Thinking there was more space in the back I led my group of four to the back of the bar and one of my friends was told by the bartender he wouldn't serve her because there was a "private party" going on. There was no indication of it being a private space, merely tiny illegible signs on one table. If they wanted to exclude others from "trespassing" they should think about putting some barricades to avoid confusion. My friends threw me a surprise party at Mister Paradise and we had a great time! The minimum spend was not too high and we were able to order drinks / food from the happy hour menu. They let us bring in our own cake and brought it out with candles. Their drinks were very good. My favorite was their pornstar martini which is somehow as clear as water. Overall, great place. Before I start: trevor(i pray that is how they spell it) is an absolute gem of a human. Elevated, elegant, and sensual. The interior is sleek, modern, and the booths are just calling for a drunk make out sesh--not without a few drinks first. Those dim lights, a well executed menu. Please get the spicy lobster. I came here with a friend for drinks on a Tuesday night. We got there around 9pm; we sat at the bar, since those were the only seats available. Came for a company happy hour and everyone agreed that the food was delicious, the vibes were immaculate, and the drinks were great. Our group was quickly served drinks and dishes, everything from wine, cocktails, breads, dips, sliders, charcuterie and every bar tapa you can think of under the sun. I tried the cougar magnum and party lobster cocktails which were both tasty. They also do a great job with the classics such as gin & tonics, espresso martinis, and lemon drop shots to name a few of what I sampled. My favorite bites for the night were the beef sliders and the toasted bread with cheese, charcuterie, and jam. Ambiance is that of an upscale moody lounge. And since our group was big, we were able to secure both a booth and the red room. The red room was a great sultry vibe and service staff came to check on us multiple times during our visit. Absolutely wonderful bar with the most welcoming staff and energy. The place is beautifully appointed, has been open since around 2019, and service is as good as it gets for really reasonable prices (reasonable by East Village standards). Shout out to bartender Tony who immediately picked up on my energy when I said: "I would like something in the spritz family but I don't really know what." After a short amount of deliberation on the silliness scale of my cocktail (aperol spritz being a 0, I told him to please make me a 10) he served me a punchy drink in a Disney princess sippy cup MUCH to my delight. They know how to do conversation starters and hospitality at this bar, so I highly recommend for solo travelers looking to make friends/have fun. Complimentary espresso martini shots were shared among the bar, and I left with great memories and a strong buzz. I came around 5:30 on a Saturday and was able to easily find a seat at the bar, but it filled in very soon after. I didn't try and food but the menu seems great. If you're considering booking this place for a group event/birthday get ready to get ignored for 20 minutes before getting to talk to anyone for service, and get ready for a broken table in the room!! I booked their red room for my birthday and I confirmed the booking with them via email multiple times. When we arrived NO ONE hosted us or led us to the room, and it took forever for me to try to talk to someone to get us seated. Star of the show was that the marble table in their red room was BROKEN! Yet no one told me about this before our arrival and I literally had to 1) navigated the bar by myself to find the Red Room; 2) walked in the room with no one serving us to find that the table was crashed. Stopped in on a Saturday night at around 8 for a drink while we waited for our 9 PM reservation at Upstate. Let me just say, I love a bar where there is seating. It wasn't too packed, and they actually have tables. And clean tables at that. The music was good and it wasn't too loud, which allowed me and my girlfriends to have a conversation. I don't care if any of what I just said shows my age. It is primarily a cocktail bar but I was in the mood for a beer, and they only have cans. Would be nice if they had a few on draft but again, I guess since people probably mainly go there for cocktails, there probably isn't much of a demand for it. I also saw they have a food menu, which looked pretty good. If we weren't grabbing food at Upstate, I might have ordered the fried chicken sammie or the burger, which were reasonably priced. It's a really fun vibe in here and it's lively on the weekends with a mix of people sitting at the booths, at the bar, or standing. They play music but it's not too loud. Stumbled upon this after a recommendation from pouring ribbons, and will DEFINITELY be adding it to my list. Stopped by for a drink and ended up spending hours here, which is always how it goes. Service was outstanding and there was no room at the bar, so they sat us in the entry way. Perfectly fine, able to people watch, and then moved once bar stools opened up. Chatted with Jack, and will definitely be back to try more creations. Had the watermelon cocktail, and asked for extra spicy, was well made and well balanced with a decent amount of heat to it. Can't remember the drink after, and then moved onto a few bartenders choices. Had the truffle fries as a snack as well, and their dipping sauce was stellar. I love having really great cocktail bars make drinks not on menu, because they're always on point. Atmosphere was lively and a mixed bunch, and was definitely worth visiting. This was a great bar and I'm glad I came - a really creative cocktail menu with a lot of original ideas and all of them had the ingredients shine through in a way that was inventive but familiar. At $15-16 per cocktail it's pricy but not unlike anywhere else in Manhattan and the drinks were better then mostly anywhere I've had so far. I can't even remember what I tried but my favorite was the Dara's Mom which was sweet, sour, tangy, etc. All of their drinks were boozy too which I appreciated. Nothing drives me crazier than when I pay for a $16 cocktail that's mostly juice. The place itself is cool and the service was fast for the most part except for, ironically, the end of the night at which point the check took awhile to come. With that said, they were able to split easily as it was all electronic so it was a fast system. All in all, would absolutely come back. Great cocktails at a great price. I was referred here by a different cocktail bar if you would believe it. I was once again trying to get into Death and Co only to encounter an exceptionally long wait. The doorman recommended this as a an option, and it was excellent! I ordered a Party Lobster (I think) and a CrossFit Breakfast. both of these were awesome! Very tasty, and of a good strength! Not to have you befriending the stop light; but neither had me asking "where's the booze?". Almost ordered a second CrossFit shot too, and I am generally not a lover of shots. Location has a classy, upscale vibe. I almost want to say it's West Coast-y but I could be tremendously wrong on this. Still classy! The service was very good too. It was fast and friendly! As I was walking in a cute dog walked by, and everyone leaned out to have a look. That is to say despite everything, there is still some homey-ness about the service. They had frozen drinks and one was the Justin Bieber but bc my friend was a bartender and we were going to their bar next I opted out. EVERYONE was ordering it it was some coconut umami flavor a MUST try. The whole cocktail menu was cute and I think they had 5 options to eat. But from the street I knew I wanted the house burger. It's just something about a place that has a special burger that you know they put some TLC into it. The burger was only dressed in cheese and if I tell you it was so juicy nothing else was required. The martinelli bun was just how it should be. I also ordered fries which are only great and amazing while hot and fresh and come with their own zesty sauce. And then there were oysters. I should have led with this. They are perfectly priced n little cute and the f-ing minuet or however you spell that sauce- myyyy God. It has watermelon it was like vinegary and just the exact flavor that should pair with the perfect little oysters. I was mad I had to go. My visit was brief but effective I came I ate I drank and I wanted to order another spectacular drink so bad I will definitely return. The drinks were excellent. But I would probably never eat here again. It's mostly finger foods and whatever they attempt at a meal is underwhelming and not flavorful. Maybe it's because I came in on an empty stomach after downing a whole bucket of popcorn, but the burger was salt central. This bar is so cool. I loved the tropical mixed with art deco vibes. You could come here for a nice cocktail with an appetizer like we did or have a meal although the menu is small. The Crab Toast is on another level. It seems simple but the flavors just go so well together and it comes piled high with a ton of jumbo lump crab. You get a nice crusty piece of sourdough topped with creme fraiche and the crab, alongside a slice of lemon for a nice burst of acid that brings it all together. I also loved every cocktail we had.
