    Smoked Salmon Pizza

Barbuto in most cities in America would be great - and it has a great location in NYC and is a beautiful space - but the food just doesn't live up to the hype. Nothing is bad, but nothing is amazing. It is fine italian food with good vibes. At the prices presented to you you would hope for more - and you can get more not far. With Don Angie, Crane Club, I Sodi and others so close, Barbuto is not showing as a winner. Now, if you have a kid or want space while you eat and need a reservation when everything else is booked up, Barbuto does that for you with kind service, that's mostly fast. I'll be back, but more because it's a West Village institution that people enjoy meeting at rather than a culinary experience. If you do come make sure to try the Kale Salad and the meatball, both very good. The Past dishes were all lackluster in my opinion, and the smoked salmon pizza was good, the Hannah pizza was ehh.

That eight year wait for the JW Chicken Al Forno was absolutely worth it. Great service, great food and great company.

I really liked the atmosphere here and great service and he was a bit standard Italian little pricey. The meatball app was good too, but only one meatball even though it was big for $28...tried their classic chicken dish which was good but I prefer my chicken a little better cooked. Not something I would probably re-order though the potatoes were delicious as was the pasta with pepper corns. Definitely above average

This restaurant really surprised me. I've been to many restaurants in the city and have don't often see a space this large and with this much open space. While normal for long islanders and other non city people, the beautifully decorated area was a welcome sight after spending all day in an office. The food delivered as well. I ordered the duck option and confidently say it is some of the best duck I have had. The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the skin almost had this crispiness to it that was delectable. The side order of potatoes is well worth it, served in a unique extra crunchy manner. Service was the only non perfect thing about this place. While not necessarily bad I wouldn't say we had a great experience either. Waters and drinks were left empty for a while with no one asking and food took a long time to come out. Overall it's enough for me to knock down a star but I still really enjoyed Barbuto and would go back.

Omg this might be one of my fav restaurant experiences I've had this year. Food was amazing, service was great, and the ambiance!!!!!!!! The slight breeze from the Hudson River, the light and airy seating area, the rustic chic ambiance-- chefs kiss. - Kale salad: 1000000000/10 (best salad I've eaten this year periodt) - Pizza: 100/10 (ok wasn't really expecting the pizza to be amazing but... truly amazing. Sad it was so small though) - Chicken: 100/10 (omg truly the juiciest and best cooked chicken I've had in a whileeee. Chicken is not dry at all and the herbs are really seeped into the chicken, making it super flavorful) - Gnocchi: 7/10 (honestly kinda underwhelmed. Wasn't too sure if the green bean(?) worked well with the gnocchi) - Limoncello sprit: 8/10 (refreshing and perf for the summer) I already recommended Barbuto to like ALL my friends. This might be my go to restaurant for a nice summer night.

Chicken - incredible. Salsa verde amazing. I don't typically love squash but the kubota squash was unreal with a sort of lebneh ricotta type cheese.

Finding the threads of beauty in New York City can be the stuff of adventure -- Barbuto answered the call this night. Having just shaved my beard, I relished the irony of seeking this place out. The contrast of of the dimly lit warehouse-y feel after strolling through the neighborhood-y West Village would have been jarring were I not immediately seated at a candlelit table with a breathtaking view of the Hudson. That's when I told the waiter that I wanted to go "full Waxman." (well half Waxman). Waxman's kale salad was tempting but the calamari and shrimp salad were calling me. A mix of texture -- crunchy greens, threads of soft cheese and perfectly fried shellfish made the salad a delight. Then came the chicken -- the saltiness of the salsa verde hit me like a pesto in a good way and was a wondeful complement to the crispy skin and juicy chicken. I usually never order chicken in restaurants but the medley was worth it. Service was on par - not pushy but very attentive. Memorable night. Thanks Barbuto team!

I could not recommend the Chef's Table experience at Barbuto more. I'm a bit of a picky eater, so normally I'm a bit nervous about family style tasting menus where I don't get to select what I'm eating. They brought us out SO many things and I was obsessed with each and every single dish. That literally never happens for me. The tasting menu seems a bit pricey ($100 per person) but when you consider where you are and the huge amount of food you receive it's absolutely worth the price. The meal starts out with an appetizer course, which could really be an entire meal in itself. Meatballs, pesto pizza, olives and focaccia and some delicious salads like kale cesar and radicchio with mushrooms. For mains we were served bucatini amatriciana, gnocchi, roasted cauliflower, crispy parm potatoes, sweet potatoes, frittata and an herb roasted chicken. Everything was 10 out of 10, but my highlight dishes were pastas and the salads. On top of it all, ALLL of this food was per four guests. So for our. party of eight we had duplicates of every single dish. It's an insane amount of food in the best way possible. Service is on point and they kept our red wine flowing all night long. The meal ended with the most delicious pumpkin roll which paired perfectly with an espresso martini. For a special occasion holiday lunch this is the perfect pick. There are so many restaurants around (and of course, Barbuto has their regular menu) but the Chef's Table experience was elevated and an amazing way to treat yourself and indulge. Just note that for the experience you'll need a minimum of 7 guests!

This restaurant always delivers consistently great food whenever I'm In NYC. My client and I dined like royalty on a perfect summer evening on Horatio Street. The only constructive suggestion (after having just read Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara ) is that it wouldn't kill the Barbuto staff to pay attention when patrons frequent your establishment from Dallas on the regular with clients / the restaurant was not busy and no management stopped by to see how our dinner was & the server had zero personality - which was disappointing as the staff brings the dining experience to life in my opinion.

While the place had outdoor seating, it was a bit too warm on that day to really enjoy it, so I grabbed us a table inside instead. The restaurant was very dark with only candlelight to illuminate the menu. The acoustics were also not amazing, as the room was extremely loud. However, aside from that, the space had a really hip, seductive vibe. It was also no longer BYO and now offered all sorts of unusual wines, craft beers, and intriguing cocktails. Like on my last visit, we were blessed with a really professional, friendly server. He was a complete delight and indulged my request to try tastes of both the prosecco and Grüner Veltliner before committing to one or the other. Though both wines were complex and delicious, I selected the crisp Casa Coste Piane "Col Fondo" Prosecco from Veneto, Italy. My friend and I decided to share two pasta dishes. The Cavatelli was served with a Moroccan-spiced lamb ragu and topped with sprinkles of sheep's cheese from nearby Nettle Meadow Farm. I was told to mix the cheese into the rest of the ingredients, which were warm and allowed it to melt into a gooey delight. The lamb sauce was so multi-dimensional and really paired well with the funky cheese. It was a delicious plate. We also shared the Triangoli alla Trapanese, which was essentially triangular shaped ravioli that were stuffed with goat cheese. The delicate dumplings were then plated with fresh black mission figs and drizzled with tangy Villa Manodori balsamic vinegar. It was such an unique pasta creation that was truly another winner. Though I sampled less items than on my last trip to Flour, I loved every moment of my experience. From the cool crowd and buzzing atmosphere to the modern Italian food and new beverage list, the restaurant was a real gem.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

The food was excellent! The menu has so many options for different tastes and palettes. It also seems like they rotate dishes depending on the season which is pretty impressive. Both times we split the beet salad and their cacio e pepe as an appetizer. The cacio e pepe was one of the tastiest I've ever had. The fact that they used mezze rigatoni instead of angel hair is a nice touch. I prefer rigatoni anyway, and it gave the pasta that extra something-something, plus the ridges helped soak up all that sauce. It had just the right amount of peppery bite too. I also opted for the hangar steak - holy moly! Tender, cooked just right, and the fried potatoes were to die for. Both times, the servers was extremely attentive. Also, the place itself is small but cute. I like that there are different sections to sit in - at the bar, towards Bloomfield, in the back with all the windows. My steak was cooked perfectly to medium-rare, was well-seasoned, and was taken up an extra notch by the delicious peppercorn sauce. The branzino was also a big hit with both people who ordered it. They praised the dish at length, and one person kept going back for more bites even after announcing she was stuffed! The second course was halibut with risotto and crab and there was so much meatiness. It was my favorite place and the flavors went so well together. Next was grilled oysters and I've never liked oysters but these were amazing! The bacon and breadcrumbs that had a slight lemon flavor went so well with the oysters. Next was lamb loin with stewed white beans and carrots. The lamb was medium rare, I could have skipped the beans but that's me. There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. He gave excellent recommendations and when there was a song playing that I couldn't Shazam, he wrote the name of it down for me! My cocktail, Frequent Flyer, was 10/10 and the perfect mix of sweet and tart. Someone could easily order those all night long since it was masterfully crafted and wasn't overpowered with alcohol. For starters, I ordered the Ceviche sushi roll. It had all of the flavors of Peruvian-style ceviche and had a lovely presentation. My entree of skirt steak with polenta fries was seamlessly executed. I ordered the steak medium-rare and it had the right amount of char with the meat being very tender. The chimichurri sauce was a really nice accompaniment. Although I was full, I was able to muster up some room for dessert and had the bourbon apple bread pudding. It was really lovely and the perfect way to end an amazing meal.
