I just want to point out at first that Haven isn't going to be a place you're going to for the food. They have small plate / appetizer offerings available but it's limited. The food itself is serviceable, nothing to knock my socks off, but just something there to keep you satiated while you drink. I'm guessing this is the way it is because they have a limited kitchen in what they can prepare. With that out of the way though, Haven is a really nice, relaxing place to grab a drink. They have speciality cocktails, like the one in my review, that they seem to take pride in preparing. It fills the void left from the Rye House, which also didn't just pump drinks out like an assembly line. Bartenders and staff are real welcoming and friendly, and it's a nice place to take a date to, without dealing with riff-raff like in some of the other nearby places.

I love supporting new restaurants especially in my hometown. The service is great and as soon as we walked in, we got greeted and sat down. The chef came out and greeted the tables which can always be appreciated. The menu had a lot of options not listed on their Google review which was a great surprise. I was confused on like wether this was an Asian fusion bar/restaurant or American? Still not sure We ordered our drinks and food all together- drinks came back quickly , love that. Drinks are not diluted which we always love. Our food came out quickly as well, presentation 100% amazing- taste wise, very underwhelming. If you're 3 drinks in i guess you would enjoy the food more. *The Maple Bacon Brussels sprouts were enjoyable. *Spicy korean chicken tenders- okay, just felt like i was eating tenders with honey nothing special *For my pickle lovers- the pickle fries were soggy, not that great 2/5 Sticky Ribs- i mean, you can't really mess these up, so decent Overall, coming here for drinks would be a vibe- maybe that's the intention, food wise not amazing.

It had been years since my last visit, so it felt like a brand-new experience. I made a reservation online, though it wasn't really necessary that evening. Still, it's a plus that you can easily choose between indoor and outdoor seating when booking. Parking in their onsite lot is another convenience. The restaurant has a cozy, intimate feel, and there's a small bar that offers a happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 4-7 PM. We started with cocktails: a refreshing white sangria with mango and a mojito. Both were well-made and reasonably priced--$7 and $8. For appetizers, we had the coconut shrimp served over sliced plantains with a lemongrass sauce. The flavors were good, but the shrimp were noticeably over-fried (see my video), which took away from what could have been a standout dish. Sonora's menu offers a diverse Latin-inspired selection with dishes from South America, Cuba, Mexico, Portugal, and Puerto Rico. I was intrigued by the variety. I chose a Cuban-inspired dish: Angus skirt steak served with lobster and plantain fried rice and topped with a quail egg saffron lime garlic mojito sauce. The steak was tender and cooked to order, but the fried rice was underwhelming--just a hint of lobster flavor with only a few tiny pieces of lobster. The quail egg was nicely done. My friend ordered a Colombian dish: chicken stuffed with sweet plantain, goat cheese, peppers, and chorizo, served with saffron mashed potatoes and a sweet sherry sauce. She loved it and said the portion size was generous--I passed on a taste but took her word for it! They also offer brunch, jazz nights, and a paella night, which I'd love to check out in the future. I'll definitely return when the weather is warmer to enjoy their outdoor seating.

Now that we've been, I can absolutely see why. The ambiance is great. Love the decor and it generally feels like a nice place for a date night or even just a nice night out with friends. The staff is attentive and very nice. But the food. The food was amazing. We started with the Little Mezze with the grilled bread and we also got the char grilled octopus. Both were amazing. We sat and ranked each dish on the little mezze, because it was all fantastic. Complex yet clean flavors in each dish. The eggplant was just a delightful, complex, balanced dish. The grilled octopus was possibly the best octopus I have ever had. The char had a great flavor. It was perfectly tender. We next had the schnitzel and the beet salad with salmon on top. The schnitzel was so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The salmon was so nicely cooked on top of the salad. We saved room for dessert and had the sundae and the cheesecake and they were completely different and both stupidly good and very unique. This place was overall amazing. Homerun and one of the best dining experiences as of late and a definite must come back.

Whenever I had meetings at our NYC office, I'd grab a seat at the bar there just to see what was new on the seasonal menu. So, when I heard he was bringing his culinary brilliance to Greenwich Avenue, I was ecstatic. Happy Monkey definitely lives up to the hype, but with a totally different energy. It's a "fun-loving Latin restaurant," and the vibe is spot on--bright, laid-back, and stylish without being stuffy. The black and white tiled floors and all the lanterns and plants hanging from the ceiling give it a really cool, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. The bar program is solid. They have a full selection, but the margaritas and sangria seemed to be the move for most tables. As for the food, it was incredible. Here's the breakdown: * Arroz con Pollo: This is the absolute "must-have" dish. Just a heads up: it takes about 30 minutes to cook, so give yourself at least an hour for the full experience. It is well worth the wait. * Sizzling Shrimp with Garlic: Exactly what you want it to be--fragrant, buttery, and delicious. * Organic Chipotle Chicken Tacos: Super fresh and had that signature Jean-Georges "pop" of flavor. * Crispy Calamari: Perfectly fried and a great way to kick off the meal. You can really feel the JG influence here--everything feels lighter and more vibrant than your typical heavy Latin fare. It's great to finally have this level of cooking right here in Greenwich. Whether you're a longtime fan of his NYC spots or just looking for a great new dinner hang, this place is a win.

I suppose it's a pro that it's never been hard to get into, but maybe this spot hasn't quite found its groove yet. As a frequenter of Matador Room in Miami, I see a lot of similarities on the menu (and some of the same dishes, and the overall vibe) which make it that much easier to get food that brings me to Miami without actually having to go there. Namely -- the hot sauce on every table (not a "food" but integral to the JG experience), the ginger margarita (liquids are food), the maitake mushroom, the sweet pea guac, and the always amazing Arroz con Pollo. I'm sure there is more, but this is what stands out to me. So for starters, any of those are fantastic choices. We recently went for brunch and added the tuna tartare, a few salads, a burger, and the baked eggs to the list. My only caution, and I say this with deep regret, is that the baked eggs are VERY baked. I was imaging something more like a loose bake, shakshouka style, but I clearly did not read the menu very hard. We capped it all off with the tres leches (YES) and the Mexican chocolate pudding. Drink the drinks, eat the rice, and put the bright orange hot sauce on everything. Yes, it's not cheap, but what else did you expect in Greenwich?

It smells so strong you cannot imagine eating anything while smelling it. Why are they not using any of the many non smelling cleaners available? Like every other restaurant!?! Please Tellys!!! I actually love their food most of the time and would go there more often if not for this issue. Sometimes the calamari and octopus are not as fresh as they could be which of course is a big problem. They need to coordinate with their other restaurant to make the ingredients always fresh!!! Love the marousalata, grilled octopus (sometimes) and many of their other dishes. If they did better marketing or PR (youre right next to the town of Greenwich where people love and can afford your food but no one has heard of you!) they would have more customers and likely fresher food! My suggestions: 1. Stop using fabuloso- clean with a smell-free product 2. Only fresh food always (no old seafood or meat! Dangerous!) 3. Marketing and PR!
