To enter you need to ring a bell and wait for a hostess to come get you. There were several parties in front of me who did not have reservations. I did have a reservation and my counterpart was already sat downstairs. I had to wait a total of 15 mins for the hostess to come to the door after ringing the bell in combination with her taking down the information of the parties who did not have reservations. Overall this process could improve as it cut into my 90 min seating time as well as left my friend waiting. Once inside the ambiance is very intimate, private dark vibes. A great place for date night. I tried the velvet alchemy which was a vodka sherry based drink, it was a lovely drink. After being helped to our check we were left confused as the waiter just kind of left charging device with us and we weren't exactly sure how to proceed. Eventually we figured it out, and the machine was just slowed due to being in a basement.

Literally a 'hidden' gem of a bar. This place is attached to The Walker Hotel Tribeca. However, the entrance is on a side street with steps to the doorway. I think I rang a doorbell and waited awhile to be greeted. I only knew where to enter because I saw a video online showcasing the entrance location. The employee then led us down multiple sets of stairs to a basement level bar. The vibe is intimate with dim lighting and candles in a cave like space. This is perfect for date night or evening out. There was no particular dress code, but generally casual smart or dressy would fit the vibe. After 9pm (or 10pm) every night there is a live jazz band. Just check the their page to confirm the time. Naturally, it gets busier the later it gets. On a Friday evening, we got in easily at 7pm, but were seated against the wall (not at a table). You may need to make reservations in advance to secure a table. Service was initially slow as we waited to get someone's attention. Upon recommendation from the server, I got the Espresso Thaitini. This was excellent! A must order! The Sweet Papas Swizzle was okay... heavily iced. Cocktails on average were $22. Seating is a mix of small tables, bar, or single seats along the wall. Ideally for a date or smaller group since the place is small. Restroom available. I didn't see an elevator, just multiple stairs. Overall, worth a visit. Cozy, intimate, and live music.... with a nice crowd and decent cocktails.

Saturday date night. My first time here and I was delighted. I didn't get to press the doorbell as there was someone else in front of us but maybe next time. A host will greet each party where you will follow them down two flights of stairs into a candlelit cellar. I loved the vibe, just wished it had more comfortable seating. We first sat along the mirrored wall but then moved to the cushioned booth/bench at a more elevated level. There were house cocktails and mocktails and you can order any drink with their customized twist. I enjoyed the Chula (mezcal and micro flowers) where it smoked as the server uncovered the top. My date ordered an aviation. It was fun to people watch and enjoy the cozy vibes (although could've been a bit warmer inside). Overall, a cool speakeasy to enjoy holiday drinks.

hidden gem under a hotel, fantastic ambiance and the live music sounds great in the space. it's intimate and dark but fits the vibe well. i got the choco cherry drink which i absolutely loved, it was a bit pricey but came filled with chocolates and had a nice cherry flavor to it as well as chocolate covered cherries. service was fast as well and was throughout tended to throughout my time. i will note my friends drinks were not to my taste and were quite bitter but you order to your palate. great place to visit at the end of the day and its not too hard to get a reservation or walk in.

The space is small and intimate, with live music on certain days. Seating is along the narrow space with a small bar at the back. The service is fairly quick and the servers are really nice.

Wonderful hidden spot in near SoHo area! You can get in from the alley. The spot is fire! Bar counter and tables are nice and intimate. They do only a small bites. They do live music! I loved how they welcomed, great services. Such a delightful experience and I appreciate delicious cocktails! The bartender guy was so sweet and thoughtful. I don't want to tell this spot but I'll come back soon with some special nights!

A hidden speakeasy tucked downstairs in The Walker Tribeca hotel. Chat with the host or hostess on the entrance (lobby) floor and either be escorted or shown down the stairway. A small spaces with a few dozen tables and bar seating, expect a great cocktail list and a selection of wines. There are small bites available, but it's more snack-food than full "meal" food. There is a small stage in which musicians will play. This is a great place to go as a group of 2 or at most, a group of 4 given it's fairly small. There is one small area that can holder a larger group (maybe 8 or so)

Wow. I was really impressed by Saint Tuesday! Upon stepping down into the bar, you are immersed in a low lit, intimate atmosphere. The drinks were sooo good! I told the bartenders my preferences and he made his own special cocktail. Did not disappoint. The jazz music was the perfect touch. Cannot wait to come back.

Located inside the Walker Hotel Tribeca, this tucked away speakeasy like bar down in their basement was a nice surprise. Made a reservation for an early drink (7pm) & was pleasantly surprised as it was not packed, was playing great music & had a friendly great staff. The drinks although a little overpriced were actually good. Service was a tiny bit slow but I chalked it up to the bartenders taking their time and making sure the drinks were made right. It was super cozy, esthetically really nice (when the lights are turned off) & had comfortable seating. Was there for maybe 2 hours and had a lovely time. I would love to visit this bar again.

I ordered the Lemongrass Martini and my friend got the Baby Gray - she claimed that this was the best cocktail she has ever had! For two cocktails ($22 each) and the Smoked Paprika Chips ($12) plus tip it was just about $70. A bit pricey for drinks, but the vibe makes up for it. We got there right when they opened so it was empty in there until a group of 3 came and sat at the bar. Would definitely want to come back here!

Walked into Walker Hotel Tribeca and tried to find Saint Tuesday but couldn't. The front desk staff told us that there's another entrance to Saint Tuesday on Cortlandt St (didn't realize it was a speakeasy). We rang the bell a couple of times but the staff didn't hear it so almost left but he came out just in time. He led us all the way downstairs. The space is very intimate, and would be perfect for a date night. It was really empty around 6:20pm on a Tuesday night. The cocktails were about $22 or so. I ordered the Campers Sipper which was delicious. The presentation was on point. However, it did take some time to get our drinks. Staff came around frequently to refill our water glass which was nice. The other cocktails were tasty as well, especially the strawberry shortcake and manhattan. I'd def be back to try the other cocktails.

Stepping into this dark intimate speakeasy in Tribeca is a perfect find for a girls night out. Saint Tuesday has live jazz and hand-crafted cocktails with in house-made ingredients. Once you find the entrance, you're immersed into an underground world where the rush of the city melts away. Tell your server what your flavor of choice is and the mixologist will create something for you. Don't like it? No worries, they will try again. We don't visit while there were any bands, but if you like jazz and good drinks, this is definitely a spot to try! Speakeasy jazz bar located pretty far underground the Walker hotel. Entrance is to the side of the hotel. The vibe inside is cool and rustic. The jazz band playing was great and the noise level was just right, you could actually hear people talking next to you. Drinks are $22+. Had an espresso martini and it was very good. They had some light snacks though I didn't try any. Came for an event so unsure if they ever have a cover charge. Not accessible by elevator and stairs are the only option (as far as I know). One of the cooler jazz venues in the city. Bartenders were very cool and kind. read more

Do yourself a favor and visit this beautiful gem of a place, Saint Tuesday! The overall aesthetic is beyond gorgeous which mixes both a classy jazz feel, with a nice crowd. It's warm, dimly lit and filled with energy! From the music, to the cocktails, you are in for a great evening. It's in my top visits of NYC Speakeasy venues for sure! The service is remarkable, great seating, and a great place to bring anyone for an unforgettable evening. MAGNIFICENT. MAGNIFICENT. COLLIN WAS THE MOST PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVER/HOST. Very attentive as well! Drinks were very elite. I appreciate mixologists that know their stuff!! The menu offers a fantastic variety of well drinks. Most drinks on the menu are exuding with exquisite taste. Absolutely gorgeous presentation too. I had the seasonal drink -- CHULA -- Lavender Infused Tequila/Mezcal, Clarified Lemon Juice, Honey, Orange Flower Water, Micro Flowers-- quite delicious and loved the hints of lavender. Also tried the FANAMAMA -- Tequila, Jasmine & Sencha, Passionfruit, Sherry -- wonderful fruity-ish nodes. The ambiance was spectacular..by far one of the best spots I've been to this year. Everything about it is elegant. The chairs and the seat set up is memorable!! Loved the jazz performance. It really set the scene for an intimate vibe in which I'd recommend this place for a date night. Also great music aside from the jazz performance. Reservations and walk ins may be welcomed. read more

This spot is really hidden in the depths of the Walker Hotel basement and the entrance is in Cortlandt Alley so you'll have to know where you're going to end up here. The drinks are creative and if you tell them what you like they will make you something custom. They also have a live jazz band on most nights. It's a good date spot. However it can be shortstaffed and hard to get someone's attention. read more

Four stars with qualifications. Deserves more than three. Cool venue with a unique mix of basement feel, but also lots of plants. I don't know how they keep them alive but it was beautiful. The live music was fantastic and not overbearing. Perfect for the small space. The drinks were just ok. We went with the custom drinks at the servers recommendation and I wish I had just tried a cocktail off the menu. I basically got a whiskey sour when I said I liked whiskey and egg white, but it was right before thanksgiving and was hoping for a little more of a fall take, something unique. Another girl in our group got nothing she asked for. She asked for sweek and rum and got citrus and vodka? Good vibe for a girls trip and fun location, but probably will not go again. read more

This was one of the worst service I ever seen at a cocktail bar. My girlfriends and I did a walk in and they had the booth open. They said it was a 90 minute seating time and we were okay with that. However, the waiter, who seemed very apathetic, took literally about 20-25 minutes to take our order. This waiter was strange. A friend asked if they had any mocktails (not on the menu) and his response was just "yeah we do". Then after an awkward stare, that's when he offered options. Then, the drinks litetally took another 30 minutes to come out. I had to get up and ask where our drinks were and ask a second waitress to check for our drinks. The waiter said how "our ticket had a delay getting in." Aka he probably forgot about our drinks. After we finally got our drinks, we arent even halfway done, the waiter comes up and says that it's last call for us. He literally seemed like he didnt care and never apologized. Drink menu here is nothing special. A friend did a dealer's choice and it was just a tuxedo 2 martini, which we have seen at many other ny bars. Majority of the menu is just the typical bar menu, such as a negroni. Drinks are about 21 bucks so not cheap for lack of service. read more

Such a cute little speakeasy hidden in tribeca. Felt super intimate and the service was great. Drinks were quite expensive and I finished mines in about 6 sips, it was very tasty though. Perfect for a date night or a lowkey spot with friends. read more

Came here twice. Cool speakeasy with live music every night. Drinks are pricey and I was a little put off that they have these elaborate cocktails that are 22$ and my girlfriend ordered a completely basic amoretto sour, which is just a single shot of a liqueur and they charged me 23$ and labeled it "bartenders choice"! read more

Definitely and literally a hidden gem! Bartender's Choice drinks were suprb. Hence, the bartender is, as well. (forgot his name, sorry but he curated the entire menu) Hostess was lovely and the ambiance we calm and secure! Will definitely come back. Just be vigilant with some waiter's recommendations with sneaky undisclosed up charge. read more

ABSOLUTELY WILL RETURN. One of the best speakeasy's around ! Greeted by a friendly hostess, we were escorted down to the speakeasy and immediately loved it. Great environment. Friendly staff. Live band played while we sipped on our delicious drinks. My wife and I ordered "Bartenders Choice" and told the waitress what we like (Tequila). THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT! Cute little spot underneath a hotel. Dubbed as a speakeasy/cocktail bar but with live music every night. I went on a Saturday around 10 and was told the wait would be around an hour long. Nbd. estimated wait time was fairly accurate thankfully. No seats when I entered, but was lucky enough to grab a bar rail on the wall adjacent to the bar. Once I got to look around, I noticed space is decorated beautifully in an art-deco aesthetic. However I also noticed there was no where to hang a coat ((install coat hooks please!!)). Lots of people were waiting to be served at the bar, but the bartender looked like he was slinging drinks quickly enough. Was able to sit at a table shortly after successfully obtaining a drink, but the music ended about one song right after I sat down. Drinks were decent, but vibe of the place after music ended wasn't enough to entice me to linger. I'd say give this one a visit, but check the set times first! read more

Definitely coming back! Highly recommend making a reservation or else you won't know if you'll be able to get in or not. If you love Jazz in an intimate setting you'd love this place. Nothing flashy, just great music and great drinks. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate his birthday and we loved it, wanted to go somewhere unique without it being so extra. I got the Bartender's choice, gave some personal preferences and it did not disappoint!! Super delicious read more

I really enjoyed this place that is right across the street from Au Cheval. There's even live music on the weekends and the band was really cool and chill vibes. Want to give 5 stars but the service was quite slow unfortunately. I would definitely return to try the "bartender's choice"! I got the Frantic Atlantic and loved it. We got drinks here this past weekend. The vibes and the drinks were amazing. The best drink was the coffee liqueur based bartender's choice drink that my fiance ordered. We both agreed it's the best coffee liqueur drink we had ever had. There was live jazz music and the dim lighting truly created a great ambiance. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the terrible service. We ordered hummus, which didn't come out for about an hour. After which, no one came to check if we wanted any more drinks, although our drinks were done a long time prior. We asked one of the staff members if she could get our waitress and she replied rudely. She took our order but clearly forgot to put in the order because it had been 45 minutes. When asked about our order, she said she would check on it and it came out within minutes. She continued to be rude as we asked for our check. read more

To anyone going, the entrance is not in the ally way, we were standing there for AGES trying to figure out a way in...go around the corner and go through the hotel for the entrance This place had live jazz music! Loved it here. Arrived around 1030 Saturday and had to wait about 20 minutes. Taken 2 stories underground- like a chic, fallout shelter. Initially sat along the wall but when 4 bar seats opened, they moved us there. Watching the bartender was mesmerizing- she was highly skilled and personable- we joked she looked like a mad scientist with all of her potions. She asked my daughter what flavors she enjoys and her a Marie Antoinette. I had a scotch based cocktail that was delicious. They had a small beer selection but what they had was good. A jazz three-piece played in the corner, which added nice vibes. Not cheap but would definitely go back. read more

Overall rating: 4.95 This, this, this! I'm so torn to review because I really really don't want this to hit mainstream it's such a great spot! I am so confused how the ratings are so low and I'm pretty sure because they tried to walk-in. In a post-Covid world, you need a reservation.. While this is in SoHo, it's a very intimate spot. I would come here with 4 people max. It's not for those that are looking to pregame. Go to a dive bar around the corner. I would recommend this for any date you actually like & would like to get to know and flirt. The music is also very good but chill enough that you can have some conversation over which I really like as well! Very cozy spot. Dimly lit. Perfect for a date night. The servers paid close attention to each table and constantly refilled waters, took orders, etc. The drinks are a tad pricey but they obviously come with jazz so you can't complain much. I HIGHLY recommend you make a reservation ahead of time. You'll be able to have your table for 2 hours if you do and the seating is swift. read more

The stars finally aligned this winter and I had the opportunity to try it out. The vibes are perfect. Fog and bubbles, sea noises and all of the art go together seemlessly. Drinks were great. The suits were daily, the walls were gold, and the pressure was so consuming that even success could feel like a form of attrition. After a few years, I moved to a smaller firm with Southern roots, where the culture was more humane, the work gave me greater autonomy, and I produced some of the strongest results of my career, even within an industry still governed by fear, greed, and status. Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. One of those ideas consumed an extraordinary amount of my time and energy, and I believed it might become the foundation of my next chapter. Instead, the arrangement eventually turned on me, the role I thought I had earned never materialized, and the business itself sputtered. My professional life, financial footing, and pride all collapsed just as COVID was beginning. Then Monkey Bar closed in 2020, which made the ending feel almost unnervingly complete: the restaurant, the city, and the version of myself built around New York finance all went dark at once. For years, I experienced that ending as devastating and unfair; now I can see it as wisdom delivered through an unnecessarily rough process. The restaurant's later revival by a Chicago hospitality group feels fitting because it still honors tradition and ceremony while allowing the old forms to evolve into something healthier, looser, and more current. I have not been back since that lunch, but a return now would feel like visiting the museum of my past, not reclaiming a life that asked too much, gave too little, and finally lost its hold on me. Even now, I remember Monkey Bar as a great Midtown lunch in a memorable room, surrounded by the residue of old ambitions and the gratitude of having survived them. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

Just give me a pita! What is that about? But okay, I ordered an extra pita, I'm still hopeful. But out of the 5 pieces of lamb in my kebab, two were *grisly*! They don't give you a sharp knife, so you kind of have to bite off pieces; but when a piece is grisly you can't tear off a piece and end up with a full piece in your mouth, chewing for many minutes around the grisly center. Everyone knows what this is like and it's to be expected in life, but NOT at a high-end restaurant where you've paid a significant margin above the average meal, and don't even get a full pita. Guys, do some QC and soul-searching - and be generous with pita.

Service is very fast and they kept the water flowing (spicy dishes really are spicy!), and the portions are huge. Though you have to pay extra for white rice ($3 a bowl), the overall value was reasonable for the main dishes. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The food: Soup dumplings- had a nice glisten to the outer bun. The under carriage held firm and with a delicious soup bro inside. Fish filet with ginger and scallion- nice portion size and a flavorful and clean dish. Braised pork belly- jam packed in flavor and cooked so tender from the meat to the fat. The pan fried noodle- normally a favorite in Chinese restaurants. This didn't hit its marks. There wasn't much noodles. The outer brim wasn't crispy. And it was a lot of sauce. The protein was scarce. And they had more veggies than protein. We were a table of 5 including a 6 year old. And everybody left full. And satisfied.

Saint Tuesday (Hidden deep beneath 24 Cortlandt Alley, NYC) Pro-tip for the fellas: Do not walk into the Walker Hotel lobby looking for this place like a lost tourist. Walk past the doors, turn right onto Cortlandt Alley, and hunt for a metal staircase. Look for the logo on the doorbell--which is right next to a very un-1920s Ring camera. Ring it, get judged by the camera, and a hostess will appear to guide you past the chaos of the hotel kitchen and down into the abyss. My date/friend took one look at the doorbells, the sketchy basement descent, and the 45-minute wait and whispered, "See, this is a real speakeasy." And honestly? She was right. Once you get past the "am I being kidnapped or getting a cocktail?" phase, the vibes are elite. It's a subterranean concrete basement, but somehow classy--flickering candles, marble tables, and leather banquettes. There's live jazz playing, which immediately makes you feel like a 1920s oil tycoon who just discovered a secret club. A few survival rules for your next date night here: The Romance Factor: The atmosphere basically forces intimacy. Do not be surprised if the couples around you start aggressively canoodling. Act natural. The Seating Lottery: We snagged a spot after 45 minutes, but walk-ins get sent to the back. If you land a bar seat, you win.
