Love the smoothies from Juice Generation. They're fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly, too, and there's a small counter inside for dining in. The only downside is, the smoothies are $10.83 each including tax. I wish they had a smaller size for cheaper, so I could go more frequently. Yesterday after a barre class, I got the Smooth Strawberry, which includes strawberries, banana, apple and frozen coconut milk. It was nice and smooth, and I liked the subtle flavor of the coconut milk. Will be back again to treat myself to a tasty drink :) read more

The staff is really friendly and after feverishly searching for a nearby juice bar, I was happy to have found them. I like to get something healthy and filling right after a race. I was able to park right out front, run in to order and pay for my drink and had it made to my specifications, thanks to the suggestions of the woman who prepared it for me. They use to be good years ago and I would still frequent them occasionally when in the area. However, this is the second time it's happened already and I can't deal with the incompetence! I usually order the supa dupa greens without celery and this is the second time they said ok at the register just to give me a blended juice with celery. Celery is so strong in flavor that if someone doesn't like celery, they can most certainly taste it in their drink when it's present. I for one, HATE celery and literally feel like i just wasted my money, again, on juice generation. I took a trip to Manhattan today to visit a friend, and I was craving something sweet, light, and fresh. So, I knew that stopping at a local fruit bar for an açaí bowl was a must. I ordered the aloha açaí bowl without bananas (I hate bananas) and it came with all sorts of delicious toppings like strawberries, kiwi, granola, coconut, and pineapple. It was definitely yummy and fresh tasting; however, it was not even close to being the best açaí in the city. TL:DR really nice customer service, but apathetic and somewhat inedible smoothie bowl. Ugh, Sadfac I loved Juice Generation the first time I came here, and the employees are all SOOO nice. Yet i still probably wouldn't come back and just opt for a smoothie at home. I paid $10.35+tax for an Aloha açai bowl. I asked for no granola or coconut as I just left the dentist, so I get if they dont want to add extra fruit. And it might look more sparse. However what I got was, under-ripe green mango- I would definitely get a stomach ate if I ate it, all of 2 super thin kiwi slices, and very under ripe, hard pineapple. I had to take the pineapple off as well, as I was avoiding very hard foods. The açai itself tasted good, but was very blah with now no toppings. The employees themselves were very courteous and friendly, however for some reason my order took much longer than anyone else's. Four *different* parties who ordered after me, received their orders first. I'm not sure why they made their orders first. At one point the cashier jumped in to help, and I was certain my order would be next- Nope! It was another person who ordered after me. At least there was a cute dog outside to look at. When I got home and saw my bowl, I was pretty disappointed. I sort of choose my smoothie places based on the standard set by red mango- a worker apologized to me for taking too long making my parfait- she was carefully picking the fruit as if it were her own meal. I'm not expecting that, but I would think such nice food service employees would not be apathetic to the fact they are giving inedible food to a real person, who spend ~$11 on it. Wanted a fresh smoothie so my friend and I decided to try out this place! I tried the Peanut Butter Split smoothie with almond milk because I wanted a smoothie with nut butter protein. It was pretty good taste-wise- super creamy and thick from the banana, however a little too peanut-buttery for me. I might've liked it if there was something else added like blueberries to kinda counter how heavy bananas + peanut butter are together. I was tempted to get a smoothie with almond butter or peanut butter but decided to get the Energy Kick instead. I was very satisfied with my drink! Came here and ordered a small juice. After paying, I realized there was a $1 difference to change it to a large. I asked to upgrade it. The cashier told me she refunded my old juice order, and charged me for a large. End of day later, I look at my credit card and there's a double charge on it. I go in the next day, and speak to a cashier about it and he told me that because it's the next day, there's nothing he can do about it and that charge has to stay. Juice Generation is probably one of my favorites, if not most favorite, smoothie place in NYC. I go to Pressed Juicery for all my cold-pressed juice needs, but for smoothies, it's here. Yes, it's a little costly as are most fresh smoothie places in the City that aren't full of sugar and other meh ingredients (Jamba Juice), but sometimes it's worth the little splurge. Service at this particular location was friendly and the drinks came out in reasonable time, given the amount of people waiting. The store is a bit small and can get really stuffy. The floors were also pretty dirty with trash... but I can overlook that since I'm only in and out. My go-tos here are the I (heart? love?) Watermelon (watermelon + berries), for a refreshing, light, and fruity drink especially during the hot summers and the Green Guardian (avocado, chia, flax, hemp, spinach, strawberries, and swiss chard) for something a little more filling as as a snack. All their smoothies can be had with hemp or almond milk. You can also choose to add a sweetener such as agave, but make sure you specify how much - my drinks have varied in sweetness. Smoothies are pretty $$$ (and so are juices), but if you think about it, your fancy coffee could probably cost you almost as much, with less substance. read more

I'm pretty much a creature of habit and so I'll get the same smoothie: Peanut Butter Split- all-natural peanut butter with omega-3s from flax oil blended with organic soy or almond milk, banana & frozen coconut milk How awesome does that sound right now? Sometimes I'll switch it up and get the Protein buzz - your choice of soy, whey or hemp protein, organic soy or almond milk, blueberries or raspberries & banana. I first discovered Juice Generation looking for something healthy around Hunter College. Nearby tucked inside an Equinox gym, I found it. According to the Yelp reviews, people claimed it better than Jamba Juice which I had drank plenty times before, so I had to try it...I am now converted. I'm just a poor college kid, but I'm ready to admit this place is worth it even if somewhat pricey. The first one I tried was the "I Love Watermelon" which I'll admit, I didn't really like very much. It was just a little bland to me. I ordered it because I thought of how much I love watermelon, but apparently I don't like it in juice form. So I figured I'd give the place another shot, and I'm so glad I did. I came back and gave Mucho Mango a try, and it was amazingly tasty! Then, I came back and tried Peaches and Dreams and upon first sip I knew I would become a regular here. The use of organic coconut milk, soy milk, and OJ give the smoothie this creamy texture that's just so incredibly heavenly. (FYI I always order mine with no agave...the natural sugars make it sweet enough, I hate overly sweet). Can't wait to go back and try some more flavors! I recommended the place to my friend (who's now hooked as well) and she tried the Coco Açaí and absolutely loved it, so that's another one I can recommend. read more
