We came in here for a late lunch and drinks and decided to sit in The Taproom at the bar. It definitely had that old world feel (even down to the sawdust on the floor - IYKYK). Our bartender was SUPER nice and was prompt in serving/refills. We started with a couple cocktails (Green Spot for the win!), and then had a 1/2 dozen oysters, Scotch Egg, and the Pot Pie. Holy crap. BEST lunch meal we've had in a while... going to dream about it. I can't wait to come back!!

Returned to The Dead Rabbit (again!) for dinner on a busy Sunday evening. Great food and drink as always. Started with the Lamb Chops which were awesome and for entrees had the Sunday Roast, Salmon and Fish Pie - liked them all especially the Sunday Roast. Finished the meal with an excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding and Tiramisu. The staff was terrific, from the hosts, to the bartender in the Taproom (had a drink before dinner), to our server in the Parlor Room - everyone was friendly and helpful. All in a fun atmosphere. Will be back soon!

Came here for the last weekend of jingle jangle, the holiday decor was so nice! My friend had little expectations on cocktails at a holiday bar being actually good, but he was pleasantly surprised and loved his gingerbread man's cocktail. The appetizers were really good, sausage rolls and honey ham sliders that we ended up ordering main entrees too. I loved the turkey pot pie and had enough for leftovers, while the fish n chips were a little disappointing on the size for the price. One of my favorite tiramisu desserts, where it was more drenched in coffee and cream than a cake with a little bit on it. Service was attentive for how busy they were. It was nice with the reservation the host checked us in and sat us immediately. While we loved the drinks, the entrees may be a pass next time and just some appetizers

While pricey for an Irish breakfast, the portion is massive and the quality is outstanding. This was jaw dropping delicious. Served with two types of bread, it paired perfectly with the soft butter. Ample meats to go around and the pint was good as well - fairly priced. I was so pleased to see it came with beans as well. I'm still thinking about it! The ambience is also incredible, very authentic Irish considering it's in Manhattan. The bartenders were quick to pour and serve, dishes cleared regularly. They have a good thing going here.

Came here for dinner and drinks on a weekday evening and it was packed! Glad we made a reservation in advance, otherwise it would have been quite difficult to get a table. Seating is tight and there are quite a few backpacks/bags that will brush up against you depending on where you are seated. Prices are steep, think $20 on average for a cocktail. They do have a happy hour and a special where if you "Split the G" you get the Guinness taken off your bill! For food we split a few small plates, including the chips (aka fries), scotch egg, oysters and popcorn (with Kerrygold butter) all of which were delicious. I also tried the veggie burger which was a solid portion size!

Went here during a packed st Patrick's day weekend and service still moved quick! Great vibes inside. Had a hot Irish coffee to start and a frozen Irish coffees to end the evening. Never seen a frozen Irish coffee machine, definitely recommend giving it a try. It didn't taste alcohol forward and was very refreshing.

While in NYC, we wanted to stop for a drink near our hotel and popped in here not realizing the history or popularity of the bar. The bar was packed at 2PM on a Monday which was surprising! We were able to squeeze into a bar spot which is first come first serve and I'm so glad we did! There were so many fun cocktail options available, but we all settled on beer/ wine for our visit! The staff was very friendly and got drinks turned around quickly, the holiday ambiance was so much fun and brought cheer for sure! Definitely a worthwhile stop while in New York - especially if it's for the holidays

Dead Rabbit is the best version of an elevated Irish pub. There's a reason they won best bar in the world twice. @thedeadrabbitny They're especially fun during the holidays because they turn an already killer New York pub into a Christmas Pop Up. We walked over from our brunch at the Beekman because it's a short walk in the Financial District. Double bonus is stopping halfway through Wall Street to see the giant Christmas tree. The holiday cocktail menu is the best we've ever had. The recipes are as festive as the intense decorations that cover every inch of the place. I had the Naughty List which is a boozy hot chocolate with single malt scotch, aged rum, and salted caramel cream. It was amazing. Dead Rabbit is always a good idea to check out because it's as good of a pub as it is a place to have complex cocktails. The bartenders are always friendly and open to off menu ideas if you don't find what you want on their extensive menu. Head south out of the madness of Midtown and go downtown next time you're in Nee York. They're a lot of fantastic places to check out and experience some great neighborhoods. Went with my daughter and son in law for a celebratory drink. It's one of his favorite bars. Packed at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon- reservations mandatory. The place was packed. It oozed charm. The tables were small and tight. The waitstaff were charming. I had possibly the best Irish coffee ever. The Guinness was good, but not up to the son in law's standards. We shared a plate of crudite. Lovely experience.

The best Irish coffee in all of the US! I even met an Irish local who makes them at home vouch for these. Perfectly hot tempered sweet coffee drink balanced with the coldness of the cream on top, is amazing during any time of the year but especially when you're cold and trying to get cozy. They also participate in the Guinness challenge where you have to split the G to get your beer free. You chug the beer and try to stop it where it goes in the middle of the G in Guinness on their cup. I saw someone succeed after their third try and alas, the bartenders gave her the beer for free. Bartenders were consistently friendly too! The inside vibe is so cool and filled with a lot of people from Europe. I love the decorations and chaos! I highly recommend coming here especially for their Irish coffee.

A historic bar I've been meaning to visit for a while, and I'm glad I finally did. I made a reservation and opted to sit in the upstairs lounge since we wanted dinner as well. The cocktails were incredibly creative and delicious -- definitely the highlight. The food was solid and paired well with the drinks. The downstairs has a much livelier, true pub vibe, while the upstairs feels a bit more relaxed. Great atmosphere overall and worth experiencing at least once.

Came here for drinks with a large group and it was a great vibe! The music wasn't too loud, the energy was good, and drinks were solid.

Looking to pop in here around 11 on sat night, is it usually crazy packed? Thanks everyone and have a great day

It's a popular place and it's going to be crowded. It's not a very large place. It's definitely worth a stop in there to get a drink. It's not a place you want to hang out all night though.

    Is there live music?

Not when I was there which was a Saturday afternoon. I would check website.

Hi, we been you your pud every time we visited NY, we are planning a trip but we are now a party of 3. Are toddler allow in the restaurant area or bar if on stroller?

    Are there TVs anywhere?

No TVs! They're trying to maintain that old school pub feel.

What is the difference between the two options for tables when you reserve. Taproom or parlor?

Taproom is the downstairs bar that is pub atmosphere. The Parlor is upstairs that is like a tea room atmosphere.

Are they still doing dollar oysters / happy hour?

Pre-covid, the drinks on the 3rd floor (maybe the 2nd?) were based in a "cartoon" book/story, & have a progression for the various concoctions/cocktails. Does that volume of drinks still exist or are the drinks listed on the site all there is now?

Is this place opened during covid?

    Is it 18+?

I believe it's 21 and over, as they check ID at the door.

How much are cocktails on average?

It's pretty pricy but definitely worth it. Most cocktails are $17

Does this place provide bottomless brunch options?

No bottomless options, but a great place to have brunch!

It looks like this place is famous for its drinks. In terms of Food, does the place better serve as a brunch place or dinner or both?

I really think it is best for "snacks with drinks" more than "meal", in that really, they are very cocktail-focused and the emphasis is on savoring the drink. To me, that means more of "light dinner or pre-dinner".

Is the parlor open the same time as the taproom?

    They have different hours.

Is it ok to go here by myself?

100% yes. I had a few solo before friends and had a great time. Good staff and people.

    Is there happy hour?

I don't believe there's a happy hour for drinks, but in the parlor they have dollar oysters from 5-7 or 8 some days.

When are the happy hours? Thanks!

It starts at 5pm and I believe until 7. They used to have a couple of Happy Hour cocktails but not anymore. $1 oysters are amazing! and maybe sliders or something like that. If you are wanting to go to their parlor then you need to get your name in… Read more

When is the last call for the kitchen?

    1:30am

Is this place considered a speak easy?

It is a speak easy. It has been closed due to a kitchen fire. They will re-open July 19th. Glad to help!!

How's the wait around 9pm midweek?

Maybe 5 minutes the most. Pretty chilled one out during the week!

What's the wait like around 730 on a Sunday night?

Plan at least an hour! When I was there a couple weeks ago, I notice that they don't fill all the tables upstairs so that it's not uncomfortable. I really love how they space things out so that you don't feel crowded OR rushed! It's amazing.

While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!
