I'd have to go back n try some of their real menu but based on today's cinco de Mayo celebration menu I'd say they were probably pretty solid at a decent price; Grubhub had a place called "cinco de Mayo and when I rolled up to pick up, I looked up... and down and around until I realized Natureworks was one in the same serving up tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas. I splurged, Grubhub issued a 40% off coupon for the menu so I couldn't resist- $21 for four tacos and enchiladas- all were pretty decent and a nice size. read more

Wowee! Love Evas X Cinco de Mayo! We wanted some Mexican food on a Saturday night and found a menu from Eva's in the pile - not sure where it came from. Called and ordered the old school way, by phone; the order was taken efficiently, packaged well and delivered quickly. The food was delicious and the flavors were great. We had the Birria tacos (awesome) and a chicken quesadilla. They even included mini carrot muffins. Prices are reasonable. Great work Eva's! Will definitely be ordering from you again. I'm not sure what the earlier reviews are referring to about a ghost kitchen--I walked into the restaurant and it was very much real. Eva's is an affordable, lowkey Mexican/health-food joint in Kips Bay. Their main items are tacos/quesadillas/nachos/burritos/tostadas, which you can customize based on meat and fillings. The menu is pretty clear and straightforward. They also offer "power bowls," smoothies, and other healthy options. I ordered the quesadilla with pollo asado, which comes with sour cream, salsa verde, pico de gallo, and lettuce on the side. The quesadilla itself was pretty good and a decent portion, about what you would expect from a NYC mexican joint. The pico, however, was basically just corn and tomatoes. The salsa verde was good but nothing amazing. Overall the quesadilla was a 4/5, couldve been bumped up if the sides were better. I also ordered the sweet potato fries, which weren't great. They were a bit soggy and unseasoned (I was hoping for salt at least). Dipped in the salsa verde, they weren't too bad. The fries were probably a 1.5/5. I forgot to take advantage of this offer, but my friend informed me that you get a free drink (water, soda, etc.) with every entree order, so that's an added benefit. I ordered the turkey burger pizza style since it sounded interesting? I was tired of eating salads (I eat a salad at least once a week). The turkey burger was larger than I expected. The turkey was not dry and pretty juicy. However, the pizza marinara sauce was a bit bland. There was a lot of cheese though. I did like that it was in a pita bread instead of a hamburger bun since it's healthier. The staff were friendly and fast. I would come back and try their smoothies. Today, I had the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde with a side of rice and black beans. The chicken was tender and juicy, the verde was clearly fresh and home-made, and the black beans were smooth and rich tasting. The quantities were good, probably more than I should have had for lunch, but.... It's a take-out place, so don't expect much ambiance. It was clean and fresh, so you wouldn't mind eating in. This is long overdue but Natureworks is awesome and feeds me multiple times per month. When you're trying to eat healthy without breaking the bank and want a variety to choose from, this is your place. I honestly have never had a bad dish from here. Plus, their food is always hot and is ready quickly when I pick up my orders and delivered quickly when I opt for delivery. My go-to is simply getting a side (or 2) of grilled chicken to bring home and eat with my own veggies and sweet potato. Their grilled chicken is incredible and is not loaded with oil and salt (or at least it doesn't taste like it is). Had a great experience here! Came in almost at closing time but they were super patient with me. My friend and I placed Ritual App orders as we arrived and they let us know they just got them and started on them right away. They asked if it was to stay or go and we said to stay as long as it was ok with them since they were able to close. They said it was not a problem and we didn't feel rushed at any point. The orders came out quickly and the portion sizes were great. Everything felt fresh and clean. I got a Mediterranean taco salad and my friend got one of their plates. They both were good but mine did lack a little flavor. Customer service over all was really excellent - checked in on us, brought everything over, packed up our leftovers for us, etc. The place itself isn't very nice - doesn't feel super clean and looks a little outdated, hence one less star. Continuing my review of health foods, Natureworks is clearly a step ahead of the rest. (See my Fuel review) Natureworks offers an affordable, fast food, healthy options. They offer an expansive menu with options ranging from $5-$15 depending on the portion size. Simple ingredients and a slightly higher quality of food than Fuel. There is a standard Protein Bakery section which tastes healthier (less sugar/chocolate) than its Fuel counterpart. Unique to Natureworks is the protein carrot cake. A must! Food is prepared relatively quickly ~10-15 minute wait depending on how busy it is. They also offer catering for work events. If in the Murray Hill / Kips Bay Area, and hungry for a good fast food option, look no further. Again I would recommend this over Fuel in terms of quality of food and healthier ingredients. Flavor and price are on par if not better. Not at the level of "grass fed" or "organic farm raised" meats for our bougier folk but still delicious! read more

Not so much a restaurant but really a great little hole in the wall place that dishes out healthy food options at affordable prices. A lot of the time healthy eating equates to bland eating, but not here. I can see myself hitting this place up more and more as I get my training in gear. The food was actually quite flavorful. Really big menu of food options from sandwiches in whole wheat pitas, burritos, salads, pizza, all-day breakfast, high energy protein plates, energy and protein shakes, soups, and snacks. This place has it all. There are monthly breakfast and lunch specials. For month of June there are discounts on breakfast and free sides with lunch sandwiches. I ordered the Ultimate Plate which consists of grilled chicken breast, brown rice, mixed steamed veggies, hummus, and a pita on the side. It is $10 but you get a lot of food here! Plus, it tasted pretty good and the chicken was not dry at all. Veggies were fresh and hummus was decent. Washed it down with a raspberry crystal light drink which is a pretty large cup for $1.99 - yum! So glad this place is only a few blocks from my office. Guys who work there were nice and the food was prepared quickly. Dining area is small and consists of a few high tables and chairs, and some counter space along the wall. Mainly I saw a lot of take out and delivery going on. Two women next to me were eating the pita sandwiches and they looked good. Then came my epiphany AHA moment...NATUREWORKS! Lets try it! Pulling up my handy dandy Seamless app, I went order crazy. I got the vegetarian chili, an order of hummus, and the "Lean and Ripped" high energy protein plate. All that for a measly $13! Not to shabby for a New York City dinner! Now for the food breakdown: Lean and Ripped plate- [Foodies, you can stop reading now. Health nuts, proceed.] This is your standard "clean eating" dish. If you're expecting over-the-top flavors and your tastebuds dancing and singing, it's not going to happen. What you get is white meat chicken pieces over a bed of steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and zucchini). It's plain tasting, but very filling. I'd order it again. Vegetarian Chili- If you've read any of my previous reviews, I'm extremely hesitant with vegetarian food items. I am a carnivore through and through but for some reason this menu item spoke to me. I ordered a size small and it was very filling and not overly salty like many soups are. It's more of a bean soup with that southern smokey taste to it, pretty solid. Hummus- The star of the meal. Seriously. Some of the BEST HUMMUS I've ever had. I was shocked. It tasted like they put insane amounts of tahini in it. If you're looking for a good, inexpensive, filling, and HEALTHY meal, this is your place. Their menu is massive and caters to all dietary needs for all meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! It's such a hole-in-the-wall that it can be missed in a second but it's almost as if its a 31st Street secret. Shh! NOW FOR THE UPDATE: I have upped Natureworks Restaurant's stars from four to five because I have ingested it so many times it is now a piece of my soul. Though I haven't reordered the Lean and Ripped plate, my go-to is OPEN SESAME! It is by far one of the more delicious healthy weeknight dinners I treat myself to every week or so. The first time I visited, I ordered the falafel in pita bread and some sweet potato fries to go. The falafels are very tasty and have a different texture typically associated with falafel. The pita was stuffed with tomato, cucumber, hummus, and lettuce. The sweet potato fries were good and there is nothing really special about them. However, my order came with a cup of red sauce. It was some sort of salsa and was very flavorful. I dipped my fries in this sauce and it really enhanced them. The second tome I visited, I ordered the Lazy Hustler Burrito Bowl to go. Wow! This was very good and very filling. I mixed everything together and it was an excellent medley of flavors. It also came with a side of pita bread. To top it off, they threw two mini Carrot Cake Muffins in my bag!! I will be sure to buy a large muffin next time I return because their carrot cake was very good, too! And I walk into the place and it got some gym like photos and not the cute, hipster place I imagined. Ordered an omelette with tofu and spinach. A salad. And falafel. Everything came plain with dressing and ketchup and bread on side. Definitely need the sauces to dress it up. All though not as expected, the place is perfect for a post workout stop. Seldom do I come to work without a lunch made at home, however on the few days that I don't have time, I like to find a healthy alternative and Natureworks popped up on my Yelp search as a healthy place near my place of work. Although there are so many conflicting opinions about the benefits of Yelp, I think it's an extremely useful tool and when used the right way, can be really great for business. I think the convenience of the application is wonderful, Natureworks has a link on their Yelp page that allows you to place an order for takeout or delivery. It makes the process of ordering your food so much easier. Especially for someone like me, I can place the order my phone and then it's ready to be picked up once I get to the restaurant. There are also some people who frown upon Yelp users and think they do not good for business. Although there are lots of people out there who write reviews that are in no way helpful, there are people who put in effort and hope their reviews are beneficial to others looking for a place to eat. So, when I walked into Natureworks to pick up my order that I placed through Yelp's website, I was offended by the laughs and smirks that were exchanged by the workers when I stepped forward and gave them my name for the take out order. I felt uncomfortable eating the food the entire time as they were staring at me exchanging smirks and couldn't hold back their laughter. It made me feel as though my food was tampered with because I am someone who writes Yelp reviews and it was a really shitty feeling. Even when I was leaving, they both could not hold back their laughs. Nobody else was being looked at like this, I was being observant of others who walked through the door. Call me paranoid, but it was very evident something about me in there was HILARIOUS. I tried to ignore it and enjoy my small sized baked chicken with vegetables, brown rice and hummus. Some would call the chicken bland and dry, but I prefer it that way because that means it is being loaded with salt and salt added dressings so the plain nature of the food worked well for me. The hummus was interesting, definitely unlike any hummus I have tasted before, but it was okay. After eating the small size, I felt sufficiently full and fell like I had eaten a healthy meal. I paid $10 and change for the meal and I thought that was reasonable. Rarely can you find a place that doesn't cook their vegetables in pads of butter and unhealthy oils so this place was a breath of fresh air in terms of healthy eating. Anything with eggs is made with egg whites only, most of the meat dishes are either turkey or chicken breast with salad. What caught my attention was they served breakfast sandwiches all day, and who can say no to that! I ordered the English muffin with 5 egg whites and choice of meat (I went with turkey). Came out to be about $8.20, which isn't bad at all. Sandwich was prepared in 10 minutes. I was extremely surprised at he heftiness of it. Love the idea of a fast casual restaurant focused on healthy alternatives to the usual garbage, however Natureworks just doesn't really do It for me. I've only had It for delivery to the office since I've joined in with a few coworkers when they put in an order. Their large variety of foods they offer is always interesting, so I've given some things a try. The few times I've had It, I've gone with a chicken focused dish and every time I just finish feeling blah about It. Yes, I got my veggies and lean protein but I feel like It could just be better. The chicken in particular has always been so, so dry. And today It wasn't just me, the two others with me complained about how dry their chicken was. Thankfully mine had sauce to help It out. Something about the consistency of the burger is off -- makes everything tastes like the texture of soft guacamole. Their guac also tastes like overly creamy, flavorless stuff from a plastic bag. Definitely edible and tastes healthy though if you're in a pinch and don't want to be a fatty mc fat fat. You can taste both the peanut butter and banana; no one item overpowered the other. The salad, on the other hand, wasn't all that great. I don't know if it lacked the dressing but it tasted bland. Multiple aluminum bits were found in the chocolate peanut butter delight smoothie (2nd pic) which is why I'm rating this place so poorly vs a 3/4 star for taste. Had to stop drinking the smoothie half way in because pieces were being spit out after every sip. I got the Farmers Market Protien Plate. Mmmmm warm cucumbers :P I thought I was adding the turkey burger along with the grilled chicken. Nope, only turkey burger; which is this substantially bizarre odd mix of processed food and texture. Have you ever been lied to by a vegan? I felt like that. It might have been turkey, may have very well been been soy turkey substitute. Spongy, soggy, salty, and a taste you can't quite put your finger on. The 5 egg whites on the bottom wasn't so bad, but I wonder how it got there. How did they cook it and still have it fit perfectly on the bottom of a throw-out plastic bowl. I really hope they didn't cook it in the plastic. I got a side of guacamole which was about as average of a guacamole it's starting to become a stereotype, I ate all of it regardless. I ordered through delivery.com and realized afterwards that I could have saved a buck ordering through seamless (surprisingly). I received my $13 order at my desk 1-1/2 hrs after ordering. But get this... I placed my order, a little later my co-workers asked what I was doing for lunch, I told them, they said, good idea we'll check it out. Two of my friends went there, ordered and came back to the office, ATE, used the washroom, and then talked about what they ate. AND THEN MINE ARRIVED LOL! Was it bad?
