Get the chive talk martini if you like savory snacks. I was initially unsure of the sour cream in it, but it was tart and tangy and so refreshing. They also had a live DJ at night and a great vibe for a girls night.

Cocktails: Pink Pony, Golden Girl, Mojito My party of 4 made a reservation since we wanted to go to their $1 oyster happy hour until 7pm. It was decently crowded, but after we got sat and had our first round of oysters, a spot opened up outside and we got moved and then ordered our second round of oysters since it was a beautiful summer day (there is a maximum of 12 oysters per person). The oysters were delicious, would definitely recommend and the cocktails were quite unique. My cocktail was like a slushie and was delicious especially since it was warm outside.

Great place in LES for happy hour -- buck-a-shuck and drinks. It can get crowded due to the size of the restaurant. Great music and crowd if you're bar hopping

Who knew an oyster bar by day turns to a helluva party at night. I don't know about the food that's served during the day but the cocktails and vibes at night is where it's at. We came on a Saturday night, and it was crowded. I didn't think they would let us in even to hang around the bar area and we were a party of five. After 10 minutes of waiting at the bar, we got a tiny little table for our cute party. It's tight but enough wiggle room to stand and dance from where you are sitting. I had a matcha cocktail and it was might tasty. I always steal a sip at every cocktail at the table and none of them made me make a face of disgust. Right behind me, the DJ was spinning songs with words and the speaker blasting in my ear. I don't think there is really a dance floor but the party goers make the most of the tiny space in the middle of the room.

I have an amazing experiencee here, no matter what! Lena, Hugo, and Winnie are truly the epitome of hospitality, and I always feel welcomed!! The cocktail menu is also super well-crafted and they offer popcorn as soon as you are seated (have convinced hungry friends to go this way). The bartop is crushed copper which I am also obsessed with !!

Energy! That's what pulled us into Bar Belly. We had dinner plans nearby, but the vibe and energy here convinced us to stop in for a quick cocktail -- and we're so glad we did! The interior is bigger than it looks from the outside, with plenty of room for any size group. It was a nice evening, and we were lucky to snag an outdoor small table for two right away. The staff greeted us with water and a bowl of delicious popcorn seasoned with black pepper -- such a great touch. For cocktails, we ordered an Old Fashioned (Wild Turkey Bourbon, demerara, bitters), and I got the $18 Pink Pony (Pueblo Viejo tequila, strawberry, Giffard banana, lime -- frozen). Both were excellent and very fairly priced, though happy hour prices don't look bad. We also shared the $14 Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket (four wagyu beef franks wrapped in buttery puff pastry), and they were absolutely scrumptious. We ate them slowly just to make them last! Overall, we'd definitely come back to try the full menu, but honestly, with the cocktails and those pigs in a blanket alone, we'd already be more than satisfied.

I think their happy hour deal here is pretty good! I like the vibe inside and think this is a great place to start the night. Their oysters were a bit small but they are $1 so you can't really complain. Service was fast and happy to explain drinks/recommendations.

Positives: Yummy cocktails, free popcorn, $1 oyster happy hour, tater tots during happy hour were a good shareable, kind service Negatives: Portions for some items like the deviled eggs are small (3 for $12), the pizza was not good... it kind of tasted like Trader Joe's Frozen Margherita Pizza

Changed the whole trajectory of our night, maybe even our lives. From the moment we walked in, the hostess sought us out and there was one table for 4 in the back. Vibes, music and did I mention FREE truffle popcorn and water were all immaculate. No notes. Would go back in a heart beat. Might even be our new home base in the city. We love you, bar belly!

Stumbled upon bar belly while walking back from dinner in the area. The interior was quite cozy but bustling with a live DJ playing. We got a punch bowl, which was perfect for our group of five. It saves you a trip from having to order again at the bar and we all had more than one drink each. The only downside is that you can only get one flavor and it does not include every cocktail on the menu. We also thought the flame was a fun detail.

This spot is so cool! There's nothing super extraordinary about it but the ambiance and drinks were great. Upon walking in the host had a very laidback but welcoming vibe and we were seated behind the bar where the space was romantic and you could people watch through the window as well as they had hooks available for coats/bags. We ordered the Mucha Chicha, La Lupe and Cab Sauv which were tasty. Oh and they give a cute bowl of seasoned popcorn which was a fun touch! The music was good, bathrooms were clean. I'd definitely come back!

Just a beautiful space. I think bar belly felt the most like a neighborhood cocktail bar of all the spaces I visited in New York. A laid back, simple spot where you can visit and feel right at home. It is not flashy, it is not over the top, just a well put together space that puts you at ease. The menu is really nice. I ran with an invisible woman and it was superb. A super light, clarified cocktail that you can absolutely crush. It is slightly tart, sweet, and just a bit savory. I told the bartender this as well: I loved it was served with a cube in the nick and nora. Most nick and nora drinks are served up but I think the cube really elevated this drink. The workers were awesome. The bartender chatted with me about temperature/ice. It is always nice when well respected industry professionals impart some wisdom. Another spot that puts a lot of attention to detail. It goes over looked for some, but the levels of meticulousness places like bar belly employ are exactly the kinds of things I look for.

Came here on a date and the ambiance is perfect for any kind of hangout. They have so many drink options and lots of small bites to share. I got the Invincible Woman and Dead Witch (espresso martini). Both drinks were very good but my favorite has to be the Dead Witch. It was so good that it converted me into an espresso martini girl. I definitely will return in the future. They have $1 oysters during happy hour, which is honestly an amazing deal! Can't wait for my next visit!

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. We walked into a space that combines old-world pub details with a more refined cocktail bar experience, the kind of setting that feels both lively and traditional. The multiple levels offered different moods, from the busy downstairs bar with its energetic crowd to the more relaxed upstairs seating area that encouraged a longer, slower visit, and the design of the room made it feel like a destination rather than just a quick stop for a drink. The drinks are the main attraction, with a strong focus on whiskey-based cocktails and classic Irish influences. We ordered a few options and found the cocktail menu creative without losing the character of the bar, each drink arriving thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The Guinness was another standout option for those looking for something more traditional, served with the care that a proper pint deserves. The food menu also added to the experience, with items like lobster deviled eggs, scotch eggs, fish and chips, and hearty Irish-inspired dishes that paired well with the drinks. The food was solid and complemented the bar's identity, making it easy to settle in for a longer visit with both drinks and snacks. The atmosphere can get extremely busy, especially around peak hours, and getting inside may require patience even with reservations. Once seated, however, the experience became much more comfortable, with attentive service and a setting that encouraged lingering over drinks. The team moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the visit kept the experience smooth without feeling rushed. We tried the yuzu contact and the ma-chet baker, and the ma-chet baker was definitely our favorite. It tasted just like a matcha latte, and I liked the bits of gen maicha in it. It wasn't very strong however. The yuzu contact was also very light and citrusy.

The tea was strong and fragrant - it is on the sweeter side, a bit like dessert, so i had to pair it with water, but it was still yummy and would recommend yuzu contact - this was alright! Typical yuzu but ive had better ones - personally feel like the yuzu can be brighter and a bit sweeter rating: 4/5 - the drinks were all good but nothing particularly stood out except for the hojicha colada - the vibe and the music really brought up my rating though! It was such a cute, cozy, intimate spot for dates - small speakeasy with only a few seats, similar to bars in japan; it's one of those japanese listening bars and i love it - there was light jazz in the background, not too loud that i had to shout - the mood was perfect; I couldn't stop staring at the interior decor and immerse myself in this little cozy corner - service was super quick, nothing much to note IG: @nom.noms.only

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I love the clever and compact bathroom design, too. IYKYK Long live Apotheke!

Fifteen years later and Apotheke is still one of my favorites!…read more You will walk past this hidden speakeasy several times before finding it. I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!
