I came here with a group of friends for Friday night karaoke. We arrived around 8:30pm to get dinner first. I had a burger, which was one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time. The fries are quite similar to McDonald's fries (in a good way). The bartender (Maria) was so friendly and nice! Karaoke started around 10:30pm. It was fun, if a bit chaotic. It's a fun place. I've been there many times for karaoke. Chris and Bill are great hosts. Maria is very warm and cool, and the other bartenders (including her husband, whose name I can't recall) are also welcoming and fun. People love the darts and the zillion tvs with every game showing. The Guinness is cold and the people are having fun. I don't know what more you want out of a local bar. I've had some great laughs in the place. Parking is not a problem. Close to Saw Mill. Sometimes the singing is horrendous (including my own) but that's karaoke for ya. I've seen live music in there too, and that was great. I guess the negative reviews are from people who expect to be worshipped or pampered. Plus, misunderstandings happen. They've never happened to me, not at Foley's, and I doubt if you go there, they'll happen to you. Slainte to one and all! read more

Let me paint you a picture. You walk into a bar and you feel the gaze of twenty pairs of judgmental eyes. You shake it off. You approach the bar. You are greeted by Shreks sister, Helga. You ask kindly for a pickle back shot only to be told they don't have pickle juice. You proceed to buy the most watered down green tea shot that cost you an arm and a leg. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.... Helga opens up her mouth and spouts pure vitriol. As you ponder what animal has crawled so far up her ass, you turn your head to see a drunk local undressing you with their eyes. That's the last straw. Read this before going. Prejudice against people with disabilities i am visually impaired , so going to crowded places and maneuvering around can be difficult for me sometimes, but I manage. I accidentally bumped into someone ant the bar and apologized. the bartender refused to serve me. I did not have a single drop of alcohol in my system and I tried to explain my situation. She did not listen and she even threatened to call the police on me. So I left. The next day, I contacted the bar to speak to a manager or owner. The man who answered the phone just happened to be the owner and I explained what happened. His reply disgusted me. He said, and I quote "well, if you dont like it, do not come here". So I told him that I would write a negative review, and he responded "go ahead" and hung up the phone on me. So, here I am, as promised. Please note: there were people there who were completely wasted, and nothing was happening to them. This bar is disgusting and the staff need to learn to have morals. I have never been treated like this at ANY venue. I hope people who have read this review will not give them business.l read more

5 stars for a simple reason. You know what you're getting when you walk in the door, and you get it. Sure it's a dive bar but, this dive has cool all over it. I used to enjoy going there to watch football and sports. I went their last week to watch my school play. My wife asked the bartender to put a channel on and she gave my wife attitude. When I asked for closed caption she said they did not have it. I told her I have been going there for a few years and they have it. I need it because I wear hearing aids. She again said we do not have it. I asked for the remote to show her they do and she gave me lip. Sorry to say my wife and I will not go back. Been in this major Great dive bar many times every now and then over 30 years when I get back to the Pleasantville area. The people are real friendly making you always feel welcome .This place has the best burgers in town and you can go there early am and late night for cold beer then to.People meet here to chat,have a tasty bit to eat and good drink and you will never ever feel rushed or out of place. Had a few hours to kill today so I parked in town and walked around looking for a place to have a drink. After walking around for a while nothing seemed all that appealing. Was walking past this place, it looked cool and old school, so I decided to try it. Walked in and was impressed by its cleanliness, brightness and the warm and pleasant greeting from the nice bartender. Decided to stay. Had a tap beer that was very fresh and delicious, it would not have tasted any better if I was at the brewery where it was made, that impressed me. Decided to have a little snack and had the veggie platter. It would have cost me more money at home to make the veggie platter then they charged me for it, best deal in Pleasantville. Had another 2 drinks and a delicious sandwich. Unfortunately, I am not a local, if I was Sammie the bartender would see me 3 times a week. She's great at what she does, engaging, pretty, funny and happy. She was the reason I stayed initially as well as for as long as I did. read more

So I went to Foleys for a night cap with a few buddies of mine and was thoroughly impressed with this place. I love that they had a few dartboards since the previous bar I went to didn't have a board anymore. The atmosphere was quiet and the barkeeper was very friendly and knowlegeable.They have big screen tv's and sports is what you will get. You are treated with respect and quick friendly service at Foleys. I will be coming back soon I reckon. read more

It's the local bar. Reasonably priced and clean. Food is ok pub-grub, nothing special. The menu is way too big IMHO.

Years ago this used to be a fun local bar to go to, but sadly over the years since it's ownership changed, it's gone way down hill. Bar staff is unfriendly and on occasion, rude. These days it's just a sleazy hole in the wall, that I try and avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other nicer and friendlier places in the town of Pleasantville. I'd suggest avoiding Foley's and go to one of them!!! read more

Not a bad watering hole. Laid back dive bar with good atmosphere and cheap alcohol. Reccomend thenplace to those meeting with the gang to start the night. Crowd is a little mixed. Mostly an older crowd looking for some reaxation while carching updates on the games. They have 2 boards to play darts and many patron use them so be mindful to duck. first point: (and i swear i've never worked for the joint:) i love this place with all my heart. it's my home away from home- it's where i feel comfortable, all the day-time regulars will talk to me, everyone who works behind the bar makes me feel welcomed. this is why i'm giving them 5 stars; no matter when i walk in those doors, i don't feel judged, i feel at home and like i can have a beer. second point: i'm only writing this review on yelp to address what another yelp user (kate w.) had to say. kate w. apparently didn't like her service at foleys. i however, always get great service at foleys. do you know why? because i treat the bartenders (all of the bartenders, even the owner's wife) with respect (crazy idea- i know). and since i treat the bartenders well, they treat me well. kate w may very well have gotten the cold shoulder from the bartender, but i'm inclined to side with the bartender. (kate even had to wait for a drink while her bartender gave her husband a kiss. GASP! how DARE that bartender take *one fucking moment* out of her busy day to embrace the man she loves. how dare she. HOW DARE SHE.) honestly, it just sounds like kate w. has a gripe against one bartender at the bar. i'm not interested in the whole story behind it, i really don't care; i just love this bar and want everyone to experience it. if you want a bar with no frills and thrills, meet me at foleys. it's also open early and open late: more evidence that foley's is the best. read more

Food was horrible. We had wings, burgers and fries. Beer served in a warm glass and tasted like they never cleaned the taps. The place was filled with local clientele that was very friendly and unpretentious. Nice dive bar feel to it. Bartender was kind of gruff and impatient with the customers which was charming in a Cheers kind of way. Go there to tie one on after work, but if you want quality food I would recommend passing over this place. read more
