I always like to leave a recommendation , because there us always room for improvement... The mashed potatoes did not taste fresh. They were powdery and seemed out of a box. Celebrated my birthday with 24 family & friends in Sergio's upstairs private dining room. Very nice & cozy, once you make it up the steep stairs. Our waiter Jose could not have been better! So very accommodating, pleasant, friendly, and skilled. The Menu and Daily Specials offered a wide array of delectable choices and prices are reasonable, most especially the Prix Fix Menu. Everyone raved about their apps, entrees and deserts, with but one exception, the steak entree. Without hesitation, the steak was taken off the bill. Some very delicious standouts were the Veal Osso Buco, Stuffed Filet of Soul, and Chicken Scarpariello. The Home-made Toasted Almond Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, and Cappuccinos were also spot-on. We had a Wonderful Time! read more

Had my wedding dinner/reception here in the private room and it was perfect! Firstly l, Jerry the owner is the best, so accommodating and comforting. The space was private loved having our own bathroom and big bonus we were allowed to decorate/set up the room however we wanted the night before! The food is excellent, the pene alla vodka was perfect some of the best I had. We had tons of delicious appetizers and the hanger steak was a hit. The service was perfect and timely. Ate at Sergio's for the first time last night. I had heard that their Prix Fixed dinners were very good with great value for the meal. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Mozzarella w/tomato, sweet peppers and prosciutto for appetiser. Ossa Bucco as main course and cannoli for dessert. For a mere price of $26.95 the meal was excellent. I have paid over $30 for just the entree in other Italian restaurants and they paled in comparison to Sergio's. My friend ordered Chicken Marsala, eggplant rollatini and cheesecake for dessert. The meal was delicious. The food is very good for the price and that's why I gave it five stars. I've spent much more at other Italian restaurants and their food is not as good. Service was outstanding albeit I ate there on a Monday night and restaurant was not crowded. Ambience was ok not a typical Italian interior but didn't matter to me as the food was so good as the price. I recommend Sergio's very highly. For a night out during the week for a "good" Italian meal at an extraordinary price this is the place to eat. I will be eating at Sergio's minimum of twice a month. I will sample all of their prix fixe entrées and review on Yelp. read more

Amongst all the Italian restaurants in Westchester, this is ALL TIME WORST!! I wuld not even feed my dogs scrap from the garbage neither, First, although the restaurant is housed in an old home, a member of our party had mobility issues and the manager and hostess just idly watched us assist this guest struggle over steep slippery steps on a wet rainy evening . A place like this should have at their main entry a handicapped ramp available in NYS - regardless of how longyouhave been in business , if you truly care for your guests . The male waiter from start to finish was clearly doing us a favor to serve us; never checked up to see how we were doing; nor if perhaps we wanted more drinks or anything . The one time we stopped him for more grated cheese for the pasta, he abruptly said in a few minutes - really ?? The table in front of us seemed to be more important guests than us. ( although the funniest part was they simply ordered just 2 appetizer salads as their main courses and one pasta special and one chicken dish). Guess you don't want to follow the larger check - DUMMY! Everyone recommended the prix fixed 3 course menu which read like a great deal. TOO BAD , IT STOPPED THERE,! The food all came out so quickly, it was obviously premade( from the taste of it - several days ago too! The appetizer of eggplant rollatine was one bland piece smothered in canned Ragu sauce without any flavors I tried the crabcakes as the photo looked wonderful . What appeared in front of me was 2 skinny hors doevre size unidentifiable discs - DISGRACEFUL AND DISGUSTING , upon delivery of our entrees , the pork osso bucco was mediocre with rissoto ( simply a tablespoon of yellow flavorless rice.) The veal parmigiana was sooooo paper thin and was cutup into 4 lil pieces.any parmigiana dish always is one whole cutlet! The dish upon delivery was burning hot ( without warning ) and was hotter than the actual veal! Again , the red globs of " sauce" was flavorless , no garlic or herbs! The best part of the whole meal was a tiny lil dish for butter which was called " chickpea salad!" that was served with the bread. Even the NY cheesecake was 1/8 of the size ( either ala carte or prix fixe with a crust requiring a saw to cut.) The " American coffee" was a pot of black water w/o flavor . BEWARE OF EVERYTHING AT THIS OLD ESTABLISHMENT - they died as a restaurant likely 10 min years ago !! read more

This place has a lovely, homey feel about it. The service is great, and the owner actually cleared our dishes after we finished the meal and offered us dessert. This definitely feels like a family-run place. The food was exceptional and the price was reasonable compared to other Italian places we've been around here. My husband had the seafood stew, and while it felt more like seafood linguine with red sauce than a stew, he enjoyed it. I had the veal cardinale. As much as my husband enjoyed his seafood, which is why he wanted to try this place, he said my veal was amazing and he was going to get it next time. It was perfectly cooked, with perfect flavor balance. The parmesan potatoes and fresh steamed veggies were a great compliment to the veal, eggplant and prosciutto entree. The portions are huge... maybe a little more that I can comfortably finish, so next time I was to try some of the prix fixe menu, since I assume the entree may be a bit smaller... Appetizer, meal and dessert for a set price that was what my veal cardinale cost. We had cappuccino, tiramisu and chocolate mousse cheesecake for dessert and it was a nice way to end the evening. We just moved to Valhalla and we're very glad this place is just down the street. read more

What can I say? Every single time I go to Sergio's, I am welcomed by an incredible staff and even more amazing meals. My favorite of all time is their penne alla vodka, I can eat it for days and never get tired of it. They have an amazing prix fixe menu, where anything you pick will be worth your time and money. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy, perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. They also have an upstairs room for private parties and everyone always has a great time. Went to Sergio's yesterday for a funeral luncheon. The quality of the food was a lot less than I expected. The cutlets for the chicken Francaise as well as the veal Marsala were so thin. there was no texture or thickness at all. The side was about 1/4 cup of rice and some skimpy vegetables but at least they were fresh. Definitely not full portions. The dessert was a joke. At most they used a couple of pieces of cheese cake sliced into smaller than bite size pieces. The cookies were what you would buy in a cellophane box. Service was mediocre at best. No refills on water, coffe etc and no one ever came around to ask if we needed anything more. read more

My husband and I had been here once before. We enjoyed their prix fixed dinner and ordered it again. During the week (Sunday-Thursday) it's 24.95 and on Friday and Saturday it's priced well at $27.95. The deal offers nice options. We split our mussels and crab cake appetizers. We both enjoyed our entrees, veal parm with linguini and chicken Francese with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The entrees were brought out a bit too quickly, we had hardly just finished our apps, but they were generous and delicious. UPDATE: Had to write an update based on a recent experience. Went here again for a casual Friday lunch with five other coworkers. As I mentioned previously, it's been packed here before so much so that we couldn't get seated, but this day was completely empty and so quiet. It was weird, as if we shouldn't have been there. This time I opted for a less carb-y lunch option and I did regret it for sure. I ordered the chicken martini and rather than two smaller chicken breast pieces it was literally cut pieces of chicken. Maybe it's the same amount as whole pieces for lunch, but just seeing the cut pieces of chicken was very off-putting. The sauce is still good, but overall just not very satisfying. I probably won't choose to go here for lunch again. If I do, it probably won't be because I want to. read more

Everything here is just delicious! The place is cozy, has a nice bar, and has the best old-school Italian fare that one would expect. As a vegetarian, I love their eggplant rollatini and eggplant parm. The marinara is the best. I've also had the fried calamari and fish dishes. All dishes are perfectly prepared. Attended a surprise 90th birthday party here (not for me XD). The biggest issue was that the space was very small and it made mingling and greeting/saying goodbyes quite difficult and uncomfortable. Once the waitstaff got going it was good service, but it took quite a long time before the bread baskets were even put on the table. I was already two glasses of wine in on an empty stomach. Yikes! The salad was ok, the dressing was a bit harsh and there was too much of it. The lettuce they use is a bit bitter which is probably why they douse it in dressing. The penne alla vodka was delicious. We threw my sister a small sprinkle for her second baby and had a lunch here with about 13 people. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that they hang art work from local children in the area, which I think was absolutely adorable. We chose a prefix menu prior to getting there and they had it all typed up on a special menu with her name on it and the tables were set up, even a table for gifts. The food was absolutely delicious, everybody loved what they had to eat. The pasta fagioli soup with so good I ordered some to take home. The staff was absolutely amazing and came over to me constantly throughout the lunch to check on if we needed anything down to the temperature of the room. The even let me bring in pastries and a cake of my own and display them on platters. To top it off the bill came out and it was so affordable for all of the food and drinks that we had, they included a tip but I left them extra because they were so good. I love Sergio's! I work nearby, so this is the closest restaurant, but I sure am glad Sergio's is where it is! It is one of the best restaurants I've found in the area. The people are really nice, the food is delicious, and the price is pretty reasonable! I especially like coming here for their prix fixe lunch because, it's such an amazing deal. You get soup, entree and coffee for the same price you would pay for just the entree! And their bread is so good that one time, we asked for the basket to be refilled enough times that one of the owners came over and joked with us about it. My favorite dishes are the linguine with mussels and the penne vodka, but the chicken martini is also a great choice! You can't go wrong here. It's good, homey, delicious Italian food! Sergio's seems to be a hit in Valhalla. Pulling into their large packed parking lot on a weeknight we were optimistic that a fine meal was forthcoming. Alas it was not to be. We selected from the "Dinner Prix Fixe" menu. The Fresh Mozzarella with Tomatoes and Roasted Peppers was a fine starter as was Panko Crab Cakes selection. The main entrees were the disappointment. The Atlantic Salmon (Onions, Cherry Tomatoes, Mussels in a White Wine Sauce) was bland. The same can be said with the Chicken Marsala selection. Truly tasteless. While I can understand not loading up dishes with salt some flavoring is necessary here. We then shared an almond cake slice which tasted freshly boxed. Seated at a table in the cozy bar area was fine at first. However by meals end (thankfully) the bar area became ridiculously tight with guests bumping our table and stepping on my toes. Picture yourself dining in the middle of a crowded subway car. In addition - the fine service we had received earlier became nonexistent. We were basically forgotten until I finally hailed a server to request our bill. Note: When we left Sergio's was even more packed than before.
