A spot to get together with friends for small bites and wine on your summer evenings. Vibe: 10/10 this place absolutely crushes the ambiance. Good soft music, excellent crowd, and at sunset the area looks beautiful. People watching a huge bonus. Food/Drinks: 7/10. Not anything super special and food is a bit pricier than one would like but the charcuterie and fromage were very solid as bites during our experience. I appreciated the fruits with the cheese or pepperoncini with the meats. Not an extensive list of wines, but the curated selection has something for everyone. Skin contact wines seem to be the preferred choice. Service: 8/10. With a crowd this big it's hard to master service at the right intervals. However, they have been great at pouring wine, refilling water, replacing cutlery as needed when they do show up. Overall: 8.3/10, would come again! read more

Le Dive - Charcuterie plate and rosé - Bars Near Me - New York, New York

Who doesn't love a nice ironically placed French article in front of an English word - as if to convey that the offerings here are simultaneously high-brow and low-brow? Notwithstanding such commentary, the bar had the perfect amount of crowding on a Thursday evening. My gin cocktail and the ricotta plate were both very good, and I would definitely return to try a larger plate. read more

Went here for lunch with my friend and we were both pretty excited to try their food. But we left deeply disappointed by both service and food. Mussels were served cold, tasted like it's been left on the counter the entire morning. And the fact that our mussels came out at the same time with our omelette just proved that they were not made to order. Nonetheless, we tried the mussels. We had one piece each and it didn't taste fresh nor had the slightest warmth to them. We left it on our table and did not touch it again. And our server, never asked us how our order is or why we had left an entire entree untouched. Not even after we paid. Not to mention the fact that we had another dish forgotten, after we reminded them, they had forgotten again. Overall experience was underwhelming. read more

Had a great solo night at the bar. The service was on point and food was delicious. I have a gluten allergy and they helped guide me through what I could and couldn't have on the menu. They even gave me a side of gem lettuces so I could try the whipped ricotta. Highly recommend as a place to come with friends or solo. read more

Im usually easy going with Tapas, but Le Dive suffers from what many NYC wine bars suffer from. Atmosphere. What I mean by this is that the restaurant spends every attention to detail in regards to the ambiance, however, I am not sure I've ever had worse French bites. It's almost as if they forgot the seasonings which might very well have been the case. That was incredibly bland. That being said, our server was very kind. read more

Came here on a whim later at night. The vibe is super chic and the drinks are strong but good! This isn't the quietest place if you're looking for that since the place is quite small and the seating is a little cramped and it's mostly standing room. I wouldn't get food here specifically because of that but we had a good time. read more

Drinks were amazing , food was fire Jordan was one of our servers and that dude has a good heart , really knew how to talk to a table and explained everything to the tea . Rip to your brother Jordan . Best service I've had in a minute tbh . read more

Terrible service all around. No cutlery, no napkins no share plates, nothing. No one knows what's actually on the menu and just says whatever when asked. FYI a charcuterie board is not only meat, hope that helps! Also when trying to pay, we asked for the bill and waited over 15 minutes. I eventually got up and joined my friend in line for the bathroom and then our server accosted us in line (extremely inappropriate!) and then got mad when I chose not to tip (first time ever not tipping) and told me to leave. Horrendous service and this is coming from someone that works in the indstry. Stop standing around in a group and chatting and actually do your jobs instead of actively ignoring customers. Also your uniforms look like they come straight from H&M, do better. read more

Food - we enjoyed it all. Oysters were freshly shucked (properly without shell fragments), baby gem salad was a surprising favorite, ricotta toast was nicely done with a touch of sweetness and tuna nicoise was cooked and seasoned perfectly and it was a good cut of fish. Drinks - martinis were perfect. Atmosphere - casual but sceney. We sat at the bar and the bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. read more

Great location with outdoor seating in a pedestrian plaza. Starting at 4pm the outside seats starts to fill up and by 5-6pm all the outside seats are gone. Celebrated a company milestone here and everyone from CEO to c-suite executives loved it. The vibes are 10/10 with the red lights making it feel sexy but yet inviting. The food was delicious specially the sliders, the drinks were great and the service amazing. read more

I've always seen this place filled with people so I'm glad I finally tried it out! Right when I walked in, it definitely felt like a cozy Parisian cafe. My friends and I came here sometime around midnight after dinner, and found seats right away at the bar which was lucky since it was pretty crowded. But otherwise, standing room wouldn't have been terrible bc the place was intimate in a good way and no one seemed squished together. The staff was very friendly and I would love to come back here to try out the food! read more

Been by here twice now, once on a sunny but quiet weekend afternoon and another Friday early eve amongst the masses. I definitely enjoyed sitting at the bar, where the music creates a major vibe and watching the bartender is quite entertaining. Fair warning though, the stools are quite uncomfortable and sometimes there's a fan blowing right in your face, so try to scope out the best possible spot. The gimlet on their cocktail menu is deliciously refreshing and citrusy, but after one of those I stuck to some of my usual favorites. Also tried the nicoise salad which was absolutely incredible and the French fries, which were good albeit a bit too salty. Overall, a really enjoyable place and an easy one to hang out at for quite some time. read more

Overhyped. So I've been to Le Dive a few times but this Thursday was absolutely the worst when showing some friends around. The "doorman" who looks like the human manifestation of squidward said we wouldn't get in - despite being dressed well and there being no line. Honestly I'd get it if he didn't let in 6 people right after. This is a BAR not a club...chill out squidward you work at a bar part time. Anyways I digress, some places need to seem cool so I'm sure it's a business tactic. read more

Anyone writing a bad review is just a hater. This place is the best. The drinks are great (pricey!!! but great), the food is great from what I've tried (fries and the burger), and the atmosphere is unmatched. I've gone here on dates, with friends on a night out, with family, after work...it's a versatile spot and the outside seating would make it a 5 star review IF it wasn't impossible to get a table nowadays... read more

My previous review was very good....I had a great time!! This time was a little later in the day. 1.30pm again on a Sunday. What a completely different experience this time..... We walked in and ask the bartender for a table. She was doing nothing and told us to look... for the hostess. She would be by the stand (who knows where that was) or sitting at a table?! We finally sat, the waitress was quite quiet but polite at first....we ordered. The coffee was old, but as she didn't come over or look at us at any time.....I had to go to her....to ask for a new cup, it didn't arrive..... She took our order, my companion's food came 15 mins before mine. That was a cooked item, I ordered a salad. I had to go and find her again. Not once did she come and check on us... I had to go to her once more for a condiment request and some bread.. Again she didn't come to see how we were I had to ask the busboy for the bill. She came over to us when we paid. I told her what I thought of her customer service... she was extremely rude and told us she was happy to see us leave. She was under the impression she gave us good service (hahahaha) and had checked in with us various times. She HAD NOT She is a DiSSERVICE to you establishment!! Such a shame. I shocked and appalled!! I always looked forward to having a memorable time there. read more

I had a terrible experience with the staff. I was rudely dismissed and "told not tonight" by the manager and he then proceeded to walk away with no explanation as to what the issue was. I wouldve been fine with even the slightest explanation but i was just turned away. I dont know if it was somehow race related since I was the only big Latino guy trying to get in and everyone else wasnt but it was disrespectful rude and unprofessional. I definitely wouldnt return ever. read more

This place lets their "trendiness" get to their head... over priced, food is underwhelming. They literally tried to gatekeep a table available indoors from us when it started raining on our outdoor seating, asked the waiter about it and they reluctantly let us have it and guess what?? There was a whole floor completely empty for many people to get out of the rain from the outdoor dining area. So stuck up read more

i've never hated a place more. overrated, exclusive for no reason, trying to hard and honestly pathetic bouncers.

Lots of douchey, very plastic LA types, that would be laughed out of LES a few years ago. Overcrowded with thirsty wannabes. Most people want them to go away. They also somehow selfishly are allowed to use Canal Street (long after the pandemic?) which makes no sense. read more

Mario was the best! Had the best time and best service. 10/10 vibe and food was so good

Wanna feel like you're in France? Go here. Nice outdoor area in the heart of Dime Square.

Cocktails were good and the food was average. Service was dismal. Sitting at the bar, we had to flag down the bartender every time we wanted to order anything. All of the servers came off as very aloof. The icing on the cake was when a server dropped a full plate of mussels behind me. The broth from that dish splashed all over the place including on my back. The back of my dress was substantially wet and stained. Not to mentioned I smelled like fu*k**g shellfish! No one said anything to me until my friend told the bartender about it. He responded by giving my a towel from the back bar to use on my back. Needless to say, we won't be back and don't recommend that anyone goes. read more

Alex was a phenomenal server! Great drinks and great vibes. I will defiantly be returning when I visit NYC!

We were really excited to try this place but were let down. The first thing I noticed was the cloud of flies covering the ceiling, which was immediately off putting. We ordered the country omelette, ham & cheese baguette, and the mussels. The server who seated us was very nice and friendly, but our actual server was very careless. Our omelette came the same time as our mussels, but our mussels were cold and tasted like they had been left out. We couldn't even eat the mussels and had to leave it on the table next to us. The omelette was okay but not worth $19. The fries that came with the omelette were the best part of the meal. Not once did someone come to check on us and ask how our food was, which was strange because the restaurant was fairly empty. We ate our entire omelette and waited 20 minutes for the baguette. After waiting, we asked a server to check on it, but no one got back to us. We got tired of waiting so long, so we asked our server to cancel the dish. In the mean time, they had mixed up our checks with the table next to us and were trying to fix that. Our server came back to tell us they were getting our baguette ready, even though we had just asked him to cancel the dish, so he had somehow misunderstood us. They finally figured out how to remove the baguette from our check, and we got to pay, but our server stood over us and watched us choose the tip. We probably tipped more than he deserved. Maybe this was a one off thing because many of the other reviews seemed to really enjoy this place, but it felt like we were trapped there, and they wouldn't let us leave. Very poor service and food, especially for the price. read more
