The most egregious problem with this bar is that it's in a hotel where the public bathrooms have a sign on the back of the doors, at eye level, advising that witnesses of possible sex trafficking should call ICE. (There's a similar sign--below it--providing a New York State-approved number to call). Guess Noem had some money left over after her self-aggrandizing ad campaign. Besides jumping into bed with fascism, other issues include the bar menu, especially considering the bar/hotel's (objectively lame) location, and inclusion of a $52 cocktail (insane) nestled amidst 4 other cocktails all priced at $28. The menu has a section clearly cordoned off to showcase an $80+ cocktail (insane), so the drafters of this menu obviously understood some prices ($80+) are too high to casually drop into a list of overpriced NYC cocktails. I deeply regret going to this bar and will never return, and advise you to do the same (and you probably won't return, because no one cares about this hotel, or this bar). read more

Went in for last call cocktails basically. The night was literally a blur. The ambiance was sweet. Nice fireplace, all open concept tow top tables with comfy cozy couches. Very intimate. The drinks were strong just as they should be. The service was great, bartenders were amazing, specifically Milton, he's the bomb! Cozy cocktail bar hidden in the Pendry Hotel. It's located off the hall way connecting the lobby to the adjoining restaurant - Zou Zou. Most of the seating is best for small groups of two or three. There is one table in the center that could fit seven or so. Our group of five was fortunate to find the large table vacant. Seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was intimate. Interesting list of cocktails plus a fair selection of spirits. Decent selection of whiskeys. Nothing too rare but enough variety to still be interesting. read more

The general drinking and seating in the lobby may also be served out of here, I can't tell, but small seats, and smaller tables (though they do serve the bar menu food). I never really write reviews, but I had to after today... I dropped by Bar Pendry after dinner at Zou Zou's and the bartender honestly made my entire night. He took the time to ask me what types of liquor and flavors I like, and made me custom cocktails that tasted so delicious. The whole experience felt unique and individualized, even though the bar was busy. He was attentive and very nice, and I will probably return again soon. This bar isn't too big, so be prepared to get cozy. We were able to find a little booth area and saw that there were servers circulating. We were immediately served water and menus but no one ever came back for us. It honestly worked out nicely in the sense that we just got to sit in the bar for free, but I was pretty surprised that no one came for us. Great establishment, great drinks, RUDE bartender. We had been sitting here for a while before my husband went to the bar to order drinks. The bartender was quick to tell him we were supposed to wait at the table, but then took his order. 20 minutes later we went back up to the bar to ask where the drinks were or least a server for us. Very small bar, but beautiful! The gold ceiling is stunning. We sat at the bar and only got pre-dinner drinks, but the bar tender and waiter were friendly and the drinks were great. We got the Haku Sour (VERY good), a dirty martini, and two glasses of wine. It is on the pricier side, but pretty typical for Manhattan/Hudson Yards. We left the bar through the restaurant that is just down the hall (we will come back to the restaurant at some point - the energy and vibes were good and the space was trendy), and we managed to find our way right to the Highline within a few steps. Met some friends here for drinks recently. I have never been to this area before but the Bar is inside the lobby of the hotel. The ambiance is upscale. It's not large space overall but seating is spacious and the vibe feels intimate. For a Saturday night (~9p) it wasn't too busy. The menu is not too extensive but the bar looks like stocked that they can prob make you other items not listed on the menu. I went with the Manhattan. It's not something I would normally order but I enjoyed it x 2. My friends had the Old Fashion (x2) and they enjoyed it as well. Drinks are on the pricier end but I would not come here with the agenda to slam down 10 drinks. We ate prior so we didn't order any entree type items. We did get the fries and they were DELICIOUS. Stayed at the hotel for a few nights and came back to the bar after a late show, on a Friday night, and the staff were quite rude and closed 20 minutes before the posted closing- despite other patrons being seated and drinking in the bar. Wanted a glass of red wine and an Amaretto sour- nothing crazy- and they were not having it because they clearly wanted to close and go home early. Had to complain to the front desk about it, which realized this was crazy, and they overruled the bar's refusal to get us drinks. Not a good look for a 5 star hotel bar in Manhattan. read more
