A tasty beer made in Colorado, and Victor the bartender
David J.

Really enjoyed their Happy Hour specials, which came with unexpected treats, which I won't divulge. Victor the bartender and Anthony the owner were hospitable and cordial. We got the Mexican "hot" chocolate espresso martini, and loved it. For food, we enjoyed the grilled "Caesar cups" and the $10 Happy Hour pasta, which was a nice portion for the price. We live in the neighborhood and will be happy to return soon.

When we came in around 6 pm for dinner, the restaurant was pretty empty. It got full shortly after. The staff and the servers were amazing. They were all so nice and understanding of my little kid in tow. She is a very good restaurant baby, but it definitely helps when the staff acknowledge her (in a nice way). The food was delightful as well. The tuna cannoli had a nice crunch and pretty fresh (although you can't compare to omakase). The roasted chicken was actually pretty good, very moist. I liked the sunchoke that came with it. The oxtail trofie had great flavor, but it was really heavy, so we did not end up finishing it. The sphaghetti vongole also had great flavor, clams were fresh. The fries were on the thinner side, which everyone loved. They did a great job frying it. They also gave us some complementary bread because my daughter was starving and couldn't wait. (Thank you!) Definitely a nice restaurant, but also very $$.

I went to Little Maven on a weeknight for a girls night, it was the perfect spot for dinner and drinks. The place was decently crowded, so I would recommend getting a reservation. It was restaurant week though, so maybe they are not usually that busy. The whole table did the restaurant week menu, so I was able to sample a few dishes. One person was Gluten Free and they were very accommodating for GF versions of their menu! The real standouts for me were the appetizers and cocktails. For apps, especially liked the tuna tartare cannolis and the Caesar cups. We also had the shrimp scampi, and it was fine but not my personal favorite. For cocktails, the spicy cenote dreams drink was so good and the mezcal #5 was as well. For main I had the oxtail trofie pasta, which was fine but I would probably order something different if I came again. The dessert chocolate chip cookies with soft serve were really great. Overall, I had a great time and would love to come again.

Lovely restaurant near Union Square. Service was excellent and fast. The beets and spaghetti vongole were delicious. Would have loved a couple more mocktail options though.

Clam vongole and duck bolognese ravioli

Came for dinner and really enjoyed the food and service. The space is well designed and lively for dinner service, but was able to get a walk in table on a Friday. The black cod was really the star, I would definitely come back just for this dish. The pasta courses were both really good, but a slight dedication for the ravioli coming out lukewarm. Overall would definitely be back for dinner and drinks.

We've passed Little Maven so many times and always meant to try it. Last night we finally did for NYE. It was absolutely a great experience. From our wonderful server, Vanessa, to the outstanding food, we had a night to remember. We started with the Tuna Cannoli and the Caesar endive, both perfect for sharing and packed with layers of flavor. The scallops with caviar were rich and decadent, a little salty though. For entrées, we had the dry-aged duck and the steak frites, both incredibly tender. The portion of fries was extremely generous, more than enough to share. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't pass up the homemade cookies and ice cream for dessert. The restaurant itself has a lot of character with different seating areas and a back room. Highly recommend making a reservation.

Came here for a weeknight dinner. The vibe is cool and the service was friendly. We ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer and thought it was just fine. The highlight of the meal was the duck, which was cooked perfectly and so delicious! Highly recommend if that's on the menu. For dessert we had the soft serve with cookie and it was a cute dessert concept.

Really loved all the dishes we had. Flavorful, substantive, filling. The vibes were also very hip and moody, which was a great spot for a random Monday night hang with girlfriends. Definitely loved the tuna cannolis crispy crunchy feel, the shrimp scampi sauce was divine, the oxtail trofie is something I'll be coming back for, the sea bass was good but I wished we had more rice cakes. Also the salted chocolate chip cookies were incredible. Service was attentive with waiters cleaning after every course and clearing our plates. Drinks and food came quick too!

Food was good, just need some seasoning on pastas special on oxtail pasta, looks like this place is overpriced, excellent service, I will say ambiance was under my expectations.

I came here for dinner with a friend and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The space is cute and the service was good. I would return and try other things.

This was my first time finding a place based on zoning in on a location, which was USQ, on google map. I was surprised to see such good reviews. It was a definite plus that reservations were not hard to make. We were initially a party of four that went down to three the day of. The space was large with an area for private parties as well. It wasn't too loud so we were about to catch up. We decided to do the special where we each paid a certain amount for a few shared apps, 2 pastas, an entree and a dessert. I forget how much it was and now after looking at the menu, I don't see that option. I think it was 75 per person. We tried the whipped tahini, Caesar cups, tuna tartar cannolis, beef empanadas. We could not select the apps. They were all pretty good. If I could replace one of them, it would've been the empanadas. They were just nothing special. For the 2 pastas, we chose the vongole and the oxtail trofie, which were both excellent options. The entree was the steamed bass. I thought it was a little too different from the rest of the apps and the pastas so the meal tasted off. I think any of the four other options would have been better. Odd to go from pastas to a Thai inspired coconut curry fish dish. We finished with chocolate cookies with soft serve ice cream. The cookies were amazing with just enough salt. I would come back to have the dessert alone!

Osetra caviar tater tots - Sublime! - 4/11/2025

Little Maven brings a fun atmosphere while delivering delicious creative cuisine and playfully named cocktails in an upbeat welcoming stylish space. We began with the luscious cocktails named: Ruby Rosary (Amaretto, bourbon, lemon, blood orange) and Maven 7-5 (gin, lemon, lime, basil, champagne). Delightful. Our starters of sumptuous caviar Tater Tots and the sublime Salmon Carpaccio, were followed by entrées of perfectly seared Duck breast in mulled wine reduction, with marcona almonds, braised turnips, pears and radicchio. End with their gooey chocolate chip cookies and vanilla soft serve ice cream. Yummy! The lovely hostess and waitstaff served up an evening to remember. We will definitely return. Thank you for reading.

Although the food has a little too much cheese and salt, allowing this restaurant to slip to be only mid-tier, the music and ambience are wonderful.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious.
