Fantastic spot with truly craft cocktails, excellent old fashioneds and great martinis. We happened to stop in on a Sunday when they had live Latin jazz, and the music was incredible. They told us they feature live music every Sunday, and we can't wait to come back. My husband and I are producers, so we really appreciated the level of talent and atmosphere. We went to Talia for dinner on a Thursday night. They offer valet parking which is very beneficial in this area on nights and weekends. We found street parking since we came in around 6p. The restaurant was fairly empty but it filled up midway through our dinner. It's lively and nicely decorated. We ordered drinks first, and the cocktail menu had some nice options. Too sweet for my taste so I ordered wine. Simple collection to choose from. Then we had the lamb meatballs. They were very good, especially with the sauce. Not gamey. The fried artichoke was definitely a hit with the dipping sauce. Some of the pieces were a little too dry and I didn't taste much artichoke overall. The roasted romaine was a nice take an a Caesar salad. Grilled asparagus is self explanatory. The pizza was really good but I avoid gluten now so I only had 2 bites; husband loved it. I had the scallops which were too rubbery for my taste. I was hungry so I finished the whole plate after another round of drinks. The staff was attentive and professional. One of my friends and I will periodically go out to dinner to catch up - and since we had not done so in over 6 months we were definitely overdue. After a date was locked, the next question was where to go. Talia landed on our radar since it had recently opened and came at the recommendation of a mutual colleague. The menu looked pretty good so we decided to book it. Talia is located in Port Chester, which I must say is seeing a boom in restaurants; seems like this is a new hot spot for dining in Westchester County. It's tucked away along a side street but catches the eye due to its turquoise exterior. The interior is quite spacious (and smelled great) with dining area spread across two floors. We were seated upstairs which, in addition to tables, housed a bar. The decor was upscale without being too stuffy - almost minimalist with small accents, medium woods, and neutral colored seating. The menu is a mix of Italian and French cuisine - separated into apps, bites, salads, pastas, mains, and sides. We decided to share everything and went with a few selections from each section. We decided to start with the hamachi crudo, delivled eggs, fried artichoke hearts, and panzanella salad. These were all great - the crudo was fresh, the eggs contained kimchi which gave it a welcome accent, the artichoke was paired with a tasty yogurt dipping sauce that cut the friedness, and the panzanella salad had an excellent balance of greens and bread. Panzanella salad has the risk of being too bread heavy but it was just enough here. For our mains we decided on the beef filet and the salmon. Both of these were tasty - the filet was served with a side of well-seasoned asparagus and a mustard jus that complemented the beef. The salmon sat on top of some sort of hummus (I think) that contained some chopped vegetables. The skin was super crispy on the fish and the hummus complemented it well. We opted for dessert, and I went with their take on a chocolate ganache cake. This was interesting - it was a super thin slice but that was enough as the ganache was super rich; the cake itself was somewhat dry but I'm not sure if it was meant to be that way? It almost ate like a rice cake with ganache frosting. Despite my confusion it was quite delicious. Service was excellent - everyone was super friendly, and chef-owner Ian Vest even visited our table to say hello. Overall, I had a great experience at Talia - this is a relatively new restaurant and I wish them nothing but the best in this new endeavor. They have some stiff competition in the area, but if they keep it up there's potential for them to be a standout restaurant in Port Chester. read more

First time we went, it was amazing. This time, it was not. Our 2 servers were both wearing filthy aprons. The appetizers were only fair, main course was terrible.Menu said Buccatini, waitress said one of us had an old menu and one of us had a new menu so it was going to be plain pasta.The shrimp were scarce and tiny and the portion was small ( I ordered dinner size. I have been to Talia several times since they opened, and I keep coming back because it just feels like a place you want to support, mostly because the staff and owner is incredibly welcoming and helpful The atmosphere is cozy and modern without trying too hard, and it works for families, date nights or just dropping in for a relaxed bite. One thing that really stood out from my first visit was how welcoming the chef and owner is. He took a moment to talk to us, and told me he named the restaurant after his daughter, which made the whole experience feel even more personal. You can tell he cares about the food and the people who come in. The entire staff has been just as friendly and attentive every time. The food has been consistently excellent. I tried everything on the aperitivo menu once and was surprised by how many options there are and how fairly everything is priced. It is a smart way to sample different dishes before a full dinner. The bikini sandwiches with the truffle flavor were amazing, and the bolognese has become the dish I look forward to the most. Every plate feels thoughtful and comforting. Talia has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat. Great food, good people, and a warm atmosphere. I'm excited to keep visiting and to see it grow. I love supporting good people. Talia is a must try! The cocktails are creative and interesting and food is delicious. We had the bolognese, cacio e pepe, duck, and pork tenderloin for dinner, then tiramisu for dessert. Everything was perfect. Our only complaint was the service was hit and miss - our waiter was MIA most of the time, but the other service staff did notice and filled in the gaps in service. Some great food but a bit of a hot mess... We went here last night, somewhat spur of the moment so we called ahead to make sure they could take us (Friday night). They said that they could if we would sit at the bar but we explained that my mum's in her eighties so the bar might nt be our best bet. They promised a table as long as we could promise to be done by 8pm. Deal! We arrived, looking for the complimentary valet park; no one could be found. Daughter went to ask, and we were advised to leave the car in the street until I explained that we were literally blocking traffic... An awkward start. Then we were seated upstairs-- and when my mum had trouble with the stairs (no elevator), I was told that I should have mentioned that we needed a downstairs table. Um, we did say she was 87, right? Anyway, we were seated and eager to order straightaway, mindful of having promised to vacate the table by 8pm. It took a while to find anyone, and we literally were all looking! Long story short, some of the food was great (swordfish sashimi, lamb and salmon entrées were standouts) and our waitress was charming. Our main courses were taking a *very* long time, and she promised to go check on them and told us not to worry about being out by 8pm since it was their fault everything was taking so long. By 8:20, my husband was literally walking around with our credit card in hand, trying to find someone so we could pay and leave. At this point, people at the bar were somewhat looming over us, and it was easier to hear their conversation (one guy is building a new house, apparently) than our own. To top it off, the hostess came to find me and chastise me for still being there since we had promised to be out by 8! I was stunned and explained that we had been TRYING to leave for half an hour! Suddenly, two men were literally reaching over and around us to clear the table. We were decidedly being kicked out the door despite having been told not to worry about the time since it was the kitchen's fault for taking so long. The entrées didn't even arrive together, so I begin to suspect their was some miscommunication. A number of times, we were trying to find a server and saw the staff all talking in the back hallway. I think they are still ironing out the kinks... but honestly, with a bill of almost $500 (and the husband still tipped remarkably well (25%) which is more generous than I think I would have been, all things considered) it wasn't nice to leave feeling so unwanted. People were in a long queue as we were leaving, one man saying to us that they had been waiting over an hour (with a reserve) and his wife had walked down the street to see if she could find an alternate place for dinner. In short, I get that they're new and fun... but I'm not sure I'll go rushing back anytime soon. PS: I know that everyone else has given 5 stars, but the description of 2 stars as "Could have been better" felt exactly apt. read more

I've been to Talia a few times with family and friends and every time is excellent. Some of my favorite dishes are the aged duck, chicken bolognese, and salmon. The food is consistently prepared properly and I love that it is so different from Italian American red sauce restaurants. Staff was friendly. Chef came out to greet guests and ask if all was good, he even served the food himself. Atmosphere was inviting with nice decor. But the star of the show is the food.. lamb polpette was amazing firm and tasty. The server was attentive as she noticed we had a party of four and ask if we wanted to add an additional meatball. Crispy potatoes were lightly salted and delicious. I had the chicken breast with cream mushroom source wonderful. Wife had the sausage pizza wonderful as well. Came to Talia's for lunch from Manhattan (It was an easy train ride in). We really enjoyed our food and took the time to eat! We ordered the crispy polenta (we scarfed this down- highly recommend), shaved Brussel sprouts salad (kimchi added a nice flavor to the salad), bolognese pasta (yum), carbonara pasta and Talia's tiramisu (drooling over the amaretti cookie). Drinks were strong and flavorful - I got the Kyoto one with gin and yuzu. The flavor combinations were spot on and tasty. The hostess and waitstaff were so friendly and helpful. Overall very frustrating experience. The food was presented in a very amerturish manner with no flavor . The baked clams were dry and had no flavor, the lamb meatballs were also dry and tasteless. The carbonara was probably the worst I have ever tasted along with my partners mushroom pasta that was dreadful.. The teramasou was beyond horrible, it was just something unidentifiable. This is a relatively new restaurant, and we were very lucky to discover it on Yelp (which we trust the most), where it has excellent reviews. The chef-owner, Ian, truly shows through his cooking how much he cares about his restaurant--everything was fresh and delicious. We started with shaved Brussels sprouts, gently roasted in the oven and lightly drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, accompanied by freshly cooked cranberries, butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, and kimchi. The combination was incredibly creative, offering a delicious and unique flavor profile. My husband had the butter clam pasta (not on the menu, but the chef kindly accommodated and made it for him), and he loved it. I enjoyed it as well, though I think it might be even better prepared with olive oil instead of butter. I had a super fluffy and delicious pizza with caramelized onions and mushrooms--it was so good that we finished the entire pizza. For dessert, we enjoyed an amazing reconstructed tiramisu with a delicate foam ball, a lighter and more refined take on the traditional heavy-cream tiramisu. I was tempted to order a second serving. Nadine. our server, was very friendly and professional. She gave us excellent advice, guided us to the right amount of food, and helped us select dishes we absolutely loved. We even booked our next visit when we paid the bill. Talia is truly a gem in Port Chester. Truth is 2.5 months ago Id have given talia 4-5 stars..... This is unfortunately a very honest review of a restaurant that started out a 5+ star place.. My wife and I have eaten here 9 times in the short time they have been open. Practically once a week. Our first visit set the stage for high expectations and praise.. Actually stole us away from Fenice across the street. When we first started going to talia no one knew about it, upstairs room was empty.. The service was top notch A+, Food while menu is limited everything was excellent. Table check ins, wine assistance, bar drinks and overall just great.. I can say as a regular diner, unfortunately I watched almost all aspects slip week to week. Prices have increased while service has dropped of TREMENDOUSLY, specials once interesting are narcissistically out of line price wise PERIOD! weekly specials have consistently included $120 steaks for 1, which considering the regular menu steak is one of the weaker overall dishes perhaps work on that rather the supplement the mediocre steak with a highly overpriced option. Pastas have escalated in price as well... while the food has definitely dropped off greatly. Pizzas i would say went from a strong staple to a mediocre appetizer. I have had their bolognese dish almost everytime either as a shared appetizer or a main course and i have honestly watched it go from so amazing i raved about it to anyone i knew, to not worth finishing this past week. The week before it came out so completely covered in shaved parm (i asked for on the side) , i sent it back and when it arrived back in about 1 minute i knew it was not redone.. portion was halved and all the meat gone along with the attempt to get rid of the cheese.. fact is this week i reminded them of how bad it was and my concerns with the service in general.. and while my waitress did check in often she was still a mediocre server at best and it was clear the manager said something. Even bread service went from warm and assorted to me needing to chase down the manager to get some, which now was just cold bread thrown on a plate. Biggest telltale sign.. in my 8 previous visits never once did the chef come out, and this time he did while only for a quick second to ask how everything was... personally i would have preferred him to step up and say "heard we haven't been up to your par so hopefully tonight will be". The valet parking saves a few bucks over metered parking but that becoming a highlight is very disheartening, as we have gone from weekly raves to cancelling some of our weekly reservations. The vibe, the young sometime hip crowd may keep it rolling for a while but i fear without some updates to the menu, a reality check on how to use a specials menu to supplement the small menu while maintaining the price structure, not using the boundaries of what customers may pay...may find Talia a "should we try it again" instead of a slam dunk for us and many of our friends that we have turned onto the place.. Perfect example... the friends we took the first two times couldn't wait to go back... the friends we took the last two times both left with a "don't need to rush back" feeling.. SAD. Hope the managers pull back, retrain their young seaters that are often lost and confused, hope the chef steps back was well and plays off his winners without going to far, and more then anything train the wait staff to have a clue when they speak other then one server most dishes were improperly described. Holdouts that remain outstanding and try to coverup the growing issues... Waitresss Jessie, we wont even consider eating there anymore if she's not our server..(yes im saying they have only one in my opinion)... and the bar staff, while drinks are over priced they are prepared at a hip NYC bar level .... keeping positive hopes for Talia and when i may next decide to stop in im pleasantly surprised. Oh and the tiramisu is worth the visit... it cant hold up and fix a bad meal but a drink at the bar and a dessert will surely be something i do until i feel the need to come back... read more

I visited Talia on a Wednesday evening with two family members. We were 10 min early for our reservation but given the downstairs dining room was empty with the exception of 2 tables, we were seated right away. Our server was promptly at our table for water orders, and then a few minutes later for drink orders. When our drinks arrived, we placed our food orders (salad & apps and our entrees), but we asked that they not come out on top of each other. We were assured they wouldn't. The mesclun salad with vinaigrette dressing was delicious, as were the arancini - light & crisp! We weren't done with the salad & apps and the entrees arrived. I had to quickly take the last arancini as the plate was being removed. For entrees, two of us had pasta dishes which were excellent (bucatini carbonara & casarecce), a personal size bolo pizza was also ordered which was good as well. But again, the server came back to clear our plates before we were finished. We just took a break from eating but our plates were being taken away so we had the remaining pastas boxed. My niece had one slice of pizza left that she said she was still working on but the server reached to take it away, but we told her to leave it. We did not order dessert. When we left the dining room was not full, but had a nice crowd. I can't put my finger on it, but "something" was missing from this experience. Again, food was delicious, service was good (overly eager/rushed?), decor is minimal, staff was pleasant but a vibe /warmth wasn't there. Maybe because it was a Wednesday? I don't know. I will definitely go back at least one more time, as I feel you need to give new businesses at least two chances. read more

What can I say other than I had exceptional food in a wonderful atmosphere! My party of four sipped on great cocktails and wines. We had a fabulous meal sharing several appetizers, pastas and pizzas. We all ordered different entrees. I ordered the Tea Brined Pork Tenderloin w/manchego grits, spinach, cherry and jus. The pork was cooked perfectly and I could eat the grits forever! We ended our meal sharing the olive cake w/basil ice cream, the parmesan cheese cake and torte di chocolate which were ALL fantastic. The space itself is beautifully decorated. Jan 2026, I give the food here 5 Stars. The lighting inside the restaurant was perfect not too bright and not too dark, you can see the food you're eating. There are two floors to the restaurant, with a bar area on each floor. But be prepared to walk up a steep set of stairs to get to the second floor. The three of us decided to sit on the first floor, they put us in the back. But now that I think about it that was a mistake, we should had asked for a different table or to sit upstairs. In the back where we sat there were a total of 3 tables. 2 tables that seat two, and 1 table that seats four. We sat in the table for four, that was a mistake on our part. In my opinion these tables are too close together, and you can hear the other tables conversation which in my opinion is very uncomfortable for everyone. In the middle of our meal I found it hard to get out to go to the bathroom because I had to ask my friend to get up and squeeze through the table next to us. This experience was not pleasant for me, my friend and I am sure the people sitting next to us. In my opinion change to table arrangements. The table of four to a table of two or just put 2 tables of four in the back, so the customers do not have to be on-top of each other, listening to the other tables conversation. Now for our meals that were all delicious. I ordered the Bolognese with chicken, pasta was cooked to perfection, my other friend ordered the Tartufo with whit truffle butter, and we had the Tea-Brined Pork Tenderloin. We ended up having the Tiramisu as our dessert which was fresh and delicious, however when we asked for Cappuccino our Server told us they only have coffee or tea, so we skipped having anything to drink. Also, the music was too loud, it was hard to talk, my suggestion is to turn it down a few octaves. All and all, we would give the restaurant another try because the food was delicious. read more

Background music was appropriately set and conversation flows nicely. The food was spectacular. We had two antipastos (eggplant and lamb), shared the rigatoni bolognese -- my oh my, simply outstanding and separate entrees. My wife had a pork dish while I had the filet. I can understand that they don't have cappuccino because it takes time and equipment, but how do they not have artificial sweetener for coffee? It doesn't take up that much space and it doesn't spoil. I was tempted to run to Walgreens and get them a box. Really ended our dinner on a sour note because my wife didn't want to order dessert if I wasn't getting anything, and I ended up with nothing.
