    Burro e parmigiano "Francescana"
    Candace C.

Roscioli is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I first went there a couple of times in Rome, and I was ecstatic when they announced an NYC location! The carbonara is a true wow moment for me, but all of the Roman classics are truly perfect. The ingredients are the highest quality, and the pasta is cooked al dente. The descriptions seem simple, but that's how it should be - it's all you need for flavor. On my latest visit, I also tried the Burro e parmigiano "Francescana" from the Modern Classics side of the pasta menu. Seemingly so simple, and so delicious. For a table of 4, we also got the prosciutto and focaccia, the burrata topped with semi-dried tomatoes, the scarola alla napoletana and the secreto ibérico de bellota (a standout for sure!I've rarely had pork so tender and packed with flavor). We finished with a tiramisu, which was especially creamy and one of the best I've had. Roscioli sources ingredients selectively, and I believe that we are getting the best they can find. The food is so delicious, it really speaks for itself! Everything tastes fresh and delicious. There is a purpose for every ingredient on the plate. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and they make the most of the space. The tables are close together, and it can get loud when it's packed. Service is attentive but not speedy, so I recommend going if you don't have a tight time constraint. I've never been seated before my reservation time - arrived early twice and never again. It's a worthwhile treat meal. Our bill for 4 people with all of the above and 1 espresso, no other drinks, ended up at about $75 per person including tax and tip. If you want to dine like you've teleported to Rome, go to Roscioli!

We tried the Roscioli in Rome and were so excited to see they had a location at home! Our favorite (at both locations) was the AMATRICIANA with the bites of guanciale. The service was impeccable and atmosphere upscale. Would love to come again!

Came here and dined solo last Sunday. I was able to make a reservation for 1 to sit at their counter seating. It's a great option as a solo diner. The service was great and the waiters were friendly. I got a glass of red wine and the carbonara. The pasta was super yummy and rich.

Mangia! Our favorite meal in Rome has quickly become our favorite meal in the City. So hot right now, Hansel-only counter seating for us. No worries there was more than enough space for our feast and they made the best use of it. We started with an excellent dealers choice cheese plate, caponata and bread basket. My wife had the Amatriciana she loves and I had what continues to be the very best Carbonara. Finished with Tiramisu and wondered when we can get back here again.

Food was great, but the delays in service left a bit to be desired. We made a reservation for the a la carte menu in the lower level bar seating area. We were seated promptly and service was friendly. First, our order of meatballs and artichokes came out quickly. Very tasty, but the star of the show was really the pasta here. Unfortunately, we waited at least 30 minutes after finishing our first two dishes before our pastas started coming out. The cacio e pepe and carbonara came out next. Their cacio e pepe was amazing. I'm normally not a fan of it but the flavors and simplicity blew my mind. The carbonara was solid. Unfortunately, after these two dishes we experienced another long wait before our agnolotti and amatriciana came out (which were both tasty as well!). The tiramisu was tasty but the cacio e pepe was still the highlight for me. Hopefully just a one off with the service delays but otherwise I would definitely return just for the cacio e pepe!

Came here on a Wednesday and it was fairly busy for the Roman Feast. If you're there for the tasting menu you head downstairs. The space is medium sized with a good amount of tables for 4. I sat with my friend at a booth. We tried the classic wine pairing with it and it def enhanced the experience. They also have an additional 2 dishes that are specials if you want to try additional seasonal items but the general tasting menu is a lot. Def come hungry! I felt like everything was prepared well. The pastas were perfect texture and the meat was very tender. My favorite of the night was Amatriciana Pasta! Overall, had a great experience with friendly staff. Would def come back again! It's a great way to share food in a large party for the holidays

They have a service called the Roman Feast which provides you with a four course meal (appetizers, mains and dessert). You can also add wine pairings to each dish. The concept is family style which is pretty unique for a prix fixe meal. They also add some additional dishes as a surprise which was fun! My favorite was the tiramisu which was so so good

This is a tiny restaurant and the max rsvp is 5 people. They have seating at the street level and then additional seats in the lower level for the prixe fixe. We sat literally next to the entrance. It was a very uncomfortable seating arrangement for 5 people. Luckily we were able to squeeze onto the bench since our 5th person was a kid. We ordered the Cheese Monger's choice board for $34. It had three different types of cheeses, four thin slices of two, and a little bit of a soft cheese. They were all pretty mild and crowd pleasing. No funky ones. It came with some honey, but no bread. We also ordered the sun-dried tomato burrata for $24. It came with NO bread. We had to order bread separately for $8. The bread was hard, stale and tasted like it was pre-cut for dinner service. Very disappointed with the amount of food and quality vs. cost. The cacio e pepe - it was gummy as other reviewers noted. It should be smooth and warm when served. It was cold. The amatriciana was not notable. We also ordered the fish (PESCE E FAGIOLI ZOLFINI), which was also not notable. The fish tasted it was thawed too quickly from a frozen slab. Tiramisu was standard. A little too much cream for me. Probably will not return.

Roscioli began in Rome in 1974 and still runs several beloved spots there. In 2023, it opened its first (and only) location outside Italy on MacDougal Street in Soho, NYC. We sat upstairs in the cozy à la carte room, which is small and intimate, with a little shop selling cheeses, olive oils, pastas, and merchandise to take home. (Downstairs offers a five-course set menu, The Roman Feast). We started with burrata with semi-dried tomatoes and fried artichokes, both apps great. The cacio e pepe and carbonara we split were al dente, peppery, and rich. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Simple Roman classics done just right.

The service was lacking. I waited probably 20mins for a server. I ordered everything at once. I didn't see her again until long after I finished. I ordered one drink and pasta. Frankly I didn't order dessert because I thought I would have been stranded even longer. So, she dropped the bill and never even came back to check me out. Someone else did when they saw my card out. Pretty sad experience since I was so excited to get a little taste of Rome. The food was stellar and it was cool watching t.he kitchen. But service was disappointing. I will say the restaurant was cute - felt very Italy.

Restaurant from Rome (they are on the @michelinguide over there) right here in NYC. The restaurant is really cute with the Italian pantry items (always lured me in). Our favorite ended up being the artichoke appetizer! Note that there are not many vegan or vegetarian options here!

Had such a great experience doing 'THE ROMAN FEAST' at Roscioli. Roman Feast: $95 (no beverage) + $55 (Standard wine pairing add-on) before tax and tip. This included five courses with five wine pairings. The food was absolutely amazing! Like most pre-fixe, you never think the portions they serve will be enough, but trust me when I say we left absolutely stuffed! If you see more than 5 courses it is also because they did throw in a few extra breads and cheeses. The experience was great too. Our waitress was so amicable and knowledgeable about the foods and wines that were being served. The place is cute. Upstairs seems a bit more casual but still elegant if that makes sense. Downstairs definitely has a more elegant feel to it. Will definitely come back and try their regular menu next time!

Had my birthday at Roscioli and did the Roman Feast with the wine pairing. Let me tell ya, they did not lie about the "feast" part There are only two other times in my life where I've been so painfully full. Everything was SO delicious too. Would definitely come again - probably the best priced multi-course menu in all of NYC

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.

It wasn't a busy‑restaurant kind of tone--it was just attitude. Not exactly the first impression you expect from a place that tries to present itself as polished. A quick, polite confirmation would've gone a long way, but instead it felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a restaurant with their reputation, having someone speak to guests like that over a simple call really doesn't help the image.
