Sadly it's so run down. All the tables are *Very* shaky, the seats are torn (you're sitting on the padding, not the leather cover - that's how bad it is!) Food tastes like it's air fryer food - and there's a very limited menu (not vegetarian friendly) and somehow nothing was really even hot?? Can't speak for the alcoholic drinks, but the non alc ones were SO bad. Service isn't the best either. The High Note was such a low key chill spot. It has a dim lighting, eclectic-ish vibe that feels relaxed and cool, with tasty drinks and simple (small menu) but good food. We ordered the French 75 and the Blueberry Capri Sun, and both were delicious. They were well made, balanced in flavor, and especially enjoyable for their happy hour prices. We also got the garlic parmesan fries, and honestly, I might go back just for those. They were covered in garlic parm seasoning and came with a side of garlic parmesan dipping sauce. I could swim in that sauce. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even offered us free shots, which was super generous and nice. Came here for some drinks with a friend before a late dinner. They have a longer lasting happy hour from 5pm-8pm so we partook in that. This consisted of $8 well drinks, $2 off all drafts and cocktails, and $8 shot and beer. I tried the Matcha Peno (jalapeno infused tequila, lime, agave, matcha) and Tea Time (black tea infused bourbon, lemon, simple, ginger beer) cocktails and both tasted good. The I didn't taste much of the matcha in the matcha drink since the jalepeno taste took over but otherwise it was good. They also work together with the burger place next door, Popchew, for food which includes burgers, fries, wings, and mozzarella sticks. Food and drinks are all ordered at the bar. read more

Stopped by for a private event for my daughter and the cast of Ainadamer that performed at the Met Opera. It's a fun little spot with a classic old bar and a separate event room. The bartenders were super friendly and helpful even though the place was packed. While we had already eaten, we got some wings and fries, which went perfectly with our cocktails and beers. When you said they give you a menu however, you have to order at the bar. I was waiting for a friend to meet me for an event we were going to, so I ordered a drink, a burger, no bun and a side of fries the bartender recommended. I order the happiest meal to save a couple dollars for my drink. I ordered the blue Capri Sun no simple syrup. It was absolutely amazing. The fries were crinkle, cut and crispy and the burger was delicious and the secret sauce was so good. I ordered my drink, a blue capri sun hi my friend got the Matcha Peno and loved it. Definitely leans to a younger crowd but was just happy to find a spot with AC and comfortable seating! I want to be clear, this 1 star review is solely because of the bouncer whose name is Will. I have never left a bad review before but I was so upset by the treatment we received tonight. My sister and her friend had their birthday party here but because the reservation was under her friend's name instead of hers he gave us attitude and said in a condescending tone that we were wrong for saying both of their names because the reservation was only under one name. It's not that serious dude but ok. He then told my sister and her friend that they could only request one song all night even though the entire bar was filled with their friends and the music was being played off an iPad and not an actual DJ. Later in the night the person playing music on the iPad invited us to add songs to the queue and we happily did so. This person was incredibly friendly and this review does not reflect him at all. Once the bouncer Will saw we had requested some songs he went out of his way to come up to us and point to me, my husband, and our friend and say "1, 2, 3, don't f'ing touch my equipment". Let it be known there were maybe 30 people at the bar at this time and 20 of them were part of our group. Also, we were told we could request songs by the staff so why are we now being yelled at? This man has a huge power trip just because he checks IDs at the door at a bar. He also used a racial slur when speaking about my husband and was escalating a situation just because we added a few songs to the queue of an iPad which is so silly. We came here to have a good time and just relax but from the beginning the bouncer was so hostile and had this oedipus complex that just killed the vibe. High note is a great bar to casually pop in and enjoy a couple happy hour drinks while having casual catchups with friends. It boasts a cozy atmosphere, as the hosts are constantly adjusting and dimming the lights as the night rolls in. There's sometimes a DJ in the corner of the room mixing and playing records. As someone who enjoys vinyl, this adds a different kind of vibe to any bar. While it's great to have variety and new options, I am a little saddened by the fact that the Happy Hour menu is rotating. The last time I visited I enjoyed a delicious Cosmopolitan cocktail that didn't reek of alcohol but also did the job in getting me shmoozed. I was disappointed that it was gone and opted for a Tequila grenadine cocktail on sale instead, which didn't quite hit the spot for me the same way. I thought the lavender espresso martini was just okay--I have yet to find a heavy hitter drink that I'm willing to drop the big bucks on. I can see why this place does not have great reviews. My friend and I walked into this place for quick drinks as we enjoyed the vibe initially and they were playing Taylor Swift throwback songs. My friend got an espresso martini and I got a gin based cocktail to get started. The drinks were too sweet and had very little alcohol. The place had younger crowd and good music however it was just like any other bar. There was nothing outstanding or unique about this place! We pretty much left in like 30 mins!
