By definition, food fusion has a complex history whose origins can't be easily pinpointed, which pretty much dilutes traditional cuisine. At its core, it's a blend of ingredients, techniques, and flavors from different cultures and culinary traditions that creates something entirely new. They are popping up all over the culinary world, including on restaurant menus. Open since June 2022, this establishment has quickly become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, located on First Street in Hoboken for brunch. The reservation was easily made via Resy. Inspired by his owner's Irish roots, Dear Maud invokes the Irish poet W. B. Yeats, being a contemporary American with subtle hints of Irish and Asian cuisine. Upon arrival as first-timers outside of the Washington Avenue establishments, my partner, Yelp friend Robert G, and I were greeted by the host, who led us to an earth-toned leather booth in back of the bar between the two cozy and casual dining areas with various shades of sage green everywhere one looks. Their menu offered brunch with a full bar capability for handcrafted cocktails. We decided on the Breakfast Burrito, Steak & eggs, and Avocado Toast. Every dish was executed flawlessly and was beyond delicious using the freshest ingredients. The price was very reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience thanks to our server, Shane from Sligo. From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. We can recommend it.

Warning: 3 guests during the dinner was poisoned from the food--myself included. 2 of us got sick during the meal/expelled at the restaurant, last person was on the toilet in the evening!! Upon reporting it to the manager, he was very very kind and followed up with me during/after the meal. Could not confirm what caused it but think that the team did well to ensure comfort/follow-up. Ambiance (3/5): The décor is super trendy and the establishment is huge! While the place is great for bigger groups, the music way way too loud to even converse with the people sitting next to you. There's an area near the bar to hangout and drink. It feels really cool inside. Dark and almost clubby. Service (5/5): Our server gave us good recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. Cocktails during happy hour is unbelievable $9 until 7p - I was a fan of their mango passion fruit! And they're all pretty alcoholic! Love Food (4/5) Crispy rice and spicy tuna - my favorite of the apps! Spicy sausage flatbread - nothing to write home about Short rib bao bun - I enjoyed this! Chicken bao - I enjoyed this! Tostadas - skippable Hummus - skippable Short rib fried rice - a little too salty but otherwise good Steak sandwich - Nicely flavored

We made a reservation for 12:30 in hopes to get their brunch menu. That wasn't the case, though we enjoyed everything we ordered. The service was fast and the decor was very relaxing and comfortable.

I've been here a few times for brunch and it's becoming a favorite of mine in Hoboken. Love their two for one brunch cocktails. Their French fries are amazing, but I've been disappointed by their shareables (French toast sticks, biscuits). Very underwhelming for the price. It is beautifully decorated for the holiday season!

Heard so many great things about this place and I finally got around to trying it and unfortunately it did not meet my high expectations The ambiance is cute and the service is exceptional but the food sucks I ordered bucatini and streak frites and it was subpar at best. The sauce for the bucatini tasted like spaghetti o's. The short rib saved it. The fries for the steak frites were really good, crispy but the steak was so bad. Ordered medium rare and they gave me well done. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was good but the rice was soggy. But probably the best thing I ordered Drinks were decent

I have been here a few times but have now been for brunch and dinner. The appetizer menu, in my opinion, is the best. We have tried the brussels sprouts every single time and have never been disappointed. Espresso martinis have a little orange in it which set them apart from others in Hoboken. Service is very attentive but weren't able to answer our questions about the menu. Only complaint is how loud and dark it is, but I think I might just be getting old! Try to sit in the section with skylights for brunch or at all possible.

While staying in Jersey for NYFW2025 this fall I ventured into Hoboken for some good eats! After doing a little research this place popped up on my radar and quickly sparked my interest with their menu offerings. Right upon entry, it did not disappoint. The ambience is warm, cozy and very earthy with tons of lush greenery. Modestly upscale for sure. I sat at the bar being alone, and was quickly greeted by the bartender. I ordered a couple cocktails which were smooth and refreshing. It was a late night so for food I just got a traditional margarita pizza, it was just as delicious as the pizzas served in Italy - very authentic! Highly recommend if you're in the area and can't wait to try this place again for a bigger meal with friends!

I went with bestie from work to celebrate Valentine's Day We had some much fun, the server was amazing since the start. The food we had was so good, I'll definitely come back to try the other things from the menu. The vibes were up!!! After we finished our food we move to the bar to finish our drinks and everyone from the staff was accommodating and very nice.

I went to Dear Maud for Sunday brunch! I had a 10:15 AM reservation and it was pretty empty inside which was nice and quiet. We were seated right away and the staff were very warm and sweet. I ordered Eggs Any Style with hash browns and sausage. I got my eggs over easy, and they definitely were well done, but it was still delicious so no complaints on my end. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was delicious. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time. I've only ever been to Dear Maud one other time; it was a Friday night and I didn't end up staying because it was very crowded with no remaining seats. It's super popular, and I understand why! The drinks are great, the service is wonderful, and above all, the atmosphere is the cutest. I look forward to returning one evening soon for dinner or happy hour!

We thought mini golf was interactive, everyone had the same chance to play and it's simple enough without exerting too much energy (unlike an escape room or the dancing tiles which I also came across in my research). Great place for friends, families, dates of all ages. We checked in on the ground floor (also have a coat check here) and were told they have a cabin themed course on the 2nd floor and a museum themed course on the 3rd floor, but there was a party going on. They also told us about the rooftop lounge, which is covered with plastic and they have heaters blasting the space. We went with the cabin themed. Although I don't think they completely blocked the 3rd floor with the party, we just didn't want to have to compete with others and wanted a quiet experience. They have stairs or an elevator. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we were the only ones there and were explained how the digital scoring works. We inputted our names, and our scoreboard would follow us from board to board in sequence after we all punched in our scores. The max was 6 putts per course to help keep things moving (we definitely played more than 6 on some courses lol). The courses did progressively get more challenging as you moved on. The decor was beautiful. Fairy lights lined the space with murals or a ski lodge/mountains around with a polar bear and a ski mobile. Many cute photo ops. On the last course, once you made it, the game swallowed your ball, I guess to help prevent you from trying to play the course again. I wish there was more than 9 courses though. It was fun enough but maybe having a few more would have helped fill the time more. Time flew by and we had lots of laughs. Would be excited to come back to try the museum course next time.

I booked a social package that included 90 minutes of reserved seating, one round of mini golf, and a $25 food or drink voucher per person. When we arrived, we were given tickets for mini golf, but the staff seemed unsure about how the food and drink vouchers worked. After some back-and-forth, we learned the vouchers could only be used on the second floor, and if used for drinks, there was only one option available -- a blue rum drink with coconut. Unfortunately, the drink missed the mark for me and my friends, and the recipe could definitely use some improvement. We were also never shown where our reserved seating was, which was disappointing. That said, I had an amazing group of friends, and we still made the night a lot of fun. We played the Lodge course on the second floor, which is their most challenging course and beautifully decorated. I also loved the tablet that kept score for us -- it was a great touch. The rooftop area is another highlight: it's heated and really enjoyable during the winter. Overall, while the atmosphere and mini golf were fun, I wouldn't book a party package again -- it wasn't worth the cost. Next time, I'd just pay for mini golf directly.

I ended the meal with the café cocktail which I normally wouldn't order without milk... but this one? Sweet, delicious, and totally didn't need it. It was so good! Now the DJ... not jazz, not chill vibes, not whatever TikTok led me to expect. Nope. Full-on techno/trip hop/drum & bass mashup that was so loud I had to yell at my husband across the table, "HOW'S YOUR BURGER?!" And the bouncer out front - bless him, but communication skills = 0. He asked if we had a reservation, then gestured for IDs with his hands which my husband understood as whip out your reservation... after my husband is fumbling with his phone and showing the bouncer our reservation, the bouncer THEN clarified, and I felt like I was in some annoying game of charades. As an older born and raised New Yorker, the tough guy bouncer act is TIRED! We've seen it. Move on. Other than that? Food amazing. Service with our waitresses was amazing. And the decor was fire with the vinyls on the wall. Would I go back? Maybe. Especially if next time they swap the techno for some Japanese jazz so I can actually hear my husband without yelling.
