Had reservations for 2 on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We got there about three minutes late, but they seated us within 5 minutes in a booth. It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I got myself delicious sunny side up eggs with the pastrami hash. I was impressed by the chunks of pastrami throughout. Very hearty and very delicious! My husband indulged in the Nova Benedict. I think i've been to the other location but this is a solid brunch spot. The french toast bread itself looked more like banana bread texture. It was pretty sweet and there's berries + berry compote on top to make it even sweeter. I got the pan-seared fish sandwich with gluten free bread. So good. I had trouble figuring out the dipping sauces I liked. We were able to snag a booth for two on a Saturday at lunch with under a 5 mins wait. The place is super inviting with spacious windows and high ceilings and plants which make it feel airy while the wood made it warm and natural. The booth was comfortable. Our server was outstanding. She was funny, attentive, and very helpful. They're easily able to accommodate gluten free (my friend has a severe gluten allergy). This was my second time at Friedman's and definitely will not be my last! Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the wonderful staff. We had a huge reservation for my whole family, and they were able to accommodate us in the back room on a long long table. Didn't wait long at all, and the waitstaff was very friendly! The potato hash was fried nicely, could've used a bit more salt, but nothing a little ketchup couldn't fix. Our server mentioned the $10 mimosas, so of course, we had to try them. They were just ok, with extremely small portions. I also would have preferred other juice options for the mimosa besides orange juice. There is no kids menu but there was plenty to choose from. My son had Mac and cheese bites from the app menu, for example. One thing to just know is that the restrooms are not gender specific. There's one restroom with several stalls for all patrons. This in theory doesn't bother us, we're accepting of whatever you want to do or whoever you are. The lemon ricotta pancakes are also tasty. They forgot to give us syrup and then when they brought us syrup, they didn't give us enough. That was a little annoying. I also feel that the syrup is very watery and doesn't have a great thick consistency so it soaks right into the pancake. You can taste the lemon inside, which is really unique. The homemade banana bread was yummy so I didn't try any of the strawberry. I don't know that it's worth $15, that feels a little exorbitant. We had a lovely waitress who was funny and charming, and add added to the experience. I love the interior inside this place. You feel like you're back in time somewhere. We started with the guac and chips - the guac itself was delicious, especially after squeezing in some extra lime (the more lime, the better!). Unfortunately, the gluten-free chips were a letdown.
