Perfect for seafood lovers. The true highlight here is the staff. The restaurant was running behind and the manager, Natalie was kind enough to cover the first round. I ordered the Velvet Island (vacation in a class). We ordered the Le Prince to share-loved the oysters and shrimp cocktail, could have done without the clams and crab salad(lacked flavor). For our mains, we got the lobster spaghetti, lobster roll and steak frites. My friends really enjoyed their mains. Again the lobster roll was just okay. Natalie was kind enough to off the Caesar salad and it was delicious. I'd def get that and the shrimp cocktail again. I want to go back for brunch.

The vibe is so cool - what a neat place with excellent seafood, great wine list and even better 80s music!! Great time and wonderful food

Jeffrey's is a quaint restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Was seated promptly and server was informative on specials. Ordered the tuna tartare appetizer, le prince seafood, and the lobster roll with fries. They have an extensive drinks list as well. The tuna came first, and this was one of my favorites. Nice temperature dipped with chips. Chips are also good alone. The seafood dish I ordered came with 10 oysters, 4 little neck clams, 4 shrimp and a crab salad. It was okay, don't think I would order it again. There wasn't one thing that stood out on there. Lobster roll came with fries but it is extra. It was hot, and buttery. It is pricey here but you do get what you pay for. Nice to try if you are in the area and have a reservation or be prepared to wait or sit at the bar seats which are limited.

Made a reservation on open table for this restaurant. Our server was great. Good food, the chef even went out of his way to get Tabasco for my husband for the oysters. We also got Cesar salad and lobster roll. The lobster roll probably would have been better with heated bread. I was impressed that the Cesar salad was a high degree of lettuce I think young kale. Cute place with limited seating there is outside but nobody was wanting to sit there as it was so cold the day we visited. Tip make a reservation on open table because there is very limited seating inside, they do have a covered patio and uncovered patio as well

Very cute seafood forward spot in the village. We got a bunch of stuff to share including the oysters, shrimp cocktail, salad, lobster roll and crab dip. The 2 must try for me would be the shrimp cocktail and crab dip!

Stopped in for lunch on my daughter's recommendation of places to eat while visiting NYC. It's a very small and quaint location on the corner. Really nice inside and my server was Roden and he did an excellent job! I ordered the lobster roll which I was told is a house favorite. I also added the French fries for $4 and I'm glad I did. Lobster roll was a good size portion and was very tasty. The fries were light and crispy. An absolute perfect combination!

A cute spot for a seafood brunch tucked away in West Village -- they have a ton of great outdoor seating, waiters were very nice. The Breakfast Platter was delicious -- super fresh, tons of variety, good to split if you like to sample a ton of things. Pacific Oysters were yummy! Obligatory pancakes for the table were great too. I'd definitely come back!

good food, good drinks, great ambience. only thing that could improve are the prices, but that's expected for the area. I also wish that they have a few more options for friends/family who don't like seafood, but only because I love bringing people to this place!

Excellent little spot in the west village. Had to wait for a table but it was only 15 minutes. While this is a seafood heavy place they have a few vegetarian options. I mostly just wanted a martini and my friend wanted oysters. She said the oysters were delicious! I got the kale Caesar and some fries. Loved the setting outside and the staff were some of the friendliest!

Sunday brunch - we got lucky with such good weather that we had an option to sit outdoors or indoors , both equally appealing . We opted and sat right by the window in the front which is the perfect place . The place is small , cozy , well decorated and within theme - seafood . Their brunch menu has so many great options and since I've had my mind set on the lobster roll , that's what I got with a the chips . I'm glad I didn't have a change of heart as it was delicious , just the right amount of lobster in the traditional bread doused with butter and lemon on the side . We shared some oysters and my friends both had the lobster omelette which they seemed to have enjoyed as well , both plates were polished off. I normally have an alcoholic beverage with brunch and the lobster roll would pair nicely with a glass of white or bubbles but being under the weather , orange juice sufficed . I would love to come back for dinner and explore the menu which I expect to be equally as delectable. Service was exceptional, helpful , friendly , attentive and the pacing and timing was on point .

Yes, GREAT. Had a super quick 36-hour trip back to NYC and was eager to get in a seafood meal. My niece was able to snag a reservation at Jeffrey's Grocery which I knew of but never had a chance to try before leaving New York 5 years ago. And again, yes, this was a GREAT meal. We began with a half dozen West Coast Oysters. No idea what they specifically were, but a nice medium size with a buttery finish. We also shared the crab dip (delicious) and olives. The tuna tartare with homemade BBQ potato chips were a delight. The best tartare I have had in a while, and a large enough portion that along with the apps, was more than enough as a main dish. Rest of the family had the lobster roll and spaghetti with lobster. The food tasted fresh, everything was seasoned to perfection, and portion sizes seemed just right. Plates were cleaned and the service really could not have been any better. Truly a service with a smile establishment. I shall return!

    Bread Pudding

Back again to Jeffrey's Grocery and it did not disappoint. This time I brought my nephew - a real foodie. Cocktails were excellent and our server was knowledgeable on the tequila's they offer - my preference. We started with the crab dip and fried artichokes- both delicious! While I consumed mussels my nephew chose steak frites and we were both happy. My only criticism was the bread pudding, which in my opinion was too much bread and not enough pudding. (See photo below) Try another dessert if you are in the mood. The place was packed, but we were still able to have a conversation and our server was delightful. Overall, a great place to celebrate the holidays or any other occasion.

    Chocolate dessert-very rich

I would say 3.5 stars but since my girlfriend liked her meal so much I'm giving the extra half. We started with the crab dip. I thought it was ok but lacked flavor. My gf really liked it. For mains, she ordered the lobster pasta. We both thought it was excellent. Nice flavor, a fair amount of lobster and the bread crumbs on top really finished it nicely. I ordered the lobster roll. Thought it was only fair. Not much flavor and a very small portion. It was cooked well but just average imo. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse tote dessert and the olive oil cake. The chocolate dessert was ok but very rich. The olive oil cake was horrible! We took two bites and that was all we could take. Tasted like old stale cake with oil on it. Our server was very nice and took very good care of us. I only wish I liked my food as much as my gf. Food was overpriced for the portion size also.

Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!
