This is my favorite rooftop in the city and I found it only after writing off all rooftops since the experience with places like Le Bain has completely turned me off to them (long lines that stretch out the doors to get in, long lines once you're in to order a drink at the bar, spending $$$ to crowd around). Rooftop 93 is on the 16th flr of the Bowery Hotel and has a beautiful view of the city inside, and then only gets better once you walk another flight up to the outdoor roof area. There's a small bar there with very friendly bartenders who are quick and efficient. There's a great happy hour deal with beer and well drinks. For people who avoid hard liquor, this place also has these delicious champagne drinks served in a big glass with a spiked champagne popsicle. This is a great place to go with a big group of friends or on a date since it is usually not packed! read more

The vibes are everything!!! dim candlelight, chic atmosphere, and those skyline views that make you stop mid conversation just to take it all in. At night, the city lights stretch out in every direction and it feels like the perfect NYC moment. We ordered the Bowery Margarita and it did not disappoint fresh, smooth, and perfectly balanced with that citrus kick. The presentation was gorgeous too, topped with a dried orange slice that felt just as Instagram-worthy as it was delicious. It's the kind of spot that works equally well for a date night, catching up with friends, or just sipping a drink while soaking in the view. Definitely one of those "only in New York" experiences. Came here on a NYC trip we usually do a rooftop or two while visiting this is a cute little rooftop in the LES, reservations should be made although when we went it was pretty good crowd not over whelming. Both service and bartenders were great but even better were the cocktails, strong and smooth. Average cost per drink depending on what you order is between 14-18 which isn't bad for NYC. Drinks to definitely try the Manhattan and the Lychee Martini. Service when ordering was also good. The view from the empire is great and the music is a vibe. I'm not sure if we just came at the right time, but it wasn't as crowded as most other rooftop bars on a Saturday evening. Yes, the space is a lot smaller than Mr. Purple or the other over-glorified spots, but it does the trick and the views are still gorgeous. Drinks were kinda pricey for the size - $12 for a small Rum Punch - but, when in Rome... Came in last Saturday night. The place does have some good views and is very spacious, however one of the bartenders working that night made the whole experience very unpleasant. She had an attitude while speaking to me and handing me a can of hard seltzer, ending in being the one time in my life I did not leave a tip. Not only did she make me uncomfortable and was straight out rude, she did not make the drink, just handed me the can which I feel like justified the no tipping. I paid $12 for the can which was pricey but pretty typical for New York rooftop prices. The worst part is when I've seen my credit card statement, I realized she added a $2 tip for herself. Again I usually always tip bartenders, this was the only time I didn't. I assume this is something easy for her to get away with, because people might not remember if they tipped or not or just let it slide since it was just the $2. Obviously the issue is not the $2, but the fact that I cannot trust to come back to this place if they will be adding tips here and there as they see fit; who knows how many customers that's been done to, in addition to the terrible service. My boyfriend and I decided to come here for drinks and we got some of the drinks with popsicles inside. In my case it was a lychee popsicle. The drinks were disgusting, the kind of drink I would have drank as a poor college kid just trying to get drunk. The view from the top also wasn't that great as you were too low down to see the whole city well and the view of the area was not that impressive. The place was also quite loud and noisy like it was trying to be a bad dance club, but since there weren't that many people inside it was just kind of boring and awkward. Located at the 17th and 18th floor rooftop bar inside Wyndham Garden Chinatown. We were checked in to the hotel for New Year's Eve so we decided to check this rooftop bar out. They were having NYE event so we bought tickets through Eventbrite! The party was fun. It ran for 4 hours with open bar leading up to midnight. You get a pretty nice view of NYC up here! It was a nice experience! The staff were nice and accommodating! We'd probably be coming back to try this some other time when they don't have an event and just open for regular bar operations! But over all, this rooftop bar is awesome and if you are looking for a place to enjoy a breathtaking view of Downtown Manhattan including seeing the Empire State Building, you should try this place! read more

Generally speaking I am usually not a big fan of rooftop bars. They're usually overcrowded with tourists or bridge and tunnel trolls, overpriced and overhyped. Rooftops bars usually fall under the category of things in New York you think are fun in theory but when you get there, you realize it's actually not fun and that people coerce themselves into thinking it's fun because the said experience is supposed to be fun so therefore it must be fun. That being said, I went to rooftop 93 the other night because my friend organized a birthday party there. It was actually a relatively fun time. Great views. Good food. Nice decor. Somewhat pricey but decent for a rooftop bar. I got the nachos, which had a bit of a Korean twang to it with some kimchi and other Korean ingredients. It was tasty. The place is kind of small but I came here on a weeknight so it wasn't too crowded. All in all, I'd come back again if I had a friend in town and they wanted to hit up a rooftop bar. read more

My girlfriend and I were visiting New York and wanted to go to a rooftop bar. We felt like it would add to our experience in NY. We found Rooftop 93 which has happy hour every day from 4-8pm and had decent prices. We decided to come here on Sunday at around 7:30pm and we were immediately seated with a window view. The seats were more like stools in that they didn't have backs, so it wasn't the most comfortable, but it was still nice. The server gave us the drink menu (which is impossible to read in their lighting) and came back after we looked at the menu for a while. I ordered the summer breeze and my girlfriend ordered the tropical island. Both of us really liked summer breeze but tropical island tasted a little like cough syrup to us. (We don't drink often though so we don't know our cocktails) I'm giving this place 4 stars because the server didn't give us a food menu and it was just a place to sit down and drink. There isn't much going on there. There's music playing but the vibes of going out and drinking isn't there. The vibe of going to drink with a co-worker also isn't there. I don't really know when one would come here other than to see the view as a tourist. Aside from that, the service and view was nice. Happy hour technically ends at 8pm, but it isn't a strict deadline and they came around at 8 and asked if we wanted anything else before they end happy hour. read more

We came a few weeks ago when the weather started getting nice, so it was a great way to kick off the spring weather. Rooftop 93 is not just a rooftop, they have a lounge area inside as well. But you are really coming here for the rooftop and NYC views. To go into Rooftop 93, you will need to first walk into the hotel lobby and take the elevator up which will then lead you the lounge area. We got the popsicle cocktails (Citris Mojito and Ooh la Lychee), both were very tasty but very strong at the beginning when the popsicle did not melt yet. Cocktails prices are typical NYC prices, so I'd say come here, relax, get a pretty cocktail and enjoy the view :) read more

Rooftop93 is a small rooftop located inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel. I entered the hotel and headed up to the 18th floor(the rooftop is labeled in the elevator). We exited the elevator and security asks you for your ID, then you can make your way to your table. This was one of the most inviting and unpretentious rooftops I've ever experienced. There were a bunch of empty tables and we took a seat. Shortly thereafter, an employee came over and asked if we wanted a drink. I didn't have a menu at this point, and he said he would return. However, another lady came over and we placed an order with her. They have about 6 food options but none of them peaked my interest-- my friend went with the spring rolls and pulled pork nachos. During Happy Hour the food items are buy one, get one half off. The drinks are $8, but not all, just about five or six. The Blue Lagoon was the clear cut favorite (coconut rum and a few other things, but it's a must try) After a few hours downstairs, we wanted to go upstairs to the rooftop for a few photos. However, it was way too cold by this point. I did notice a small bar up there and some comfortable seating. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here; but one interesting feat, is they only played Hip Hop/Trap Music. I was a little surprised because of the Chinatown location, and thought it would probably be Top 40. However, I didn't mind too much, and it didn't seem like anyone else did either. In short, a nice comfortable, unpretentious rooftop with nice Happy Hour options and friendly staff. Most rooftops could take a pointer from them, especially staff wise, in how to treat people. Rooftop 93 would have received 5 stars simply from it boasting such breathtaking rooftop views! However, they are receiving 3 out of 5 stars due to the experience we had before getting up to the rooftop itself...Either way it is definitely a place that I recommend people come and visit at least once since the views are beautiful! I will come back to that after describing the experience from the beginning... Rooftop 93 is located in Chinatown. We took the elevator up and was greeted by the nicest Security Guard/Bouncer who checked our ID's before allowing us to select any of their lounge style seating. The inside lounge area is quaint and comfortable with a bar as well as a mixture of small tables and seating arrangements (couches, leather chairs etc.) Halloween themed decorations were displayed. Great Hip Hop/Trap music was booming loud from the speakers, which was fine with me. We danced in our seats as we checked the menu-lol. Soon realizing that Rooftop 93 does not serve food (based on information we were told via our server), we decided to order a drink to go with the lovely ambiance. We agreed that we would eat somewhere else later. It was indicated that we would receive a free shot each upon checking in on Yelp. We each checked-in and then the server told us the fine print stating that we have to order a drink first and then you get a free shot to go along with it....Ok, so we ordered Manhattan Peach Cocktails ($15) and then we were told by the server that they have no more of the peach flavored Popsicles that go into the cocktail. By this point we just opted to have the cocktail without the popsicle which tasted interesting for lack of a better word, since there was no peach popsicle. The free shot had a lemon flavored taste which was actually light and refreshing. It was suggested that we leave the style seating to go upstairs and enjoy the rooftop views which was the exciting part of the entire evening! 5 stars all the way! Why? Because the rooftop views at Rooftop 93 are truly spectacular! I could not stop oohing and aahing every second!-lol. I also could not stop myself from taking pictures from just about every angle. So nice and intimate, this rooftop has some bench style seating with sophisticated lighting. It is definitely romantic and is ideal to take a date or to spend time with that special someone in your life. Yes, I would definitely recommend this place to come and visit at least once to see the views. Hopefully, they will have all of the ingredients to create the cocktails that you order. So I truly enjoyed myself at this spot........this place has one huge con......however the pros truly outweigh the con I initially thought would ruin my evening..... I went here for my Birthday turn up.....I arrived on a Saturday around 7pm and there was a pretty good crowd.....the lounge place is small with a few tables in place ......one side wall is all mirrors that reflect on the all window side ....the bar is as soon as you get off the elevator and seats maybe 6 people at the most......it is a full bar......to get to the roof top you have to walk up a flight of stairs..... Cons: The rooftop is EXTREMELY SMALL looks more like someone back yard deck......and no glassware what so ever is allowed on the rooftop..... Pros: customer service is great.....huge shout out to Madison the bartender......drinks are really strong with premium liquor....and they even have a happy hour on the weekends till 8pm...the music is diverse and all on the charts.....and the bathrooms were super duper cute and clean.... What to expect: ID will be checked as soon as you get off the 18th floor elevator......they did not have a full menu.....simply appetizers......even thought everyone goes for the popsicle drink it is only worth the IG pic......the other signature drinks are more worthy of praise.....staff is very understanding of everybody trying to get the perfect pic.....even with the lounge area being crowded people seem to rotate very quickly so you will eventually get a seat.......even thought the actually rooftop is small and can become super crowded it is worth squeezing up there to get a good pic..... Hi, I don't recommend this place whatsoever to anyone! Please stay away! We came here for New Year's Eve. We paid our tickets but the staff tried to extort money out of us to access the rooftop section. We paid $700 for 2 tickets and they told us "kick us some bread" to go outside for air. I refused since I had already tipped the staff over $300 for drinks. I feel a little stupid for spending 1k at this place. This wasn't a staff problem because we complained to the event organizers and they told just tip them so they were aware of they're staff doing this of the bat! I get it money gets thing moving a little bit quicker but once your out cash and you've spent X mount on f money at joint. That management would be a little more professional instead of being ghetto!! read more

I was so excited to find a rooftop bar with a Happy Hour deal in the city so I definitely had to go! I came by on a Thursday evening and luckily were able to find a table. Note: you need a party of 6+ if you want to sit in the back area, which has really nice seating! The view here is amazing (at least for a view of Chinatown) and there is no cover when you walk in. Drinks here aren't cheap, so I only recommend coming for happy hour. I was a bit disappointed that their $8 HH deal special is gone, but they have a new special which is bogo1/2 off. My friend ordered the Blue Lagoon and it is soooo good. Highly recommend it if you like coconutty, pina-colada-esque drinks. I decided to go with my go to cranberry vodka which was decent. I love me a rooftop during the summer and with so many options in NYC it's hard to make a choice. My co-worker and I came here right after work on Thursday. The rooftop bar is located on the 18th floor of a hotel smack in the middle of Chinatown. When we first got off the elevator we see an indoor bar with large windows giving us a cool view of lower Manhattan. I was nervous that maybe I mistakenly read there is an outdoor area so I asked the bartender there and she pointed us to the directions of the stairs to go one more flight up for the outdoor rooftop. The rooftop was fairly empty when we were there. Someone booked the end of the roof to throw a birthday party and was setting up decorations. My friend ordered the Berry Blubby that is part of the Popsicle drink menu and I got the summer breeze cocktail. I've never enjoyed crowding in to a spot and trying to gorge as much food/drink as I can before a certain time when said same food/drink becomes expensive. Not my thing. However. When you live in a prohibitively expensive city, I get why and how happy hours become a thing. So, I came here for happy hour. I was pleased to note that happy hour ran until 8 so there wasn't much of a stampede in order to take part of it. I was happy to partake of the vibe and drinks inside, but my friends wanted to be on the roof (it's in the name), take pictures and the like. Even though it was *not* warm, I played along. I'm a giver like that. The views *were* impressive. Again, a million years ago when I lived in the Mid-Atlantic, I never spent time downtown and taking in the midtown/city views. That was a mistake. They're gorgeous. And, iconic. And, when turning my head to look toward the water and where the towers were, a bit awe-inspiring. The happy hour specials weren't so awe-inspiring but they were effective at getting the job done.* You could either get $7 well traditional drinks (jack & Coke, etc.) or buy one get one 1/2 off their HH menu (and, sugary... not a bad thing but you should know before buying) drinks. I did both. I will not be judged. A flurry of rum, pineapple, blue curacao, orange juice, and all iterations of punch ever, I was in a good mood and not that broke. This is a tourist trap, which is fine we need those. The views from this rooftop are also worth the overpriced trash drinks and non-existent customer service. The actual outdoor rooftop is very small. It fits like 40 people. Most people end up going down to the lower floor because they are tired of being a sardine. Attended a private event here recently, and the views were absolutely gorgeous. It's located on the 18th floor of the Wyndham Garden in Chinatown, so looking north and west, there isn't really much obstructing your view. They have both an indoor space and the upstairs outdoor deck, and with those sunset views and plentiful food and drinks, it was a great spot for a party. The food was hit or miss, but the lobster tacos were my favorite. This cozy little rooftop bar is a little hidden gem in china town. The place is rather small with an indoor area as well as a little rooftop area. It has great views of the freedom tower and a cityscape that offers a different view into the city of dreams. I would say that if you're looking for a place to party tonight, I'd probably recommend another spot - but if you want to come for a drink before hand to then go to a local hot spot - then it's worth a shot. My experience with that staff was rather pleasant and the cocktail server was actually very nice and genuine and didn't mind that my friend and I were just there for the happy hour. Overall I had a good time, enjoyed the views and once the happy hour was over we went on our merry way to Joe's Shanghai.
