I met a friend here for happy hour on a weekday, and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant was spacious and the marble bar was gorgeous. There's even a speakeasy lounge downstairs. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. It's been a minute since we'd dined out (life on the other side of having a kid has been DIFFERENT y'all) so we decided to go check Barlume out. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Upon arriving we were taken to our table right away. The restaurant looked slick, with fancy interior and a gorgeous big bar with sitting area in front. The menu had lots of exciting dishes. Among several starter dishes we got the spread sampler that had four different types of spread alongside some delicious bread. The crab meat and Brussels sprouts were excellent. For entree we got the Tomahawk and Branzino. Both were cooked so well, absolutely top class. Our server and all other staff members were pro, providing a sincere friendly dinner service. Did a sharing style dinner with Bronzino, tomahawk steak, grilled octopus, fried zucchini, bread with hummus and some desserts. I love all the dishes that we had. All executed well. Bronzino skin was crispy and with lemon drizzled over, it tasted excellent. Steak was soft and tender. Love the bread, warm and fluffy. Service was excellent. They were very attentive. Bringing out food, topping our drinks, giving extra utensils etc. Honestly very impressed with their service. Bathroom is unisex. Pretty clean. Cocktails could've been stronger but were solid. We shared: -whipped ricotta with flatbread: love the drizzle of honey! -blue crab toast: the bread was toasted perfectly and drizzled with amazing olive oil. We stopped by for an early dinner recently and were able to get a table inside. The restaurant is large and has a bar as well as another bar downstairs, plus outdoor seating. We ordered the Spanish inspired Octopus Catalana. It included pieces of grilled octopus, potatoes, tomatoes and olives. The dish was so light and really flavorful. I would be tempted to order it every time. The gnocchetti with seafood was also a great dish. The pasta tasted homemade and cooked perfectly. The busiate with duck ragu was a unique take on traditional ragu. I liked the curly pasta shape and it worked well with the sauce. I came here on a Tuesday and it was packed. Downstairs area was quiet and not full at all. What attracted me to this place was their happy hour which I didn't make it in time for. I had the whipped ricotta with pita - the pita bread itself was basic but the ricotta was rich and sweet from the honey drizzled on top of it. Oysters were good. Our cocktails were also pretty good - I got the rumor has it cocktail. For entree I got the harissa lambchops which were really good but slightly overpriced for the portion served. I came here for dinner on a Monday night. We were a half hour early for our reservation, but they were able to seat us right away. The restaurant has high ceilings and moody lighting. Would be great for date night. We came during NYC Restaurant Week so they were offering an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $45. To start, I had the braised artichokes. I was concerned the artichokes would be fibrous and tough to chew, but they were impressively tender, including the ends. The accompanying sauce was very light, with a subtle lemon flavor. I didn't care too much for the taralli crumbles, which were mushy and a bit artificial tasting. My friend enjoyed the jamon croquetas. For my main, I had the campanelle pasta and was very satisfied. The pasta was al dente and coated with a generous amount of parmesan and pine nuts. The chilies on top offered pleasant heat. I added some additional red chili flakes for additional spice, and it was perfect. For dessert, I had the tiramisu. It was creamy, but the espresso flavor was a bit overpowering. This is a solid restaurant. We went for brunch. I had the eggplant pasta which was very good! My friend had a salad with chicken. We didn't have any drinks but they looked fun. They actually have a speakeasy bar in the basement I'd love to try one day. The staff was very attentive, much more than I would expect at a a mid priced restaurant such as this one. The bathrooms require the use of stairs to access them. Unsure if there's an elevator if you cannot do stairs. I'd go back to try some of their Mediterranean spreads. I had one of the best dining experiences in my many years in New York City at Barlume. The quality and creativity of the food were exceptional. We had the blue crab toast, the charred red pepper and walnut spread, the perfectly executed busiate pasta, and the grilled minute steak topped with a poached egg, each dish thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The cocktails were just as impressive, the Neon Lights was crips and refreshing, and the Monte Carlo Old Fashioned was delicious and a perfect winter drink. The orange zest in the duck ragu had great flavor and my husband really enjoyed the gnochetti. We had the fava bean hummus and whipped ricotta spreads to start and while they were both very tasty, they felt too small for the price point. It also would've been nice to have received some sort of gesture for our special occasion but will chalk this up to a busy night. I came in on a Saturday night as a solo diner so just grabbed a seat at the bar planning to have a nice dinner and cocktail to end my day. The bar is long and I was seated a little further down from the bartender but people working in the kitchen and bar were in my area. I sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me and I'm the one who had to ask for menus. I know it was a Saturday but it wasn't so busy that someone couldn't have been able to acknowledge my existence and provide me with menus before I had to ask. I ordered the Good Vibrations cocktail and the duck ragu pasta. They came out quick and both were ok but I've definitely had better elsewhere. Overall my experience was fine but I probably won't be coming back. I'm not even close to a high maintenance diner but I at least expect to be acknowledged and checked in on at the bare minimum. read more

Best brunch I've had in nyc in a while, the dip platter is phenomenal and so is the bar lume spritz, the gazpacho and crab toast and wagyu carpaccio were my favorite. The pancake was gorgeous and delicious. The waitstaff is so attentive and kind and helpful and checked up on us super frequently and made sure we had everything we needed.
