Very popular restaurant. Reservations are at a premium. We celebrated my wifes birthday with a terrific female Dominican server. A doll and a pro. Sorry forgot her name. We started with the Jerusalem Bagel. Other worldly bagel, absolutely fantastic Tahini yogurt dip excellent the Hummus and Spicy were ok. Also the bagel sits nicely on Olive oil as well. My wife had the steak ribeye was absolutely superb. I had the short rib which was no lie thee best short rib. You don't need a fork lol it is so good. We had the charred vegetables which we could have done without. We had a Zinfandel that was outstanding and went nicely with the red meat. We were stuffed. My wife ate half the rib eye and the rest went home. They asked for dessert we couldn't we were stuffed. However our server brought a pistachio cheesecake with a candle for my wife. It was an awesome experience and my wife was pleased. All that matters. Also so was I. Keep in mind not cheap at all. However the experience the servers etc for special occasions is a must. Honestly, this spot is worth the hard-to-get res and I found that same day reservations through Doordash are not impossible to get. The interior is cozy and the service, as well as the food, is excellent. Here's what we got - Jerusalem bagel (4.5/5): tastes as fluffy as pop up bagels. The dips are less impressive but the bagel itself is amazing - Tuna (3/5): actually the least impressive dish of the night but still solid. Just did not feel worth it necessarily - Caviar bites (4/5): caviar was really high quality. potato puff was crispy but not the best thing I ever had - Halloumi bites (5/5): must order. texture is perfect, cheese is light and the hot honey is necessary - Frisee salad (4.5/5): really light and vinegar-y, good for cutting through the sauce - 77 layer wagyu (4/5): expensive but good! The meat is tender and the exterior is crispy, and the tomato-based sauce is suprisingly light - Cardamon soft serve (3.5/5): loved the textures but a bit too sweet for me. Another huge hit from Catch Hospitality Group. These guys just know how to do everything right. Service at every one of their restaurants is exceptional. Always welcomed so kindly and there is a team of genuine professionals working in lockstep to create a memorable experience. Or'esh has a high energy vibe with a sexy atmosphere. Music is bumping but not at a level that keeps you from hearing everyone in your group. Drinks were as expected, awesome! The food was next level yum. We shared the thinly sliced bluefin and the Halloumi and not only was the presentation spectacular but the flavors were perfectly balanced and delicious. Of course you can't skip the Jerusalem bagel. The spaghetti with shrimp was very rich so another great dish to share. I think the favorite of the night was the wagyu which is perfectly cooked and seasoned, this one is the must have. They sold out of the fish special so we ended up trying the Branzino and that was the least flavorful option of the night. The short rib id quite expensive and very rich in flavor so another nice one to share so everyone can get a taste. All in all it was one of the best meals I have enjoyed in the city and I will definitely try to come back. A very special meal and experience. read more

wow, give Or'esh a Michelin star! Definitely the best meal i've had in a really long time - every single dish was so incredibly tasty, just amazing. My favorite dish was the wagyu new york strip. get this! possibly the best meat dish i've ever had - honestly better than jean george, per se, etc. I also loved loved the short rib. We also devoured all of the starters, including a snapper special, the tuna, a salad with fennel, and beautiful artichoke dish, and the jerusalem bagel. Tried all the desserts and loved the chocolate cake the most - it came with nuts and caramel and a scoop of ice cream - perfection. cheesecake was also very good. i would definitely come back again and again - if i can get more reservations. read more

Great food, great service but the hostess at the front really ruined it for us. I had asked a friend to go in and put his name down for an opening since i was in the car looking for parking. I ended up getting a table two hours later. My friend had plans and wasn't able to attend, but the table was under his name. I invited another friend to attend who had been really looking forward to trying this new spot instead and she came by within half an hour. The hostess asked for her table name and she gave mine. Then the she got nasty and said we weren't allowed to give up tables to anyone else?? Like it was my table, just under a different name??? Idk really rubbed me the wrong way and left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when the food was so good, just felt that that can make or break an experience and I definitely left feeling weird. I will say the server we had was fabulous and the food was delicious but they really need to do something about that host. You should not be greeting people if you don't have a good attitude. Anyways definitely order the kadaiyf halloumi and the tuna. Both were so beautifully prepared and served. Drinks are excellent I got the preserved lemon vesper. Such a great and unique take on it. I will say I didn't taste the preserved part so much, but loved it anyway. Also got the layered salmon. Food was absolutely fantastic, very attentive and kind service and romantic ambiance. We were greeted by all the whole team as we made our way to our table. We started with the Jerusalem bagel - it was so good we ordered another one. It comes with 3 sides - harissa, babaganoush and tzatziki and they were all amazing. Then we got the sashimi which was very fresh and delicious. For main we got the 18 layered Wagyu and the grilled branzino and a side of charred vegetables - they were all amazing. The cuisine from Chef Nadav Greenberg was exquisite! The place is super cozy with an almost gatsby sexy vibes. But let's talk about the food: one of the most memorable medi food experiences ever! Every dish every bite was so well seasoned, so intentional with every ingredients on the dish. The hardest reservation to get currently in the city! We got lucky through a friend, & had 15 minutes to get there, and boy were we excited! Absolutely worth the hype! Everything was excellent, delicious food. All was so savory so flavorful, we had the best experience. The service was so thorough, AS was the cohesion with all of the staff involved. Everyone was so thoughtful, so engaging, always checking in to see if we were enjoying everything, & we were! The decor & ambiance is absolutely stunning, the overall vibe is so fun, it was just buzzing! You could tell everybody was having the best time and everything flowed so beautifully. Or'esh is one of the best openings in SoHo, a modern Mediterranean spot where live fire and coal grilling are the focus. The bread and dips are amazing and set the tone right away, but the fire grilled seafood and meats are the real standouts. Every course was delicious. The service was warm and attentive throughout the meal, and the design is beautiful and cinematic without feeling formal or overdone. I wouldn't be surprised if they earn a Michelin star this year. If I could give Oresh 10 stars I would! Absolutely lovely dining experience with some of the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. We were welcomed by Chloe, who is the general manager for the restaurant and she made us feel at home. The entire staff was welcoming and gave us great recommendations. Cocktails were all on point, especially the Carrot & Yogurt Sour and the Grilled Olive Dirty Martini. The Carrot & Yogurt Sour was so unique and was nothing like I have ever had. Food-wise here is what we had: The Big Bluefin Slice - Amazing, fresh and delicate. Definitely get this! Jerusalem Bagel - Not overly heavy and the dips were divine. I especially loved the babaganoush. Hudson Valley Chicken Liver Cigar - Very nice light appetizer that was full of flavor and crunch. Sauce it came with was a nice compliment. Charcoal-Grilled Veal Sweetbread - I love sweetbreads and this did NOT disappoint. Possibly one of the best sweetbread dishes I have ever had! 18 Layer Wagyu New York Strip - Perfectly cooked thin slices with that tomato tahini sauce that I wish I could have bagged up to have with a bagel the next day! Prime Beef Short Rib - Possibly one of the best shortribs I have ever had in a very elegant presentation. Sauce that came with it was also delicious. Charcoal-Grilled Ratatouille - Nice compliment to the rich beef dishes. Who would have thought that zucchini, onion and eggplant could taste so good. That sauce too .. OMG. Cardamom Soft Serve - Talk about a great ending. Nice expressive flavors with that kataifi crumble that I could have snacked on all day. Rarely does a restaurant hit on everything, but Oresh did. Or'esh is one of the best restaurants I've been to in years. I went last night with my family and we all left genuinely impressed -- the room is beautiful, warm and moody, the acoustics are surprisingly good, and the service was exactly what you want. The food is the real story though. Chef Nadav Greenberg is cooking live-fire Levantine in a way that feels both specific and confident -- the massive, exquisite cut of tuna to start, the Jerusalem bagel with dips, scallops in the shell, lamb chops, a charred greens dish that I'm still thinking about. I ordered the snapper, pan-seared simply in a little oil, no sauce -- and it was phenomenal. The family went for the branzino and salmon and both were great too. Everything that came out of that kitchen was either very good or exceptional, and nothing felt like it was there just to fill out the menu. Desserts held up too -- all worth ordering. I had been wanting to visit Oresh since it opened - there has been a lot of hype for this spot & I finally got a res. Walked in and got a drink at the bar while waiting for my friend - the tahini espresso martini was really good! Then for apps we got the Jerusalem bagel, market salad & tuna. Bagel was pretty good - nothing special. Tuna was super fresh & a big portion. Market salad was my least favorite dish - I love salads and this was just not good. For entrees we got the branzino and lamb chops - lamb chops were really good and branzino was good but a bit too crispy. They also brought us the ratatouille- which we did not order and they charged us for it. Our waiter spoke quietly and it's also a loud restaurant - but he mentioned something when we were ordering like "the vegetable side would be great with your entrees unless you'd prefer it during the apps" - we couldn't understand what he was saying and thought he was referring to the market salad so we just nodded our heads. Nonetheless - we did not order this and felt a bit tricked. I probably wouldn't come back because of this and how expensive it ended up being. It's a good spot to visit once with a nice ambiance - but food is nothing overly special! read more

The food is bland and black Lester, and the presentation is poor. Any posted photos or constructed by the chef specifically for posting.
