We went here for breakfast while in New York with a friend. Got to sit outside, which was great. It was an awesome day, a little cool, but it was beautiful in the street. Actually quite quiet even though you're on the street. Our waitress was great, and took our order pretty quickly. As it was breakfast, the only drinks we got were coffee and juices and water. But all were wonderful. My wife and I split the avocado toast, which was perfect. Fantastic flavors, and a really good size portion that was just the right amount. Our friend got a vegetable medley, which was really yummy as well. Overall, fantastic staff, fantastic food, and such a gem on Hells kitchen. Would definitely recommend
In Common NYC was a total last-minute find for my husband and me, and one of those rare "we got lucky today" moments. I was coming back from a client meeting and he had a break between work calls, so we met here on the fly. We somehow walked in without a line, which I now understand is not the norm at all. The food really surprised us in the best way. I had the avocado toast with a side of scrambled eggs and a London fog latte. My husband had a flat white and the ricotta toast with figs, which was easily the standout for me--I'd go back just for that. The table next to us ordered French toast and I genuinely regretted not having more space to try it. Service was friendly, quick, and helpful without overdoing it. The space is bright and comfortable, with big windows that make it feel open and airy even when it fills up. There's also outdoor seating, which we'll definitely try next time. It's now on the short list of places I already want to return to--hopefully with kids in tow and maybe just as much luck with the line.
This is a team and client favorite for breakfast right near a lot of Hudson Yards office space! Staff is always very friendly and both the food/coffee are top notch. Typical favorites are the yogurt bowl and avocado toast (attached photo for latest all day menu options and pricing). Pro tip- great storage/packing to-go options, so keep in mind if you're on the way to work and need to bring something in. Always speedy in a pinch.
Been having coffee to much, decided I need to switch it up and matcha was the correct choice. Whenever im near the area I alway swing by here for that morning coffee, but getting the matcha today was the right choice. The balance between the grassiness of the matcha combined with the creaminess of the milk and the sweetness blended together nicely. There's always a friendly atmosphere there and a line of people waiting for orders, but the service is quick.

I wasn't sure there would be table service based on photos and reviews I spied previously, but yes-there is. The owner was running the show and he has a lovely Australian accent. The menu is not overwhelming and there are enough options for whatever you might want. It's not a huge space and can get a little tight...so maybe don't bring a pile of luggage with you. Take out counter is busy as well. Coffee was hot and strong. I would have ordered another cup, but didn't have the opportunity. Solid reviews on the "eggs Bene"; I enjoyed my scrambled eggs with sourdough toast, salad and an add on of chicken apple sausage. I'd definitely grab a meal here again.

I came in around 12pm in a Tuesday, and there's no wait. The place was cutely decorated. The Shakshuka was very good - not impressively good, but very good. I think the flavor could have a bit more variety, comparing to some other shakshukas I've had in other cities, but the eggs were surely boiled to the perfect temperature & texture. Avocado on the side was very fresh. Iced latte was, uhh, iced latte. The taste of the beans were on the bitter side, but it somewhat tasted watery; bitter and watery made kind of a weird combo. If you really do want to order coffee here, I'd recommend hot coffee instead of anything iced. The food price was very decent for the taste. I think coffees were overpriced for the quality. There were some outdoor seatings. Seemed it would be nice during a warmer day.

The menu is impressively eclectic and interesting, with Manhattan prices -- expect to pay around $30 per person. But here's the best part: the food absolutely delivers. The quality, presentation, creativity, and skill are all A++. I highly recommend the ricotta toast with fig -- it's simply outstanding. Their barista is also very skilled (see pics). All in all, this is a must-try if you're near Penn Station and want genuinely great food made by people who clearly care and take pride in their work. Easily one of the best spots in the area. I'll definitely be back!
We were walking downtown looking for the rhinos... and walked past this place. Taylor had not eaten lunch yet, so we stopped in. What a nice surprise. Service was great. Food arrived quickly. We were there at the end of business, but he sat us and just requested we order right away. That worked perfectly with our schedule. Richard had the avocado toast, which he said was one of the best made (all avocado, nothing added to take away from it).
I did not eat here only did take out for coffee. That is a downside to this place. If you want to grab a to go coffee but want to sit and enjoy it for a little bit there is no where to sit here. It is only dine in for people who want to sit. As I was ordering my coffee I saw some food come out of the kitchen and wow it all looked very good. I am going to try and come back here one day to try the food out for breakfast/ brunch. When I came in I was greeted by a guy who maybe was the manager? He was very nice and asked how my morning had been going and we got to talking a little bit. I got an iced latte it was ok a bit on the strong side for my liking. And a bit too milky or something. I can't really pin point what I didn't really like about it.
The place is well designed. The food was excellent, especially the shakshuka. Most of all, the service was excellent! The staff was attentive and engaging. One can tell that the business treats the staff well. One of the waitresses, Blanche, was extremely nice. If you're ever in NYC, you should hit this place up!
This is my second time eating breakfast here. Last year when I came for NY Toy fair I had breakfast, so of course this year I had to come back. The ricotta toast was melt in your mouth delicious. I also loved the breakfast sandwich. If you are here for the convention center, then def stop by at grab breakfast at In Common!

Absolutely love this little spot! My friend and I have been here twice within a week because the food was just that good. Such a cute, cozy café vibe. My kids loved it too. My son said they have the best eggs he's ever had. I had the eggs bene both times, my friend had the French toast both times. We tried the beet salad as well to share. Everything tastes fresh, the portions are perfect and it was delicious. Jacklyn (sorry if I'm misspelling) was our waitress both times and is an absolute gem. So friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and she was wonderful with my kids. All the other employees we interacted with were welcoming and helpful as well. The owner was also extremely nice and took a few moments to chat with us after our meal. We found this place completely by chance and it's already become one of our favorite breakfast/brunch spots in the city. And the coffee is SO good. We had one there (I had an iced mocha and my friend had an iced latte), and we both took another to go! I found the prices to be very decent for where it is in NYC. Definitely a new go-to! read more

If it wasn't for the outdoor seating I would have not noticed. I'm so glad I walked it to check it out. It is a breakfast and brunch very modern cafe with Australian and American selections. The menu is so interesting because their selections are different. I tried the Chicken Katsu which had shredded cabbage, tonkatsu sauce, potato bun. The bread was amazing, I didn't have potato bun.It was so good, I wanted to go back after work and get another one. So fresh and tasty! I also ordered a side of avocado that had very lightly spritzed with olive oil and a spice. The person I dined with had shakshuka . I had a bite and it was amazing!! I had a mocha latte and it was amongst the best I had. Everything I noticed, ,comes out, precisely put together and blended well. Their presentation on their dishes are amazing.. The service is very attentive and quick. It is on the smaller side but if there is a wait it is worth it. They greet you in and going out. Very nice modern but simple and cute. I loved the atmosphere and waitresses was very nice and accommodating also let me know all ingredients fresh and local. Im already ready to return and try another amazing selection from the menu. Went for Sunday breakfast. Wait time was maybe 10 minutes for party of 2. Loved the ambiance - bright and airy. Music was a nice touch. Food was flavorful and colorful. Plated beautifully. My friend had a little crush on the friendly and welcoming handsome dude with the man bun/ponytail - assuming he was the manager or owner. read more

We were able to get in and out of this cafe very quickly due to their no computer/tablet rule and really efficient staff. It was perfect for a breakfast on a time crunch before leaving the city. We saw a line form while we were eating, but arrived with a group of 4 around 9am on a Sunday and were seated right away. Very cute, minimal and modern atmosphere and decor. We were greeted at entry and thanked at exit multiple times. My group got a range of items. The poached eggs in the shakshuka were cooked perfectly. I ordered the eggplant katsu sandwich, and was very pleased with how crispy the eggplant was! Their cold brew was very dark and concentrated, which is not my preference but my partner was happy with it, especially because the serving is pretty small (same size cup as the iced latte pictured in this post). They only have honey, simple syrup, and vanilla as cold drink sweeteners. read more

This is a popular breakfast/brunch spot with long wait lines, especially on weekend mornings FYI! My party was seated outside and service was fine, but food wasn't outstanding in my opinion. We ordered the ricotta toast (popular for the aesthetics), smoked salmon tartine, and shakshuka. Nothing tasted bad, but again, it wasn't worth the long line in my opinion. However, it is a cute spot if you want a brunch more for vibes! read more

Deliciousness! Came here last Sunday for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. It was crowded but we were seated within 5 minutes. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I had the pancakes, steak and eggs, French fries, and a moca warm beverage. 10s for everything. The pancakes were fluffy, and so filling. The only critic I would have is we wanted the steak medium and it was served to us - well done but it was still good. I'll definitely be back. read more

Heard great things about this spot, and it was good! Popped in for some brekky before walking the city. The lattes were super strong, and the food was good. We sat outside in the cold so we wouldn't have to wait, but if you want to sit inside it quite a wait. Breakfast sandwich - YAY! Soft scramble eggs - okay. Came by for breakfast on a weekday and it was packed! Given the location, I'm going to assume it's often busy. I ended up sitting outside, which was covered with umbrellas. I ordered the ricotta toast ($18) and an iced oat latte ($7.50). Both were delicious, though I do not think the toast is worth $18. Overall, I would come back to grab coffee to-go, but probably not to sit down and eat due to the crowds and limited seating. read more
Nice interior, with a decent amount of seating. Small menu but it has some great options. I went for the avocado toast and added a few eggs. I felt it very tasty! The black drip coffee was also nice. I'm not a big breakfast person but I am for this place. I walked by here during the week and the ambiance looked nice so I thought I'd give it a chance. The staff was incredibly friendly immediately upon walking in. I was able to be seated immediately which just seems to be because I came I'm at an odd time. I imagine earlier in the morning that it will be very busy. The food was delicious. I wish I had this place closer to where I'd live because I'd be here frequently, which honestly is better fir my waist line. On top of that, the staff was so friendly. Went here for a last minute brunch on Sunday morning There was a wait time of course but staff was super efficient and kind and gave us regular updates. Menu is pretty small and not overwhelming which I appreciated I got the shakshuka and honestly this is my least favorite shakshuka I've ever had but that's just my personal preference My friends all got different things but they seemed to share the opinion the food was ok not amazing. Giving this 4 stars because the service and cafe were nice but I probably wouldn't go again for the food read more

In Common NYC is hands down one of the best hidden gems in the entire Tri-State area. I came in with no expectations, and left absolutely blown away, not just by the food, but by the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Tass, who personally introduced himself and informed us of the wait time. That level of hospitality immediately set the tone. And while there was a bit of a wait, don't let that deter you, it's more than worth it. The interior ambiance is cozy yet modern, with thoughtful details that make you feel right at home. I came with a group of friends, and we began our brunch with a round of drinks: chamomile tea and chai lattes (both iced and hot) each one was perfectly brewed and full of flavor. From there, we basically sampled the entire menu, and I have zero regrets. Every dish was crafted with care and packed with flavor. Highlights included the avocado toast, the shakshuka, the Bene, French toast, and the scrambled eggs, each plate better than the last. I wrapped it all up with a refreshing green tea that was the perfect end to the meal. If I lived in NYC, In Common would 1000% be my go-to cafe. A huge thank you to the kind, attentive staff and to Tass for making this brunch so memorable. Incredible food, warm service, and a vibe that's hard to find, what more could you ask for? read more

Do not go here if you have any dietary restrictions. I'm allergic to eggs and want to get the breakfast sandwich with out egg. The server said absolutely not and that they don't allow any restrictions. I then tried to order three sides and she said absolutely not again that each person needs to order a main meal. Even though all my sides would equal a higher amount than one of the main courses. She then said I had to order berries and cream or granola...even though I don't like sweets. This is absolutely Ridiculous and I will never come back to the restaurant again. How can I not order a sandwich which cost $15 dollars without basically the sandwich ..the egg that I'm allergic too. She also said that it says no food substitution on the menu and it definitely does not. Absolutely awful read more

Is this a coffee shop also good for sitting down to do work and is there wi-fi?
No laptops allowed as the space is too small. But the quick service, great food, wonderful clean/cozy atmosphere, and pleasant staff make it very worthwhile!
