. I can't imagine how packed it would be on a weekend. Also, multiple restrooms right outside the bar by elevators thankfully. read more

The happy hour here is one of the best. This rooftop bar is on the 29th floor and has unobstructed views of downtown. I'm also really impressed with the happy hour pricing. $10 for most cocktails not just 1 or 2 is sorta amazing in midtown! The bartenders are a blast and there's plenty of chairs to sit. There was a pile up of people (approx 20) waiting to enter up until 4:12 when someone called the lobby to ask why doors were locked. It was good idea to go to rooftop bar during weekday and early. Sometime I just in a mood to chilling out and talking to my friends in a place that is not too loud or crowded. This rooftop bar has nice midtown Manhattan view and I can see Penn station from the top. This hidden gem with the One World trade view and Madison square garden is like my own private space in the buzzing New York City. I always love to stay at Fairfield Inn hotel where this lounge is located because I can come up here to enjoy the view after the end of the day with my casual attire. It is an unpretentious place. No fancy dress. No fancy cocktail. I wish they serve the drinks in glass instead of plastic cups. I wish they improve the food selection and wine list. read more

The only thing this rooftop got going for itself is the really nice views facing Downtown Manhattan as there's not a single taller building (or as tall in this case) obstructing the view in a full 180. The drinks are not really worth it as they serve beer in plastic cocktail cups so you're getting less beer than you usually would at any other bar for the same price. The place doesn't get crowded which is good for those who don't like a big crowd, especially since it's a pretty small rooftop bar. read more

Nice place on 33rd st between 9th and 8th, and overlooking points south. Nice to have a drink so high up and with downtown Manhattan as ur view. Nice and new. Only problem was it's a bit small and easily crowded. Bathrooms were super clean which in Manhattan, that says a lot! read more

We answered that we did not AND it's a Monday night. The security dude says we need a reservation and that they're all full. He simply did not like our attire and didn't let us up.
