Had reservations for 2 on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We got there about three minutes late, but they seated us within 5 minutes in a booth. It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

First-rate service, a lovely and polished location in Chelsea, wonderful coffee, and a very tasty take on Eggs Benedict with salmon on a potato pancake. Everyone went away happy with amazing French toast and a pastrami hash. There was really nothing to complain about the service, which was great and the atmosphere, which was tip-top and relaxing.

Love the look of Friedman's. Nice dining room that they pack in comfortably. Came for an early breakfast and the dining room filled so fast that I was happy we got there early before the rush. I got myself delicious sunny side up eggs with the pastrami hash. I was impressed by the chunks of pastrami throughout. Very hearty and very delicious! My husband indulged in the Nova Benedict. They packed on the lox. He didn't even finish but found it amazingly delicious. Service was okay. Nothing too spectacular. I almost felt an inconvenience to the server but we didn't have a fussy order nor was it busy (we ordered before the rush). Maybe she was preparing for the rush. Lol either way, it wouldn't stop me from returning.

We were looking for a place that wasn't a sushi joint or a place to get liquored up. Friedman's fit the bill. Speedy service. Big menu. Good food. My wife had the tuna sandwich; I had the grain bowl with tofu. Perfect!

came here with my friend who's celiac and she was so excited to try their mac and cheese bites! the pancakes and french toast were also amazing too. the ambiance is nice we got seated next to the window and managed to get in without a reservation. the service was quick and they were very attentive! highly recommend for a good gluten free brunch in midtown.

Wonderful. My waiter was so nice and attentive. This restaurant was on a lot of the gluten free lists so I had to check it out. It did NOT disappoint. I got the pan-seared fish sandwich with gluten free bread. So good. I had trouble figuring out the dipping sauces I liked. They don't have barbecue sauce so I tried the honey mustard and the herbed aioli. So-so but not quite right. (The next day I went to the singing Friedmans at Times Square and tried the garlic aioli. Get the garlic aioli for this). The mango pineapple lemonade was divine (although I preferred the tartness of the Elphaba and Galinda I had at the Singing Friedmans).

We were able to snag a booth for two on a Saturday at lunch with under a 5 mins wait. The place is super inviting with spacious windows and high ceilings and plants which make it feel airy while the wood made it warm and natural. The booth was comfortable. Our server was outstanding. She was funny, attentive, and very helpful. They're easily able to accommodate gluten free (my friend has a severe gluten allergy). I had the corned beef sandwich and it was the best corned beef I've had. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. This would be on my regular rotation if I lived here.

Love this place. Spacious and cute. Modern great Gatsby ambiance and decor. Wonderful. We had a reservation and were treated nicely. It was packed on a Saturday morning for brunch yet all staff were attentive and active. There wasn't a moment we weren't checked on. I ordered a Tokyo 75 and BLAT without the avocado. Food was good. The drink was eh. Only because I am NOT a fan of bubbly/ spritz. I tasted zero alcohol and it felt like I was paying $14 for juice. The sandwich was standard but they did an excellent job with the good cuts of bacon. I rated this four stars because I paid $41 for a sandwich and drink during brunch. I left full (mostly due to the bread and fries) but I wanted more. It wasn't anything to be wowed about.

Friedman serves up your favorite breakfast dishes with an old school diner vibe. Also offering alcoholic beverages as well. Big menu offering all kinds of options for breakfast and brunch. Service was great and the food was delicious. A great spot to get breakfast while in NYC.

Perfect pre-MSG concert spot! Walked in during their Happy Hour, which is daily from 2-6pm! FYI, their HH bevs are always avail, but their HH small bites are only avail on the weekdays. We shared everything as a party of 3 and it was just right: - Sweet Potato Fries (HH): Plentiful and the perfect finger food to pick on - Buffalo Wings (HH): Standardly coated with the right level of spice - Korean BBQ Wings (HH): Reminds me of a soy garlic flavor, YUM! - Classic BLAT (Reg item): Shared this w my sister and it came with fries too! This was the right amt to share with all the HH items we got Overall, would return for a reliable, decent American bite if I have another concert nearby. Spacious restaurant, clean restrooms, and helpful staff.

Service was great. Food came out quick, like questionably quick for a steak. Nice atmosphere but tables too close. The meatloaf was bland and the mashed potatoes and spinach were good after I seasoned them. I don't usually have to season my food. My husband's steak was okay. We would only probably go back during the singing servers times for entertainment.

This is kind of just your regular brunch place, nothing too special, but it's a solid spot. I get the feeling it won't let you down too badly. We had a huge reservation for my whole family, and they were able to accommodate us in the back room on a long long table. Didn't wait long at all, and the waitstaff was very friendly! I ordered the two eggs with style (with bacon), and what you see is what I got. I liked the crunch on the hash browns, and the strawberry butter was a really great surprise! I did see that other people were able to get different types of bread with their meal -- maybe that's slightly on me for not asking, but I just wish they would have put the bread choices somewhere on the menu instead of literally saying in the dish description that it came with whole wheat toast. We also shared lemon ricotta table pancakes, and I really enjoyed the couple bites I had! Bursting with lemon flavor and the best little treat after eating my meal.

Maybe 3.5? I'm not the biggest brunch fan, so if I'm going to brunch it better be gooooood. This was fine. Service was good, the hostesses were great in dealing with seating on a busy Saturday ~ I don't think we really saw our waitress much after we got our food, she was def busy too. The lemon ricotta pancakes had good flavor, felt very dense though ~ I prefer a lighter fluffier texture. The eggs with style were fine ~ the scramble was giving dry hotel eggs, would've loved a good folded egg. One of the bacon strips was super crispy and the other was jerky, the hash brown was good. Felt a little bland overall though. Best part was the strawberry butter for the bread. Coffee was great, they get it from La Colombe ~ Overall felt kinda pricey for diner quality.

Is it loud inside? I'm going to be meeting with someone who has difficulty hearing.

I was there on a Thursday morning and I did not think it was too loud.

Do they cater? Can I have a party and take over the entire restaurant?

They do have catering services. You can call or inquire online . There is a tab for catering on their website. They did mention their famous pastrami sandwiches, turkey and vegetarian sandwiches (GF) option .…

    Do they take reservations?

No you can just walk in rsvp is not required

    Is brunch available on weekdays?

No, I remember looking for this option when I was in town. Sorry..

    Is this place kid friendly?

Yes. On the weekends you can use the Yelp waitlist feature to avoid having to wait outside. During the week, there isn't a ton of intel as to the magnitude of the wait, so you may not have a ton of space for the kid(s) to stand while waiting.

Do they serve alcohol during weekday lunch? Wine, beer drinks?

    Yes

    Is this reservation only?

They also have an online (yelp) waitlist last time I went that you can get yourself in so that you can time your arrival

Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible? It seems like it is from my visit, but it isn't marked as such on Yelp.

The space is limited but and the tables and space aren't really designed for wheelchairs. I'm sure they can work but I would be a bit too tight

Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Just all around a poor experience and a disappointing Friday night. There are far better places that appreciate your patronage. We will not be coming back. Not worth it.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. The menu on the table was a la carte. This did however work out better for me as I had limited time since I was catching a broadway show. Started with the olives then followed with the hot dogs and closed with the gem lettuce. They did come at different times. This gave me the perfect time to nibble slowly. The olives paired perfectly with the salad. The hot dogs were my favorite. The whole meal was perfectly balanced for me. Just have to mention how amazing the service was. No table had anything waiting to be taken away because there was always someone walking around. At one point, one of the guys clocked I had just finished drinking my water and within seconds he was at my table refilling my glass. I mean c'mon. Will took great care of me. He even suggested the dessert I ended up getting which was the peach cruller. I'm gonna try to come back to do the lunch tasting before I go back home to LA.

Bursting with flavor and the potatoes made for a nice variation of textures. Salmon with endive salad was also great. Salmon skin was cooked perfectly. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the corn gelato. Just didn't taste like much and the peaches I found didn't really play well with the dish for me. Overall though, service was top notch and you can't beat the upscale vibe. Would definitely recommend this for restaurant week experiences if you're looking to get a fine dining taste at a reduced cost. Portions felt reasonable for the quality and left full (far from bursting, but definitely not hungry at all).

The hostess was welcoming, our waitress was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and the support staff kept everything running smoothly throughout the evening. We took several of our server's recommendations and were happy with every one. What we ordered: * Butter Service Garni * Dressed Big Rock Oysters * Yellowtail Crudo * Filet Mignon with Pommes Purée * Nutella Opéra Cake Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, the pommes purée were rich and incredibly smooth, and the Nutella Opéra Cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The only thing I'd mention is that the restrooms are located down a fairly long flight of stairs. If you're wearing heels, have a stroller, or have mobility limitations, it's something to be aware of. Overall, this was a fantastic experience with excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I'd gladly return and would recommend Quality Bistro to anyone looking for an upscale French dining experience.

We started with the kale salad (although it seemed more like spinach than kale), and it was still fresh and delicious. The tomato burrata was outstanding--definitely a must-order! I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the French onion burger, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'll be ordering next time--it was incredible! The cocktails were made perfectly, and to finish, we shared the lemon ice cream cake. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet--the perfect ending to a great meal. Everything from the food to the drinks and exceptional service made this a wonderful dining experience. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
