Everything bagel, croutons, and cream cheese balls

Scoring a reservation at The Corner Store feels like winning a small lottery--exclusive, elusive, and nearly impossible to get into. Once inside, though, the space really delivers on that sense of privacy and intimacy. It's dimly lit, cozy without feeling cramped, and perfect for a low-key night that still feels special. The food itself was undeniably good. Each dish was well-executed, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. You can tell the kitchen knows what it's doing, and there were definitely moments that lived up to the buzz. That said, the overwhelming hype surrounding the restaurant ended up working against the experience. After all the anticipation and effort it takes just to get in, I found myself expecting something truly unforgettable. Instead, while the meal was very solid, it didn't quite reach the level the hype had built in my mind. Overall, it's a great spot with a unique, intimate vibe and strong food--but the near-mythical reputation sets expectations almost impossibly high.

5 STARS for the lobster rolls and the samoa Sundae! We tried multiple items on the menu since when are we going to get a Rez here again? But unfortunately other than those 2 items, I'm not sure what the hype is all about. Here's what we tried: - Lobster rolls: 5/5 definitely the best bite here - pizza rolls 4/5: very good - Fries with 3 dipping sauces: 2/5 expensive for very average fries - Caesar Salad: 3/5 I was excited to try this but didn't quite live up to the hype. The cream cheese balls were great but the everything bagel croutons were hard to chew and didn't pair well with the salad - Vegetarian chicken parm 3/5: just okay? The server told us you can't tell it's not chicken. I disagree - samoa sundae 5/5: delicious if you love coconut - apple pie dessert 1/5: the McDonald's one is better than this And if you like martinis then the sour cream and onion one and the espresso martini are very good!

The corner store is THAT place! It is incredibly hard to get in and there's a reason! The reservations are tight and you only get two hours at your table. The service here is amazing and they are on top of the time restrictions to make sure you get the most of your time. It's incredibly intimate here and the drinks are unique to say the least. I had to try the tomato martini and the sour cream and onion martini. I then learned I didn't like either, but I'm not a martini drinker! I tried them for science. And to get drunk! The food here is great. The pizza rolls give nostalgia and are way better than tostinos could ever try to be. The Caesar salad has the most unique everything bagel croutons and cream cheese cubes that paired everything together so well. The French fries are delicious and crispy, would highly recommend the horseradish sauce! The carrots were great. The ribeye was perfectly cooked to perfection! The tuna was great too. The star of the show was the lobster roll with caviar. Holy moly. I don't even love lobster and these were amazing. They are generous with the caviar. Keep in mind the lobster rolls are by the piece. I had two! Overall, an incredible experience if you can get the reservation! I'm so glad I tried it here and would totally come back if given the chance!!

I went in with low expectations since this place is all over social media, but The Corner Store genuinely exceeded them. A friend couldn't make her 5 PM reservation on Thursday, January 1st, so I ended up going in her stead taking one of the first seatings of the year. I ordered: - Wagyu French Dip - Five Cheese Pizza Rolls - The Corner Store Caesar - Classic Hand-Cut French Fries with "The Works" (secret sauce, avocado ranch, horseradish aioli) - Sour Cream & Onion Martini - Lobster & Caviar Roll They also had daily specials that weren't listed on the menu, though I didn't end up ordering any. The fries were actually excellent, perfectly salted and super crispy. The Works comes with three sauces. I didn't love the horseradish aioli since I'm not big on mustard flavors, but the other sauces were solid. The sour cream and onion martini was surprisingly good. The five cheese pizza rolls came with three instead of five, which threw me off at first, but they were delicious. Think Totino's pizza rolls, but elevated. The hot honey paired really well with the accompanying white sauce, and the rolls were ooey, gooey, and indulgent. The Caesar salad was much larger than I expected. The everything bagel croutons were great, though the cream cheese croquettes felt a bit extra for me. The real standout was the Wagyu French dip. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender and incredibly flavorful. I was so full I had to take some food to go. The lobster topped with caviar roll was good but a very small portion for $20 a piece. The ambiance is a huge part of the experience. The space has cozy, old-timey charm with vintage sconces and small classic paintings lining the walls. The staff is dressed impeccably and were all very polite and attentive. I'd absolutely go back, assuming I can snag another reservation.

I was soooooo excited to try the corner store, and it really did live up to the hype it receives! I got in line at 2:57. My friend and I were 5th and 6th in line. The manager came out an hour and a half later and said there was no bar seating tonight but they can put us on the waitlist. We got very lucky and received a text at 7pm that there was an opening! We headed over and were seated at the bar! Such a vibe! It really is a gorgeous place! Our bartender/waiter behind the bar was the best server I have ever had. He was from Chicago like us! He was incredible, very personable and explained everything very well! I got the filthy martini! This was amazing, the perfect amount of dirty. My friend and I split the lobster bites and the Caesar! Both were insane! And both I highly recommend! The lobster was perfection and the caesar had these cheese balls that were fantastic! The couple next to us gave us their honeydew desert to try and this was so cool! Since I was not expecting to be off the waitlist I ate before, but next time I really hope to come in and try the steak!

Went in with guarded expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe is really warm and welcoming, and although I've heard the food called "elevated Applebee's", if you just roll with the concept then you'll have a great time. American classics with extra flair and it all looks and tastes great. Fries with the set of sauces is fun, and you can't go wrong with the French dip. Caviar lobster rolls were the most forgettable, but they do look very cute. Despite not being crazy about salad or ice cream in general, my favorites were the Caesar salad (I'll yearn for cream cheese croquettes in every Caesar I eat from now on) and the delightfully nostalgic Samoa sundae. Get the martini service, really fun way for a group tipple. We went with their signature sour cream & onion martini - a must-try if you like that flavor (the GOAT Pringles variety, imo). Only hiccup was a 20 minute wait between our apps and entree courses, but otherwise a 4.5/5 experience.

I really wanted to like this place but it's just not for me. As one of Nyc's hardest reservations to get I expected so much more. This restaurant is designed and decorated beautifully. Very comfortable tables with dim lighting (I'm a sucker for a dimly lit restaurant), a welcoming very polite staff, the service was excellent to say the least. The Waiters know every single detail of the menu and offer great recommendations. Unfortunately everything I tired left me extremely disappointed, starting right off with the drinks. I was recommended the coconut Negroni being a house drink & my drink of choice is usually an old fashion I decided to give it a try. For me it was too bitter and lacked overall balance. Decided to try their version of the Caesar salad which was ok, the dressing had a strong presence of anchovy, the cheese filled croutons were ok but had a little too much cheese. The pizza rolls were not that great, tasted like any other ordinary pizza roll. It came accompanied by ranch and honey, which slightly enhanced them but still nothing to brag about. Then came the main courses, the wagyu French dip was bland & the Au Jus was a tad bit salty. The steak frites were just ok, seasoned ok, cooked to my exact liking (medium) & sitting in a slight pour of au poivre. The fries were good, salted & cooked to a perfect degree. The sauces were ok, the secret sauce tasted like Big Mac sauce, the avocado ranch I did not like (I am a big fan of avocado & ranch), the horseradish aioli was just ok. The apple pie hands were the best part of the meal. Accompanied by a vanilla bean ice cream that had. A slight drizzle of dulce de leche and served warm were delicious. I opted to not go for the Samoa sundae as I'm not a fan of coconut. Overall my experience was highly disappointing. The food was extremely bland & overpriced. Would I go again? No but I can now say I once visited the famous corner store.

I really wanted to love The Corner Store, but I honestly don't get the hype--or the long line for no reservations. Heads up: don't try to grab a seat at the bar when you walk in. Those are reserved or given to folks waiting outside, so I just hung out until my friends arrived. Atmosphere: The space is beautiful and definitely has that "see and be seen" SoHo vibe, but nothing about the ambiance blew me away compared to other NYC hotspots. Food: We started with the spinach artichoke dip (good, but I've had better) and the lobster salad with caviar, which was fresh and tasty) my favorite app)--the caviar gave it a nice salty kick. The five cheese pizza rolls were also a hit at our table. I was really looking forward to The Corner Store Caesar with everything bagel croutons (I'm obsessed with the salmon Caesar at 4 Charles), but this one was just okay. The wagyu French dip was a letdown--the meat was too chewy for my taste. Honestly, the French dip at Monkey Bar and 4 Charles is far superior (and I always take one to go from those spots because it reheats so well). The steak was the highlight--cooked perfectly and super flavorful. For dessert, don't skip the apple hand pies! Warm, flaky, and not too sweet.

I've been here for dinner three times now and I've had an excellent experience every time. Honestly, for all the hype, the food doesn't need to be as good as it is and people would still keep coming, but what sets it apart is the excellent service, the ambience and the fact the food delivers. The pizza roll and lobster roll appetizers are excellent. The oysters have always been fresh. We usually like to share the prime rib. sandwich as an appetizer. And then their steaks and fishes have all been quite good. Don't forget to order fries and get all the sauces on the side. It's also really fun to share a martini service amongst the table - the sour cream and onion one and the tomato are my favorites. I don't even like gin and the sour cream martini is probably one of the tasty that I've had.

Honestly this was one of the best restaurants I've had in nyc even as a vegetarian. There were so many options in the apps, entree, and desserts. I loved the spinach artichoke dip, the caesar salad was easily one of the best salads I've ever had with the unique croutons, and the vegan chicken parm was fantastic. The dessert was the cherry on top for this meal, both items we got were phenomenal. Also, service was great as we got to dine in and sit at a booth

We've been a few times now and this was hands down our best visit. The vibe at The Corner Store just works. It feels buzzy without being chaotic, polished without trying too hard. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately think, "Yep, we're in good hands." Service delivers on that expectation. Now to the important part. Hamachi Crudo was a killer start. Super fresh, perfectly balanced, gone in about 90 seconds. Lobster Caviar Rolls felt like something you order thinking "this better be good" and then immediately realize it absolutely is. Rich but not heavy. Luxurious without being over the top. Caesar Salad was classic and executed exactly how you want it. Sometimes you just need a Caesar to be great. This was great. Pizza Rolls were a sleeper hit. Sound simple. Not simple. Order them. Steak Frites was cooked perfectly and came with fries that somehow stayed crispy the entire meal. That never happens. Wagyu French Dip was ridiculous in the best way. Juicy, flavorful, and the kind of sandwich you stop talking mid sentence for. Mashed Potatoes deserve their own sentence. Creamy, borderline dangerous. We were fully stuffed but still found room for Apple Hand Pies because apparently we have no self control. Worth it. Drinks: The Sour Cream and Onion Martini is as wild as it sounds and somehow totally works. Captain Crunch Cocktail was fun, nostalgic, and dangerously easy to drink. We loved everything. Not a single miss. Conclusion: Go hungry. Bring friends. Order too much. You won't regret it.

This restaurant is next level. The ambiance and service is top notch. The service especially is what puts its at the top. From there, you know the food is going to be amazing. We tried the pizza rolls and Cesar salad for starters. Amazing. Then we got the wagyu porter house and the French dip sandwich. Both were great but the French dip stood out as the best. Definitely a must try spot.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. We walked in Wednesday 8:30 PM and they had a couple of high chair seats at a side bar in the parlor room available. Really fun decorations and ambiance.

If you're looking for one of the best Irish pubs in Lower Manhattan, The Dead Rabbit absolutely…read morelives up to the hype. Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

Serious attitude here. The cocktails were very tasty but the service and vibe were so off-putting,…read moreI will never go back. I made a reservation in person more than 24 hours in advance. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
