    Oysters ($7 for 6 @ Happy Hour)
    Gordon Y.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 7 Decor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 7 This review is purely based on the Happy Hour, which is as follows below. Monday: All Day Tuesday to Friday: 4pm - 7pm Saturday & Sunday: 2pm - 5pm We came here specifically for the Happy Hour oysters, which are $7 for half a dozen. On the day we were there, they had oysters from Massachusetts, and they were quite good. Very fresh and cleanly shucked. Two of us had a dozen each. As for other Happy Hour items, the two Ricky's Sliders for $7 were just okay, while the two Fried Chicken Sliders were actually not bad. With that said, not sure I would get them when I could just order more of those awesome oysters. Lol Penicillin and Espresso Martini, each for $7 during Happy Hour, were both quite well made. I could see myself coming back again for some Happy Hour oysters and a few drinks.

Recently visited for happy hr. as me and my friends were bar crawling. They have select bites for discounted price. I was happy to see they had oysters but, they didn't have them available on this visit. Booooo. I didn't see anything else on the happy hr menu that piqued my interest. Although that was the end of my interest on bites, I took advantage of the happy hr cocktail menu. I went with the emotional orange. It reminded me of a jazzed up aperol spritz. It was tasty and boozy. The bartenders were pretty friendly and had many accouterments to craft beverages. The atmosphere was ok but, the music could've used a little help. I may give them another chance but, maybe I'd eye the regular menu on that visit.

came here for happy hour with friends and ended up staying way longer than planned because we were having such a good time truthfully. we shared the sliders, focaccia & hummus, and fries. we ended up trying a variety of cocktails & all the girls were sipppping! the bar has dim lighting BUT has holiday lights up everywhere & we appreciated that so much. it automatically enhances your mood. i will say, i usually don't like espresso martinis but this one surprised me. i loved it and even ordered a second. after 7pm, they begin $10 martinis. our server was also incredibly patient the whole time so shout out to her.

I really enjoyed randomly finding this spot. Their gold rush is delicious. Quick service. Cool bartenders. The music is great too. The music was the best as they play music ranging from r&b, rap, dembow, to throwbacks.

Cool happy hour place for everyone's new favorite drink, The espresso martini! However please be aware they are pre-made with an inexpensive vodka that might leave you with a hangover the next day. Good happy hour food options as well but my chicken sliders were def made with old chicken. The chicken was brown and hard. Fries were good and very cool aesthetically pleasing bar. I would try it again, in hopes to have better food. Bartender service was very good though.

Popped in here while it was raining to stay dry and we grabbed a seat at the bar and got drinks. They have an awesome happy hour that starts early (at least on Saturday's). I got a glass of wine and our bartender was really nice! Vibes were great and it was a good crowd for a Saturday afternoon! I would totally go back.

$7 for a happy hour espresso martini is iconic. Quality espresso martinis too, not one of these watered down, low effort, danced on canned espresso martinis... Sorry a lot of descriptors there but they came from my soul. A reasonable happy hour from 4-7pm too. $7 at 6:59pm, $17 at 7:01pm. It really grinds my gears when places advertise a happy hour but it's from 4-6 M-F only... like I can't even physically make that. I guess I gotta go harder for financial freedom... I sat here at the Pretty Ricky's bar with my big homie, surrounded by Halloween decorations, ripping a couple $7 espresso martinis while just sitting there talking about life. Pretty Ricky's is doing inflation how Ilia Topuria did Max Holloway last night. Damn that hurt to even type. Tough to watch your heroes get sent to the shadow realm, but a $7 espresso martini helps take the pain away. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

$7 drinks and a weekend happy hour, what more could you ask for? Was attracted to the retro signage and came in to wait for my pants to be hemmed at Orchard Express. The bar has a lot of space, with a big back room. There are many places where you can stand and put down your drink, so you can tell it gets busy in here. I saw about 20 or so taps, so I figure it's a beer bar but had a cocktail instead along with the sliders (get the chicken ones.)

Disco Shrimp: Resurrection and What Happened to the 9 Train
    Rosalie C.

Came here with my finance for a quick drink and bite before a concert at Mercury Lounge last weekend. We ordered the Disco Shrimp: Resurrection and What Happened to the 9 Train to drink and shared fries, a kale salad and crispy chicken sandwich. I was super perplexed by the Disco Shrimp: Resurrection drink. The server described it as tasting like a chocolate covered strawberry margarita and she was spot on! This drink was so unique and very good. My finance also enjoyed his drink. The fries and sandwich were also good. I surprisingly enjoyed the kale salad more than I expected to. I mean it's a kale salad; what's so special? I find kale just ok and I would come back here just for this salad and disco shrimp cocktail alone. The service was great. We had two servers and they were both attentive and awesome. The windows and doors were open so it was a little hot but we're also in the middle of a heat wave so it is what it is. I'm not sure we'll be in the area again anytime soon but if we are I'll definitely stop by again. They have a few more unique cocktails that caught my eye.

Chill vibes, fantastic fries, great happy hour until 7PM! I wasn't a fan of the gruner white wine but everything else was solid. Friendly service but had to flag her down after a while to try and pay!

Happy Hour - Espresso Martini: community vodka, mr black coffee liqueur, cold brew ($6) & Sauvignon Blanc: Gotham Projects, FR ($6)

Date: Friday, January 12th, 2024 Time: around 5pm Party of: 3 What: Happy Hour (Tues to Fri 4pm to 7pm, Sat & Sun 2pm to 5pm) *1/2 Dozen Oysters: Mignonette, Cocktail Sauce ($6) *French Fries ($6) *Espresso Martini: community vodka, mr black coffee liqueur, cold brew ($6) x2 *Bunny Bravo | Espresso & Tonic: ilegal mezcal, amontillado sherry, spiced pear, cold brew fever tree tonic ($6) *Sauvignon Blanc: Gotham Projects, FR ($6) x2 *Jameson ($16) When we first arrived, it wasn't super busy, so we managed to easily grab three seats at the bar. (All the booths were taken.) Towards the end of our time here, it got busier, so we came at a good time. Everything above is from their HH menu except for the Jameson. In a world where inflation is driving up everything, $6 per HH item is awesome! I got the espresso martini and sauvignon blanc. The espresso martini was good. Not too sweet. The sauvignon blanc paired well with the oysters. Tho I'm a fan of smaller oysters, so these were on the bigger side for me. The fries were fine. Some fried food is always a good snack when drinking. If ordering straight whisky / scotch, I would recommend going for the higher shelf stuff as it is reasonably priced. I can't remember what we asked about (maybe the oban 14?), but the price was the same as a pour of jameson. (We figured the jameson would be cheaper, but it was the same price.) Great HH spot. The bartender was nice and attentive without being overly so. Definitely worth checking out.

Miguel was the best bartender I've ever seen in my existence of living. He was so kind he was so nice and he made my drink so good. I don't know who the manager is of that establishment but he needs to give Miguel a raise. Also on top of that, the social media manager girl Keeley took photos of us and she ate that up real bad and she ate that me and my friends will definitely back to get more drinks and inside it looks a little bit frat ish because of the people who come in, but other than that, it's a great vibe 10 out of 10 I'm coming back

I popped in here on a Sunday with some friends. The server recognized my friend because he's a a regular, so we were greeted warmly! I got a cider ($9) which I enjoyed. The bathroom is downstairs in the back and there are 4 single stalls. There also another bar area in the back.

The…read morepull apart truffle monkey bread was our initial reason for coming, and although the price point was quite steep, I would say it's worth the try. The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

I went on a Thursday night, and the place was absolutely packed. The front feels more like a bar/casual area, while the dining room is tucked toward the back. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! Bar service is friendly as always and they do a decent job moving you along to ensure the necessary turnover without feeling too rushed.

Walking up after greeting you, the first question the door guy asks is if you have a reservation. After being let in (once you said yes), there is a another line at the host stand to verify the reservations, then to be seated. This area is a narrow space between the bar and the staff behind the podium so there will still be a smaller wait outside for those waiting to get in due to tight space. Once seated, the bartender Meaghan came over immediately to greet us, offering sparkling, still or tap water. Alongside your glass, there was a selection of citrus (lemon/lime/orange) or cucumber to add which was a nice touch. Although I already had an idea of what I wanted, I went a completely different direction once she mentioned the off-menu selections. This ended up being the heirloom tomato salad (I know, when the heck have I ever ordered anything like this) which was $20, and a side of their hand-cut fries, $13.95. You are to order everything at once, and they course it out accordingly. The people next to me ordered a lot of food; most of it the popular items which I veered away from with the exception of the fries. The party on the other side went with two items I was considering prior so it was nice to see what these looked like up close. The tomato salad was very good! I normally scrape off onions but I actually ate all of them and the taste didn't 'stay with you' which I was grateful for, while the basil flavor was a nice contrast. These were the larger beefsteak style tomatoes so I was fork and knifing this dish. I will admit this, along with the fries, were a little more salty than what I am used to but it was delicious overall. I almost considered a sauce with the fries but they honestly did not need it; the flavor was more than enough on their own. Wasn't planning on it, but I ended up adding the apple hand pies ($19) which were pretty good. They didn't have anything really chocolate-based, so this was the next best thing. Since they come in an order of two, I ended up taking the other hand pie to go. Restrooms are right past the bar, down a flight of steps and there are two single-sex doors. If you are seated at the bar, you pretty much have no reason to go past that into the dining room so it felt like a subtle off-limit area (and staff was there to direct you where to go). Truth is, I really didn't want to like this place. I didn't want to have to deal with scoring a reservation in the future however the food I had was decent (and there are still some items I want to try), service from the doorman, Meaghan, the food runners, and hostesses was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great. You may also end up talking to fellow diners comparing dishes, and it made for an enjoyable experience all around. I'd say it was worth it.
