Decided to stop by for a quick drink around 11:30 PM. Thankfully there was no line when we arrived, but by the time we left around 1 AM there was already a line forming. IDs are checked at the door and bags are checked once inside. Drinks were definitely pricey, which I expected and don't mind as long as they're good but unfortunately the Codigo margarita was extremely sour. It seemed like it might have been the mix they use, and the tequila tasted pretty cheap considering the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was packed with a younger crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music was a min one minute a Spanish song, the next country pop which felt a bit random.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But will return in the summer to give it another try.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Mr. Purple is very spacious rooftop bar and restaurant located on the 15th floor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mr. Purple's interior decor is very nice from moment you step off the elevator, walk around the bar/restaurant area and finally arrive to the rooftop/pool area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My bestie and I were here to attend an event and we had a wonderful time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a DJ playing a variety of music from different genres. We were enjoying the music and having a great time dancing as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view from the rooftop was cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The rooftop area was decent, but in terms of size it was okay as long as it wasn't overly crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the fact that there was a pool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, it is a cool spot to hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This review is specifically for the outdoor rooftop viewing area of Downtown NYC, as I did not try drinks here; we only came for the rooftop views lol. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Terrific panoramic views of all the buildings, probably would be better to see at night but we were in the area and came in later afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a small pool outside too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I hung out here several times during my weekend stay at the hotel this past summer. We enjoyed the fantastic rooftop views and the pool. We even came up one night after dinner for the party vibes. It's definitely a younger crowd. Drinks were a but pricey, but not over the top. It is NYC after all. I think they charge a cover for the rooftop party after a certain time, but we didn't pay one - maybe it's free if you're a hotel guest?! Don't quote me on that. Well the one downside is that the music is very loud and when we got back to our room, we could still hear it!

Mr. Purple is located in the lower east side. They have promising views of the city and the outdoor space is pretty large. They also have a gorgeous bar area with ample of seating as well. I recommend reservations for the weekends. Service was attentive and the music was a vibe. The only ding was drinks were pretty pricey $23 and food was $16 and up. Not sure if I can justify the pricing but overall the venue is pretty solid.

I came here to bar hop with friends and it was a pretty decent spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the bar is pretty spacious with different levels and a huge patio area (that would be great for warmer days).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks and service here is decent.

We came for the rooftop views, which you can see a peep of the skyline from a few angles. There is also a pool that no one goes in where all the bottle service tables are situated around. The space was crowded on a Thursday night with the DJ spinning on the terrace. We ended up moving to the outdoor space on the other end, which was much more chill. This side had some seating and no DJ, but a speaker playing music still. We were able to easily get a drink at the bar though, which were around $20 each. It's Manhattan, so pretty typical prices here. I do like that they have a more quiet side for people to enjoy as well, although not as great of a view on this side. It's a decent rooftop bar in NYC, but good for balance.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Service was good. We had the fried chicken Benedict and the crab cake Benedict. I was a bit confused when I saw that each Benedict dish only had one poached egg - shouldn't it always be two? I guess that's shrinkflation (plus inflation) for you. That bent said, the crab cake was actually really big and filling. The side of potatoes were really delicious. Would I come back for brunch again? Very unlikely. But, it does seem like a pretty "safe choice" if you need a last minute reservation for a group.
