Cute little spot on 84th and Amsterdam with some pretty good Bubble Tea. The bubble tea is by far one of the better ones on the upper west side. It's hard to find tea boba that' not too sweet and loaded with sugary syrup and they fit the bilI here. Passion fruit which was a nice dark tea with passion fruit flavor and lots of tapioca boba pearls. My son had the green apple which was a bit tart and just as good. Place is hard to find. Sign is very small with white neon letters. They really need to fix that! The Taro bubble tea with oat milk is delicious! Wasn't greeted when I came in. Super great to have an affordable healthy option in the area for a solid (ironically) liquid lunch or breakfast. Their signature drinks are pretty delicious but you also have the option of creating your own. They have a multitude of bases if you don't subscribe to the orange juice or dairy based drinks found elsewhere. I happened to be present when they received their fruit delivery and it's so lovely to witness. The fresh fruit, neatly packaged and sent to the rear for prep, makes you want to eat it on sight. I love how clean and neat the counter and work space for juicing is maintained. Hawa loses two stars due to lack of consistent organization and for not offering any food options that are not highly processed. Sometimes Hawa is open on time and sometimes you'll have to try again later. It would help if they at least put up signage. Worth checking out if in the area. read more

I was drawn to their boba (as I often am), but walked out with smoothies for me and my family, so I guess I have to go back and try their boba another day. It is so unnecessarily difficult to find decently priced smoothies in the city. I think I usually pay at least $7 for one (for NO reason.) Hawa's cheapest smoothies come in at $6, which isn't really "cheap," per se, but it's "cheaper" which is definitely something. I loved how the store looked when you went inside-- it feels refreshing and smells like fruit so it really gets you in the right mood for drinking a smoothie and making yourself feel like you're eating healthy from all groups of the food pyramid. We got: Berry Mull (3.5/5), Orange Pineapple (4.5/5), Mango Banana (4/5), Sweet Spin (4/5). None of them were bad, though my sister's berry mull tasted like there may have been added sugar in it (though it may have just been the protein powder). The sweet spin had the right amount of fruit and vegetables. I ordered my mango banana after they told me they ran out of mango papaya. I was worried that the flavors would make the smoothie too sweet, but it wasn't at all. Unfortunately the only thing I found with my drink was that it was somewhat watery and left a strange aftertaste. As you can see in the photo, they use those dome lids and I was so happy that they fill the cups up even into the dome rather than wasting a lot of smoothie. Can't say enough good things about this place. After having a smoothie here for the first time a couple years ago, nothing has ever compared. These people are NOT skimpy on the fruit and the texture of the smoothie base (or if you get a drink) is so incredibly smooth and full of flavor. It does take a little long when it's busy, but it's so worth the wait every time. The place itself is really small with just a few bar stools so don't expect to have seating if going on a hot day, but you can really eat what they have anywhere so it's never been a problem for me. Have been here multiple time and have gotten their smoothies and this time I got the original açaí bowl. I got the large to share with my partner and it was definitely enough for the both of us. It tasted very good and it had lots of fruit which I loved. Everyone who works there is very friendly and service is quick. This is definitely a grab and go place because it's a very small space. I'm a sucker for smoothies, bubble teas, and açaí bowls so any place that offers all three starts off as a five in my book. On the smoothies, bonus point for using fresh fruit and ice instead of frozen fruit which tends to have a chalky and artificial aftertaste - I like how you can actually taste the natural sweetness of the fruit. Also tried the lychee green tea bubble tea - they offer customization options with both ice and sugar. Will obviously need to stop by in the future to try their açaí bowls. There are several options, so if you ever have an açaí bowl hankering, this is your spot. The one thing I really did not like is there is absolutely no space to stand and wait when the shop gets busy. You basically have one tiny corner where the straws and menus are. Add to that this new era where people (cough cough, stoned high schooler who kept giggling and doing random Tik Tok moves, looking at you) no longer wear masks (even though there is a conspicuous sign still requiring masks in the shop) and my skin was just crawling. It's pretty much any smoothie or any acai bowl you like, with any additives or supplements, there's bee pollen and zinc, wheatgrass shots, spirulina, different types of protein powers, all manner of nuts, berries, dates and dried up things, any "milk" imaginable, including rice and oat and the rest of it. each smoothie is over $10, more likely 15-20. there's no seating, it gets hot and crowded, the people who work there are unfriendly and might not charge you correctly. the better way to get nutrition, would be to consume fresh foods and vegetables, that are in season (farmer's market) or that have been frozen at the peak of their ripeness (Frozen organic veggies) but this is a more chemicalized approach, when all else fails :-) read more

I've been going here nearly everyday for 8 months so it's about time I write a review about it. I love this place. And I've only grown more fond after trying different items. It is consistently good. My favorites are the Hawa Shake and Almond Butter Açaí Bowl. But when I'm starting to feel sick, I get the vitamin C smoothie and it works like a charm. And an honorable mention for the oatmeal with the topped fruit. It's very delicious and perfect for colder mornings. The pressed juices are always fresh. The smoothies are perfectly blended. They're known to have some of the best açaí bowls & even if you're not into açaí, their bowl was irresistible. The menu offers a nice range of items. I did not try the bubble teas. Really could not justify spending more $$$- the medium juice was already 8$ plus another 13$ for the bowl. We're getting into the mixed drink price range here... so unless there is some hidden secret ingredient I don't know about, not sure why it's so expensive. High prices & small portion sizes are the latest trend it seems....and taste wise ? The fresh pressed juice was not for me. Portion size was less than expected for the price. Walked by this new shop and decided to grab an açaí bowl for lunch. There were about 4 middle school aged kids in line in front of me ordering and waiting for their orders but the staff was polite in asking for my order when they were done. Service was about the time it takes to put the bowl together so was totally fine considering there were a bunch of orders ahead of mine. The açaí bowl is probably my favorite in the city thus far as most others are too watery for my liking. This one had plenty of substance and lasted a 15 minute walk on a hot day without melting! I felt nice and full afterwards so the regular size is totally right. I really appreciated the generous serving of toppings (mango, blueberries, strawberries, banana, granola, and chia seeds). I've walked by this place numerous times and it had caught my eye but didn't get a chance to try it until now. We stopped by here after a morning run and picked up the acai original bowl. They also offer other items like smoothies, bubble tea, and shakes but I was craving acai after my trip to Hawaii last month. The shop is small and there are a few counter seats along the window, but it probably functions more as a delivery/take out spot. We were the only customers in when we went, and the bowl was prepared quickly. There are two sizes, $10 for a regular and $15 for a large. We took it to a nearby garden (West Side Community Garden which is beautiful) and enjoyed it there. Thankfully we opted for the regular size, which was still quite dense and easily shared between two. I loved the presentation and the fruit is plentiful and looks fresh! We were happy the acai mix was not super sweet. Very satisfied with this bowl and already dreaming of the next visit! Overall good quality ingredients and good value for $10! Also love their huge BOP plant in the front, it's growing so well and I am so jealous! read more

They offer a variety of bubble tea options, smoothies, fruit juices, açaí bowls, oatmeal, as well as shots of wheatgrass, ginger, turmeric. I ordered a mango papaya smoothie and it was so refreshing, and not overly sweet. It tastes like actual fruit, not the artificial powders. Really friendly service. Got the large peanut butter açaí bowl. I figured the regular would be too small and this time I wanted my food instead of worrying about the high price tag (large for $17 felt ridiculous but it was one of those days). The large was HUGE and there was SO MUCH fruit, AND it's organic fruit. I have to say, this was well worth the price. I feel like there was an entire mango and banana as well as the blueberries and strawberries.
