Points for: good service, good ambience, sat quickly even on a very busy weekend in NYC (Pride) Lost points for: food was just okay, kind of bland overall

One good thing is we did get sat very quickly even on St.Patrick's day and drinks were yummy but the food took a while for one appetizer of street corn and was not very good very sour and a lot of mayo would not recommend for $17

This cute bar that I have passed alot but never stepped foot into was a place I finally tried last night as I was there for a holiday party. I did not try any if the food but what I saw looked tasty. I had seen the social media page for this bar and saw to try their Espresso Martini. So that is what I got. I must say very tasty a bit on the strong side, which is a good thing...Right?! They have some good beer selections too. I then had a Goose IPA. Their weekly specials are pretty good too. 4PM - 8PM MIXED WELL DRINKS $8.00 DRAFT BEER $7.00 BOTTLES $5.00 WINES $8.00 DAILY SPECIALS SUNDAY Happy Hour 4PM - CLOSE MONDAY Half price bottle of wine after 8PM TUESDAY $8 Margaritas and 1/2 off Apps with entrée ALL DAY WEDNESDAY $5 Espresso Martinis and free beer with burger purchase ALL DAY THURSDAY $5 Aperol Spritz ALL DAY I will have yet to come back on a Wednesday and take part in 5.00 Espresso Martinis!!! I will be back here and if you find yourself in the area I would stop in!

A good spot if you're in the area. Great happy hour deals with selected wines, cocktails and beers. Food was decent as well. We enjoyed the buffalo chicken sliders. We also ordered the rigatoni and Caesar salad. They were generous with the amount of Parmesan!

Came here on a Thursday night to grab some food and drinks, but arrived a little bit too late for food. Bartender was super nice and tried to help me find places I can find food, but I opted to just stay and get a drink. Can't remember for the life of me what I got, but it had coffee and whipped cream in it, and was super delicious. Bartender was super friendly and nice but also considerate enough to catch on that I just wanted to be left alone. Overall a nice place, would definitely drop by again!

Highly recommend this cute bar in the East Village. Great happy hour deals and awesome service. The margaritas and chips and guac were great and our server was very friendly. Definitely will be going back soon!

Linen Hall has character. It is a very decent bar that you can grab a drink or order a meal. The server staff and bartenders were enthusiastic and chatty. For bar food you can get a decent burger. I thought the fries that came with it were worth every calorie. I was hoping my beer would wash any calories completely away. This is a fun bar with a good mix of people.

My friend suggested we try Linen Hall as it was near her apartment and we were extra enticed by the happy hour. We called ahead and got a reservation, which I highly recommend, and got a table outside. The tables were a good size but fairly close to each other. However I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the inside/outside set up and the floral elements sprinkled throughout the restaurant. I ordered the Mezzi Rigatoni and the Sweet Like Sugar cocktail. The drink was full of flavor and I loved the sugar rim but definitely on the stronger side. The pasta was absolutely to die for! The texture of the pasta coupled with the tangy sauce made for a delightful pairing. The chicken was tender and juicy and overall this dish was absolutely amazing. Our waitress did a great job giving us space to have dinner and chat while still being attentive. The menu can be a bit on the higher side but they have an AMAZING happy hour! Overall I highly recommend this restaurant for happy hour and an amazing pasta dish.

Loved this place! Came here for my birthday, and it was so great! I was here for dinner. I was in the area, and found this place. I ordered a hamburger (Linen Burger), and it was so good! This restaurant is super cute and cozy, too. There were lots of people just hanging out at the bar drinking. There is also outdoor seating as well. The burger I had was amazing and delicious. I'm so glad I came here! I would definitely come back here again. This is in a super convenient area and the service was great, as well.

Their disco fries - definitely will be back for these!

Linen has been my home base for the last 3 years. Different occasions where I've come here: - First dates on week nights - Date nights on week nights - Happy hour with friends in the summer, sitting outside in the warm weather - Happy hour (all night) with friends on a Sunday night - Dessert on a Sunday afternoon It's situated right next to Penny and there's a door that connects the two businesses. I usually order disco fries during happy hour to go with the wine. It keeps me full for a couple of hours and then I can go for a proper dinner. Wines during happy hour are $5/$6. The only issue is that it gets REALLY noisy and you need to half-yell to be heard. But on week nights it's quiet and relaxed. As long as I'm still in the same neighborhood, I will be coming back.

I'm so glad this place's overall rating has gone from a 3.5 to a 4. Been here three times within 6 months for good reason; Linen Hall has variety, quality, a nice atmosphere, and a convenient location. I spend a little over $18 including tip and tax every time I go, and that's only because I always order steak and 2 eggs any style. The steak is a little chewy for medium rare, but well spiced. Overall it's quite filling. Brunch at least also comes with a free drink (I quite enjoy their orange juice!), and though orders usually take about 20 minutes to arrive, service is pleasant and you get a large bottle of water so that you can refill yourself as needed. After trying the French toast and a couple of other dishes, I would dare to order anything. Seriously.

It felt like the kind of place that's been quietly doing things well for decades. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Since Monkey Bar is known for its martinis, ordering one was an easy decision, and it didn't disappoint. Sometimes the places you stumble into on a recommendation end up being the ones you remember most, and Monkey Bar was definitely one of those for us.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. Appetizers: the octopus carpaccio was the best and I'd order again. The tuna tartare was a little too heavy on the sauce flavor, and the golden beets were unmemorable. The yellowtail was good I think, but didn't stand out either. Mains: the duck borek has more of a sausage like meat texture.
