It's pretty generic Mediterranean restaurant with a nice interior. I wouldn't say there were any stand out dishes from the selection we tried. They have a small selection of mocktails--the floral shandy was light, citrusy, with a subtle taste of the N/A beer. The pastas were just fine. Of the two we ordered, the rigatoni and the mafaldine, the rigatoni had the far superior sauce. The service was pleasant but I wish the server had been l more attentive to our table. She didn't even check in once our food arrived and forgot to pace out our course (or forgot to put the order in for the lamb tartar) so we were juggling hot pasta with a cold appetizer. The tiramisu was incredibly bland. It was again, "just fine," but it wasn't tiramisu. The cream hadn't set and the coffee liquor (?) was a overpowering. read more

The one thing I noticed right away was the nice decor, even downstairs in the restroom. Hopefully, we'll get a seat in the speakeasy next time - there was a private event when we were there. Just a warning, the portions are small, but everything tasted excellent. Lastly, the service was great. Our server was so patient with our questions about the menu. Stumbled on this place with a former friend and had the best crab ceviche. Went back here a few weeks after on a date and really enjoyed the dish again. A month ago, I raved about this one dish and met up with my gf and it was just okay. My friend and I both looked at each other and wondered if there was something wrong with our taste buds. I arrived first and they asked us to wait in the lounge until our entire party arrived. Wished we could have sat at the table as the entire restaurant was not even occupied at 12pm on a Friday. It seemed odd to have us wait at the bar or up front. But, the seats up front were comfortable and we caught up with each other while we all arrived and then were able to be seated. Ordered the entire starters sips and pita, and some other apps and each ordered an entree. The vegan stuffed shells were pretty and delicious, fresh tasting. The chopped salad could have been more substantial but we were offered chicken to be added and declined. My husband's salad came with the chicken and it was an entire, beautiful crispy paillard that I shared some of. Beautifully crisp but moist. And my friend and I split the swordfish kebab and couscous, which I wished had two kebabs. It was a plate that was lighter than expected. What a fun and beautiful new spot! We tried a few of the dips, Caesar salad and the lamb chops. We absolutely loved the burrata, the broccolini and the cocktails. Hubby enjoyed the octopus. My friends and I came in for brunch last Saturday. Nice ambiance, good vibe, decent food and great service. We start off with Black Garlic Hummus which I am still graving for it, so good. The Caesar Salad with Chicken was refreshing, Lamb Panini and Grilled Swordfish Club were delicious as well. We also got a side order of Za'atar Steak Fries. Our server, Rosé, was excellent and gave the best recommendations. We started with the baba ghanoush (5/5), jumbo lump crab ceviche (3.5/5), and char-grilled octopus (4/5). The seafood was a little underwhelming since it lacked freshness. I was excited to try the pork shank shawarma as a shared entree - loved that it melted off the bone but disappointed that the crust was overly fried, it was too difficult to cut through or chew (3.5/5). Finished off our meal with an amazing olive oil semolina cake (5/5) - if i could have this every night, trust me i would. The cocktails were flavorful and not overly sweet: Kiss the Ring (5/5) & Pepino Fizz (4/5). My boyfriend and I have dined at Leonetta a total of four times now and we have yet to be disappointed. This place just gets it right. I'll start with the ambience. It's upbeat and modern, warm and inviting. Every detail from the plants, to the wallpaper, to the beautiful stoneware dishes and servers' colorful floral aprons has been well-thought out and aligns with the entire vibe of the space. Service is always on point starting from the moment you are greeted at the host stand. We have had meals both at the bar and in the dining room area and every server and bartender has been wonderful - attentive, friendly, always with a good recommendation. Cocktails are on point. My favorite is the Italo Disco and my boyfriend always gets the It's Armani. But honestly all the drinks are delicious. Food: black garlic hummus and beetroot tzatziki are a must for starters. The homemade warm focaccia is also amazing. Top hits for mains are the black truffle mafaldine and orecchiette for pastas, beef and mushroom kebab and swordfish steak for land/sea. It is a little cramped but not to a point of distraction. It provides the true NY experience as you feel you are part of your neighbors conversation. The service was friendly, helpful, and informative. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with their signature beetroot tatzhiki which was fantastic. The pita they serve was taste and fluffy. Honestly, I had higher expectations but a few areas missed the mark for us. Cocktails were not special, and we are charged $1 for a large rock, which in all the ridiculous up charges I've seen this is out there (not about the price but more so, why?!) We ordered 2 dips, lump crab ceviche, octopus, salad, and dorade, and none of it was overwhelmingly tasty. In fact the server forgot our salad, but charged us anyway, then proceeded to disappear for the night (sent a proxy it seems). Lastly, none of the buss team asked to take our plates, while we still had food leftover. Overall, service, quality no where near justified the price which was practically a $200 meal. We wanted to order the appetizers first and our waiter Ben told me (quite short) that their kitchen did not want to separate the orders and we had to order everything together. I never experienced this challenge in any other restaurant before. My friend ordered a margarita and I did not want to drink alcohol so I ordered a virgin margarita. He was not willing to take that order and suggested a lemonade instead. So, two challenges already before we even ordered our food. Already set a bad tone for the dinner. Couldn't enjoy any of our food because we were practically sitting on top of the 2 groups next to us. Would like to note that the rest of restaurant was EMPTY. They CHOSE to seat us all on top of each other. Won't even comment on the food because as I stated, it was overshadowed by the fact I was sitting on a strangers lap. The 2 managers walked around the restaurant the entire time, can't imagine they didn't see how frustrated everyone in the area was and did nothing about it. It's tough to decide between 4 and 5 stars for this spot, so let's pretend that I rated them at a 4.5 star. You MUST order the black garlic hummus and the house made focaccia (and then combine the whipped ricotta with said hummus for an added bonus). While the oysters and brick chicken were amazing, I thought the lamb orecchiette was just alright. There's also a stunning bar downstairs with a beautiful fireplace. Had Leonetta, and can say that they have the goods. While I'm not the biggest fan of raw seafood, I ventured to try the Seafood tower for the adventure and while I liked a few of the options, they were kind enough to check in and take my feedback on what I did and didn't like. I imagine for a bigger fan of raw seafood this is a must have. I feel bad because they were so kind and considerate and open to feedback as they are just opening. I got the Brick Chicken which was phenomenal and somehow heavy and rich but still light on its feet. My girlfriend got the tuna steak and loved it. The portions are amazing and nothing breaks the bank at all. They even gifted us a tiramisu for her birthday, which made our night! What stands out most about this place is the service and the ambiance above all. The vibes are immaculate and comforting and cool. Everyone is super friendly and pleasant and Amanda is an amazing leader who was kind enough to check in so many times and offer more than enough hospitality. Stopped by impromptu for brunch. They graciously seated us in a corner table with our toddler. The interior is gorgeous!!! Love having something like this in the neighborhood.
