I am stuck going here once a month because I have a close friend with nostalgia for the bar that used to be here and can't seem to move on. This is basically the worst watering hole I have ever experienced in NYC, and I am a regular (and yes, I realize it is a dive). Punky dive bar with gross sounding special drinks. Love the dive vibe in this place. Wasn't too crazy when I went although, it was the night before New Years. Never had to wait to see a bar tender which was nice. Ass juice is their signature mixed liquor beverage known to not taste like booze but be full of it. PBR on tap. Bathrooms were actually nice when I went "early" in the night. Pool table available. Sign said something about a beer garden but being 10 degrees I didn't check it out. I visited this bar for the first time on a Saturday following dinner with girl friends. We had a group of 6 girls and within 10 minutes of arriving 3 of the 6 had phones stolen (from zipped purses.) The phones immediately had locations turned off and the thief was QUICK and discrete. After this incident we learned this also happened to another friend on a different weekend at Spring Lounge. The establishment doesn't seem to make any efforts to stop this behavior and was annoyed by us asking for help. I will not be going back and would urge anyone going to this bar to proceed with caution, keep your phone in your hand at all times, and be on the lookout for others. read more

Can get loud, crowded, and boisterous. Yet, it's a homey feeling divey kind of bar that is a focal point and meeting spot of this neighborhood. Been here a bunch of times over the years to have a few cold ones with friends. Standard domestic bottled beers on the menu along with a mix of crafty cans. Prices average $6-$7 a beer. Came here with some buddies, had an absolutely BIZARRE experience. My friend had been waiting in line for the men's room for 10 minutes- got to the front and a couple cut him in line. The woman announced she would be going to the men's room next (even though the woman's room had no line). My friend questioned why, she just said "because I want to." Her male friend then said she worked there, so my friend let it go. She went into the men's room, while her male friend went in the women's room (I have no idea why). When the woman came out, she apologized to my friend and offered him a free drink at the bar. He said thanks and used the bathroom. When he went to the bar after, the woman said he was cut off and told all the bartenders not to serve him. She refused to explain why. Later, they told security to kick us all out. Again, no explanation, just this bizarre bartender who cut the bathroom line? Maybe she was salty at my friend for questioning her cutting the bathroom line, but it's a fair question and he was never rude. Maybe it's a race thing. I don't really know but will not go back, and will not be recommending this place to anyone... read more

Came here while waiting to be seated at Ruby's, a popular restaurant nearby. This bar is pretty spot on for what you expect out of a bar -- drinks, TVs and tables. I would say this place is on the more average side but the staff is friendly and we can't complain about the experience. My bf said the cider here was one of the best he has had, so maybe try that one out! read more

What an awful experience! Will never recommend and never be back. Great NYC bars are also known for their friendly, down to earth bouncers. For folks who frequent bars like this, a friendly constant at the door is always great to have. Then you have establishments like this divey shit hole who employs rude douchebags as door people. Seems like they found their bouncer through a Craigslist help wanted post. Long story short, I was having drinks with a couple of friends, stepped outside for a few minutes and when I tried to come back in, he just wouldn't let me in. I told him I just came out from inside, we have a tab open and two friends at the bar and he said "I don't remember you and you're not going back in". No rhyme or reason. Just a shit attitude. Don't come here unless you want to be treated like crap by a disgusting bouncer in an overcrowded bar. I had to text my friends to tell them to close the tab because the bouncer wouldn't let me back in. What a joke! Let's add this bar to the list of permanent closures due to the pandemic! It's entertaining to read all the other reviews about the Spring Lounge, probably because I didn't interact with any staff and consequently didn't experience any rudeness or racism. I was meeting up with a friend who said he was chilling here. Somehow he managed to get a table in the back room. This place is super packed and rowdy! Seems to have a decent selection of standard beers at standard New York prices. Nothing special. Is it weird that I was tempted to give the Spring Lounge an extra star for quality people watching? Came here one time after a volunteer event at work. Typical dive bar-ish setting, but it served the purpose for us. I enjoyed the long-ish tables that allowed our large group to sit and enjoy ourselves. The wraparound windows give a nice touch too as you overlook all the people that are walking along Spring Street. Hmm. This is a neighbourhood bar, which is great to have in the middle of SoHo since everything is hoity toidy tourist shit/instagram fodder. It was pretty crowded with people in the mid-40s and everyone seemed to be having a nice time. The bartender was very quick and nice, even remember my order and name after my first drink. It's crazy hot inside though, there is no AC. So we were sweating a storm. I got two gin and sodas and one cider and it was thirty dollars. Hence the three stars. Justin was the rudest server I've ever had in my 32 years of life. He flirted aggressively with my friend Tatijana and made her extremely uncomfortable. He called for a break on his shift after we were leaving and followed us for about 10 blocks. When we told him to stop following us, he called us ugly and fat and spit on us. I would never recommend going here as a woman or just anybody in general. The Spring lounge is not a safe place and has an extremely dangerous environment. This place needs to be shut down immediately. We came for drinks we got some appetizers we found multiple hairs in our food. I feel like there's multiple health code, violations, and customer service violations. Justin took things too far and triggered my friend Tatijana. She has extreme PTSD due to men, and he even tried to touch her after she disclosed her trauma. read more

Ain't no party like a beer club party! Unless that party also happens to coincide with an event for Victory Brewing and includes free food! My beer club met here for the Victory Brewing event (with special appearance from a member of my other beer club) and we had a great time. The space is very cool. Lots of places to sit or stand, fairly easy to get access to the bar, lots of windows that were open...I liked it. The beer was great. Victory reps were on hand and they had numerous selections on tap. I personally had these St. Victorious (doppelbock) and the Hop Devil- East Coast IPA, which is not as hoppy as most IPAs , and a little darker. Both were great. Others in the group had the St. Boisterous, the Prima Pils and the Saison Du Buff, which was roundly praised. The free food was decent too. Bratwurst were great but pulled pork was kinda salty. Nice bartenders, friendly crowd, a very enjoyable place. The only room for improvement I could see is if the beers were poured a little more cleanly. Had some very uneven pours and the glasses were usually very messy and wet with beer. What can I say, I like a glass that isn't too sloppy! I reserve that for other things! Plus there was a really nice dog there. He was old but so cute. Definitely put this on your list. read more

The worst experience I've ever had in a bar. This is my first Yelp review but I feel compelled to complain about the rudest bartender I've ever encountered. We sat down at noon (in a relatively empty bar) and more than half of our group ordered drinks. We hadn't been there longer than 10 minutes before the bartender came over and essentially berated us for taking up a table when some of us weren't drinking. Told us we "shouldn't be in a bar if we aren't drinking", despite the fact that six of us were. Told us we all had to "get a drink or get out". Our party immediately finished our drinks and left and will never return because of the interaction. Absolute miserable human being. P.S. He didn't kick out the man who was eating a sandwich off of the floor and watching porn in the corner, so I guess that's just the preferred clientele for this shithole read more

Spring Lounge was my saving grace for a last minute large reservation for drinks for my company's staff outing. We were able to reserve the back room area for our group of 30 which was a perfect size space for people who wanted to sit and drink or stand and chat. Although the rest of the bar was super busy, the bartenders kept our drinks flowing with little to no wait time. I'll definitely be back! read more
