Gorgeous lounge style restaurant that has an invite-only members club energy. The food and service could use improvement, but the venue itself is stunning.

Fresh bread with whipped ricotta

First, the place is stunning. The hostess took us to the 3rd floor via the elevator. Which had a seating area while you took the ride up. The area where we sat was nice. The waiter stayed in the area and waited on us with attention. I orderedfresh bread with whipped ricotta and the halibut which came with farro. The tomatoes on the whipped ricotta stole the show with that delicious smoky taste. I devoured them. The halibut was fresh and perfectly cooled and the farro dense and flavorful. This place is definitely worth going if you don't want to be disappointed. Enjoy!

Underwhelming. I wanted to love this meal - but it was not a great experience. The food was not bad but it was very generic and basic with nothing special. The service was incredibly slow and we had to borderline beg for water. Our food took over an hour to come out. The seafood tower was good and the skewers were as well but again they were nothing special and did not justify the price whatsoever. We left hungry. The only reason I am giving this place more than one star is the incredible ambiance. Maybe a great spot for drinks but don't waste your money otherwise.

I had high expectations for this new NYC hotspot and Casa Cruz delivered. Once you walk in you are wowed by the amazing decor of this converted 6 story townhouse mansion. It may sound weird, but you have to check out one of the best designed bathrooms I have ever been in. Food was beyond expectations. Hands down the Best octopus, expertly prepared very tender and flavorful sauce. I had my favourite entree, Beef Wellington. Once again outstanding preparation. Excellent cocktails and I enjoyed my French Blonde. Service was on point! Professional 5 star servers were knowledgeable and sublimely attentive.

Lamb was a bit too rare and was gummy. Best items were the lobster ravioli, fries, and chocolate soufflé. Short rib agnolotti was alright but could have had a thinner wrap.

I enjoyed the drinks more than the food but the restaurant was beautiful. great location for a date night.

Not sure why this place has such a low rating I had such a wonderful night there. The decor is gorgeous, the service was spectacular and the food was so delicious. We started with the focaccia with whipped ricotta and caviar cones afterwards we had the salmon which was served with a beautiful rhubarb citrus salad, the carrot tajine and the wild mushrooms, i had a glass of rioja and my mom had a spicy mezcal cocktail, we ended the night with a sumptuous chocolate souffle and a pot of chamomile tea. In total our meal with tax and 25% tip came out to $277. Not sure why everyone is saying this place is extremely pricey, i have paid way more for way less in the past. I'd definitely go again, I hope people continue to support this establishment, it is unique and overall a great time :)

We made a reservation for Saturday at 7:15 PM and arrived at 7. They seated us immediately, and the service upon entry was impeccable. There's a coat check, followed by an elevator ride to your designated floor--ours was the main dining room. The restaurant's layout was unique. When we arrived, only one other couple was there, but as the night went on, it became more crowded. The tables are quite close together, which can feel uncomfortable when others are seated next to you. For food, we ordered the lamb chops, octopus, salmon, tots, and smashed potatoes. Everything was good, but the side dishes should at least be larger portions. After dinner, we visited the downstairs bar. It had a nice atmosphere, but the small rooms made the vibes feel disconnected. Overall, it was a nice experience, but nothing particularly special.

The bar on the 2nd floor.

The restaurant was absolutely STUNNING. It felt warm and sexy as soon as you walked in. There wasn't a single thing we ordered that wasn't an absolute 10/10. Went for my birthday and they did an amazing job.

Delicious food every time. I love the cocktails and the fact that there's two separate dining rooms with two different moods. They have a fun little view too. Would definitely recommend!

Made reservations for Christmas Eve to bring in the holiday with a group of friends. The ambiance is beautiful. Who doesn't want to be in beautifully lit Manhattan townhome on Christmas Eve. The staff looked wonderful in their uniforms and their smiles were welcoming. We were seated in the upstairs dining area near a warm fire and delivered drinks that we ordered on a lower level. Unfortunately, we weren't delivered enough menus for the table, had to request water be delivered over, and had the wrong drinks brought out. All things were easily remedied but considering the rather lite number of restaurant goers during our dinner, we weren't sure as to why such mistakes were being made. We ordered Christmas stuffing which did contain pork but it wasn't mentioned in the list of ingredients, wagu beef tartare, fois gras, risotto with gambas Rojas, truffled pumpkin ravioli, braised goose, halibut, and Atlantic cod. The food was delicious but the goose was tough and chewy. We were told at 11:50 that we should order our last round because they'd be closing soon. We asked the waitstaff what was the closing time because the website stated that it was open until 2am. A gentleman with a floor length fur coat came over to the table and stated to one of my guest "brother it's Christmas and people wanted to go home." Which we understand but the restaurant was chosen because of the closing time. I wish that would have been updated on the website. I would suggest this restaurant. I believed everyone should experience an esthetically beautiful atmosphere and dinner or maybe just a few drinks and appetizers before heading out somewhere else for dinner.

Great party spot. Multifloor venue in UES with very professional staff. Good choices of appetizers going around. The drink options are more limited, but fair. Fun get together spot overall.

We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It's $25 for unlimited drinks plus food by the way. Which is sad is a deal these days. Anyway, their happy hour is solid enough for a Monday and was meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in over a year. Place is actually very cute. There are no tvs which I appreciate and the paneling of the walls and decor with all the flowers is quite tasteful. Happy hour deals 4-7pm Mon-Fri & all night Thursday apparently: Aperol Spritz $8, Hugo Spritz $9, Paloma $10, Mules $9, Draft Beers (except Guinness) $7, House Wine $9. As well as 2 Appetizer Bites for $19.95. Not the best but not the worst. I'm normally not a Spritz kind of gal. I think watering down prosecco or wine is heinous. But it was a Monday and I didn't exactly feel like powering down into happy hour so Aperol Spritz it was which switched to a Modelo later. It was the perfect drink situation on a god awful hot as hell day. We also ordered the fish tacos and what initially were the curry fries but they brought out the Greek fries. I wasn't mad about it. Honestly was torn between the two and I don't send food back unless something really bad happened. But it was essentially a side of Caesar salad dressing with feta cheese and generous amount of herbs on a very sparse and frugal amount of crispy standard cut fries. Now I know why it's a 2 for $20 deal. The tacos were 3 in an order which I guess is typical. They weren't bad but nothing stood out to me. I'd come for the drinks or try something else on the menu.

I'm here for it and couldn't believe my Vegan friend would ever get a chance to get close to the classic NY Jewish Deli experience in a vegan context. To be clear- they still serve up the real stuff too- but I just need to put it out there how rare and kind of amazing this is for an OG spot like Sarge's. It's been 9 years since my last review here and- wow, we've come full circle. Also- congrats to making it through and out the other side of the pandemic- many businesses did not, but it's nice to see an institution like Sarge's survive a serious hit like that, it means the community cares too. What's still good- OG 1960's-70's diner vibes and booths- a place your grands can feel at home, but very well maintained and clean. If you can get that pastrami without navigating a queue organized like an airport security checkpoint, all the better. Welcome to Sarge's Delicatessen. Founded at 548 Third Avenue in 1964, Sarge's was opened by Abe Katz, a retired NYPD sergeant who decided feeding Midtown was preferable to actual retirement. Facing the obvious naming dilemma presented by a certain famous delicatessen on Houston Street, he smartly opted to name the business after his police rank rather than his surname. Over six decades later, the vinyl booths, wood-paneled walls, and classic diner atmosphere remain intact. My family and I stopped in for dinner around 6:00 PM on a Friday. The place was surprisingly uncrowded, and we were seated immediately without the typical Manhattan routine of checking in with three hosts and standing on the sidewalk until your appetite dies. Service was prompt, friendly, and completely devoid of drama. As for the food, we ordered enough to conduct a proper survey of the menu. I had a pastrami Reuben, while my wife ordered the beef barley soup and a half pastrami sandwich. Our oldest son chose the matzo ball soup and a half salami, while our youngest went with a hot dog. We added fries for the table, along with a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda and a classic chocolate egg cream. Everything was outstanding. The matzo ball soup was deeply comforting, the hot dog had a proper snap, and the fries vanished with impressive efficiency. Even the house pickles and coleslaw tasted fresh and intentional, rather than serving as decorative plate filler. Then there is the pastrami itself. Saying this in print can cause traditionalists to question your judgment, but I believe Sarge's pastrami is better than Katz's. Quite a bit so. Katz's has the international fame, the endless lines, and a chaotic ticket system that feels like a live-action hunger game where everyone is competing for cured meat. Sarge's pastrami, cured in-house, is sliced thin, carries a better ratio of fat to lean, and delivers a richer spice profile in every bite. You get elite pastrami without the surrounding circus. Sarge's offers extraordinary food, comfortable booths, and an authentic 1960s atmosphere. If someone tells you that you have to stand in line on Houston Street to get the best pastrami in New York, smile politely, thank them for the advice, and head to Murray Hill instead.
