One of my disappointing eats on this trip. I made a reservation on a Sunday night and it was not busy at all. A reservation is not required, but recommended for some days. I ordered the Coconut Crusted Halinut and the rest of the group ordered the Lemon Ricotta Tortellini and the Chicken Parm Meatballs. We also ordered a Nellie's Chopped salad and Heirloom Carrots to share. Salad tasted strange, carrots were not soft. Group liked their entrees at least. Halibut was good, but it was definitely lacking something. Waiter and front table were sweet. Since we were celebrating, they were nice enough to give dessert on the house and gift a celebratory card for the one celebrating. Dessert we thought wasnt overly sweet and was just enough for 4 people.
First time and won't be my last. You can tell upon entry that this place is very trendy. Didn't order a cocktail but will have to next time. They look so fun! The food is great for sharing. The orzo salad was GREAT! I would order again. The lobster rolls were fine as were the eggplant chips.
Such a fun surprise. Croquettes. Oysters. Strip steak and pasta. So good! Service was awesome and super fun.
This place is super cute! I loved all the wall decor and it's a lovely place for a girls lunch. They have small intimate tables and some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Even the salt and pepper were in cute ceramic lemons. The wait staff was really helpful to make decisions on what to choose and they brought us whatever we needed quickly. We tried the crunchy tuna tartare and the chicken sandwich, both amazing. The drinks were v fab too I had an elderflower Spritz and my friend had the margarita. Definitely recommend it and will be back
A must visit while in New York when going to the theatre or just looking to have a great dining experience. Miss Nellie's has beautiful decor and charm. Very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Filthy Martini. So good! The blue cheese stuffed olives were delicious. Brunch Menu. My main dish, I went with the double smash burger. Upgraded the fries to parmesan truffle fries. It was delicious! I would like to come back again, especially to try the dinner menu. Overall, great experience, and very satisfied.
Nice place to stop for a drink and food before or after a Broadway show. I love the decor and vibe since it is dark and chill. Service was friendly but super slow. Drinks were good but overpriced. My mom and I shared an order of chicken bites and an order of meatball. Both had good flavor but the meatballs were pretty dry.
3.5 rounded up to 4. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance, and the service was great! We went for brunch on a Saturday and had a mostly good experience with the food. We started with the bee pollen pancakes and the banana bread. The banana bread was underwhelming and expensive for the small portion you get. The pancakes were fantastic and perfect for sharing. The BEC sandwich was alright, but the smash burger was the best bite by far. We were not impressed with the short rib benny, it was lukewarm and lacking flavor. Overall a very good brunch and we would definitely come back.
The food was delicious, portions could have been larger, the drinks were a hit and the environment was the best part! Such cozy vintage vibes and the PHOTOBOOTH Service was a bit slow at first, but our server was great once it got started.
We had some time to kill before a jazz show at Birdland, so decided to check out Miss Nellie's. From the street, the space looked dark and moody with a speakeasy vibe. Stepping in, this swanky atmosphere was confirmed. Miss Nellie's is quite spacious with a front and back bar. I enjoyed a birthday pour of Johnnie Walker Green, served over a large rock that was stamped and embossed with the venue's logo. So cool! My wife enjoyed an "Above the Clouds" craft cocktail - with a butterfly pea-infused gin. The presentation was elevated by an artistic bubble applied over the cocktail that dissipated into vapor with the touch of a finger. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and outgoing! They made sure that I was well taken care of for my birthday. It was such a great experience that we returned for another round after the jazz show. Thank you for the hospitality Miss Nellie's!

Located right in Times Square, minutes from the theatres, Miss Nellie's is a good spot for a pre show dinner. Our server was kind and spunky. The cocktails are good, our appetizers were delicious, but the entrees fell a little flat. I had the cauliflower entree and I was served an entire head of cauliflower, the flavors were good but nobody needs to eat that much cauliflower in one sitting. Highly recommend the peach toast app. Service was quick, which is favorable before a broadway show. They have a modern photobooth, which is a fun touch as well.
This place has it all; excellent decor, phenomenal dining, and quality drinks. The service is unmatched. Make sure to get the pancakes - you won't regret it.

Visited NY for a couple days and Miss Nellies was around corner from hotel. Made a reservation even though I do not think it was necessary on this Monday night. I had inquired earlier about dress attire and was told loose business casual which we found was correct when we saw patrons dressed in blue jeans and tennis shoes. We were seated immediately in the dimly lite dinning area. Upper walls are decorated/drapped with rugs which is a good idea for sound deadening. Lighting is very dim which made our menu reading a little trying. Our waitress was right with us asking what type of water we wanted. We got that settled and then ordered some drinks. We did not order any appetizer as we had been walking City munching thru the day. My wife ordered chicken meatballs over a pasta, broccolini, tomato field. The meatballs were stuffed with mozzerella cheese. Her dish was very flavorful. I ordered crispy chicken pieces with sweet/spicy sauce and buttermilk aoili. This dish was very good as chicken stayed crispy as the sauce was poured on plate before chicken. The waitress and chef were accomodating to a slight food tolerance re: the pepper flakes which were to be on her plate. Our waitress checked on us several times during our stay. BTW, we were celebrating an anniversary, which I let them know ahead, and we were presented with a card congratulating us. We had a comfortable time and would return. read more
Post theatre "Harry Potter and The Cursed Child" dinner in Theatre District on a August Sunday at 5:10 pm. On a whim, I enter without reservation, without judgment, without expectation and without a wait. Miss Nellie's is a very relaxed casual atmosphere. Dark and very low lighting. At the entrance there is a mural of a large red hot air balloon depicting Jules Verne's novel "Around the World in Eighty Days" which I actually enjoyed this novel. I also admire this mural. Customer service is attentive as I was greeted by the hostess upon entry in a bar parlor style foyer area. I did not lie in wait for a table. I was promptly seated at a high table with a high chair in the dark. I did not need a booth. I was willing to be seated at the bar counter. It contains vintage tin ceiling tiles. Facilities are relatively clean. Double Smash burger $26.00 Features two thin, crispy beef patties immersed in iceberg, pickles, caramelized onions, American cheese, special sauce with French fries The burger was average as I did engulf within minutes to satisfy my hunger pangs. There were minimal lettuce and seemingly no pickles. Intimate and casual atmosphere does not make the optimal lighting for visual assessment. This very low lighting does not make the most opportune conditions for food photography either. Ergo, every table contains a candle lighted which I actually used as a source of light when reviewing the printed menu. Yes, there is a printed menu that you can actually hold in your hands. My male server stated "it is really not two patties, but it is one large patty separated into two." Truth: it is two thin beef patties. The burger meat was very average, but not juicy filled with intense flavor for seasoning and moisture. Truffle parmesan fries is an option, but I decided traditional classic French fries. The French fries were somewhat burnt because it was hard. The condiments provided were ketchup and mayo sauce. I prefer crinkle cut fries. I engulfed my meal within mere minutes because I inadvertently skipped breakfast and lunch leading to hunger pangs. No comment for alcohol as I did not order any. No comment for non-alcoholic drink as I also did not order any. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of high intensity extortionate 25%, 22% and 20% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I did obtain my sales receipt as keepsake. My payment method was cash. Business cards are available for grabs. read more

First, the reservation system worked great. And it was an automated voice system! I couldn't believe it. Second, the service was attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. Third, the place is decorated in a way that is eclectic yet fun. Really comfortable And fourth, the most important, the food was great. This restaurant does it right. read more
My friend and I stumbled upon this place. It's so cute outside. It was a nice day out so chose to sit outside. We got: - Rocco cocktail: they said this was new and I really enjoyed it. First .. it is soooo cute. They have a really nice bar area and then a parlor styled seating area. There is eclectic art and memorabilia on the walls. The only negative was it was FREEZING. Astrid, our server was very warm and welcoming. The menu was interesting. VERY good cocktails. I regret we were a party of 2 and didn't get one of the punchbowls..next time though. The food was OK. The smashburger was really good. The turkey dip was just ok. It would've been better on some other type of bread. The fries weren't good at all. I wish restaurants would come up w sauces that aren't mayo based but that's just me.. read more
We were in town visiting family and going to a show so we wanted to go somewhere near the show. We found this place online and it looked pretty nice. We ordered a few drinks (Old fashioned, and Martini), both drinks were made perfect and was tasty. We ordered the smoked French dip sandwich to share along with Broccolini. The sandwich was a little smoky, the meat was tender, and the bread was soft and held together perfectly. The sauce on it was ok. The dip sauce which was more like a gravy sauce was just okay. It thickened up quickly as it got cold so you had to eat fast. I'm a fan of the original dip sauce with that said it was still a good sandwich. The broccolini was cooked perfect. For dessert we ordered the Sticky Toffee Sundae. It was definitely different but good. I could've used some sauce on it like the normal sticky toffee pudding has but it was delicious. The place was really busy and the service was still good. The place has plenty of seating inside and outside there are a few tables to sit at. The ambience inside is outstanding as if you were in France. When I'm back in NY, we will definitely come back. read more

When you even enter Miss Nellie's, you feel like you are going to France or some European country with all the wonderful decor around. This lace was lively and it opens late so that is why we picked it. Overall I would totally suggest coming here. It is close to Times Square and the interior is super cute! They serve food and drinks here and the food was actually pretty delicious. Service was on point there is so much staff here and they all take care of each other's tables and ask if you need anything else. Loved that! Grab a drink get some oysters and truffle fries and you are set! The French dip was also tasty! Overall we had a fun time and I would come back here just to enjoy the vibe. read more

I went here after a broadway show and it was fantastic! At first my group and I were sat in a room that wasn't the main room. We wanted to be in the mix so we asked to change tables and they accommodated us. There were 3 of us and we split a few apps and a main dish. The snapper was absolutely delicious and so were the lobster caviar rolls. Highly recommend! read more

The ambience is unmatched! I love the historical Victorian ambience and the lighting with portraits all over adds to it. The Guinness was a bit on the light side but the food was very good - we shared charcuterie, eggplant chips, mozz sticks, and meatballs. The meatballs were a bit overcooked and I was hoping the mozz sticks had more of a kick. I really liked the eggplant chips. The irish espresso was FANTASTIC. I went to Miss Nellie's for brunch on my first day in NYC, and it was such a beautiful way to start the trip. The space itself is a 10/10 aesthetically -- absolutely gorgeous and perfect for photos. I ordered the vanilla matcha and the chicken and waffles. The matcha was delicious -- rich in flavor and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. The chicken and waffles were a bit of a mixed experience. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and hard to chew, which made it less enjoyable. However, the collard green waffle was really good. It wasn't too sweet, and when paired with the sweet potato butter and honey, it was fantastic. My mom ordered the huevos rancheros, and she really enjoyed her dish. Overall, the food was solid, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth trying at least once. read more

Came here for brunch with 4 other friends on a Saturday. We were looking for a diner / American restaurant but many other nearby places were packed so we came across this gem. The restaurant was full but it's massive so we were able to get seated immediately. The holiday decoration is on another level. Super cozy and fun and joyful. I got the double smash burger, my friends got chicken waffles and egg Benedict. Every dish is amazing. The burger satisfies my craving and the waffles have a savory undertone. Our waiter was very friendly and fast. The price was also very reasonable. Overall an amazing place for brunch esp during the holidays. A fantastic recommendation from a New Yorker. We stopped here for a late night drinks and a few snacks. What a fantastic place. Not only worth the drinks and food top-notch but the environment and holiday decorations were over the top. We were lucky to have Tova as our server that being for last week in the United States. She was extremely polite and efficient and actually quite fun to talk with. The drink selection was top notch. The wines selection was much better than most bars and the apps for the table were all delicious. We enjoyed the charcuterie, meatballs & crispy rice!! Best wishes back home Tova. Miss Nellie's is an American restaurant located in Midtown West that perfect blend of cozy and eclectic that makes you want to settle in for a long meal. *AMBIANCE* The decor feels like a modern twist on classic Southern charm, but now that it's the holidays, there's an explosion of warm lighting, Christmas decor weaved through the other quirky touches that show personality. *FOOD* I recommend trying the double smashburger ($26) which was a delectably decadent and probably my favorite out of all the dishes I've tried here. It comes with a side of fries. Other notable recommendations are the Chicken Parm Meatballs ($28) which were unique and a take on the traditional chicken parm but with a cavatelli pasta. I also enjoyed the truffle parm fries ($14) which comes with a generous portion, though a bit pricey. The eggplant chips ($16) were very cripsy though I think it would be better matched with a chipotle mayo or tartar sauce rather than a hot honey to give it more flavor. *SERVICE* Service is friendly and attentive. Though there could be times where periods are slow like when we had to wait a long time for our main entrees to arrive after finishing our appetizers. Whether you're there for brunch, lunch, or dinner, the atmosphere strikes a balance between relaxed and lively, making it a great spot for catching up with friends or grabbing some drinks while enjoying the holiday decor. read more

We stopped in twice during our recent visit - once for dinner and then for their late night happy hour. I loved the vibe for dinner - very dim, chic, almost like dark cafes in Paris. Great date night feel. We were stuff so shared a double smash burger with truffle fries. Very good. We had a couple of glasses of wine. Our server was attentive at first and then went missing. Another server finished our service. Odd. Anyway.... It was good with us (we're flex). Later we stopped back in for their late night happy hour, since the restaurant was close to our hotel - we sat at the larger bar in the back (there is a smaller bar in front). Vibe was definitely more club-like & loud but not so much that I couldn't carry-on a conversation with my husband. We ordered Hugo Spritz's for $10 & shared a toffee dessert. Very delish! Overall, aside from the waiter snafu during our dinner, we liked Miss Nellie's! I've included some pics. read more
Miss Nellie's is always a journey. Even though it's very time square, their food and drink out perform the others in the area. I haven't ever gotten bad service, the drinks are always lovely, and the food while simple, is well done. It's well located for a night at the theater and is always a good time! Came here for the anniversary event which included a free drink. Full bar, huge space with a room that also included a bar by the entrance. Very mature looking. The bartender Sarcha was nice and polite. I had the Negroni which was ok but I can tell it's me of a gentleman's drink. I order the spicy boneless chicken bites which was good but not spicy. I loved the cute envelope that is given with the bill and the uniforms are different. It was a good experience and I works definitely go again and recommended for after work. read more
Tried the spicy chicken tenders that had a great glaze on it and the s'mores dessert. Wow. That sweet treat exceeded my expectations. Came Out in a small cast iron dish, perfectly baked and gooey with chocolate. Highly recommended. Service was friendly and my friend particularly enjoyed the wall art. read more
