My friend recommended this place, because he ate at it in the 1970's and it was the best espresso he had ever had. So we went for lunch on a Friday. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful. (He did give me a side eye for ordering a second glass of wine, but come on, it was a day off) we had apps, mains, and dessert. The food was all very good! Wife and I were looking forward to the the chicken parm unfortunately it was really disappointing, taste wasn't there. Portion size for what they charge, wasn't right. The food was absolutely incredible! From start to finish. The menu had a variety of options to chose from. The baked claims and mushrooms were delicious, loved the breadcrumbs. The Abbruzzi region of Italy has given us some of the best chefs in the world. Mariannci's follows that tradition with great food! Great place! We were visiting from out of town and appeared to be the only non-locals. I talked to one guy who said he's been having dinner at Marianacci's every Friday for 50 years! I'm not sure who's providing positive reviews for this restaurant. It was our first time there (party of 6) and going to be our last. We were there to celebrate a family member birthday event. We got there about 5:30pm and we're give our table. A waiter took our first drink orders and was never to be seen again for at least 30 min. He finally appeared to take our appetizer Order. After another 20 min The apps arrived and were extremely small portions not even large enough to split among 2 people let alone 6 .after another 35-40 min the waiter took our meal orders. After about another 40 minutes, we finally received our meals. Well, at least some of us did. One member of our group did not get his meal until most of the table was already done with their meals. My meal was prepared improperly and not to what I had requested. For the amount of money they charge the portions of every meal and app were very small . You would do better getting the same meals in PC diner no more than a mile away from this restaurant. During our meal service was non existent no one came to ask if we were satisfied with our meals or to even ask if we needed any more drinks. When we discussed our issue with the owner, nothing was done except the removal of one meal and a bunch of "I'm sorry." in the end the meal cost us $385 for what I would consider a very poor meal and nonexistent service. They also added a 4% charge onto the bill because we used credit cards to pay for the meal. This had to be one of my worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant and highly advise to stay away. read more

The service was horrible. The waiter ignored us most of the meal. The bartender had no clue how to make an Old Fashioned drink. It was bitter and horrible twice! When I returned it he came out and was aggressive with me. The calamari with fagioli was amazing. Something I have never seen or eaten. I wish that was the main meal. The bracciole was tasteless and had the texture of pounded chopped meat. The marinara was ok. The eggplant rolatini was over breaded and not very flavorful. Even our friends who frequented this place said they were very unhappy with everything. So sorry we travelled so far to get there. read more

I've been to Marianacci's a handful of times with my husband and his grandmother. Popular amongst locals, it serves reliably good classic Italian dishes in an elegant, intimate setting. When we've had dinner there on Saturday nights, a live jazz band has played in the room closest to the entrance. In general we favor their homemade pastas and fish entrees; his grandmother and other relatives are big fans of their pasta and veal. The last time we went to Marianacci's, my husband and I ordered the beet salad special and the Marianacci appetizer, which offers a combination of cheeses and cold cuts. For our entrees, we ordered the homemade manicotti special and the grilled halibut special. Both were delicious, but we enjoyed the former more. In the past, we found their lasagna and zuppa di pesce to be excellent. Marianacci's also offers a wide dessert selection--it's always so hard to choose! Our favorites are the tiramisu and the tartufo. This is a great spot for both dates and larger family gatherings (I've been there with a party of nine before). Service is consistently attentive and the experience is always enjoyable. read more

This is a great Italian restaurant. If you pay cash, the bill is more affordable. They have veal dishes, pasta dishes, appetizers, and great desserts. They take Visa, American Express and other credit cards. The tiramisu is great as are the other desserts. The parking is free. I have eaten there many times. The staff are very friendly and will make you an ice tea without ice so you can add a sweeter to the drink. I like having a Shirley Temple sometimes. read more

When I was traveling to the area regularly for business, I was known to eat there several time in the same week! We enjoy the lunch menu and visit at least once a month. The chicken Marsala is flavorful, use the bread to wipe up the sauce! Carlos is friendly and a great server. It's never crowded at lunch time so you can have a quiet conversation. read more

As a person who grew up in Westchester county, and now I'm living in Fairfield county, I did not know this restaurant existed. Not sure why I never had heard of it but we went for dinner there last night and it was GREAT! Food was delicious. Service was spot on and I really enjoy the old feeling of the restaurant..we'll it is old but charming. The two veal dishes (one scallopini one chop) tasted great and cooked to perfection. We loved our first visit back to Marianacci's in over a decade! It's a bit of a stitch in time; I'm not sure the menu has ever changed, and wines by the glass are circa 1963. But the food is still classic and marvelous. The clam and mussels app is completely sublime, as is the eggplant Involtini. I think the original Mr. Marianacci still cleans and cuts the calimari and scungilli himself, swear to god, and it is delicious. The waitstaff happily accomodated my request to swap chicken for veal on the Sorrento and it was beyond compare, an absolute must. In all honesty, we didn't love the Braciole as much as we had hoped, but we had never tasted it before, I'm guessing they did it well but it just isn't a dish we love. And they were out of cheesecake, which we remember as being divine. The tiramisu was lovely, though.. and the espresso, too. Stick with the classics at this classic timeless venue... you won't be sorry! Stop in for a song at the bar after dinner, too! read more

Went to this little restaurant off the beaten path last night and was surprised by the quality of everything from the drinks to the entrees. The service was very attentive but not overbearing. The figs, melon and prosciutto were ripe and flavorful and the burrata cheese was so creamy and fresh! Our pork and veal chop entrees were cooked to perfection in a savory and silky sauce that begged for more bread! A couple who had arrived after us had completed their appetizer, entree and dessert. We were in no way in a rush, but our waitress never even came back to see if we would like more wine. I have been eating this restaurant for over 30 years. I ate there again last night, it hasn't missed a beat! My favorites are the clams oreganata and veal sorrento but I have eaten just about everything on the menu at one time or another and the good us always excellent. This last night, I ate the filet of sole oreganata. Delicious! The atmosphere is nice and the music in Friday & Saturday nights make it a nice evening out. Terrible service. First, we walked in (nobody in front of us, plenty of empty tables) and waited close to 5 minutes to be seated. Then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes till someone took our drink order. Then waited close to a half hour till someone took our food order. We should've gotten the hint by then, but this place had come recommended, so we wanted to give it a shot. We then waited well over an hour and still hadn't seen our food or been addressed by our waitress to order more drinks or to let us know the kitchen was backed up. The people around us, who came in after us had eaten an appetizer, dinner and dessert, paid their bill and left. We recently moved to the area and this place had come recommended. I went to dinner here at 7pm on a Saturday night with my family (six people) and experienced the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. The restaurant did appear to have a large private party, but that is no excuse to completely ignore our table. To start with our waiter did not even come over to our table to let us know the specials until thirty minutes after we had been seated. We then finally were able to place our order and proceeded to wait an additional hour and a half for our food. While we did receive multiple refills on water we were not given any additional bread, nor did anyone check on our table to let us know our food was on the way. We were finally able to flag down the owner, after multiple attempts, her response was that "every meal is made to order and takes 45 minutes to an hour to cook". After we explained that we had been waiting for well over that time frame, she finally went into the kitchen. We got served our meal at 9:10pm, which is a bit ridiculous for a 7pm reservation for 6 people who did not order any appetizers. After such a long wait I was really hoping that the food would make up for the service, but was severely disappointed. The sauce tasted like it was out of a jar, and the chicken cutlet was most definitely frozen and not freshly made. I will never eat at this restaurant again, and caution anyone to go here unless you plan on having a very very long unsatisfying meal. read more

This Italian restaurant has been around for 60 years, and after constantly going there in the past few months I can see why. The food is amazing and everything I have tried thus far has been nothing but exceptional Italian cooking. My favorite dishes are the steak (best in the region in my opinion), and also the Veal Sorento. The portions are just right and the price is right on point. Marianaccis offer a cozy and quiet atmosphere even when the place is busy. The staff is very friendly and even remembers your name and favorite dishes and drinks if you attend regularly like I do. I highly reccomend giving it a try because mostly likely you will fall in love with it just like I did. read more

This well established restaurant is a real jewel! The food is consistently excellent. The meatballs are the best and their sauce is perfect. The tables are well spaced so that conversations can be comfortable at your table but not overheard. The staff are all friendly, attentive and not intrusive. The waiter Val is a gem!
